A vast selection of single-malts & beer pairs with inventive burgers in a rock ’n’ roll atmosphere.
Amazing burgers and brunch! The beef is very high quality and its cooked perfectly. I highly recommend checking out their brunch. We had the coronary bypass breakfast wrap and the Mac n cheese burger. Incredible! This place is 21 and over as it should be so leave the kiddies home or do take out.
Best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not exaggerating either. I got the Texas burger and substituted the cheese that came on it with their whiskey pimento cheese and added bacon to it. The seasoning they put on it was next level, you could taste it in every bite, I just couldn’t stop eating. Their house beer paired really well. Photos don’t do it justice. Go there immediately!!!
Finally made the trip down to Midtown Atlanta to experience The Vortex .. a bar and grille establishment for adults known for their burger options .. the vibe was fun, the music was good, and burgers were very tasty .. a must if you are in the Atlanta and in the mood for some really good burgers
These guys really DO serve the best damn burgers in Atlanta. The meat was seasoned to perfection. You must be 21 or older to enter here, but the burgers are super worth it. Theres also a comedy club in the back that seemed pretty lively that I didnt check out. If youre looking for a burger, I would highly recommend the Vortex. Parking is directly across the street for 15$ to midnight.
From the moment I walked in, I saw this place has a lot of character and I loved it. From the music, to the menu (which was soooo funny!), to the decor. We were supposed to go to the original location but ended up going to the second location which was closer to other places we were planning to go to next, but it did not disappoint! The server was helpful and knowledgeable, the food came out quickly and wowwww it was good!! If we were locals (which the friend who brought us there is, and he goes there alllll the timeI cohld tell it would become a standard spot of us too. I would have loved to try everything on that menu, there were a lot of unique and traditional options, going there only once on out trip was a mistake I will not make next time were in ATL!
@hotlantasigns and @hotwheelsn8 and I went to lunch downtown Atlanta today.. I absolutely love the blacked blue burger.. and you know my 2 favorites are the fried pickle spears and the "wrecked" tots.
Theme and decor is funLots of bar area and a large assortment of beer if you’re just in for drinksThe mutha cluckin chicken and Mac and cheese chimichanga are very similar. There was less Mac and cheese than chicken in the chimichanga which could be a good or bad thing I guess depending on your preference. Bottom line is they’re both good, but they’re similar enough you don’t need to order both unless you’re just curious.Burgers are solid and the meat is quality.I had a four horsemen - wish the horseradish had been more powerful or that there had been more of it. Grilled onions and mushrooms were great. The whole thing is a little hard to eat, but with the help of a fork there was none left.On a side note they also have impossible burgers ( though they are cooked on the same grill as the meatblack bean patties, and grilled chicken as well. I might try that next time since I don’t normally do a lot of red meat.Fried cheesecake is a little hard to cut, but super delicious. Funnel cake fries are tasty as well if you want something easy to share.Overall this place is great and on the rotation while we are in town. We will be back.
Certainly didnt live up to the hype. Had the full house salad with a sirloin burger on top. It was good, but just average. I could have gotten a much better burger a couple of doors down @ 5 Guys. I guess people are impressed by the decor and atmosphere though. Ill take excellent food over looks anyday! At least I can say I tried it.
My Family and I ate dinner here this evening for the first time. Great atmosphere. The restaurant itself is clean. For the Appetizer we ordered the Cheese balls O Glory with the Jalepeno Ranch sauce and it was super delicious. I had ordered the Swiss cheese burger with grilled onions and it was good. Ive honestly had a better burger. My Husband ordered the Big-naked Weenie and he said it was good. The chili was spicy he said. My momma ordered the Yankee Reuben and she enjoyed that. My Brother ordered the Havana En Atlanta and he said it was okay. Its definitely a party scene atmosphere, the music is really loud so everyone is yelling.
I want to go back to ATL just to bite into this burger and tator tots. It is sooo good!
During our 4 day trip to Atlanta we stopped in the vortex at least 2 or 3 times! We love both locations, but the midtown location was right next door! Their food && drink lists are massive so you WILL find something to your liking! We are NEVER disappointed coming to The Vortex, so thanks y’all for always making our trips to Atlanta that much better (:
It was very packed when we arrived but we able to snag some seats at the bar. The bar tender was very nice and attentive and despite how busy it was we didn’t really wait long for much. The burger and zucchini fries were bomb as was my cocktail (not too much ice, very flavorful). I will definitely come back. The location in Little 5 Points is closer to home, so I’ll probably check that one out next time
It’s was good good good out waiter wasn’t as friendly but it was a Monday I get it but other then that it was a good experience!!
Absolutely loved this place! First time for us and it was a 10/10. Ryan (sorry if I misspelled thatis an incredible server. Super chill, funny, and nice. We had the Holy Guacamole, Hot Southern Mess, Dragonberry Tea, and the Midnight Train to Georgia! Food was cooked to perfections and great flavour. The drinks were a perfect mix of strong and we could taste each flavour combo. Everything was spot on. Definitely will come back and tell others about this place! :)
This place has bomb food! We went for lunch and enjoyed every bite! And you can’t beat an $8 cocktail! The service was awesome! Erin was so nice and accommodating! We will definitely be back!
Almost 2 hours in and no good. Waitress also messed up our checks. My fries were like Little Rock’s. 2 stars cause the burger was good. Couldn’t even order dessert because the restaurant took so dang long. My God. Do better.
Saw this place on the food channel the night before flying to Atlanta which looked amazing so we added it to our list of places to try! Needless to say, it did not disappoint!!! Sooo delicious and so many unique burger options! I got the Fat Elvis burger which came with peanut butter, bacon and sweet plantains. My husband got the Pickle Rick Burger. Both were amazing!!! Also recommend the margaritas here, so good! Great vibe, great food and amazing service!
Delicious, burgers everything dinners drive in & dives said it was
Great place to stop when in Atlanta. Food was good, prices were alright, and service was great. Decor is really neat and it was kind of refreshing they checked IDs (it seemed they are strict on their policy of 21+ which sets a more adult vibe- no kids running around- yay)
I absolutely loved it! I ordered a skull crusher and a single coronary bypass burger and it was delicious as hell! I dont go out to bars and stuff mainly because I dont enjoy crowds and things of that nature but I really enjoyed being in there and my waiter was awesome and coll af! Thanks Ty! Would highly recommend coming here if you live here or new to the area or just passing through.
Our visit here was great. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The burgers were fantastic. Nice selection of draft beers as well.
Although it is a bar, the burgers are the biggest and baddest burgers you have seen or eaten. The challenge is now on!
definitely in my top 10 burgers of all time! Very tasty, I had the Pickle Rick, the pimento cheese topping was delicious. Jen had the Holy Guacamole. Tasty as well.
Stopped by on a recommendation and got the Pickle Rick! Best burger I have ever had. Next time I am in Atlanta I will be coming by again. Oh and the front and back cover of the menu is a must! If you know you know!
The food was excellent and the drinks are STRONG, great service all around. Im gonna cry all the way home to California we dont have a place like this back home.
what an awesome place! great atmosphere and implacable service. we saw the vortex on the show Man vs Food and weve been wanting to try it ever since. I got the Hells fury burger a d IT WAS HOT 🔥...so good though. The vortex bar and grill is adults only. they check IDS at the door.
Ordered some food through door dash for pick up, went to got get my order was a bit impressed and was considering coming back. Asked the bartender 3 times to check on my order and how long it would be. After waiting for 15 minutes and asking a server to check only for them to just be accepting the order almost and hr later. Definitely wont be back.
Really good food! Enjoyed the burger, bit of a mess. Mule cocktail was also good.
I love Vortex. Its the right amount of funky. I have only visited when its not too busy. The food is so tasty, and the price is low considering the amount and quantity.
1st time visiting the Vortex. Great concept for a chain, has a Ma and Pa feel to it however, and the decor is over the top but it works. It gives off and intriguing atmosphere like you are not in a restaurant but in a Tim Burton type universe. Just like the restaurant decor, there are a few menu items that are clearly excessive but somehow they pull it off. Will definitely be going back to this establishment at some point.
Went here for my birthday! Atmosphere was fantastic! Drinks were awesome and food was delicious! Definitely will return
Only reason I’m giving two stars is because the ambiance and the food here were great. My drink and the customer service experience I had were terrible. I ordered an old fashioned and it came out very watery and seemed like it had been sitting. When I asked the server if I could have it remade, she said that’s how old fashions are made there. I’ve ordered old fashioneds all the time and I make them at home and I know for a fact that spirit forward cocktail is not supposed to be watery. When I asked if I could just order something else to drink she said that I would still be charged for the old fashioned and the bartender was also the manager on site so she won’t remake the drink or comp it either. This server was incredibly rude and not apologetic at all. Don’t recall the servers name but she was a blonde woman.
Famous bar & grill in Midtown Atlanta, fun place. Good food, excellent service, great prices!
I had picked this spot based on some reviews and wondered if it would awesome weird or annoying weird. Its much more on the awesome side. Super quick service, and both burgers were great. Fried plantains were sweet and salty, a great side. Great looking bar rail ... but it was lunch so didnt get to sample. Exactly what I was looking for.
It was good. Good selection of food.It is a bar for the whole establishment. No minors. A family got kicked out because the children were under 21. Not sure if they were 18.There are a few adults only themed decorations
Expecting a greasy mess but the burgers were very good not greasy at all. The house beers were very good and cheap. Onion rings are better than the fry’s. Service was also very good.
Really fun place and nice drinks. Location had a lot of quirky things displayed all over the place. Its connected to a comedy club as well. The food wasnt bad and the drinks were good.Service was mediocre at best. Not sure if it was a training issue. There were 5 of us in our party and the server brought us 4 waters. She told us she will get us one more. It took 30 minutes and 2 more requests to finally get the additional glass of water. Similar situation for the refills. The drinks also took a very long time to arrive and one of the beers was wrong. The food took the longest. And it wasnt the business Tuesday night when we went.Overall, it was a nice place to hang out. Service wasnt the best though.
The place was amazing server was good ND the food amazing. There is a full bar aswell
First time here and will come again every chance I get. The prices here are wonderful, even when every other restaurant is rising prices. The wait for the food was not a long wait and when the food finally arrived, it was hot and fresh. Disregard the way the food look because I was hungry and forgot to take pics before I started eating. The spicy turkey meat chili was delicious and it was only $5 bucks, the alcohol drinks was $5 bucks as well!! The chiliwas season right and the cornbread that came with it was good too. The fried pickles was an added bonus and would order them again.
Went here with my Son who recently turned 21. The food was good. We especially liked the smothered tots( Dixie Wrecked TatersWe had a good time.
I got the classic bypass burger and it did not disappoint. The meat is really well seasoned. I also got the tots "dixie wrecked" and they were amazing. The service here is awesome too!
Fantastic place to grab lunch. Not too busy, not too loud, a great fun atmosphere. The menus are a riot. The burgers are incredible. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, good but not ridiculous portions (save the coronary burgers). Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the right amount of attentive. Definitely will come back again!
The Vortex is so much fun great burgers great atmosphere and strong drinks. We also finally visited the laughing skulland really enjoyed ourselves all the comics were really funny
Just so happened to be downtown ATL and stopped by The Vortex Bar & Grill. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. Was not expecting it. Glad I stopped by and will definitely drop in again. Thank you to the entire staff!
Fun spot. Clean restrooms. Crazy decor! Friends and I came here for a get-together. Had a good time. Server was a bit busy but we were still able to enjoy ourselves.
Really cool place to grab a bite to eat! The decor is super unique and makes the dining experience really fun! Good food and great service!
I loved the atmosphere in this place such good vibes! The staff was extremely friendly from the front to the back of the house and everyone had a smile on their face! The food is really good too so many options for one of a kind burgers! We only ran into one problem which was waiting for drink refills. We waited forty minutes and the drinks never came and we were ready to leave. When the bill came the drinks we never received were still on the tab and we had to go back and forth with our waitress just to get them taken off which put a damper on things a bit but still a great time!
Road trip continues into Atlanta seeking out the best burger. Well this came close. Great atmosphere, and super attitude from the server, and barkeep. And they even have a 9,000 calorie burger. I did not have this just went with the classic hamburger with some funnel cake fries. Lettuce, onion, and tomato all fresh and burger cooks how I like it. Another must go to place. Looking forward to the comedy show this weekend.
$3 mystery shots and epic foods. Server was kinda distant and felt very much like she had better things to do. I was seated under the animal heads and couldnt move which ruined my appetite. Foods great though. Next time Ill just order out.
The Vortex Bar & Grill is for adults only. The bar has great drinks and there is often a special on the board. The Lemon Drop shot was my favorite drink. The Buttery Nipple is quite good also. The food is cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the loaded potato salad and the salad. This a great place to hangout and catch up with friends.
