Make delicious cocktails and serve well kept Guinness. Didnt eat here, but food looked nice that was brought to nearby tables

We came to this restaurant by accident after a long, tiring flight, looking for a place where we could eat anything. It was past midnight so most of the nearby restaurants were closed. Marla greeted us kindly, assuring that we can definitely eat something im peace. This pub turned out to be a bulls-eye!!? We returned to this place every evening. Delicious food, smiling, friendly and funny staff, and low, competitive prices in relation to other restaurants. One of our favorite places on the culinary map of Funchal. Best wishes to Marla and the funny dark-haired guy (unfortunately we dont know his name). 😃😃 Miss this place already!

Great place to go to eat watch sport or just have a drink. Gino was fab Great service, made us feel welcome with friendly conversation each time we visited.

Amazing place! Best poncha I have tasted on whole island. Furthermore tasty meals, marvelous burgers in good prices. Everything is topped by friendly staff. My favourite local on whole Madeira. Can clearly recommend to everyone!

I ordered few times, the food is overpriced compared the quality youd expect.The bacon in the burger was like plastic, not once, the tomatoes and onion salad is as bad as the tomatoes you put in, plastic.Fries were good, but come on, who ships such amazing fries without kitchup?Previously I ordered chicken wings and these were also over-fried and hard to eat.I like the variety of the munchies food, yet disappointed from the quality overall.

All was good! portions are really big, appetizers are perfect and can be shared. And I recommend to try cocktails.

New card with nice vegetarian options but also meat. The staff is friendly and the beer card is good! Good music and relax vibe!

The staff are extremely welcoming and nice! The food and drinks are also good. But the best thing is that you are welcome with a genuine smile and a lot of laughter!

Great pub/restaurant with really welcoming staff who made it feel like a home from home. We visited every night on our short break.Only tried the bar snacks but based on these can highly recommend, and suprisingly cheap prices.Special shout out to the amazing waiters Pedro and Marla not forgetting Paulo on the bar who makes the best Poncha on the island.

Good calamari and a few beers but they totally forgot my main course which was said by the waiter to be very good.... Well, I had to even ask another waiter for my 2nd beer cause it was forgotten, too. Great pub, lousy service.

Great stop for lunch today, really tasty burger, rosemary fries, and red coleslaw, all presented nicely....topped off with Coral stout for me and Coral pilsner for the hubby....we were both V.happy....and pleasant service by our waiter.

The one star is for the waitress, she was friendly and pleasant, however she was serving indoors mostly. Outside we had the man who unless you are portugues or female, in which case he will crawl all over you, do not expect to get served in a hurry. I read that the owner says the staff are attentive!! What a joke. The food wasnt even the best, the mac n cheese was mostly cheese with a little macaroni, the scabbard fish was OK but the passion fruit mayo was too sweet for my liking. Unfortunately due the shocking ignorance of the waiter, we then had to go inside and ask for the bill as we were not prepared to have to beg for a drink, so we then proceeded to a bar around the corner called the hole in one, where the staff are attentive and the food is a lot better. If you are reading this review, all I will say is, keep on walking past.

Being there for dinner, due to my hotel nearby. Looks like an Irish pub but they have a big selection of Madeira food, such us famous tuna which I really recommend to try. Nice decoration of the dish and reasonable prices

Fantastic pub, with live premier league football. Great friendly service and top notch food. Much better than the typical sports bar, definitely the place to go for a great match night, lots of fans, with a really great atmosphere.

Just two Stars for Guinness without blackcurrant juice. Hamburgers without fries . And burgers with something so hard nearly broke my teeth . Generally all right for night out .

This is a proper pub if you like your sport and dont mind a bit of smoke. The food menu is of a very high standard .

Inside the pub feels a real mood o Irish pub, but no blackcurrant juice for Guinness is shameful. Also very sticky floor in bathrooms wasnt user friendly :-( Burgers, other drinks like poncha are OK as well as a friendly and good looking (girls opinionbig boy waiter :-)

Friendly waitress who accommodated us very late in the evening to a table inside (was raining badly). Really good service as the waitress was attentive and friendly! The food was also very nice. I recommend the bbq wings as a good snack!

definitely one of the best pubs in Funchal! Salad with salmon is awesome, fries with rosmary great, burgers as well, ponchas too. Have been there half a dozen times already and will definitely be there even more often:D

Cozy pub, good food and great service.

Very good pub to visit if youre in Funchal. Didnt sample the food though. Good entertainment from solo musicians. Good table service for drinks too.

Such a great place. We judged it by its cover inititially... thought it would be full of Brits, average food, etc. But we had some of the best food of our holiday here! Seriously impressive menu. Great prices. Restauarant quality with really interesting choices and sauce pairings (everywhere else seemed to be Prego or Pizza). Great drinks selection, loved the poncha.The only thing we hated was the smoking indoors, we went twice and didnt see any signage, but from other reviews I think we must have just missed them. Would still return despite our dislike for the smoke because it really is a lovely place to eat and drink on holiday.

We came on porpuse to have a Sunday roast lunch. On the exterior patio there was some sort of bum hanging around so we went in. Before siting I saw a guy smoking inside so I asked if that was aloud and the waiter said "yes, sure, you can smoke inside". That was not even a separated space or anything. Its against the law. So I dont recommend it. Terrible actitud.

We walked passed this place all week because we thought it was a sports pub, but its fabulous! Not only is the food delicious and well presented, its reasonable in price and they offer tje type of food you dont see in this area much. We were lucky enough to stumble on their South American night and I had a beautiful tuna ceviche. Its very popular with locals and deservedly so. Were going again tomorrow.

Really nice place to stop for a drink or meal..we love the outside patio,as we can watch the World go by.Nicole who served us is extremely helpful,friendly and professional,...and is fluent in English if you need to communicate.This was our 4th visit today.Visit #5... Excellent food we had 3 Prego(frying steak in a double bap)..D Licious!Great flavour and excellent value for money.We were served by Pedro and Nicole who were absolutely brilliant, professional,and friendly,communicative,beyond the call of duty.Truly a credit to themselves and the owner of this welcoming pub.

The White House was a lovely pub, the drinks were cheap and the food was amazing. Particularly the steak sandwich and Sunday roast dinner (a treat for a brit in Madeira). Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Not a bad pub for drinking in. Poncha was actually good (maybe a bit sourand the atmospfhere was awesome.When it comes to food i didnt have that great experience. I mean it was not bad, but usually you get that Madeira bread as a starter and not same time as main food. Fish was also good, but nothing special.

Well, ... french fries with rosemary? Thinly cut, crispy skin, perfectly cooked, not too greasy... Best ever!!!Even the minty mashed peas siding the (saber)fish and chips is remarkable.THANK YOU

The staff are very polite and friendly, they take your order and bring it too you, the food is excellent and good value, fabulous and friendly atmosphere.

Great place for hamburgers, pregos no bolo do caco and poncha. Good selection of beers as well. Fairly priced ;if you pass by, I truly recommend this place.

Perfect: good drinks, very friendly, professional and fast service/waiters, good food, reasonable prices, visited mostely by locals. Next time Madeira a must again.

Super Sports / Irish Pub / Friends Bar. They have it all! Great place with excellent prices. Great food and variety of drinks.
