The Wild Goose Inn - Pub in Torghay, Kazakhstan
Always a nice Sunday roast and good service with nice selection of beer
Great little find. Tucked away. Warm and friendly atmosphere and wonderful food.
The pub food you want done superbly well! Cannot complement the chef enough. All the staff were great and the live guitarist/singer was also excellent. A true gem of a pub
Great place. Pain to park if C/p is full but worth the effort. Food was superb and wholly recommend the mussels. Excellent. Good selection of gin and bar staff were good fun. All mains were on time and beautifully cooked. Recommend this place wherever possible but book early.Went again last night 15/10/22 and again a superb evening. Very comfortable. Lovely staff, friendly and obliging. Food was just sublime. Absolutely no portion control and we were all completely full and more. Just a wonderful experience in a great setting. It is a place I save for special occasions. Well worth the excitement and build up to visiting. Totally recommend this as a top secret venue. Outstanding.
Top quality pub with great menu
Such a lovely meal, however, unfortunately we waited 55mins for our Sunday lunch, due to people being late as to road works, but it would have been nice if one of the staff let customers know why they had to wait so long, but no one did, shame, but the one thing that made us really mad was the people next to us ordered their food way after we ordered, and their food order was the same as ours, but they had their food before we did, probably it was because they were regulars, but that should not make any difference, but it did, it will be a while before we go back if we ever do, so Wild Goose, get your priorities right, we are also paying customers, might not be regulars but we turned up at correct time, but the regulars got the lunch first 😒.
Excellent meal lovely pub friendly staff. Loved it
Gorgeous little pub. Very friendly service.
Unplanned visit.with my dogBar seemed friendly .And no problems with my dog..
Limited menu but the food was good. Few locals at the bar and dining area was full for a while. Rustic feel as would expected in hidden away village. Small but nice garden at the back facing field. Nice, would recommend for the food.
Lovely old pub, good range of ales, and a lovely beer garden.
Lovely place and nice food will definitely be going back
Great experience, amazing food, lovely clean pub, charming atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Will definitely return!
A great traditional local pub. One of only a few left I fear.
Went for dinner with my husband the other night. Such a charming pub with really lovely staff. Nice that they are from all over the UK and they were all very attentive. The food was incredible! My husband had Hake and I had chicken Caesar salad, both very tasty. Would highly recommend and will be certainly back when we return to the area.
Been to Goosefest2022 all afternoon, goes onto closing tonight but it was great, good atmosphere, fantastic food and super entertainment. Thanks
Really liked this place! Arrived early for lunch and had a couple of drinks in the beer garden. Just so quiet and tranquil with a stream at the bottom. Perfect spot. Went inside for food, slightly old world feel but was actually so relaxed, table by the window with those views. Was Sunday so roast in order, with beef, pork and chicken. Meat was very generous and heaps of shared veg. Had whole plaice myself which was fresh and cooked perfectly, with a basket of chips. Had deserts and stayed ages!!! Not expensive, mains were £15 but very good value.Absolute gem of a pub!!!
Lovely country pub. We booked an extended family lunch, and the team could not have been more helpful or accommodating for our elderly relatives. They really went above and beyond.Food was delicious and the roast potatoes are the bomb(!)
Went for a pub quiz on a Sunday evening. 40 questions, though started later thsn advertised.
Lovely "oldee worldee" pub. Food excellent, good table and landlord very hospitable. Highly recommend.
Family owned pub. Great welcome, food and atmosphere
Visited for lunch on Easter Sunday and it was excellent. Run by consummate professionals who know how to look after you. Food, service and ambience were fist class. We will definitely return next time we visit the area.
Cheerful and engaging landlord, beautifully kept bar, inviting atmosphere, gorgeous beer garden, nice selection of beers…..made us wish we could have stayed for dinner, it it was just a quick pint!
Returned again today for Sunday roast. Its an absolute gem of a pub to visit. Wonderful food, brilliant service. And finished our visit with coffee outside overlooking the church & meadow.A perfect Sunday afternoon.Thank you Wild Goose.See you soon.
Excellent local pub, restored to former glory. Restaurant too.
One of the best Sunday lunch experiences weve had in ages.. Roast beef fab. Monkfish cassoulet gorgeous. Splendid!
Food is always lovely, staff are very friendly and the pub is fantastic
Popped in to say hello! Incredibly friendly and relaxed pub, serving reasonably priced food and drink! Tucked away so do seek this out for a decent meal and drink!
Cosy village pub. Food is excellent and service is friendly and attentive. Also welcoming to well behaved dogs. A hidden gem.
Old world charm in the heart of the village. Flickering Wood fires in winter, sit in the garden by the stream in the summer. Friendly staff, good food good ale.
Booked a table for our first night after arriving for our holiday, wasnt disappointed, owners and staff very welcoming, great selection of beers, and had a lovely meal, a nice selection of malt whiskeys to finish of the evening, dog friendly, would recommend a visit you wont be disappointed.
We were in the area on holiday & booked a special meal for the 2 of us. It could not have been better - excellent warm welcoming pub with fantastic service, delicious food & great ale. Would highly recommend this Inn & wish we had something like it near to us at home. Thank you x
Excellent characterful pub, with fine beers, superb atmosphere and good food. Craig was our consummate host and made our stay for dinner most enjoyable.
Visited with friends and family for Sunday Lunch. The Sunday Roast was absolutely 5 Star. My beef was cooked to perfection and so tender. Came with excellent vegetable selection and a bowl full of Roasties. We were all amazed at the quality of the food at very acceptable price. The beer was excellent, and Ian and the team were so hospitable and polite. It was an absolute pleasure to spend our afternoon there. "Well be back" again and again. Cannot recommennd highly enough.
Wow.My wife & I went to wild goose last night for meal we had skate fantastic. In fact the best skate meal in a very long time.We will certainly be back.
Quite possibly the best pub Ive ever been to. Superb food, great beer and the most friendly and entertaining landlord/staff. Youre guaranteed to have a pleasant visit.
Simple menu, but really well prepared food, great size portions and unobtrusive service. Combined with a lovely traditional pub setting, and you really cant ask for any more! We shall be back... 🙂
Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating, they didnt hesitate to change our time to a later one when we couldnt make our original reservation last minute, which in the current climate, I appreciate is very difficult to do. The food was amazing (highly recommended the steak! So overall couldnt fault it, would 100% visit again!
Wonderful service, ambience and hospitality. The roast beef Sunday lunch today was delicious. This was our first time since moving to the area but certainly wont be our last. Its lovely to seat in a relaxed traditional pub. Although its a village pub there is ample parking for guest.
Best Roast Dinner I have ever had in a pub.Wonderful beer garden.Would have been nice to have a few more local IPAs, Ciders and ales on sale.
What a lovely, wlecoming pub. We had two meals in the Wild Goose last weekend. There were 11 of us and the service couldnt have been better. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. They not only remembered our names but also what we liked to drink. It was superb!
Good food. Very friendly and sociable staff. Had to eat outside due to restrictions but there are heaters. Inside will be great once they can reopen fully. Real beer. Great pub, recommended.
We had a lovely lunch time meal here, a really tasty burger in a brioche roll with great chips, a philly and steak sandwich with all the trimmings and a steak and ale pie with very creamy mash seasonal veg and melt in the mouth steak. Sat on the veranda , very relaxing countryside view just the sound of birds and a stream, couldnt ask for more!
We enjoyed our dinner with friends in this comfy pub. Loved food, especially mussels for a starter (honestly, they are the best!)
We had to find out how really good the food was here. Dropped in on the off chance as we had only arrived to start our Devon hols. Lucky us , Sat. night @ early evening we got a table . Place was already busy. Unfortunately no plaice left, so choose mussels instead as we r suckers for seafood anyway. Just as good as I make it. Shame there wasn’t room for pudding. Our whole visit was so delightful but more so because the staff members give you their time in the most wonderful manner. Cheers Kray and your team mates. It was a lovely welcome.
During a week long stay in Combeinteignhead with a big group of friends we went to The Wild Goose about four times because it was close to the house we had rented and because the food was so delicious. The staff are super friendly too. One of them remembered our drinks orders from just one visit, which was really nice.
Had a great meal , steaks were gorgeous, cooked as requested. Burgers went down well - lovely meat. Veg lasagna is with goats cheese - so great if you like this. Lovely place, log fires and good service. Cheese cake - not as expected, struggled to find it under the ice cream, but they had said they only had one piece left. Would definitely go back, good value for money. Nice wine and glasses!!!
Lovely food. Amazing service and the owners were very polite and friendly. Cosy local pub feel. Would highly recommend
Loved it. Found it through Google maps and had a Sunday roast. Beautifully cooked meat and the vegetables played an equally excellent part, the puddings are to die for. Dog friendly in the bar area too.
Top quality food presented nicely on the plate at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
