Went here expecting to see some sort of artifacts or things like that as one does when going to a museum. This is more just pictures, text to read, and videos (some of which the screens were not working). Informative but Im not sure Id call this a museum. A bit expensive considering you can likely find all of this information in a documentary.

The historian-in-charge being very welcoming and informative, the museum itself was somewhat of a disappointment. A string of very stuffy rooms, with mostly a ton of screens showing fragments of documentaries on the history of the wall, our experience was...we could have had a similar experience looking up docs on YouTube. Sum total - underwhelming and over-priced.

Tired of these popup museum style all over the place in Berlin. Just collect a couple of artefacts and call yet another wall or DDR museum.

Surprisingly simple but well made. Kind reception and very serviceminded. Mostly videos timed where you move from room to room, but the effect is great. Maybe a little more context before you enter a room. Keep yourself oriented - what where who. Footage is excellent and the stories are personal. Liked it. 30-40 min, family or just adults, walk next to wall afterwards.

I absolutely suggest a visit at MAURER (placed immediately at the end of the East Side Gallery); it describes an important part of the Berlin history. Only "thumbs down" point is locating a Pirate restaurant just one floor below which can result disturbing and unrelated for visitors of the museum (at least thats my opinion)

I I love the place. It brings a solid experience of the time before, during and after Berlin wall. As soon as my friend and I arrived, a gentlement at the reception kindly greeted us by our names and showed us where to go. The museum is full of illustrations, videos and even the items from that time. You need like 1h to see everything in details. If you ask me, its definitely worth of it.

Sweet little exhibition with video installations in English and German. It can be a bit of a sensory overload in places, but it also doesnt eat up your entire day. We visited it as a part of our tour along the former Wall (Berliner Mauerwegand it provided for a good (and at times incredibly sadopening of the days leg of the tour.

Nice, but chaotic... Small rooms, lots of screens, sound coming from all corners, both English and German.. chaotic.

The museum is only ok for the price. It was really hot in most of the rooms. I didn’t love the layout either. I learned some things, but the message wasn’t cohesive throughout.Separate from the museum, the east side gallery is awesome. That’s not part of the museum though.

Kind of waste of time and money, all the information was presented in videos that are available to watch on YouTube, not real experience

They need to sort the experience out. All out of sync, no proper timeline or story flow. Half the headphones dont work. The videos feel like they were edited by some one on drugs, they are all over the place and make no sense. Thought I was going to go in and learn about the history of the wall, to be honest I came out none the wiser. Also the cleaner is trying to vacuum in the middle of the day around customers.

Really not impressed with the delivery of the content. I feel like it lacked A cohesive message—It was all over the place. Many of the props also didn’t seem cared for and some of the monitors and headphones were broken or not turned on. I feel like hiring a museum exhibition designer would be extremely beneficial for the guests at the museum alike.

In the last room of the Museum right in the time of exhibition the worker started vacuum cleaning and did it through the whole presentation, so that we couldn’t hear anything.Terrible experience when you want to look on the exhibition instead if listening to the sound of vacuum cleaner.

I enjoyed the video footage of people who experienced living with the wall. All videos had English subtitles but it wouldnt be very interesting for someone who doesnt speak English or German.Book online to save a couple of Euros too! Its more expensive to pay in the museum.

So helpful to give context of the wall! I was moved to tears and learned so much! Its really hard to find but basically on the 2nd floor of a big building/restaurant labeled Pirates. Give yourself at least an hour-90mins.

Very interesting even to people whom you wouldnt think would be interested (US teenagers, for instance), and everything is up to serious-historian standards.

I had never seen so much footage of the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall. It really hammers home how recent it was and how Berlin, Germany and the world are still dealing with the consequences today. It was truly very moving and heartbreaking. There is some heavy hitting stuff so make sure you are mentally prepared for it. At the end of the East Side Gallery so you can walk along the wall on your way to or from the museum. A refreshing change from the USA-centric narrative and details the role of Gorbachev and Germany in bringing down the wall. Cheaper than a lot of the other Wall Museums, this one is definitely worth a visit.

Simple but educational museum giving the background of the wall and stories of eastern German people, guards and escapees of this Soviet monument to oppression. The museum has numerous projections and video with many English subtitles and versions making this a great choice even for non German speakers. It is tucked inside the entrance to a bistro and is on the second floor. Much like the TARDIS is bigger that it looks.

I was moved to tears several times. Its a thought-provoking lesson about a tense/dangerous period in world history. For much of that period, the eyes of the world were focused squarely on Germany.

It is a pretty long walk to see the whole art, but I assure you that it is worthwhile. Some parts of the wall were covered when I visited due to some active construction work in the area, but rest of it was beautiful. A combination of traditional, modern, and abstract art can be seen. Night view of the river is splendid from the bank nearby, and is a must visit in Berlin.

So we visited after strolling around the murals on the wall. The staff was really polite and helpful, ready to answer any questions regarding the wall. The tour inside the museum was full of information, and covered the whole history. It seemed a bit disorganized in some parts, but definitely worth the experience.

The gentleman working at the counter was very friendly and the exhibition is very interesting, but I must say it is a little bit disorganized and some videos are confusing, with subtitles sometimes in German sometimes in English in a choice that seems pretty random. The museum has amazing potential but it needs better organization on how their stuff is presented. I would also suggest that it shows a map with the full extension of the original wall, cause I didn’t see anything like this there.

Unpretentious museum with a treasure of historic film content. Friendly to English speaking visitors. Most headphones are a bit broken though they are still in working condition. Would recommend this place.

Time to spend here: 1 hour. Languages: German and English. Not suited for large groups. Only a few people can go every 3 minutes.12 Euro submission is maybe a bit much for this exhibition. You will be done in about 1 hour. Still it is worth while to visit here and combine it in the beginning (or end, depending your starting pointwhen viewing the art on the walls (East Side Gallery). You will be lead from room to room and will watch mostly films where people in English or German will tell their stories about the wall going up and it coming down. Most people talk German so you dont need to put on the headphones if you prefer English (which is a good thing during Corona timessince you can read the subtitles.Next to the videos there are only a few plaques with text to read.Warning: I think there should be an epilepsy warning for 1 room where a concert by Pink Floyd is simulated.

Overall it provides a lot of interesting information about the history around the wall. Not worth 12.50 euro though. Very old fashioned ways of displaying the info, as though it hasnt been updated since the Berlin Wall was destroyed. Such a huge part of the history but quite poor organisation of the museum to present tell the story.

The museum is in a building located near the edge of the east side wall. For €12.50 per entry for adults, €6.50 for students, one can walk through different rooms (about 15 roomsand learn about its history. One can expect to find photos and recorded video accounts of survivors and guards. Its generally a good museum, Ive rated it 3 stars because of the entrance fee.

This long stretch of preserved Berlin Wall is painted in segments by different world artists and was impactful. The paintings looked fresh (seem to be repainted every 10 years judging by the marked dates underneath each one). Messages within each one not always clear/obvious so you need to pause a while to ‘read’ each one. There are a few that attract more attention and therefore crowds (the Brezhnev kiss and Trabant coming through the wallso if you want to capture a photo without people in it, come early in the morning. Plan your route by working out which end to start from ; we used Bus 300 got off at Ostbahnhof and then got on again at the other end (bus stop is in a side street 100m up from the end. Recommend you look at the other side of the wall which is covered in Grafitti and gives a different photo ; this is the one I’ve attached.

Not a good "museum", if we can call it that, at all. It is on the other hand very good to walk pass through the East Side Gallery next to it, where the wall is still there. Theres another, much much better, and real, museum around Gesundbrunnen neighbourhood you should visit if youre into history reggarding this subject. Good cold wat memorial

I visited this last week (Julyand literally there was nobody, just me 😂 the audio guide was broken unfortunately. Its super hot inside (outside 30 degreesthey say its an old building and cannot put a/c. Its mainly audio visual, several screen with old videos of the wall, interviews, political speeches... They say the building used to be a watchtower of the wall.

Small, cool museum to check out while youre already at the wall! The museum itself is pretty small - I got a chance to read and watch everything in about an hour. You could finish it faster if you prefer to read less. But it has some very interesting history about the Cold War and the history of the Wall. Also, theres a nice balcony with a great view of the river (see my attached photo!)Be sure to ask for the student discount. Also, if you speak to some of the salesmen outside, they hand you a flyer to the museum that gives you discounted prices and a coupon for a free piece of the wall! The piece of the wall isnt massive, but its about a 5 euro value and was a fun thing to take away with us!

The history of the famous "Berlin Wall" outlined in a very meticullous way combining many outstanding details! Very informative but a bit small. I oersonally expected something bigger than that regarding the location of the museum. Id rather call it an exhibition and not a museum.
