8 High St, Guildford GU2 4AJ, Kinkala
Country-style, child-friendly pub with river terrace, conservatory, real ales and an English menu.
The staff, the food, the setting, everything is just perfect! 😍
Bit pricey and it wasnt hot when it arrivedFriendly staff and nice pub
Lovely place with lovely food, personally for me the main meals where way over priced and the smaller plates was a suitsble price
Great service with a smile (Maciekand great food. Ideally situated next to the River Wey, Guildford. We opted for the sandwich menu. Very filling. Only a slight disappointment. No London Pride on tap. Was celebrating my husbands special birthday (70and he does love his LP. He did enjoy the alternative tho. 🙂 Olivers something... Thanks
I Met a friend for a coffee in Guilford and we went to this PH. We were very well served by the staff who also opened the terrace for us to seat outside in the sunshine. It has a great view for the river.I was pleased with the service, venue and location.
Thank you so much to The White House and all of their staff for making our Engagement party a lovely evening!!! We hired the River Lounge and were so lucky with the weather. It was perfect. Definitely have The White House on your list for any parties.
Nice pub, friendly staff, best beer garden close to town center.
Had a lovely evening catching up with friends at the White House. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, particularly Amy who made sure we had all we needed and more to enjoy our night
The White House is situated in a picturesque scene right by Guildford Bridge, below the famous cobbled high street. Lovely atmosphere by the river side, goodish service and the food was really good! Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed
Super pub by the river. Victoriana building with excellent decor inside. Tastefully done, great food with excellent Specials. Highly recommended!
A completely excellent pub. Decent food and beer, at reasonable prices. Lovely riverside location.
A bloody good pint of bitter and great staff who made me feel very welcome also a great location by the river next time Im there I will try the food
Fantastic ambience, chill vibes and great service. Very quiet in the evening, no too-loud pub chatter or folk music. There’s a variety of ales, IPAs and cider to choose from. Menu was quite limited but there’s something for everyone.
Lovely setting, but, I had the roast sirloin Sunday dinner, in which the meat was chewy and full of fat. The rest was lovely, but the meat was disappointing.
Only because I cant give them a zero. Ordered a single whisky and coke and they pretended to use the measuring cup but was by far short. Trying to make back the money they lost over covid at my expense I guess… watch out
GET THE BUFFALO WINGS!INCREDIBLE. The staff are friendly, the food is tremendous but the wings! I ate the 1kg to myself lol. The blue cheese sauce was awesome.Nice beer garden overlooking the river wey!
Its a lovely place by the riverside, space upstairs to book, great food and a good selection of drinks.
Nice to be by the river for a drink food was ok service was help yourself all in all not great but not bad will I go back , maybe
Decent place with a good selection of booze. Lovely riverside terrace.
James the General !! Young Charlie tec guy ! & the top Brass !! Great staff & no pressure on customers. We are repeat customers & all goes well a new toy in the fleet !! Thanks again for you patience hope to get the deal done ! Martin & Suzie.
Good seating experience. Food menu did not have many chicken options. Lively place with friendly staff. Outdoor seating views are the best
Staff always friendly. Food lovely . Real ale good. Always look after their regulars
Great location near the river in Guildford. Roast chicken was great with a pint of Londons Pride. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere is nice.
Terrible food, total rip off. We thought they might have improved after promises this would improve. Avoid
Lovely setting, right by the river. Service was excellent and beer also (as you would expect at a Fullers pub). Food was OK, somewhat limited menu and not cheap, but thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
The food is great. But a bit pricy. Location is excellent. Normal pub feeling.
The location is absolutely perfect near to the high street. Also next to the river and trees which makes it very very lovely and peaceful:there is an open terrace too. The food was fresh and delicious, highly recommended! Staff was also friendly and kind. It is a bit pricy but the experience will make it even.
Lovely staff & surroundings. Perfect setting for an early evening drink
Nice Riverside pub. We only stopped for a drink but food looks good. Pricey and a little chaotic. Beer good.
Really nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Definitely one of the nicer places in Guildford. Buffalo chicken wings were amazing!!! Would highly recommend
Gorgeous riverside location and lovely front of house staff. Steep Londonesque prices for gins (£27 for a round of twobut overall nice.
I love White House. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff! My only observation is that their vegetarian options used to be amazing (and Im not even a vegetarian! :)), whereas now the options are either more vegan-oriented or have veggie options that I dont eat as much (goat cheese, etc.). Still though, a must-try!
I love this place. It is quirky, cosy and fun. The food was good and service just right.
Ive been here several times and Im quite satisfied with the place. I had drinks, lunch, dinner here and never complained. The staff is super kind and sweet, and they have an appetising menu, although I have tried better sticky toffee pudding elsewhere.🙈 Its especially pleasant around spring and summer, when you can sit outside or close to the terrace as it has a lovely view to the river. Its definitely worth going there.
Located in the centre of town lovely place to sit outside when the sun is shining. The staff was friendly enough. It’s a big pub outside and in so there should of been some sort of background music. But it’s the food that really lets the place down I’m afraid. Microwave tasteless food…it was really bad sorry. Go for a drink but not if you also want to eat there.
Lovely place , wasnt too busy, had a very relaxed atmosphere ,we were able to enjoy a conversation without having to worry about lack of space or any loud music. Would definitely visit again. And they had Guinness on tap so 👌👏🙌😉
This is my local pub and I really want to like it more. It’s in a nice location and has a warm atmosphere, so do return from time to time to see if things have improved but honestly the food is very, very average for the price. The wine list and drinks offering is pretty good but service is a bit hit and miss, and the guy that runs the place isn’t always the most helpful or welcoming so sadly we avoid.
Right in center of town. Lovely table by the window. Good selection, ordered the fish n chips, great chips, fish cooked to perfection. Friendly and helpful waitress. Definitely recommend
I really wanted to love this place and went out of our way to enjoy the Sunday Roast which I heard was great. Unfortunately we were left quite disappointed.Ill start by saying the taste was good but it was served very cold, nearly room temperature. Some of the side dishes were not even warm at all, actually cold to the touch. It really put us off as you can imagine. Im not sure what happened or why it was served like this but I cant recommend you try it. At nearly £40 for a sharing portion, we were left unhappy. When served, we were not given a separate plate to eat from, just the one giant plate in the middle of us, nor a steak knife which I was almost afraid to ask for at this point. When it was delivered, he only gave us one, there was two of us at the table. On the positive side, the pub itself is lovely with views looking out at the canal and a warm atmosphere inside for those cold winter evenings. The staff were welcoming and I love that there are dogs allowed in the pub too. We loved the hot chocolate and the mulled wine was great. Also, the Yorkshire puddings were superb.Overall, we enjoyed the pub and drinks but seriously felt short-changed about the Sunday Roast.
Lovely setting by the river. Food is always good. Special care is taken for those with allergies or dietary requirements.
I love to be outside seeing this views. This pub is great, delicious food and kind staff.
Waaw! Really nice and peaceful location, enjoying the shade from the big willow trees along the River Way.The open space makes it ideal for family get together. The food is fresh and cooked to order, they use app ordering from your table so, make sure you allow plenty of time when place your order. No free parking, but you can use the car park next to it on the weekend £1.50 for 3h.Totally recommend after a nice stroll around the Guildford Castle, or even just after you finish from the hustle and bustle of the town.
Again had excellent service, sitting by the river. Would have been nice to sit outside but it was a bit chilly.Had the sausage and chicken club sandwich, and a side of chips. Very nice, atmosphere, pleasant staff, but most of all for the young Italian waitress. ExcellentWill definitely be back, for a special in October.
Great food. Friendly staff and a pleasing outdoor environment.
Lovely location, family friendly, nice atmosphere both outside and indoors, decent beer selection and its a pretty nice, reasonably priced spot for dinner, too.
Excellent atmosphere with a great range of beers and the food was tasty
Awesome restaurant/pub along picteresque River Wey. Great and an accessible location in the town centre. The building looks like the actual White House! The place comprises of two floors, a beer garden and a main bar downstairs. It is very lively, has good vibe and cozy interior. I loved the vintage/eclectic decor.Good standard drinks and very tasty food. We had some tapas and it was really delicious. Great burgers. Reasonably priced. We were made so welcome and looked after brilliantly by the manager himself and his lovely team. I recommend this place for customers young and old. Thank you for such a lovely evening! Fullers can be proud of this place.
The pub has great views over the river and is a nice spot for a quick drink with friends. The food menu is also reasonable with several options including burgers and pasta.
Lovely pub/restaurant on the side of the river, beautiful in the summer time, very modern with friendly staff, plenty of seats available. Menu seems to change everytime i come, but the ham hock with pineapple salsa, a free ranged egg and homecut chips remains one of my favourites!
Really lovely Sunday Past and pud was enjoyed by myself today. The young lady who served me was polite and quietly did her job and made me feel welcome. The food was sooo tasty and I honestly dont know how I managed to squeeze in pudding!!!Went back 2 weeks later for a mid-week lunch. Very much enjoyed. We shared some tapas, then I choose from the set menu and had lamb koftas to start, and harissa chicken with cous cous for mains. Delicious!!
