Union Wharf, Market Harborough LE16 7UW, Market Harborough
Converted wharfside building with waterside patio looking onto the boats, plus Sunday carvery.
5 of us had lunch here in one of the pods. The food was outstanding, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks came quickly and the pod made it extra special. We would definitely go back again.
Great restaurant and bar, friendly staff and amazing food.
The Waterfront hosted our wedding meal and we cannot thank them enough. Right from the very beginning until the end Krzysztof was very helpful and so was every staff member involved. A special shout out to Alfie who doubled as our DJ!!The food was exceptional and we cant wait to return to try more of the menu! A massive thank you to everyone there who helped make our day so special.
Really nice location and nice venue. Upstairs could do with a beer tap as staff had to keep going downstairs to get beer on tap. Just would make it a bit smoother during big events like the wedding drinks we were at on Thursday. Staff were friendly but just need to make this change to make the experience a little smoother as we had to wait at an empty bar while staff were downstairs getting the drinks. Highly recommend
Nice location, good choice on the menu and pleasant staff. Was a bit slow but worth the wait
Only stopped for a coffee, beautiful location with a lovely canal side walk. Friendly staff
Very friendly and helpful service. Just the right amount of attentiveness. Great family feeling to the staff. Food was properly executed and portions were generous. They have a great selection of gins with a few speciality cocktails and will do their best to accommodate you. The wine list also impressed me. Great location, definitely worth having a drink outside to watch the sun set if you can.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, and friendly and chatty staff
Went last weekend for a family meal, it was clear after 20 mins that the very young staff didnt know what they were doin, we were also freezing as they have pods outside so the door was constantly opening and closing and we spent the whole evening getting up to close it. The chicken was over cooked and dry, the squid was over cooked too. They didnt clear our drinks glasses or starters when the mains were brought over. The staff, ie a couple of 18 yearolds had invited their mates in so were more interested talking to them. Not a nice dining experience at all, which was a shame as the food was OK, when we left the staff didnt even acknowledge us, no goodnight Thankyou. Wouldnt return
Great setting & friendly staff. The carvery was excellent - vegetables were aldente and the beef was just pink - perfect!
Enjoyable evening celebrating our friends birthday 🎂. Exceptionally Good food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very nice relaxed atmosphere - we choose this venue regularly to celebrate birthdays. Thank you!
I order fish and supose to be grilled but seems boiled and the portions was so small for a kids honestly for 17£ , my boyfriend and his family go for rost dinner but no mash potatoes at all and veg no taste for nearly 14£ each drinks expensive too .Place looks nuce autside but I dont recommend for Sunday dinner in family sorry but food wasnt even clouse to my expectation.
Food good but service needs sorting. Took far to long for our drinks to be served.
Have been for lunch today with three friends, disappointed with our main course of sea bass as the portions seemed extremely small we had a job to find any flesh on the fish ,The chicken in the chaser salad was dry and difficult to chew. Our sweets were nice and a lovely locationWe were also disappointed that theirs no disabled parking had to pull up on the road to help my partner out of the car and then go and park my car way down the road leaving him unattended and vulnerable to falling.
Lovely bar with great scenery and good service. I ordered the vegetarian Wellington and whilst it was nicely presented, it was quite bland.
Great food, location and atmosphere! Staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend!
Good food, lovely atmosphere and views.
Was hot so loved the air con. Great selection of ice creams. Attentive staff.
Great food and lovely friendly staff
Lovely place to sit by the small barge harbour with a drink and look out over the water good service nice and clean very tasteful and cosy...
Visited this establishment on a Friday lunchtime whilst visiting Market Harborough for the day. The pub was not busy however we were left with menus and told of several dishes not available. Service was very slow and it seemed as the staff on duty that day were unaware of who was covering what table as no one came back to take our food or drink order for quite a long while. (approx 15mins🤔). Food was OK but nothing special. We asked for a dessert menu and was again left for quite a while until we were asked if we wanted to order. The waiter emerged from the kitchen approximately 10 minutes later and proceeded to walk around the restaurant, outside and then back in again unable to "find the table who had ordered" so when we were finally given our dessert, one had to be sent back to the kitchen as the ice-cream had melted! For the prices charged the service needs to be addressed.
Chicken parmesan would have been nicer with more bechemel sauce and served with salad (it was a bit dry), however the service was quick and friendly, and the pub was very nice.
Had the duck absolutely burnt or should I say fried to a very dark skin was tough little bit of meat on the insideStaff are nice though. Would not recommend eating there
On a Sunday lunchtime, this place was heaving. The very small number of waiting staff struggled to get round so we were there for ages. But it was well worth it! The food (including a carverywas really very good and there were a lot of gluten-free options.
The food is amazing. Service is amazing although my fiance asked for a pint of juice and got a half pint and we asked for nachos without jalapenos but they were all over them. Would definitely recommend eating here.
Lovely relaxed setting next to the canal, with moorings for Barges. Good selection of beers and wines, menu looked good and reasonably priced. Friendly helpful staff and plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating.
This place is really nice especially on a lovely sunny day. It was great sitting by the canal and watchinh barges pull up. The food was ok and the staff lovely and friendly. The only reason I didnt give five stars was because of their prices!!! I thought that the prices were pretty expensive for the food that we got. I basically had a cheese & tomato roll with a small amount of side salad and it was £7.50!!! And it had the smallest amount of cheese in it. Our order altogether was 3 steak & mushroom rolls , 1 cheese & tomato roll , 2 bowls of cheesy chips (which were small1 Lager , 2 cokes , 1 tea & 2 coffees and it came to just short of £64!!!! It was only a light lunch. Much too Pricey. If I returned I most probably wouldnt eat there again. Sorry
Rude member of staff. food good. Went there to celebrate a special birthday and to meet up with friends that we havent seen because of Covid-19. We were standing and chatting around our table - only four other diners were there at the time - and we were rudely told to sit down at the table. We had pre-booked most of the guests meals but 1 member wanted to add a starter. I went to the bar to ask if that was possible to add and the same member of staff ordered me back to the table without asking me what i required. Drinks took ages to arrive 15 minutes in one instance (remember we were the only group other than the four diners mentioned earlier). On another occasion, my son in law enquired the whereabouts of our drinks and we looked over at the bar and there were two members of staff leaning against the back of the bar doing nothing?. The foreign lady that attended our table was excellent but seemed overworked, and the two young lads were brilliant. For ease of identification, the rude person was balding, and had tattooed arms and brought the wrong drink and tutted when he was asked to take it back.
Wonderful place for lunch which my wife and I had today. Right on the marina in Market Harborough. Great food and service. Extensive menu to choose from with a great range of food and drinks. Sit inside or outside. The choice is yours.
Absolutely stunning location. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Food was excellent and main meal portion sizes were very big, I couldnt eat it all. Would recommend to eat or just have drinks.
I absolutely loved this place. Took my parents here for lunch & I’m really pleased I did. The location, the food, the staff & service was outstanding. We went for a Monday lunch and it was busy, so I would advise booking to save any disappointment. The outdoor area overlooking the marina was beautiful too. I’m really glad I chose this place and mum n dad were too. Five stars all round. Thanks guys.
Lovely Sunday roast as always. This time we were seated upstairs with our friends, unfortunately it was so cold up there we kept our coats on during our meal. Sadly the meal didnt keep warm for long either, it was nice to get outside in the sunshine.
The Waterfront hosted the wake for my father and I can’t praise this place, or its team, highly enough. It’s a beautiful setting with lovely food and just superb hosting - the staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. It was a difficult day but choosing The Waterfront was a great decision. A very heartfelt thank-you.
I cannot tell you enough how amazing this place is. we booked one of the pods and it was beautiful so cozy and warm. love that there are wireless speakers you can hook your phone up to, to play your own music.the staff were amazing especially the lady who served us (wish I knew her name, short black hairthey were so friendly and did absolutely everything possible they could for youthe food was beautiful, gorgeously presented and got to be the best food Ive had out ever..(definitely recommend the beetroot and gin gravalax that was absolutely beautiful)would definitely come here again and urge everyone to take a trip down, you wont regret it
A lovely pub, situated in a spectacular location. It overlooks a harbour with long boats moored up. Although we only went for drinks, Sunday lunch was being served and the food looked really good. So will be going back for food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming despite not booking in advance we were given a table. A path runs along the river so can have a lovely walk. Would recommend this place.
Fantastic Service, Wonderful Food and Friendly and Accommodating Staff. We really can’t recommend this place enough. The lovely location, high quality food and great service helped make our Christmas party at the Waterfront one of the best we have ever had. Everything went completely to plan, service was prompt and on time, the food came out piping hot and tasty and a great atmosphere topped it everything off nicely. A special thank you to Christophe and all the team who dealt with both our large party and a busy restaurant very well indeed. Thank you for a great evening.
Good service. Food was lovely. Igloo dinner was a nice touch.
Waterside igloos are very good. The food looks great but it took a while for it to arrive and was average. Some of the staff seem to be busy while others actually are working hard and are doing a great job. Prices are reasonable.
Nice atmosphere. Parking was not clear and seemed very limited. Food was average but good service.
A great restaurant and bar in a very beautiful location. The food is delicious, great service and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Absolutely recommend the Waterfront.
Most enjoyable. Carvery but dished by the chefs and table service. Lovely piece of turkey. All the trimmings. Beautiful setting by the Union Wharfe. Food good.
Food looked amazing but was incredibly disappointing. The burrata & heirloom tomato salad had a pesto that tasted like the basil had gone to seed/could just have been a jar of sacla, the burrata was too cold and had no cream in it at all, the overall dish was unbalanced in acidity and also weirdly bland but over salted at the same time, the tomatoes were too cold & weren’t ripe enough. Bad.That’s just the starter. I had to send the main back after one bite and won’t be returning in a hurry. The manager didn’t even ask why I was returning the food or having it removed from the bill, so it’s probably not a surprise.. they’d even managed to murder a bowl of sweet potato fries!Plus points, the staff were lovely, it is a beautiful location looking out over the canal basin. Have a drink here, but don’t eat here.
1st time visit, the service was great, food was lovely, it did seem a bit chaotic, took quite a while to be served in between courses.
Great food, brilliant atmosphere. The staff were amazing, and the service was excellent. Good value too.
The afternoon tea in the igloo was fantastic and there was so much to eat! Great quality food. The negative to the event was the staff, they were impolite, slow and didnt even have the igloo ready for our allocated slot. Why insist on providing a time slot for an event if its not ready for that time?
Situated in a beautiful area. Wonderfully clean and well designed. Plenty of seating, friendly and very helpful staff. Went for the afternoon tea in an Igloo experience. Food came quickly, the igloo had blankets, heating and a Bluetooth speaker. Reasonably priced and the food was great. Very clean toilet facilities and good parking. Will absolutely be coming back again.
Lovely place food really good, gin wonderful, relaxed friendly atmosphere, scenery beautiful definately recommended.
Lovely post Christmas meal we attended for as a family. Food was great and well cooked and a good variety to choose from. Well priced and worth it. The igloos are a great touch and make it so much more cosy with a remote controlled heater, Bluetooth speaker and blankets. Would definitely recommend and return
Beautiful waterfront terrace. Great food and good service. Nice for an afternoon walk along the canal.
Lovely food first time we went ( scallop started and fish platter as a mainsecond had the same started , pain fired pork for a main started was really nice again main meat was hard to cut in to veg was over cooked and needed a sauce.
