The Wigmore - Pub in Lima, Peru
Didnt like here, flat beer rude abrupt door staff. Did nothing to make you feel welcome. Was going to eat but due to the reception I drank up and left and arranged to eat elsewhere as a party of 4.
Watch out, they charge a service charge even if you get your drinks at the bar. This is happening more and more and is WRONG.Other than that nice place, but leaves a poor impression.
The pictures look better then the reality!, very small place, noisy bar and the “resturant” section is tiny. The resturant manager was excellent and attentive, the waiter we had seamed “lost”, we had to ask him twice for everything.Food wise the chips are the best thing, hot and tasty and seasoned well. The burger was OK but nothing special. The scotch eggs were tiny, smaller then mini scotch eggs you get in a supermarket, and they had no flavour or a good portion of meat rapped round the quail egg. The cheese to store was nice but needed some sort of pickle to cut the richness of the cheeses. Price point was fine but overall not the wow factor I was expecting
A good option if youre near Oxford Circus and a little parched. As youd expect from a pub in a high end hotel in the middle of London, the prices are not to be sniffed at but its a nice place to spend some time. Some of the bar snacks look great, Ill have to give them a go on my next visit.
This is a beautiful, upscale pub, which is great for a date :The menu is limited, but the dishes I ordered (cod & fat chipswere delicious. The staff are super friendly. Would def come here again!
Amazing food all really well done, good service a buzzing atmosphere (Saturday evening), plush interior. My only slight criticism would be on breadth of beer selection.
Food was all great (particularly the fat chipsand great decor. Made even better by how well they looked after our dog!
What a find the Wigmore was!Stopped in for lunch and the bar snacks were unreal. A must do when in London, in fact the scotch egg is a bloody good reason to go to London in the first place! We’ll be back for more…
Unexpectedly the best meal I had in Europe, even though I spent 8 days in Italy. One word to describe: satisfaction. Ordered the, vegan burger with fries, scotch egg, and the pie.Everything was mega flavorful and perfect texture. The salted pie had an unexpected sweetness and complexity to it that elevated the mash to more than just a side. Just be warned it will explode with liquid once the pie shell is broken. Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with appropriate seasoning. Drinks were all good but nothing extraordinary. Paired with food perfectly without distracting from it.
For a bar the food is awesome- highly recommend the burger. The vibe here is definitely high end / finance / patagonia but it is awesome. The interior is beautiful, we especially enjoyed the back room section for low tables.
Part of Langham Hotel. Loud and showing the football. Decent beer selection and prices from £5.75. Burrata salad was pricey at £14 but very creamy and filling. Apparently the cheese toastie is the thing to order. Very clean nice bathrooms and interesting ceiling.
Strangest, but by far the BEST scotch egg on the market. The beef pie gives birth to a river of mustard sauce that runs over some super delicious mashed potatoes. I started as well with the hummus that I just could not get enough of. And so I have no choice but to return soon. Don’t miss this.
Disappointed. Heard great reviews so went to see for myself. Yes the grilled cheese sandwich is good but its not amazing. But most of all the service let the experience down. Our food was delivered to another table and sat at the bar waited an age to be served. Gave up and left. Annoyed at self for paying the service charge. Nice but overhyped.
Really great straightforward food, done well. Good drinks selection well prepared. Upmarket interior. Reasonable pricing for the area. Very good choice!
Quintessential traditional British pub decoration but to a v high end. Attentive staff and tasty toasted cheese sandwich. A bit pricey but comes with the address I guess... Visit.
"As dining experience nothing was amiss. The staff were so welcoming to us, and also our dog! They went over and above. The venue is so nice and the food excellent made it an unforgettable experience, we will be back. Also the Irishman cocktail, fantastic. Bold, brave and well executed."
A very fancy English pub inside the Langham Hotel. I came here for the Masala spiced scotch egg and it did not disappoint at all. What a way to elevate an iconic English staple.
A beautiful bar with creative, modern takes on pub food. We had the croquettes and the massala scotch egg. Both were delicious. A little pricey.
Delicious fare at The Wigmore. Ordered a bunch of snack dishes with my partner for dinner and a couple of beers, which was a delight. Scotch eggs were divine and hummus dip was nice and fresh. Tasty and great decor to boot. Would recommend.
It’s a stretch to call this a pub, but if it is a pub it is amazing.Best “pub” bar snacks I’ve ever had. Each dish is thought through and elevated.Good service as you’d expect.Pretty much faultless.
Wonderful place for lunch, they were brilliant with our toddler and the food was very superb.
Very good food and great cocktails.
Five stars is not really enough, to be honest. Ive waited nearly 55 years to find the truly perfect pub (fair enough, for the first 18 of those I couldnt drink legally so my search was only ever half-heartedbut now Ive been there and seen it in the flesh. The beer, wines and gins are all excellently chosen and served, the food is expertly crafted from a small but perfectly created menu and the service is fantastic; table service is provided even for drinks only. And for those that might suppose this is just another gastropub without the feel of a proper local, there was a Premier League game on the giant screen that somehow managed to blend in with the surroundings perfectly. There was a 15% service charge at the end, and thinking wed take this down by a fiver to give the same to our waitress in her hand she assured us the service charge made it through to everyone on the team and that it was shared equitably. This is a happy ship, Id say, and it shows.Update June 2022: Still fantastic.
Really liked the art deco feel. Short menu, but enough for all tastes and each item we had was great. Really enjoyed the fat chips. Someone at the next table had the cheese toastie and said it was amazing. Will try that next time. They are also dog friendly, which is great in central London.
Great place, lovely service and the food is perfect 😍
They really rolled out the red carpet for us on the Jubilee weekend. The set up was fantastic and our dog relished the range of drinks on offer for her! The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive and I cannot wait to return in the future! Would definitely recommend for humans and dogs alike
Office colleagues- around 6 of us. Decent wine and drinks. The fries and the croquettes were great. Had a decent Cabernet Sauvignon. Excellent service by Jo.
Loved The Wigmore! Great front of house, felt so welcome. Service matched the delicious food, the masala scotch egg blew my mind. Ahead of May Bank hols, the Friday night vibe made it difficult to leave. Fantastic value too.
My new favourite place, bar none! Absolutely faultless. Every dish was noteworthy and memorable, flavours perfectly balance with textures to die for.The service was second to none, we were incredibly well looked after with everything being presented and delivered with the finest attention to detail. The drinks menu is also rather vast and they have provided well thought out accompaniments to any food choice. Finally, the setting is very well executed, a very traditional, grand, English interior in a great location making it easily accessible and ideal for adding to a day trip across Central London.I will be returning at EVERY opportunity I get.
Great vibes in this upmarket pub but not overly overpriced. The staff are great as you would expect from a 5* hotel. Try the Inverroche gin, delicious!!
Incredible service, and pub food.Went for a team pub lunch, and had a delicious Vegan Burger and a pint - both reasonably priced as far as London pubs goThe décor and toilets was second to none (the green ceiling is lush)Service was fast & attentive despite being busyCan’t wait to go back!
Great pub... lovely food & vibes!!! Definitely worth a visit...
Lovely pub! Great place to rest and recuperate after a hard days shopping! Great selection of drinks and snacks. Easy to spend a whole afternoon here eating and drinking. Amazing cheese toastie also!
You need to phone ahead to reserve a table but its well worth it. Had a bloody Mary and four pints with our meal and the price of the booze was not at all expensive and Id say even cheap for its location on Regent Street and Oxford street. Staff are really helpful and friendly and kept a good eye on the drinks. Would recommend the xl cheese toasty (I think my own would come a close 2nd to theirs though). If your in the area I would 100% reserve a table and treat yourself.
I wandered into this place during a very long walk. The maitre d was nice enough to offer me a table as long as I promised to clear out after 75 min. Sold. No problem. I had a lovely glass of cab (or 2), the seasoned nuts, xxl cheese melts thing, and FAT chips. The food was amazing, service top notch, the environment warm and comfortable. Next time I’ll definitely book a table for a longer stay.
Such a haven away from the mania of Oxford street - popped in for a rest and some lunch / beer, didn’t disappoint. The pub was busy due to rugby, but the staff were charming and polite and found us a cosy table in the back rooms in no time. Ordered the toasty (of courseand Bloody Mary chips. Chips were the star of the show. Super crunchy! The toasty- if I’m honest - came a little cool to the touch and probably wasn’t quite living up to the hype, but tasty and welcomed none the less. Will not hesitate to come back - the comfort of the space and lovely service was perfect.
Lunch at the Wigmore was a real treat. Possibly the best cheese toastie you’ll ever get, masala Scotch eggs, beautifully dressed mixed leaves, chunky chips with Bloody Mary seasoning, all washed down with craft beer. Excellent! Not only is the food great but the atmosphere at the Wigmore is too, busy with a nice friendly buzz and an attentive service team. We booked in advance and I think that was a good idea. Overall it’s very impressive - treat yourself!
Loved the food, drinks, atmosphere and service. Scotch eggs were unique and XXL toast was good too. Will go back for sure
Wonderful food, drinks and service with a great garden and outdoor terrace which was perfect on the sunny and hot day that we visited. The food is original and exceptional and the drinks inventive and refreshing. Perhaps could have had more options for dessert but this may have just been a temporary limited menu. The staff are super friendly and made the visit even more enjoyable. It is a bit pricey especially if you go for the lobster rolls but definitely worth the money for the occasional treat.
A great pub if you want to feel a little special after a day out around Oxford Street. A little more expensive than other pubs, but feels like a real treat visiting here.Had both cask and keg ales and the bar snacks were a really good size.Food looked excellent, the menu was small but had vegan options, well definitely be visiting again to try food.Go on, treat yourselves.
Wow! I can’t wait to come back.Staff were super lovely and attentive, couldn’t do enough for us.Food was incredible I had the burger and it was possibly the nicest burger I’ve ever had, (quite the statement, but it’s truegorgeous chunky chips. What they have done with the outdoor space is really magical, they provide you with blankets and hot water bottles and heaters, so your super warm.
Visited last night with my son and wife. Inspirational venue in these difficult times. Exceptional service from a very good team. Drinks selection is limited but well executed. Emphasis on gin cocktails with beer and wine alternatives available. The food was amazing and a relief after many home attempts and disasters at home. Chips are as naughty as you would want them to be, (shame no homemade ketchup/mayonnaise....just mini pots of Heinz!). The toastie is incredible and a future benchmark for others. Only distraction was a disorderly table who were causing a disturbance and scene. The team dealt with situation as best as they could.
The masala scotch egg was phenomenal! Also the cheese toastie was excellent. The outdoor garden was very quiet and peaceful. Perfect for outdoor dining and drinking.
Lovely lunch stop after a few hours shopping. Always very welcoming and great cosy atmosphere. Wine selection great and the Turkey pie was delicious.
An old worldly charmingly decorated British gastropub with beautiful high ceilings and excellent food and service. The restaurant is spacious with high tables and dining tables. The cheeseburger was very satisfying with a moist chunk of grilled ox tongue with a light layering of cheese, lettuce, and grilled shallots. The thick burger certainly felt more like an ox tongue burger than a cheese one. The raspberry and almond tart with clotted cream was good but the other two dessert options may be a more delectable.
At 5pm, The Wigmore was extremely busy. The after work Londoners filled the bar, however, we were able to snag a table with two chairs and two stools to sit on.The service was quick and delivered some of the best G&T’s I ever tasted.Soon enough, we ordered our food and this is where more deliciousness happened. My favorite burger is from Au Chaval in Chicago. The burger at The Wigmore was a close second. Wow. The thick seasoned fries paired well with it, even after I was full, I wanted another one.If you want to live like a local in London, experience one of the best burgers and G&T’s, come here to The Wigmore.
Amazing and lovely dinning space with well trained friendly staffs. My friend and I had a good time here during the summer time.We both work in design industry so the first thing we notice was actually their menu. The quality and choice of paper texture was simply amazingly well considered. The tactile was satisfying and pleasant already. The letterpress printing logo is definitely fine and gorgeous with 0.1cm outlines and subtle beetles green. They printed the date on the menu which means that the papers are changed everyday, so may the menu which they may have little adjustments every time.Foods are carefully cooked with many layers of tastes. The sauces went very well with all the cuisines separately. The honeyed pig blankets are quite sweet, so I will recommend to share with 3-4 people if you’re not a fan of sweet and oily taste.I must say the fish and dessert were for sure hear warming pieces. The rich layered flavor of the dessert we tried was out of expectation and readily surprised us.Will definitely come next time to try a different season menu and enjoy the atmosphere and foods here. : )
The Wigmore is a gorgeous British pub on Regent Street, part of the 5 star Langham Hotel. The main bar area was buzzing when we arrived without being too hectic. It was a lovely pub to relax from the hustle and bustle of Central London. The Wigmore has created a drinks list from the team behind Artesian (also part of the Langhamincluding a fine selection of wines, cask ales and craft beers. Of course, there is also a decent cocktail selection. We sipped on one of our favourite cocktails – a Bramble (£10.50with Bombay Sapphire gin, blackberry liqueur, lemon, sugar as well as a Pink Lemonade. The Wigmore has a small intimate dining area which sits 20 covers. With sittings at 6pm and 8pm, it offers a quintessential British pub experience. With the menu overseen by Michel Roux Jr, we knew we were in for a treat. The menu is split into snacks, mains and sides. We ordered the Ham Croquetas (£5.50which were perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously creamy inside. The British Cured Meats board from Cannon and Cannon (to share(£19was fantastic. There were a variety of meats including chorizo and salami as well as large pieces of crispy flatbread. We also eyed up the Masala spiced scotch-egg, dahl relish on another customer’s table. With vermicelli noodles, this was a twist on the classic and looked amazing. We were also drawn to the Cornish plaice, peas, potato, brown shrimp butter sauce (£13). The plaice was tender and was complimented by the beautiful sauce. This was such incredible value for the quality of the fish.We finished off our lovely meal with a tangy and fresh Lemon and raspberry posset (£5). It was light enough not to feel too full!We were so impressed with this lovely British pub on Regent Street. The smaller dining room felt intimate and special, the service was super friendly, and the food was top notch at very reasonable prices.
Went here to check out the famous giant cheese toastie and it was every bit as good as anticipated! Lovely pub with mainly high stools and tables in the front area and tables with comfy chairs in the back. Impeccable service. Great, great food. Quiet enough to hold a conversation.
Beautiful location. Excellent comfortable seating arrangements. Friendly professional service. We were a party of six and everyone had a great time. The food menu was diverse, interesting and reasonably priced. Everything we ordered was tasty and well presented. There was also an excellent selection of craft beers. Can get a bit busy in the evening so I would recommend lunchtime visit.
