The Whisky Bar in Seattle
Description
I all ways love coming here, no matter how busy they are, they are on top of it. I dont go to Seattle often but every time I do I stop by the whisky bar. Top tier bar food, definitely recommend trying the A1 burger 🍔
MoreI sat down at the bar and there were 2 guys behind the bar. After 5ish minutes, 1 turns to me and asks for my ID. I pull it out, and he doesn’t check it (understandable bc it’s busy). A few minutes later, his partner checks it and hands it back to me. Neither asks me what I want; they’re busy running food and getting drinks for previous customers (again, perfectly reasonable even for a Sunday night).I get it. I wait and there’s not a peep from me. No one drops off water or even remotely tries to engage in conversation nor eye contact. I’m feeling quite uncomfortable at this point. But the cherry was when a white guy walks in 15 minutes after I’ve been sitting there and the “bartender” immediately says “Hey! What’s up! How’re you? What can I get you?!”If you don’t want me there, just ask me to leave; please don’t make it awkward. After this exchange, I get up and walk out and decide that neither I nor they have to suffer my presence in their establishment. I’ve never felt so humiliated nor unwelcome ANYWHERE!!! Mind you, I’ve been some places where I’m not meant to be. Do better Whisky Bar, do better. Or just be up front about who you want in your place of business.
MoreWonderful, Knowledgeable, Kind bartenders. We had a great time with family
Do you like to have amazing whiskey options? Do you like heavy metal? Do you like awesome bar eats? Then The Whisky Bar is where you want to be. The owner and bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and have created some very awesome cocktails. I would also highly recommend the tater tot nachos.
MoreStopped by Labor Day late afternoon.Good selection of Spirits.Small tap wall but decent.Friendly staff.Basket of Fries were very good.
MoreThe bartenders are incredible, but it was criminal of the owner/manager to leave two employees covering the whole bar on Labor Day weekend.
MoreNice bar with great ambiance, the price is reasonable. The fish n’chips is pretty good here, crispy with great portion. The Old fashioned has a strong fragrance of citrus. Personally I think it is great but might not be ideal for heavy drinkers. The Smokey and the Bandit is a little sweet for me, but the scotch fragrance is pretty strong and blended pretty well.Overall, a recommended bar at downtown Seattle!
MoreBurger was okay. Most of the ingredients and the bread were tasty but the patty lacked flavor and was overcooked. Service was terrible. There are only a few bartenders who are also waiters, and it takes them forever to get orders from the table. The cheesecake was really bad. Very smushy unified texture and taste, and the doughnuts they add on top were soggy. The whisky selection is broad
MoreGreat barkeeps, really good selection of mid and high end pours. Prices are reasonable, especially for the current market and elusiveness of certain bottles.
MoreCool place to hang out with friends.Tip: Avoid fries here, they will be just raw
Big portions and great cocktails! I ordered the impossible burger and a painkiller and my friend ordered the brussel sprouts and a mojito. My drink was well made and came in a fun tiki themed glass with very little ice, which I appreciated. My friend loved the brussel sprouts and the burger was delicious!
MoreThe fact that I got served a hurricane in a water glass and got charged $14 for it is totally horrible the food was good but the bar service not okay wont recommend wont be coming back for drinks that cost $15 to be served in a water glass disrespectful
MoreI had to bump my rating from 4 to 5. This bar is my consistent go-to whenever Im in Seattle, and their selection of whiskey is fantastic.
MoreWe had a great experience.Seeing they had such a wide selection to choose from, we appreciated how knowledgeable the bartender and his ability to help us choose from some of the more local offerings. Now if I could only remember which whiskey we drank so that I could ask for it again.... 😜
MoreWe had a great night here talking with the expert of whiskeys behind the bar, even though we also had a whiskey expert in our midst, they both were able to surprise each other with there knowledge! This is also the bar where things went downhill for my hangover the next day!Well be back!
MoreWorst service ever. The waiter didnt even take our order properly. Doesnt check if we need anything after the drinks order. Doesnt check if we want the bill coz we all wanted to leave.
MoreIm not joking, but best burger and fries in Seattle. And the fish and chips are pretty rockin. Huge piece of fish like they serve in jolly old London Towne. Crunchy beer batter. Not breaded. The strength of the crunch is there to hold the massive piece of fish.Great music from Clash to Black Sabbath to Joy Division to English Beat.
MoreThis place always rocks. Their burger and fries are my consistent fave in Seattle. They are mostly half pound burgers of immaculate preparation and big flavors. Great classic pub food. The music is a nice volume and they almost always play new wave, Ska, punk from 1977 to about 1986.The bartenders make great drinks, the local tap bet list is almost 20 beers.AND this is THE WHISKEY BAR. The expert chill career bartenders will suggest whiskeys and even sell you half pours for exactly half price.
MoreBeing a whiskey enthusiast I was eager to sample the Whiskey Bars selection. Shortly after I walked in to the bar I recognized the bartenders had a look of disdain on their faces. I was asked for my ID twice in quick succession. I brushed off the rudeness of the intial bartender with a handlebar mustache and begin to ask questions of one of the other bartenders (guy in his late 40s early 50s). I inquired about the a couple of ryes they had on display I was met with terse and pretentious responses. I get that whiskey is a finer and nuanced experience, but that is no reason to make customers feel unwelcome. I bought a pour of barrel proof rye which, was enjoyable, and quickly left. I would not recommend going here purely based on the lack of courteousness of the bartenders in a place where one should be met with a higher standard of service.
MoreMust visit in Seattle. Service was great. Selection is outstanding. Setting was really nice. 👌
MoreSuper tasty apps and wonderful drinks with more than enough choices to keep you coming back for more! I didnt catch the name of the bartender that was working last evening but he was wonderful and super helpful / knowledgeable when I was trying to pick out a drink. Thank you for the lemon, gin lavender thing! It was soooo good! ❤️
MoreSuper extensive whisky list, with great food and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
This is a "must experience" spot if you love whisky. I got to try a whisky I had not had before and at a reasonable price for the pour. Excellent selection of whisky. Cheers!
MoreBartender was pretentious and was not very accommodating. Refused to make any of the drinks we requested. We were willing to stay with our group of 8 and stay for awhile, but the bartender made us feel very uninvited so we left after our first round of drinks. This place was not very suitable for groups despite being the only people in there and it being a large space with lots of tables.
MoreThey don’t use egg whites in their Whisky Sours. I’ts a great place if you are looking to try a bunch of different whiskeys. But maybe not the place for whiskey based cocktails?
MoreUsually The Whiskey bar surpasses all expectations for a good burger and bomb fries. Tonight though the service and the food was waaay less than what we are used to. We called in the order and the guy whoa answered the phone answered with, "yea?" And throughout the whole minute of conversation, I felt like I was annoying him and his tone was yucky. I almost decided not to eat their and maybe better luck with ordering next time. Nope I just went with it and said well everyone has bad days right. Well then I get home and my burger was pretty much still breathing and my bfs chicken burger had pretty much a half of onion on it with a very old avocado. Usually I absolutely love this place. Tonight wasnt great.
MoreThe place was a great find. We were wasting some time before dinner and came across this Whiskey Bar. Glad we did. The Whiskey selection was phenomenal from all over the world. Ended up getting the Scotch flight with was delish. And finished with Dryfly Bourbon and the Barrel aged Boulevardier, both very good. Food selection was decent. We ended up getting the Brussel sprouts and the pickle fries. They also had a beer selection as well. Place didnt seem busy, service was a bit slow but we also sat in a booth. Will definitely keep coming back.
MoreSuper nice cocktails. Had an old fashioned, and it was 🔥 . The food was also good
MoreGreat little restraunt in the Seattle area, food was better then expected, whisky is always amazing, bar tender knew his stuff!
MoreMy boyfriend and I are big bourbon fans so we made sure to make a visit to this place. The bartenders were nice and super knowledgeable on all of their whiskeys. The list was extensive and impressive. They also made me the best whiskey sour Ive ever had! It was a really fun experience if your a whisky fan. And if you really want to have a conversation about it, make sure to sit at the bar! Oh, and the food was really good too.
MoreOne of the best selections of Whisky I have seen, period. The staff is incredible, kind, funny, and very knowledgeable about whisky. Oh and did I mention they make the best Old Fashioned (and other drinksIve ever had!
MoreThese guys knocked it out of the park!I saw them using a smoke gun and had to ask for a Smokey old fashioned. They used a local whiskey. It was delicious!!
MoreWorst bartenders ever! I went in a Friday night with six of my friends. They sat us in the back there was no fan or any air flow whatsoever. It was very hot. Bartenders finally came to take our order. You can tell she wasn’t happy . We asked for ice since it was extremely hot. She wasn’t happy and brought just 1 cup of ice. Brought our drinks and never bothered to refill the water. The drinks were ok but again it was very hard to get her attention to get more drinks. We ended up leaving after one drink each. It was a very bad experience never again! Save your money and go somewhere else where they respect you.
MoreSuper crowded bar at Friday night. The food here is actually good unlike other bars. However, their cocktail quality is not stable. Two same cocktails can taste totally different. Still good at offering classic cocktail like Manhattan.
MoreNice little bar. The A1 burger was delicious. Great service from whom I believe to be a time traveling younger Jack Black... (I think his alias is Daron at this placeoverall great experience from a friendly staff.
MoreNice bar with european vibes. They have local whiskey offerings as well as other drinks and cocktails.Friendly staffOne of the few places that opens late these days in downtown
More10/10 would recommend to a friend! Seth, our server/bartender was great. He was helpful, patient and passionate about his craft. The food was great quality and flavorful ( we got the whiskey burger, fries, wings and tots!). Oh, and the food came out in maybe 10 minutes? They also had a heated outdoor pop up canopy. All in all, a nice night out.
MoreWhile I was in Seattle I wanted last minute dinner since everything closes at 10pm because of COVID. I found The Whiskey Bar’s kitchen was still open til 10.30pm & bar til 11pm, so I stopped by last minute. Bartender was friendly and the place was really cool and they had rock music playing in the background. Food was great. I ordered their Whiskey Burger with no bun and Salad as a side lol. Still, burger was fresh and juicy, Salad tasted good and Fresh. I’ll have to come back next time I’m in town to try some more their menu and listen to good music while enjoying your food and drinks.
MoreThey accommodated our group during COVID when most other places in belltown were closed. Friendly waiter told us cool stories. I had a burger with caramelized onions and loved it. They accidentally put meat in my friend’s dish who asked for it to be vegetarian, but the waiter apologized profusely and I think gave him his drink on the house after remaking the meal correctly.
MoreNice bar in Belltown. Drinks are great, had an old fashioned. We ordered few small plates which complimented the drinks. There was only one server for about 20 patrons...
MoreStopped in around midday for snacks and beers. Friendly staff and warm wood-paneled walls and booths. Impressive whiskey and bourbon menu, as well as numerous local drafts (which we went for). My homemade corn dogs were quite tasty with tots and seasoned mustard. The Mrs. enjoyed her Scotch Egg, which is hard to find even in Seattle.
MoreDrinks are amazing here. They have an entire booklet of whisky, and even offer flights to sample when you dont know what to choose. The staff is also knowledgeable about all their products and easily make suggestions (even when your guest knows absolutely nothing about whisky lol). I actually had their smoothie this time. It was a Frosé, and delicious! Girly, but still a good kick. I enjoyed it. Fish n Chips were just okay, but their tacos were bomb!!
MoreGreat bar with a very extensive list of whiskey from all over the world. Very knowledgeable bar tenders always ready to help you or make you discover something different. Cool trivia night on Mondays.
MoreGreat place, great bourbon selections. I had rock hill farms and old grandad 114, VERY reasonable pricing. Great conversations too, the barkeep was nice and attentive. We did not eat the food from here as my husband and I had dinner prior to arriving.
MoreThis place has such a nice atmosphere and the server was so kind and welcoming. The drinks too were so well balanced and I had one of my favorite cocktails ever here...a chai old fashioned I believe? Really delicious. Great fried cheese curds as well!
MoreVisited this place on a Saturday around 4pm. The place was pretty busy. Sat at the bar and asked the bartender if they do custom flights. They do! Jackpot!Since Im in America, Im going to order bourbon. The bartender is very knowledgeable and will help you select the Bourbons for the flights by asking probing questions. Also they will let you know about new whiskeys that they have that are not even on their extensive menu. They also provide a medicine dropper for you to add water to open up the whiskey and lots of water for yourself to stay hydrated.Definitely a great experience for a reasonable price. I will be back for sure!
MoreWhat a superb experience! Excellent service. All the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Thanks Tommy for an awesome night. We’ll be back for my whiskey and to try the scotch eggs!
MoreThe flight is really a good deal to try many different whiskies. Especially good if you want to try a bunch of them to decide if you want a bottle. The selection is vast!
MoreThe bartender was great. He knew a lot about the different whiskeys and was fun to talk to. I had no idea that different whiskeys had such different tastes. It was an adult educational experience as well!
MoreBusy after 8pm, great selection of all kinds of whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and other spirits. Quiet atmosphere even when its packed.
