No-frills corner pub with dark dado wood panelling and extra space upstairs.
Nice old fashion pub with no frills! Its warm and dry with clean toilets. What I would call a working mans pub!No main stream lagers served here and not a great selection of wines if your fussy but I often find myself in here for a quick one when killing some time or avoiding the rain.Staff polite and friendly.Ideally for a couple of drinks before going to the local theatres.
Love this pub, perfect escape from the crazy of Soho..5*
This is a great local / not local bar. The team were great
Its a no music bar. Drinks are well priced.
Really good vegan burger tastes like real meat !!Would recommend 100%!!
Very decent pub - although only Sam Smith drinks available.
Extremely rude barman. Ordered 3 pints - one had no gas or head and tasted completely different to the others we ordered. Politely noted this and he rudely said “what’s the problem?”. Reluctantly gave me a new drink and said “if you ask for another one I’m not serving you.” Mentioned earlier he’s only been working here a week - can’t imagine it lasting much longer if he speaks to paying customers like that.
38 degrees outside and walking through Chinatown looking for a place to have a pint. The pub, its beer and air con probably saved my life.
A good place in the middle of central London for all beverages
Service excellent in pub, drinks expertly served, pub needs refurbishment and whole area of Soho needs a scrub. Bins, rubbish, smells - horrible
Understaffed. Waited 10 minutes at the bar to get served then gave up and left
Very weird place. Ambiance is cool, but its self-service pub ... like you have to walk to the bar to ask a server to poor you a pint, than you have to pay right away (including service... and than you take your beer to your table ... 😎 Weird.
Lovely pint of Bitter, staff helpful
Quite a small pub and given the location, packed to the rafters. Very expensive drinks but so close to the theatres.
Lack of alesAnd frankly the toileting experience that Colin had, does not reflect the experience I encountered. The trap was flooded and the general ambiance was that of a normal common or garden pub toilet. That said, will urinate again because you know, needs must. The double hinge though, was a joy
I stopped there for a pint, but the pub is awful, because of its manager. I witnessed the situation, when this guy started shouting on some random girl, who pulled out her laptop for a second. He almost hit her and threw the computer out. Dont recommend it to anyone.
Nice little pub. Ideal spot for a few quick ones when ducking out of the rain off Leicester Square.
Sam smiths pub, stick to the beers the spirits and the wine are all own brand and distinctly average.
Nice quiet London pub. No telly. No loud music just well kept beer and polite bar staff. Should be more places like this
Lovely pub and just as good food.
Ive been here on 3 occasions, usually because its quieter than most other pubs in the area. For me personally I am yet to find a drink I like in there. It was explained to us on our first visit they only stock drinks from their own brewery so no mainstream brands.Im not into the craft beers I can find them very perfumey, on my most recent visit I had a bottle of pear cider and my wife had a bottle of cherry beer both did not taste great in my opinion. To top it off these worked out at about £7 each which was a shock as the cherry beer was only a 330ml bottle. Im used to paying London prices but was a little shocked by this compared to previous visits.Staff have been fine on every visit but its unlikely Ill visit again due to lack of drinks choice.
Nice old school interior and a friendly face at the bar. However, I struggle to new see what sets a Sam Smiths pub aside from the competition. It used to be price, but their prices are now pretty standard. Cheapest large glass of wine was £8.40, so over £25 for a bottle.
My local of some 29 years. Sam Smiths pub. Real fire. Organic lager. Vegan Chocolate Stout. Whats more to say. 🙂👍🏼🌈
Management of bad attitude and racism . we want to boycott👎🏿👎🏿very bad manager . he is bossy and curses at customers. stay away from here. The service and the food was terrible. no humanity and no friendliness. condemn boycott.uncivilized management. and the service is nothing. And this shop has no humanity. treat guests not well .disrespectful
Proper old school boozer. Sam Smiths, so great selection of beer. Log fire, great during this cold weather.
Classic little pub with some great beer. The chocolate stout stands out. Hopefully it will be on tap one of these days!
We moved a chair from an empty table, because the table we were sitting at should have had 2 chairs, and only had one. The owner started shouting and swearing at us. Honestly in disbelief. Appalling.
Great pub been coming here for 30 years on and off, many bar staff changes, still very friendly, a must if passing by.
3 pints for £10.90 amazing prices for London. The pub also has a proper old school vibe👍
Absolutely terrible pub with what I can only assume is an alcoholic paranoid schizophrenic land lady! Me and my misses asked if there was room at the inn, to which a member of staff to us yes, so we filled out a post it with my name and number for track and trace and made our way to an empty table, my partner went to the loo and I recieved a scowling look off of a blonde lady. After no acknowledgement from the member of staff (baring in mind there was about 8 people in the pubI decided I would go to the toilet and when I came back I can only assume that they had forgot that they said we could come in! The bar man asked if Id signed in to which he wasnt convinced and when he asked the landlady she shook her head and then said "no service"! I was confused and ask a reason to which she said she didnt need a reason! I said "ok" and whilst I waited for my misses she went to the box with the post its in and pulled 1 out (possibly mine but dont knowand showed it to 2 other people (customers), which I would have thought was against some kind of data protection law!!!To be honest I dont even want to give it 1 star! It nearly spoiled what was otherwise a great day! Peace and love always but if you want a good night out avoid the White Horse!
Nice pub, good choice of drinks and plenty of D to Z list celebrities frequent it. Bloody expensive but its location dictates that. So if you want to enjoy an apricot beer whilst making someone that was briefly famous 5 years ago uncomfortable by staring at them, then this is the place for you.
Decent pub in a very good location with a good selection of beers. Sam Smiths beers are much better than the usual affair you get. Used to be much cheaper when it would have been a 5* pub but still an alright price for the area. Youll do well to stop here
Frankly a rip off, used to love Sam smith pubs as they were always good value, just been charged £14.40 for two bottles of chocolate stout, absolute rip off if I’m honest, only giving it a second star cause the beer was tasty; won’t be coming back.
Been to white horse after having a bit of a pub crawl- would say it was the best one Ive been to today. Wasnt very busy, got the drinks in a minute and was able to find a place to sit. Theres bar upstairs as well. The toilets are quite spacious, so no wirres about that, theyre downstairs.
Classic pub with good decor and a good selection of Sam Smiths beers. There is a nice fireplace downstairs if you fancy just grabbing a drink - the bar snacks are fairly basic and you would need to head upstairs if youd like to grab a proper bite.
Very classical pub. It is a chain, with plenty of similar pubs across london. they are quite authentic and worthwhile a visit. They brew their own beer. I like the organic varieties they have. Their wheat beer is a bit acidic, but quite refreshing and drinkable. If you plan to visit the theaters, thats a good stop for pre or post drink
Passed by quickly, enjoyed the style of the decor and they had so many unusual drinks. Was speaking to a lovely bartender Emily who was very helpful as I am very new to the area. would recommend to anyone passing by for a nice place to talk with a drink.
I had a brief stop here, as have passed it for years. its popular with theatre goers. The manager was very welcoming. It is mobile and laptop free.Traditional old pub in the heart of Soho. Had a cold nice pint of cider.
Nice little pub, but they weren’t great with numbers of staff or managing the number of people we had brought with us and they didn’t communicate ahead of time that they would want to prioritise guests who were eating over those just drinking - so we were urged to leave, which made it a little uncomfortable, but overall it was fine. Wouldn’t hesitate to return, the food looked good :)
This Pub can be quiet but it is situated near many Theatres so can also be very busy at show times. The staff are very welcoming and there is much history of the place. Exceptional was the visit to the gents toilets which could have been in any 5 star hotel.
A great cheap pub (for Londonthe food was tasty and good value and the staff were friendly. Luckily whilst we were there the owner of Sam Smiths Pubs (Humphreydidnt turn up out of the blue and cause mayhem like he does in the Sam Smiths pubs close to where we live!!!
I thought it was amazing, a true London pub experience. Really good british food, and an incredible and helpfull staff. The pies are delicious and the sticky toffee pudding tastes like a dream. The food was ready in no time and the price was reasonable. Truly loved it.
Traditional English pub with additional seating for food upstairs. Typical pub decor and beer options. It can be crowded but it’s easy to find a spot to have a pint.
We had a very unpleasant encounter with the manager. Last week some friends and I, most of us international, went there for a drink. When I asked for the drinks menu, the waitress lied to me and told me they didnt have one. We then realized that she refused to serve me just because I look underaged (I am actually 21when she didnt even bother to ask for my ID to check if her pre assumption was correct. Also, she was extremely rude to all my friends when they ordered their drinks, which by the way, are very overpriced (compared to other places in London). We obviously asked to talk to the manager, and turned out to be her. We talked to her and she denied everything she did. We even asked for a complaints form and she refused to give it to us. She kept on responding back with absolutely no respect, even telling us that she had no time and was too busy to even deal with us.Therefore, I do not recommend this bar at all. There are many other bars with better drinks and service around the area.
A fairly traditional British pub in the heart of the theatres of Soho. Downstairs seems to be main serving area, the bar counter in a circle and seats around. Oddly I didnt notice any stools, but maybe I was;t paying attention. It was a Friday night so it was packed inside and the group stood outside. Not that theres much standing room outside as the bar is right on a corner and taxis coming and going for all the theatre goers.
Great pub. Service efficient. Plenty of room considering the busy area it is in. Just slightly off the beaten track so has a chilled vibe. Its a Sam Smiths so the drinks are great value and their basic gin and tonics are actually the best Ive tasted in London. Can drink outside too in plastic glasses. Lovely local.
What a gem of a discovery in theatre land. Excellent beers unbeatable prices. We went in for pre theatre drinks and were so impressed we returned for post theatre drinks. Have to praise the hardworking staff who worked non-stop as it was very busy. Well done Paul the manager and your two excellent bar staff Devon and Kyle. We will be sure to call in again next time we are in London thank you.Linda and Liam.
The White Horse is a fantastic pub with even better beer! The decor feels traditional British and the location is lovely- soho. The owner Paul really made my friend and I feel safe and welcome and even let us ring the bell for last call. The staff are immensely helpful and the brews are to die for. Definitely worth your time if youre in London either as a Londoner or for holiday- regardless the White Horse is for sure worth your time.
Cheap beer, but the food?????It says excellent food on the sign. It isnt!!!!!!! The most lousy nachos Ive ever had!!!!
The beer is cheap and pub is good the bartenders are cool but the owner of this place is the rudest old man I have ever met he is a complete jerk so it makes me give this place one star solely based on the man who owns this place. If this place had a different owner I would give it four stars Or if the owner just stopped ever going to the pub. He is super pretentious, stuck up and very rude. And no I did not get kicked out of this pub and now ranting about him, this is my personal observation of this guy.
