I dined here with a friend and we were thoroughly looking forward to our Sunday lunch (roast). Upon sitting at our table we were immediately questioned on our booking (note: we were the only women of colour in sight). After multiple attempts to capture the attention of the disinterested waiters, completely parched and void of any menus we were left to our own devices. This is despite the many instances of eye contact. Perhaps we were invisible. Finally, we were then informed without remorse there were no roasts available(NO ROASTS - given the whole point of a Sunday menu, one would think they would adapt their provisions to the amount of guests projected), which was followed by a procession of roasts for the guests surrounding us. It is a shame that the service of those in the dining area does not match the quality of the food (which is good). Will not be returning.

Drink sizes were on the smaller side, food selection was also smaller and was pricey but you pay for the view which nearly makes it worth it

Well appointed, BTW London prices as usual made me wince. View of the river was relaxing. Tide was in, wellies required!

Very busy on the Bank Holiday however they had lots of staff working so getting drinks only took a couple of minutes. Food was well worth the 40 minute wait. Soft shell crab burger was unusual and delicious.Great view of the river and plenty of seats.

Positives its in a great location with superb views along the river at Richmond. It does the Youngs beer range and I had good fast service.Negatives it has lost the comfy feel it used to have with distressed rickety furniture now in vogue, instead of proper pub furniture and seems to be geared up for the large crowd mass market that goes with a famous riverside pub. Also lost the eat in with a bit of comfort and the locals riverside choice of pub. Good for turnover in fine weather, but when this is not the case?

This place is a perfect match of you are coming with a bigger group. There is a lot going on and many people are taking plastic cups to the river or just pile in front. The beer is perfectly cold and the service swift and friendly. The white cross is what will get you to the red cross because of the ease with which the beer is going down. I CAAAAANT STOP!!!!

Great pub. Worst roast lunch, Veg was diced frozen and absolutely horrific. Not what you expect when parting with £19. Needs to improve urgently.

Awful experience with the bar staff today..Been drinking here for 25 years..recently all new staff.Waited in line to be served -bar staff ended up serving the first customer they see on 2 occasions by 2 different staff members.I understand you are busy but surely ‘ask who is waiting Inline first!!the basic of bar staff training)Very poorly trained..Shame all the previous bar staff have left.

Given sunshine and high tide, the pub gives you breath taking scene of the river. Quality of f & b is not bad but a bit shy of the magnificent outside view. The beer’s temperature could have been better maintained while the fish and chips were slightly overdone for my order.

Please be careful of this place, they will scam you if you need a refund. We ordered food and my friend had a dessert which was meant to be brought to us after the meal, we forgot about it as it took so long, so as we went to leave, she realised she had ordered it, this is about 15 - 20 mintues after we had finished eating our main.I spoke to a a young man asking for a refund as we had to leave. (Over priced food too, not worth it, very greasy)He told us to wait, assuming he had to ask a manager, then an older man came out, light blonde short curly hair, said they were waiting for us to finish, I said, we need to leave, can I have a refund please as we have been waiting a long time.He was very rude, huffed as he walked off, came back with the card reader, and said, tap there, huffed and rolled his eyes, he turned and walked away quickly.I then said, excuse me, can I please have the receipt, he turned back around and huffed and rolled his eyes again and then said, you need to insert your card....Then gave me a receipt after I entered my pin...He obviously knew that me not inserting my card and entering my pin would not give me a refund.Awful customer service by this man!

Great spot, very clean & lots of staff on hand. Problem I had was none of the staff would catch my eye, I was trying for ages to get some attention. at least 6 or 7 staff walked past my table numerous times even when my drink was empty. I was feeling very feint due to the heat and wouldve loved some assistance or a glass of water. It wasnt very busy and it honestly seemed like the staff were avoiding my gaze. I ended up helping myself to water before heading to a pub on the green to eat, the staff there were super friendly and attentive, maybe the team from the white cross could go learn from the competiton

It has changed since I first went there in 1990s, but its still got the same charm. Lively and fun on a summers evening by the river; now you get cushions to sit on the road curb (we never had that in the 90s What could be better!

Used to be great, I have been a happy customer since mid 90s, went for lunch yesterday and that is where it went downhill.Mango and Avocado salad at £14 contained 3 particles of mango, few bits of avocado and rest was just leaves. Portion was tiny and cost of making it was not more than £3. I had to go to Tesco to buy food to get me trough the afternoon. I had mango and avocado salad from competition and it was amazing. It states on the menu that this is vegan option- I am not vegan but if you are please go for the plant burger instead. They struggled with taking payments on few cards for the bill and made it more difficult than it is.Now on the fence if I should give them another chance or visit competition.

I had booked my partners birthday celebration at the pub over the weekend. It was almost 40 guests, and I cannot say thank you enough to pub staff, specially Troy and Eva for helping me throughout our time there. The service was impeccable, friendly and smooth. I couldnt ask for better evening:It was my first time at the pub, and 100% not the last one😁😁

The place is fantastic , the quality of food is borderline mediocre to appalling. The quality of the rib eye steak for £30 does not do justice even for a pub standard in Richmond , the fish and chips seems ok but i didnt taste it. The staff perhaps part time students are atrocious. Train them first how to interact with people especially those that are non white. My total bill for dining here for 2 450 gm steaks, 1 starter and 1 dessert got it wrong and drinks of 1 bottled coke and pint of youngs was £75. The only reason why we dined here was due to slug and lettuce problem with the kitchen resulting to inability to function and serve customers.

Beautiful location by the river and plenty of outside tables as well as cushions for people to sit on the curb. Sadly the food and service were a massive let down. It took just over 30min to receive the food after having ordered from the QR menu. We ordered a vg burger and a veggie roast, I couldnt finish my roast, Yorkie was oily, potatoes were soggy, they werent particularly roasted, veggies were a bit cold and had no flavour whatsoever. VG burger was just a run of the mill type, nothing special. I wouldnt go back there unless it is for drinks only. I was very disappointed with the food.

Customer service (from one bartender in particular- a young manwas unacceptable. Passive aggressive, rude. Disgusting. Lying about not seeing me at the bar, there were only 2 of us in his section. I was told to ‘appreciate that it was busy’… that wasn’t the point, it was the fact that I was overlooked entirely when I highlighted that I was waiting to be served first. He was very rude. Not happy at all. Also, attention meets to be paid to how customers are asked to leave. It was lights on, get out in very very quick succession, within 3 minutes. Not acceptable. Hard working security guards, but they need to be a bit more patient or start the process a little earlier.

The smallest burger ever (£16!Not very good, either. Seriously, dont go here for the food. Good location though. Beer not very well kept. One of our party had a bad pint. The staff member refused to change it and then asked the manager to come and taste it. Very strange.

Very nice bar, perfect location . But.. theres something about being served half a glass of Prosecco instead of a full glass that make you feel unsatisfied. Especially after the first one being full. Not sure Ill be coming back, dont like the feeling.

Nice pub right on the riverfront with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, although in summer they offer drinks in plastic cups so you can easily take them with you and sit on the riverfront instead. In terms of food, usual pub grub, unfortunately nothing special. Good portion sizes and fast friendly service.

Absolutely one of my favourite pubs in London. Almost regardless of the weather I try and sit outside for the views up to Richmond Bridge and the closeness to the river. It almost feels like the countryside! The insight is snug and the top floor affords some excellent views. The beer choice is broad and the food, especially the Sunday roasts are superb.

Wow. I was blown away by this place. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, I felt like they were very inclusive and also gave my dog treats. The veggie roast dinner was probably the best I’ve ever had. The pub itself is very cosy and traditional and has wonderful river views. A really nice place.

Went for the Young’s Winter Warmer breakfast on Fri 29th - what a treat. Great to see a pub buzzing and full of people and this team really do an excellent job of keeping their customers happy- well done all - and it was a great occasion with a fab beer (and horses!).

Large Victorian riverside pub with ample terrace opening onto the tidal Thames. Great views to Richmond bridge and the moorings, and the terrace has large parasols in case of rain. Only downside was that when eating or drinking outside, due to COVID restrictions you currently have to order through the Fullers mobile app, which takes ages to register. Food portions werent large but were good quality, and staff very bubbly & helpful. Dog friendly 🐾

Have a drink on the street alongside the river Thames with their outside (street baror have a drink and meal within the walls or go inside. We choose a table just in front of the pub. Nicely distanced from the next table, not that people were too bothered. We even brought in our bikes. Everyone was chatting and being merry. We also had a meal. The missus a burger, I went for the 8oz rump steak. Delicious X2. Service was excellent! Prices are okay, not too cheap nor expensive, somewhere in between. Burger was £15, rump steak £18, which was the most expensive thing on the menu. I would definitely recommend the White Cross for a meal and drink after work, or as a pitstop after a lovely long cycle along the Thames path.

Located in an extremely enviable position by the river and Richmond High Street, the pub attracts crowds in hordes, probably way more than it can handle. Staff are friendly but often gets orders wrong or forgotten. We waited for nearly 2 hours for our food. Even the childrens food arrived in batches. The vegetables and chips arrived an hour and half later after the chicken wings were delivered and after chasing three times. The food however was great which mellowed us to some extent and the waiters tried their best to make up for the mess up. Best to avoid on busy weekends, but otherwise great.

It’s Bank Holiday Monday and one of the first sunny spells, so the crowds are out and The White Cross is in pride of place overlooking a picturesque part of the Thames. Does this demanding service ahead intimate the staff whatsoever? Absolutely not! Friendly and attentive care from every member combines to run like a well-oiled machine, with the lovely front staff expertly managing expectations of impatient people who have overlooked the need to book ahead. Food is delicious as always, drinks presented without fault; it’s easy to see why this place is a trusty choice that makes one want to visit again and again.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Richmond. Great location. Good food and perfect outdoor seating space. If you’re lucky enough you can also experience the high tide coming all the way into the patio area. Good spot to watch people struggling cycling through the river path submerged by the high tide They have free WiFi. Friendly staff.
