Nice hotel

Excellent location, nice property, lovely rooms. Could do better with upkeep and maintenance, though and more pro-active service.

Very DisappointingThis is obviously a hotel that one had glory but unfortunately seemed neglected. However I have been to other old Hotels and it was nothing like this.The bed had white Bedsheets that were white and send clean(didnt check further). The towel was a shade between beige and grey years of poor washing.There was allot of dirt, dusty old furnishing, cobwebs and stains! There was a long futon at the end of the bed, an old armchair and old curtains all of which must be the culprits of my agony. Ask the three were very dirty and marked with really varying ages of stains.I had I flight very early in the morning so I thought I could just stick it out but within 20 minutes I was coughing and sneezing and couldnt overcome the dank smell of old dirty fabric. I opened the door to the balcony and the window but it didnt help at all.So I just have up and left though the effort to stay had been made.Food: ??/10 cant say much since I made a last minute order.Staff: 7/10 Humble and helpful enoughCleanliness: 1/10Internet/WiFi: 10/10Location: 5/10 easy movement but no easy access to attractions.EYried Jadora which is very clean but it was fully booked though any they gave me some options to check out eventually ended up at very clean Motel called G7 up the hill.

Inside: Great 👍👍....but needs a new paint outside. Very kindly staff. Needs a new Chief or train the current one asap. The food was an F. By all means dont ask for chicken biryani 😀.... You will thank me later....

It is just an average place to stay . Not worth its cost. Management is just average. Please avoid if you can.

It is a small Budget hotel although it looks very old and not classy, the pictures from the internet can be deceiving, no offence but the place looks totally different compared to what i saw from the internet, but well for 40k, 50k, 60k and 70k tops one can be on the budget and stay here.

Much better than expected. The rooms were lovely, and the service was excellent. The food was fine - local but very tasty. All in all a highly recommended place to stay in Bukoba. Stay in the best room available. Staff were happy to add an extra bed for kids, including a box spring.

The Walkgard Transit Hotel is a lovel place located in a beautiful and peaceful section of Bukoba. While the main road hosts a few hotels that are bustling, just around the corner are more residential streets. Situated close to the lake, it is easy to walk down for picturesque views of Lake Victoria.The only limitation of the hotel is accessibility. There are first floor rooms, but no singles there. Prices are affordable for westerners, so that would be an option and the entrance is easy to navigate for those with wheels. I use a rollator walker and chose to keep my second floor room that was booked, as I use my wheels mainly for energy/stability-related issues and the stairs were not a problem that day. I dont recall steps to enter the building itself, bar patio or restaurant. A host of attendants were around to help with luggage and items and the desk was happy to keep my wheels downstairs, saving me the trouble of bringing them up and downstairs.The room itself was comfy and had a boutique feel. Although small, it was elegantly appointed for a very reasonable price. Hot shower and hot sink water, a luxury compared to my modest urban and village stays around TZ, was much appreciated and there my only regret is that I left my shampoo and conditioner in Dar es Salaam.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Walkgard Transit and hope my fate brings me back to Bukoba for a nice stay in the future.

I lodged for two nights, the place is good though it needs some facelift. However the customer care is excellent

Absolutely brilliant place, excellent quality rooms, tasty food, fantastic service, lovely bar area.One of our very best hotel experiences in Africa.Ive stayed in five star hotels with worse service. Everybody was friendly, smiley and helpful. Highly recommended and will definitely stay again if Im in the area.
