The Terrace, London SW13 0NR, Kinkala
17th-century riverside pub and upstairs Modern British restaurant with open kitchen and smoker.
One of the best pub views in London - could be faster with serving the food tho.
Relaxed atmosphere, great view, friendly staff, tasty food. All perfect.
Met grown up children for dinner here. Good service, but not much in the way of GF options. Two out of three of us enjoyed their non GF meal choices! Lovely view of the river in the early evening
Had a lovely lunch Saturday, sat upstairs, beautiful views over the Thames, thoroughly enjoyed the cheese stuffed chicken and the lamb canon, Service was great.
Abysmal service. Apathetic and aloof staff with a poor attitude. Over priced. Average food. Forgotten drinks. Food all arriving at different times. No apology. No one cared. Terrible, will never ever return.
Saturday lunch. Big party upstairs. Have run out of fish and chips and over 45 mins to be served. Badly managed
Took over an hour for food. We had to move to an inside table as got too cold. The food was cold/over cooked when it came out. We had 10 mins to eat until they came and asked us to leave as the table was booked for someone else. Staff were all extremely stressed, felt like they were understaffed.
Lovely pub with great outdoor seating just by the river. Food is good too.
Great Riverside pub with a good range of beer and friendly staff. Dog friendly for the win.
Great local pub with lovely views over the river, a nice outdoor seating area and good food. We always enjoy an evening out at the White Hart, the staff are also very friendly.
Friendly staff and such a unique and beautiful view of the river. The sofas make it perfect for a comfy chill and the beers, food and (for megin and tonics make it the ever present go-to for Barnes
Loved it, went there with my family for Sunday lunch and everything was just lovely. We booked a table on the little terrace overlooking the river, which made the experience even more pleasant. The food was simply great, and the service was very good too. Will defo go back.
I usually love this place but unfortunately my friend’s fish and chips arrived with the batter completely raw! We sent it back and the second one was ALSO raw and the batter burnt on the outside! My salad was also not good — £15 for something really basic and not enjoyable — mainly just some wilted spinach leaves over-saturated in a boring vinaigrette. So disappointed with the food, not sure what’s happened to the kitchen at this great pub! :-( Have they got a new chef?
This pub has one of the best locations in London. Right on the river, gets the evening sun and you watch the sun setting. There’s benches on the riverside and the outside seating really makes the best of the views. The decor is beautiful- classy and tasteful. The reason I’ve given this place only 4/5 is that the two times I’ve eaten here the food was slow to come out. Because it’s such a beautiful pub in a great location it gets really busy and the service can suffer a little bit because of this, on sunny evenings expect to queue at the bar for a while.
I definitely recommend going here. If you want a nice decently priced pub to go and chill by the river bank and see a sunset over the waters this is the spot. Three stories high, with balcony and front outdoor seating with terrace. Sadly, no pictures for this review as I was too busy being in awe of the view. I bought Neck Oil beer for 6.20 or so, slightly pricey for where it is, but thats London for you.
Lovely pub with tonnes of outdoor seating and great views of the Thames. Always a nice crowd and always a great night. Friendly and nice staff and though busy it somehow never feels too hectic. One of the best if not the best pub in the area.
Lovely gastropub on the river, with different areas to suit everyone. There is a really spacious and comfortable inside space, a terrace to eat food outdoors and a set of picnic tables right by the river you can bring drinks down to.Well priced for the area with a great selection of beers and speedy service even at peak times
Lovely place on the river to have a drink.Would avoid food. My partner ordered the Sunday roast beef but was so bad he couldnt eat it. The waiter collected the plate still full and didnt even ask if there was something wrong, so we told him but he didnt really acknowledge it, didnt apologise and gave us a full bill.My plant burger was just ok.
Sadly lost its lustre. Poor (slowservice and average food. As lovely a spot as ever though if you want a quick pint.
Thank you to the White Hart Lane team to make my daughters FHC celebration a great lunch event. Amber and Katie were very helpful during the preparations and on the day. The service was very good and all of our guests had a wonderful time.
A pub with a nice view and relaxing atmosphere, the food it’s quiet simple but tasty and the drinks are great… I highly recommend this place!
Riverside pub with sufficient indoor and outdoor seating on south side of Thames. Fairly busy as the location is perfect. Service was good and food decent. Can visit again if in the neighbourhood.
Spent an afternoon in this nice pub on the river including a decent meal only to be evicted by the overzealous manager 40 mins early because someone turned up early for their table. He even refunded our drinks to F off quietly. I’ve been a client of this pub for 15 years but won’t be coming back
Amazing location and lovely set up. Staff really friendly. Food was excellent. Get orders in early as you can wait a while once things get busy. edit: the chips here are epic btw!!!
Very long time to wait for our food. Had high expectations after hearing good reviews. We booked 2 months in advance and requested a table with a view - but we were given a view of walls..We ordered a selection of starters which came with the mains. The food took 80mins, including the starters. No apologies, nothing. We went for a birthday lunch and the food was OK. But we were all frustrated and hungry. The roasts were OK. The roast chicken tasted pre-cooked and the beef roast was cold. Portions size was OK and had a good selection of veg.I understand when a kitchen can be overwhelmed, but the staff need to communicate to inform us of the delays and at least offer some compliment drinks or bar snacks. To be honest have had better Sunday roasts. Its a nice spot for local residents, but doubt will visit again.
Location pub with good views on the Thames. Because of this, or maybe a sign of the times, its an expensive ish menu for a pub. However, relaxed and local atmosphere makes it a place you would revisit. Very dog friendly, family friendly.
Great location let down by poor service. Waited half an hour for 2 beers, a G&T and an aperol spritz. Hardly a difficult order. Don’t order on the app - make sure you order at the bar. We saw so many people being served before us as they ordered at the bar ?? Had to chase up the order a few times. Has potential but management needs to do some hard work. They were telling people around us it’s because they were “really busy” - it’s a Friday night of course it will be a bit busy. Wasn’t even that bad, we got a table straight away and wasn’t packed. Just normal. Anyway hope to come back if they sort out the service.
The staff was amazing and the food was great! The vibe in the pub was really relaxing and the workers were particularly hardworking, really attentive and friendly. 10/10 !!!!
Id been looking for a pub with a nice view and a relaxing atmosphere for quite some time so Im really thankful that I found this place! The building is beautiful and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about their Ale, Wines and Spirits. I got to talking with a lovely barmaid called Amber, I explained that I had certain dietary requirements and sometimes struggle with finding drinks that Im able to have. She was so friendly and understanding about my situation then she was able to not only recommend me many different kinds of drinks that fit my requirements but even a few meal options as well which I happily took her up on and Im thankful I did because I really enjoyed both.I shall definitely be returning!
Stopped by for a last minute Sunday roast and given it was a windy day we were able to get a table on the balcony outside - which wasnt bad as they had a blanket (only one though and we were a group of 3and heating (that needs to be activated by touch every so often).Food probs are big. My partner loved the chicken roast and the vegetarian mushroom pie was really nice. The pastry was made fresh that day which was a delightful surprise given Ive had some appalling vegan pies from other pubs. The view is really nice and the staff were friendly but itll take a while for them to circle back to you given how busy it gets so just head up to the counter if you need anything. It is recommended to book a table to guarantee seating inside. Apple cider on tap was great too! Would come back 😌
Wonderful visit to White Hart. The team are incredibly efficient and friendly. Their food is delicious and served promptly and the views are second to none. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. Lovely airy pub, beautiful location, good pub food, but most of all exceptional team working here! Everyone of the team we encountered were friendly, polite, and professional! Made our visit truly memorable. Thank you!
Tasty pork, not very fatty - good roast, great size.Very strange refusal of bar staff to pour pints to the top of the glass, claiming their glasses labelled pint are actually bigger than a pint. The manager weighed in adament they would win this battle frantically decanting and spilling water from one glass to another in a bizarre attempt to prove their point.
Lovely food and staff, very dog friendly and the food was excellent. Great to come here for a nice meal after a walk around Barnes and the common. Lovely and relaxed atmosphere and right along the river, bathed in sunshine. A definite recommendation.
Nice pub right on the river with outside seating that hangs over the river. You can also sit on the picnic tables on the bank of the river, but be wary of high tide (see photo). They have good vegan options, the vegan burger I had was nice but did do much to satiate my admittedly large appetite. The place can get very busy though! Dogs welcome!
British pub serving good food & drink with a view.
I am sad to leave a negative review because this is one of my local pubs however I ordered the vegan burger for £15 and it arrived really burnt and the chips were really undercooked and hard in the middle.I asked for a replacement, which they then sent out without any vegan mayo on it (states on menu served with vegan mayoso then I had to wait a while for someone to bring some. By the time I finally had my burger, my fiancé had finished his meal.I’m not sure if they have changed supplier but the vegan burger even when not burnt was pretty grim. The patty’s are worse than even any own brand supermarket vegan burgers. For £15 I would expect a beyond burger patty or moving mountains. Pretty awful value for money. The presentation also left something to be desired. Then they said they would refund it but actually charged us again for the burger instead. I’m sure it was simple mistake but wasn’t helping our fustrating experience. The pub does have a Lovely balcony overlooking the river. The inside is decorated very nicely with comfy seating.
Great pub for after work drinks during the week. Had a fab cod and chips, food is really good. Great selection of gins and beers! Nice setting and decoration too. Super steep spiral stairs to the loos though and they seem to get steeper the more you drink 😜
Beautiful British pub, located on the south side of the river. There are outdoor tables on the upstairs terrace and on the ground floor balcony.Inside there are plenty of tables all around the bar.Classic English food, from starters to puddings. As of today you can order using the app on your phone, but be aware that if you make a mistake in the order it will make it a bit hard to cancel or change any item.Service is quick and professional.Book in advance if you want to make sure to get a table.
5 stars for location, view, atmosphere and service. Mushroom pie was also great just not the best I’ve had! Didn’t really matter though as overall such a nice pub. Can’t wait to go back!
Disappointing beyond belief! An EXTORTIONATE £16 for a burger and chips could be justified if it was sensational, incredible, out out of this world! However, the burger that was served did not even rival a MacDonalds hamburger - £4.88 for a Quarter Pounder with fries at MacDonalds for comparison. Look at the photo Ive attached and tell me thats worth £16. For £16 you dont even get a little side salad or some accompaniment. Then lets get to the service. Wait... What service? Almost everything we ordered came with the wrong sides, had and issue or just didnt arrive at all.A rip off experience I will not repeat. Very sad, the location has such promise. To the owners: I appreciate there was a pandemic but ripping off your customers is not the path for a comeback.
The pub has amazing views and an appealing menu and fantastically decorated premises. Perfect for a drink and some food after a day at work.
Menu is quite expensive but food tasted really good especially the piccalilli. Setting is great too, right on the banks of the Thames. Only reason for 3 stars was no disabled toilet and the main toilets are down 16 spiral steps which was really difficult on crutches and impossible for my even less mobile friend.
Great pub, with a beautiful view, very friendly service and tasty food! Cant recommend it enough! You can book a table in the garden or get takeaway and sit (without bookingat the large tables by the river. For the colder months there are also heaters in the garden for some of the tables.
Didnt have chance to spend much time there as place was fully booked, so managed only to have a quick drink after very long walk around the area.Pub seems nice, full of locals. From what I saw food looked good and portions were generous. There a lovely terrace outside with a view over river Thames and nearby Barnes Bridge, so its perfect spot for dining outside on warm spring/summer night out.
Very nice pub directly at River Thames walk in Barnes. 3 min walk from Barnes Bridge station. Large outdoor area, balcony, terrace, tables at the river walk. Good food menu, very well maintained, clean facilities.Good for a starting /ending a walk from / to Hammersmith Bridge.
Haha, someone has been having fun when designing/remodeling/enhancing this hostelry, the quirky staircase, the racquets the canes. It all says fun and not being taken too seriously. A lovely cavernous bar with an Island bar taking pride of place. Right on the river just for the boat race. Wonderful staff, great beer and wines with plenty of keg and a selection of Youngs casks on offer. A most pleasant visit, please do!
We first visited the White Hart in October 2014 on a first date. We got married a few weeks ago, so felt we wanted to return to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane. This pub is beautifully positioned on the River Thames and benefits from great views across South West London. The White Hart offers much more than just nostalgia and great views. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and has cool vibes. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Our waiter was extremely cheerful! They have an eclectic menu, and we just had to have traditional fish and chips. The portions were extremely generous, as was the dessert of sticky toffee pudding. It’s a very romantic place - especially for us!I’d highly recommend a visit.
Such a wonderful discovery along the river. My friend and I had lunch there and the food was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed eating the Fish and chips, very crispy batter and delicious chips. The staff were very polite and welcoming and provided excellent service. This place seems to be a hotspot for mother and babies, hikers and dog lovers. I can imagine this place being really busy in the summertime. Plenty of seating outside on the terrace and on the riverbank.
Nice pub venue woth great river setting. (Was raining but dont be put off by thatFood was really lovely too and a good craft beer selection.
