Refurbished old boozer with wood-panelled walls, a beer garden plus real ale and seasonal food menu.
Amazing pub, the best food I had in London and the staff were amazing. A must to do if your in London
Bit dark and somewhat high noice level, but not worse than expected from a pub. Splendid beef roast, so juicy and tender. Landlord on cask is of course also a great offering. Very nice and personal welcome and treatment.
A nice pub in a quiet neighborhood. Good food and good service.
Probably the best pub area, definitely my favourite. Always a great atmosphere, in a classic English pub setting
We lived on Campden Hill Road from 1969 to 72. We were long haired students and never really welcomed in the Windsor Castle. It was always a bit up itself. In the 50 years since, fashion has changed, my hair has shortened and faded to baldness. In appearance the pub has changed far less than me.Fortunately, my intermittent visits have produced a few positive memories. On a warm summer evening in 2008 or 2009, I remember walking up the hill and hearing a buzz that got louder and louder. Inside the normally sedate pub, I was hit by a wall of sound. The bars and garden were crammed with what I would describe as yuppies. Tables groaning under jugs of Pimms with piles of fruit and paper umbrellas. Wimbledon comes to Kensington. As a contrast, in September 2022, when arriving for lunch, the doors were locked, it wasnt open. We walked down the road and had a drink in the Uxbridge Arms, followed by lunch at the Hillgate. Eventually, when we got back, it was open, but did not enthuse me. There is always hope. Ill give it a couple of years and try again.
Amazing moment at The Windsor Castle! Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The food is also tasty and flavorful
A new menu, but they still have my go to options of the scallops with chorizo starter, roast chicken with truffle potatoes for main, and sticky toffee pud for desert (If youve still got room😉
We visited as a family this beautiful palace in the December of 2019.truly a must see place for all tourists. The death of the queen recently sent me back with golden memories of visiting Windsor castle among other palaces in London. 👍❤️.
One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to! Everyone was super nice and we got our orders on time and both the drinks and the food were top notch! Highly recommend this place! :)
Had an amazing time with my friends, went there and the hosts were very friendly. Host was caring towards me and my friends. One very unique thing about this pub is there is no music over there which allows us to be present there in person and talk to my friends.
Had a very unpleasant experience here. Ive lived in and around this area for years and visited this pub for a drink on many occasions. This most recent time i noticed many of the interior tables were laid to serve food and so i picked one that wasn’t for a drink with some new friends. Half way through a member of the bar staff came to tell me table had been booked and we should leave. I told him atheir was no reserved sign when i sat down bit was a pub not a restaurant and cthat having the majority of tables set for food meant it was no longer a real pub but an overly pretentious venue forcing people to eat.
Superb pub, wonderful staff and delicious food in a lovely garden. Thank you
Good experience here for a Sunday lunch with husband and 3yo. Seated in the garden, which gradually filled with other diners, including other children. Our food was tasty, and the service friendly and helpful. (This included dealing with allergies and a special request for the small person). Inside is cosy and snug (and dark in places); I could imagine coming here after a winter walk. Happy to recommend.
Very good classic english pub food in an authentic venue. Drinks are great too
Lovely outside beer garden area. Friendly staff and great food
Terrible terrible terrible experience and service. I went there a few months a go for a date, as I have often been with friends. We waited 30 minutes for one round. When I complained I was told "they were coming". NOTHING was done to mend the situation or to counter balance the problem.I have written two emails since to complain, both have been IGNORED. Dont go here unless you fit the description of the area.Really not on!
Food was okay. Drinks were good. Service was alright. Not a bad stop, but not a great stop. The building is nice and well decorated. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating experience. Would go back for a drink!
Stopped by here by chance, wasn’t overwhelmed. The beer was pretty good, food was pretty good, service was pretty good. I did love the outdoor seating vibes they had. Both pates we ordered were very similar only difference was the protein chosen. Great place to stop for just a drink.
Delightful updated pub which manages to combine a traditional, partitioned pub interior with a very spacious and pleasant outdoor dining area AND a decent selection of real ales. Card only payments.
Good traditional pub, close to Notting Hill tube with outdoor dining. Staff very helpful, food very good, price point is reasonable for the location. Will be coming back soon.
Lots of nice pubs in this neck of the woods, but exceptionally accomodating staff here, we got our booking date wrong but they went out of their way to find space on a busy day. Cosy inside and a great vibe in the garden.
Nice beer garden but ordered a weissbier which was far too warm. Could order another beer though without discussion as all other remaining bottles were all lukewarm. Food - just ok; fish of my wife overly salty and fish & chips not really crispy. What was generally concerning is that food was served 7 min after order on a Sunday evening meaning everything was just warmed up. Good for a drink, won’t come there for food again. Average, lives from its location.
A lovely pub. We sat outside in the garden. We were initially told we had the table only was 1.5 hours and asked if we could have it for longer. The staff were very accommodating and managed to find us a table elsewhere. The food here is a good too! We ordered halloumi fries and the Korean fried chicken both of which were good. I’ve been here several times but thought I’d leave a review this time because it was an excellent experience!
Amazing garden in the back, decent food...service was incredibly slow, difficult to get anyones attention for drink/food/bill etc
Used to be much better. Went today and had rather bad food. Served by some lovely people, but they were very understaffed. Pity as used to be a nice place. But maybe its not under new management? Regardless the quality of food has gone down significantly
Great pub good Real Ale friendly staff great surroundings nice beer garden a must to visit. Next time will try the food.
Sam Smiths pubs so you pretty much know what your getting. The stout is nice. My Mrs worked here many many moons ago, hence our visit.
Beautiful inside and terrace, with generally snappy service hidden in a residential area.Food was standard pub grub fare though, pretty bland and overpriced with fairly unadventurous beer selection.
£14 for a 250ml glass of wine, yes £14, grossly over priced for what they offer, do yourself a favour and try somewhere else locally, everyone else locally is at least £6 cheaper for the same wine, as for the food, grossly over priced pub grub not even gastro pub title worthy
Truly a lovely place for a pint or proper pub food. The fish and chips might be the best I’ve ever had - light and crispy and with a full fresh moist cod filet, hot, a perfect balance of flavours and textures, and elegant presentation. The chips were also perfectly crisp on the outside while hot and tender on the inside. The staff was lively, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was quaint and comfy and the bar itself makes for a well-rounded pub experience. Highly recommend!
Yummy vegan roast with vegan dessert option. Great service and caters for all other diets too. Yum!
Been our local for 30 years. The last couple of years Sunday lunch a bit touch and go.Three weeks ago had Belly Pork which was completely over cooked. Yesterday my partner had it and it was undercooked . I had pink beef which was goodBig concern at the height of this new highly contagious variant all staff except one did not have masks on. l was very uncomfortable staff breathing all over us when taking orders, delivering drinks and food. All other food establishments visited respect the health of their customers and ware masks. We went out for Sunday lunch as we are supporters of local businesses during these challenging times.I sincerely hope we will not be sick as a result……
Absolute favourite pub in London... nooks and crannies, very private, amazing garden... cannot wait to try the food. Looks amazing and patrons left no food. Huge portion though for me... Ill make sure to get there hungry.
Best Sunday Roast in Nottinghill, make sure you have a reservation. The place is very pretty with an amazing garden as well.
Such a unique and incredible pub. The low and oddly placed doors left me feeling like a kid looking for the ball pit in the childrens play area at IKEA. That said it added to the charm of the place. Great patio outback with a chest of blankets to in case you feel a chill.
Had very nice Fish n‘ Chips here. But we could only pay by card..
What a beautiful pub with a lovely garden and indoor seating. Dog friendly, great atmosphere, fast service with a smile and delicious menus.Highly recommend. 👍
Such a beautiful pub, the garden is the perfect place to have a drink with friends, super quick to get drinks from the outside bar too! Scott (on the barwas really lovely for our whole visit! I didn’t eat but the food coming out looked good, will definitely be returning!
It was OK. Theres no lunch menu to speak of, so only quite large and heavy meals to choose from. The decor felt a bit a tired and gloomy, perhaps that was just the table we were at. Maybe more of a winter pub. Drinks and service were fine though.
Loved this place lots of seating both inside and out. The garden is great with lots of heaters and ambient lighting. Perfect place to relax. The staff are so lovely you cant help but feel welcome. Would definitely recommend. Food looks delicious though just a prosecco pit stop for us this time 😏
A bit expensive but a wonderful atmosphere and an excellent beer garden. The food was good and the selection of drinks decent. Their web based ordering system is well made with good customisation options (as an example all drinks can be ordered as halves, shandies, or with cordial added). The staff are friendly and provided both bar and table service during my visit.
Because this place is located in the posh area, you are paying a premium for it. We had our Sunday roast there. I picked the steak, it was cooked okay but it only comes in two thin slices. Only have carrots and turnip as veggie. The drinks and dessert were good. The vegan gravy taste better than the regular gravy. The cauliflower cheese and the bacon sausage was delicious. The service was fast initially but then it got slow and we had to chase on several orders and look for our server. Overall the place was okay but not exceptional for me to visit again, I could pay less for more and better in other areas.
Great little pub. Been here a couple of times, for lunch and for dinner, both times the food was great and the service was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Nice place with a decent range of beers (5 points pale and Jupa et.clovely beer garden. Can get quite busy after work apparently. They serve food and have a specific dining area, but I didnt try eating there. Will try again in a week and update review accordingly.
Alone on a business trip, I wanted to try their kitchen and beer list. I got the pie and was very satisfied, but all dishes seemed lovely. Cosy atmosphere and very nice service.. worth a stop, even solo! Prices are average
Came here for a pint and meal with my father. Lovely lovely old boozer, with nice booths to drink in.Pint was good, and the meal was great. We both had the steak and cheddar pie.The only thing I wasn’t so happy with what that I was asked if we wanted chips or mash with the pie at the bar when ordering, insinuating it was included in the price and it wasn’t. It was only £1 each but it’s more the principle. Especially as it’s referred to as “up-sell” on the receipt - which also ground my gears a bit.But anyway, overall, I really enjoyed it here. Lovely old school boozer vibes with good booze selection inc some great ales.
The food and service was excellent. Loved this warm cozy pub. Order the Camembert and you will not be sorry
Cute pub. But served by a bar tender that may have been the most miserable bar tender in the world. Scotch eggs are banging tho.
Incredible outdoor space. Great for groups or just catching up with a friend over a pint. (Commenting on atmosphere, drinks, and general vibe only. We didnt try the food aside from bar snacks, e.g. chips.)
A step back into the past, memories created and collated in wooden furniture. Quite a good offer of beers and above average food. Pub food though.
