Spacious, low-ceilinged pub with wooden floors, mismatched tables and an 'edible' beer garden.
The White Horse in Bambanglipuro
Description
Really relaxed nice place for an early evening drink. Had warm apple juice, was lovely.
MoreWent for a large group roast dinner. Fantastic cut of beef (sirloin), great wine list, service was friendly, super efficient and very attentive. Best roast in Richmond!
MoreVery cosy, lovely atmosphere and great Roasts !! Staff friendly too.
Cute setting but the manager is a real weirdo in here. She’s a bit rude and awkward.
MoreAbsolute top notch pub. Great food, great service and staff, and a cool small beer garden out the back. Would highly recommend!!
MoreBeautiful foodPolite staffDog friendly always a bonus
Fabulous food, staff were excellent - Luka was outstanding. Kids loved their food and the playground outside was a winner. Thank you, we’ll be back.
MoreGood food, nice friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed it very much.
Had a lovely meal today, and big up the Raspberry Mojitos by the lovely energetic, bubbly Ema . Perfection in a glass 👌, Thanknyou , As Arnold Schwarzenegger said " I WILL BE BACK " x
MoreWe ate chicken Sunday roast at this pub during or visit to a friends neighborhood, it was very good! The place has a patio and childrens playground just beside, so its ideal for families
MoreNice Fullers pub, love the food and drink, good friendly service, and a lovely beer garden.
MoreTraditional pub atmosphere. They have a beautiful garden area but was unable to use because it was booked for a private wedding. Bummer! The service was good and people super friendly!
MoreHad a great lunch and good drinks outside in the sunshine. Worth a visit.
Friendly and helpful staff.Covered outside area.Good quality food.Recomend,Rabbit Burger, salt baked beetroot and the brisket Ragu.
MoreExcellent staff, location and nibbles. We had our childs birthday party at the White Horse. They have a lovely little garden in the back with a connecting door to the playground. It was an ideal location as people were able to take breaks with their children in the park and then come inside for cake and drinks. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend!
MoreI’LL NEVER BE BACKI have been living in Richmond for nearly 6 years, and had been a few times to this pub. Never felt really welcome, but given the location, had been there for pints & meals. Today my father-in-law and myself had one Guiness at the neighbour Red Cow pub and, as its kitchen was closed, we walked into the White Horse to get a bowl of chips to my 7-year-old son. Our plastic cups were almost empty when we’ve chosen a table - actually mine was, and my FIL one’s had only the last quarter to drink. While we were waiting for the chips, the manager came and told us we were not allowed to get into the pub with drinks bought elsewhere. I apologised, said I would be more careful next time and argued that, actually, just a quarter of one of the two plastic cups were left to drink. She continued to argue with me, in a very rude way. Well, I went to the counter and cancelled the chips I had ordered. I don’t want to believe I had been treated like this because my family perhaps does not look like the stereotype of the Richmonder family that actually are their typical clients. But I don’t accept to be treated like this in front of my son. I really don’t feel welcome here.
MoreGreat for kids as the playground is secure and close to the outdoor tables. Service was good and food prompt but I don’t think they Sunday roast was great. A little sparse and for 4 adults and 2 kids the bill was over £200!
MorePleasant pub on a sunny afternoon. Out door seatinf waa good. The barman could have been friendlier.
MoreExcellent service from bar staff, especially Connor the Barman. Slightly disappointed that (apparentlya gas outage restricted our menu choices. The food was nevertheless adequate and the service was very good.
MoreFrom the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The staff are lively, attentive and utterly charming.High praise to Louise and Georgina x
MoreBooked a table for two for Sunday lunch. Shown to table and ordered drinks and then subsequently ignored. Walked out after 30mins.I appreciate that staffing can be difficult these days and the restaurant was busy but its an unacceptable experience.
MoreWe had our wedding reception here on 12 March 2022 and it was honestly the best day of our lives, Jack and everyone at The White Horse did a phenomenal job. This is a lovely pub with great food and even better staff, thank you so much for the memories :-)
MoreBrilliant service - private party but really attentive staff. Food selection wasn’t fancy but really tasty and something for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan options.
MoreA proper pub still which cant make up its mind whether to be a gastto pub. I had a burger which was well cooked and good quality and the chips were triple cooked also good. Fullers pride was well kept. Our server was good but others were kept waiting. We liked that there was no incessant bar music and people were able to talk to each other..It is a little pricey but hey its in Richmond!Plan to go back to drink in the outside as there is little traffic when it gets warmer.
MoreHave recently moved to the area and my husband and I decided to book our Valentines dinner here, as it was the nearest place to us.Such delicious food! The atmosphere was perfect and the hostess was friendly and attentive. It deserves every single star :)
MoreJust finished a long day at work and saw this pub as I was driving home, decided to treat myself to a pint. Great pub with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely would visit again if I am in the area. Finding a parking space can be a bit tricky.
MoreGreat food, nice atmosphere, nice staff....... just avoid Wednesday quiz night unless you want to be involved! It takes over the whole place. A nice evening nonetheless.
MoreA very homely pub about 7 mins walk from Richmond Station. The seating area is set out in an L shape with the front of bar serving a nice homely lounge area. Around the corner there is a lighter area which leads to an attractive garden section. A very good pint of pride served there. We arrived at a time to be willing guinea pigs to sample a new brand of tomato juice which was being used for the Bloody Marys. Very friendly staff and good service.
MoreThe best mulled wine in London. I cant get better one anywhere else. Vegetarian options could have more stock, they often ran out when I go.
MoreWe enjoyed the drinks, charcuterie appetizer, and each of our meals! We had the avocado toast, burger, fish and chips, and Mac and cheese! We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed so pretty noisy, but overall nice experience 😊
MoreThe good > First off the service was excellent and the staff were super friendly. The bad > maybe its just post covid stealth inflation but the portion sizes were pretty small given the price paid. Honestly at 15£ for a burger a couple more chips and token salad leaf ln the side would be nice.Would I go again?... Im in no rush.
MoreGreat food, really lovely wine and the atmosphere is wonderful. Not cheap but its Richmond and also its worth every penny. The waitress Luka needs a pay raise as shes very professional, very friendly and consistently good with all the customers including me. The open mics on Sunday are great fun. Its a shame they dont do professional bands playing there but the music on Sundays more than make up for it. i recommend highly
MoreFriendly staff ,usually good atmosphere. Can get busy at certain times but seem to be able to find a place to sit. Problem when I last went in,(with a friendabout taking cash, hadnt got card with me, but it was solved by a very helpful staff member...all in all okay!
MoreLovely pub, the type that is so comfy it makes you want to stay longer than you should! Staff always friendly without being invasive, good range of drinks, tasty puds and pretty garden. 10/10.
MoreWonderful friendly staff, lovely interior. Superb burger and very good fish. Only let down, rubbish warmed up chips.
MoreLovely pub in the centre of Richmond. Friendly and attentive bar staff who were very helpful. Lots of different seating areas, including a nice garden and dog friendly. Nice to see the Open Mic back up and running again as well. Only downside is a lack of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu which was disappointing.
MoreI spent a month in Richmond and was happy to have found this cosy pub for a cold night. Helpful and fun staff. I’m not giving a 5 star as the menu is a bit small and there are practically no options for a vegetarian. The main vegetarian option is a salad. I had mint and pea soup and fries. Both delicious.
MoreJust moved into the area and this pub is on my doorstep so I was overjoyed to have such a positive experience going for lunch here. The garden is especially nice. Right away the service was great - super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lunch was delicious and good value for money. Pleased to call the White Horse my new local!
MoreNice place, great service.. new management comparing with old one is doing everything to improve your overall experience. One minus and perhaps is not necessary the fault of this particular pub (as it is one of Fuller’s pubis occasional presents of kids, mom with toddlers .. in one occasion I saw a napkin being changed while I was having a meal and a drink.. it was awful experience, the staff noticed it happening but nothing was done about. I believe it should be allowed and tolerated .. it’s a pub for his sake not a nursery!!Hope the management will do something about it!
MoreIts a bit pricey for a pub, portions arent the biggest, but great staff, excellent food. Nice outdoor area, next to a public playground adjoining the garden so kids leave drinkers in peace. Dog friendly. Great upmarket pub.
MoreI’m pretty fussy about pub roasts but this one was really one of the best ones I’ve had in a long time. We did wait an hour for the food... but it was worth the wait and they gave us a free drink to make up for it which was a lovely touch. Waiters and waitresses friendly and the beer garden was lovely to sit in the sunshine. Will definitely come back :)
MoreReally great pub with direct access to a park for the kids. Food was tip top, as was the service, it was quite hard not to get too carried away in such a relaxing environment. Id say this is a bit of a hidden gem in Richmond and great to go somewhere thats welcoming to everyone - children, dogs and vegans.
MoreFantastic first time here today...lovely sirloin roast, attentive staff, great place for a Sunday afternoon chill
MoreFriendly, patient and accommodating staff. Nice fresh menu that is priced very fairly. Pleasant patio at back.We had puppy and child with our group on at least one occasion, and not a single eyebrow was raised. Is the five stars twinged by a little nostalgia? Perhaps, but it’s a solid 4.5 and I can’t figure out a half...
MoreNice pub with character and attractive decor with a decent beer garden out the back.Upmarket food menu although our burgers were on the well done side. There are a few European lagers along with a couple of English ales on tap plus a more varied range of bottled beers. Havent dipped into the wine menu yet.
MoreGreat pub! Delicious food with constantly changing specials. Good selection of drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Top notch pub quiz every Thursday. Best one Ive ever been to! Beautiful beer garden out the back.
MoreA lovely pub just a short walk from Richmond town center and train station .. A busy Sunday lunch time means good food and good prices .. With four Fuller’s real ale pumps on the go , sadly no guest ales .. A decent enough pub to warrant a revisit ..
MoreThe outdoor area is lovely. I really like that there is direct access to the playground - though this makes it hard for parents to enjoy a meal together so its a good idea to come as a group so that folks can take turns watching the little ones. What I didnt like was the 12.5% "discretionary" tip added and when the waitress handed us the machine to enter our pin, she had cheekily forced the the tip on - so decidedly NOT "discretionary" if its being added without your consent. Keep this in mind!
MoreFantastic Fuller’s pub right around the corner from station. A hidden gem with kind and welcoming staff going out of their way to make our experience perfect. The food was impeccable, even for Fuller’s usual standard. The cod cheeks and lamb kofta starters were delicious, followed by an amazing burger. Will definitely be back soon!
MoreGreat food, very welcoming to dogs but a little bit hectic on a Sunday. Would come again though.
