The Vineyard Wine Bar - Wine bar in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Honestly I was too drunk to remember most of it but I had a good time
Great little bar with an interesting selection of drinks
Good bar. Professional staff. Nice atmosphere. Be careful of toilet attended. Not good at all.
Cocktails are perfect, made properly, not just thrown together, good little vibe this place has. Really like it here.
Lush little bar, highly recommend the Kraken Martini
Ambience spot on, staff brilliant, enough said.
Great little Spanish themed wine bar, try the sangria!
Absolutely shocking. I would give 0 stars if I could have left a review on 0! Attempted a drink here last night for my husbands birthday. Paid a silly price for a ‘so called’ Prosecco! It was in fact the cheapest cava you could buy. I informed the bar lady that served me that I couldn’t drink it as it was vile and it was not Prosecco. The manager was very rude and told me ‘it is Prosecco’! Then he picked up a completely different bottle out of the fridge and said ‘this is the only Prosecco we have’ which was an entirely different bottle to the one that she poured for me! Then he looked at the bar lady and said ‘show me which bottle you used’ with a very scary glare and she proceeded to point to the bottle that he had showed me! Feel very sorry for the staff to be honest with a manager like that ! Then he tried to point the blame to myself and said I must have had too much to drink ( had only had one drink)! Absolutely appalling. Will never return. Just to add to my accurate review - this is not a false accusation as the manager has accused me of in his rude reply. This is 100% fact. I was not served the Prosecco which I paid for. When I look back at other reviews, other people have said the same. The owners awful attitude comes across in his reply - the same as when I visited on Sunday. If there is any issue on the hospitality industry that will be down to the owners bad attitude and serving the cheapest of drinks, not the Prosecco or drinks paid for by the customer. Terrible beyond belief!
Good service, busy but still able to get a seat
Very busy ,hard working staff but not a place for me
Nice atmoshpere. Finest whiskey Ive ever tasted and the staff is friendly and funny.
Poor selection of beers....OK, its a wine bar. Cramped, toilets in the dungeons and very small. Couldnt get out quick enough. Sorry.
Crowdy? No one bothered about little space. Homely atmosphere, testy beer. Pretty women. Feels like everyone is welcomed. Thanks Wine Bar.
Tables werent very clean and drinks took a long time despite it not being very busy. The cocktails were good though
Was perfect for an afternoon drink. Wine was lovely and came recommend from a lovely bar staff.
A firm fav on the Newcastle bar scene. Great for a relaxed drink and a good catch up with friends.A hidden treasure of a must go to!A fantastic selection of beers, wines and cocktails.Always great chatty friendly staff. Now with an outdoor seating area to watch the world go by or people watch.
Utter Rubbish, unfriendly staff, and poor service, moved from table to table to accommodate bigger groups of people. Never again !!!
Strange old place for me. I associate it 100% with carnage of the utmost variety. This is solely because whenever I go Im already on the way to Aleville Centrale and this bar always seemed to serve the incredibly easy low alcohol.....Duvel! As a beer drinker this propelled me to Destination Wasted at Mad Max nitro speed. I quite often reached the next level of intoxication turbo style, so the night was nigh on game over for me, when a more (unavailableeasy drinking bevvie was far more realistic. It has existed for many years and serves some good varied alcohol. It is absolutely perfectly situated on the intersection of heavy hitting social Newcastle streets, yet a few minutes away from polar opposite cheapish Bigg Market joints. See what you think!
Lyydia makes the best Mojito in all of Newcastle. If you like them this is the place to go. It is small but do not judge it. Service is quick and friendly. Is my to go place for cocktails.
Lovely little bar with a holiday feel.cocktails are lush .cosy interior went during the day felt welcomed.this place is well worth a visit
Went in there Saturday evening with my wife and two friends.Utterly broken on Sunday. Am giving five stars as although I have very limited recollection of actually being there, to feel like I did on Sunday, it must have been amazing
Awful barmaid and extremely rude to paying customers. I dont expect to be served water instead of vodka. Charged me double after asking for another shot of vodka as it had no vodka in it. Dont go to this bar if youre after a drink. I got a round of 5 drinks and not one of us got any alcohol in out drinks. An absolute con of a bar
Interesting bar on Grey St. Pricey though.
A limited selection however everything you could ever need to start your night of. Tasty Prosecco cocktails, fun shots, nice cigars, great venue, outstanding staff and a great bouncer keeping the place safe. Not cheap but always worth it.
Amazing cocktails. Nice beers and good selection of wine. Nice chilled atmosphere
absolutely lovely staff and amazing shots! the vibe is so chilled out and I’ll definitely be returning. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE
Yes, the place promotes itself as a wine bar rather than a pub but Id still expect more than just one choice of beer, especially when that beer is Duvel!!
Always a nice place when its quiet. Got a few weird looks from the barman on shift on 17th Jan 19 @ 21:00. This is possibly due to being a male with a male companion so maybe he was not used to that, but other than that this is usually my to go place when I just want a chilled drink.
Good little bar with great music at an excellent location. Good selection of bottles of beer, wines and even sell cigars!!!
Love this bar. The cocktails are absolutely amazing and they now have a bigger range of beers that are really pleasant. The atmosphere is always relaxed and fun, with a Cuba style about it. Music is upbeat but not too loud so you can still hold a converstaion. A favourite of mine and my wife, so will most definitely return. Staff are great too. A more mature crowd but great fun and perfect for couples.
My husband and I went here twice in a Saturday night we liked it so much! First we went earlier in the night, around 10:30pm, where it was crowded but not overwhelming so. A HUGE pour of wine (no measurement yay!!was only a little more than a fiver- I’m used to the same price for half that glass in London! The bartender was helpful and cheerful and the music was not too loud to block out convo. After pregaming we went to Soho Rooms next door to dance for a few hours and then came back for another round at The Vineyard as it was playing Latin music (yes!!and there was some dancing. No cover either time. We left after a while but had such a good time.
One of my favourite bars in town, been coming here with my girl-friends for almost 10 years. Always an ending point of the night, great music and most punters are friendly and eager to dance with you to the latin/Spanish music!
At first it looked like a good bar to dance with your friends and meet new people. It actually was like that until we got kicked out of the place for no reason, something quite disappointing that has never happened to me before. I wont go in there again and I dont reccomend anyone doing it as I can see more comments about similar problems with this bar.
Interesting place with a unique feel, but gets far too rammed to be enjoyable and the arrogant staff try and rip you off with half-poured measures (witnessed 1st hand, right in front of me, hence the review). In a city with so many alternative venues, I couldnt recommend this one.
Probably one of the worst clubs I have ever been in this city. And probably, some of the most bad mannered bosses I ever met.I paid 5£ to get in and stay there with my friends. They said we had to leave for a truly stupid reason, apparently we were dancing in a place that is not a dancing area, even though I have seen people in other occasions dancing there for months. Then on the street, we ask our money back, but obviously they did not give it back. The boss of this place, and his guards should take care of how they treat their customers.
Can always guarantee a good night in The Vineyard, a lovely little bar with a great atmosphere in Newcastle. The bouncers, bar staff and owner are always very friendly and polite (they were especially helpful when I injured myself there not too long ago as well).Music is always great, it almost feels like youre on holiday. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good night out in a welcoming, quirky setting.
Vineyard used to be my go-to place every weekend for months, so its a shame that after so long I have to resort to reviewing this place negatively. In fact, if there was an option to give zero stars, I would have done so. With a series of incidents, I probably should have written this review earlier and just stopped returning (though my love of reggaeton prevented me from doing so).Vineyard has been changing massively since January, implementing entry fees of £5 (which they will decide on the night which individuals they would like to chargeas well as charging excessively for drinks, and demanding a minimum spend of £10 if paying by card (which I suppose isnt too hard if a single drink can be £9 and a shot £3.. expensive!)Managements effort to change the establishment into something more "upper class" is unfortunately resulting in the loss of the long adored vibe of the establishment. Rules have been implemented determining where you can and can not dance, and if youre truly unaware of these rules, breaking them unknowingly, you get the boot. After months of dancing in a certain part of the bar, the owner suddenly decided he didnt like it, so decided to kick us from the bar just an hour after we entered. Explaining some of the group paid £5 to enter, he refused to even listen to our concerns, let alone issue a refund. The owner, claimed the bar is not a "dancing club", but rather a sit down and chat quietly wine bar, despite the loud music suggesting otherwise. Suddenly he wants to change what I feel, and what many others likely feel, what vineyard is all about - enjoying a night dancing to international music. So, as it goes, hes lost several valuable, and loyal customers. A shame, really, perhaps treat customers with more respect and this wouldnt happen. Just a thought.
Vineyard is a unique little bar that always has a great crowd and fantastic music. Friday and Saturday nights are especially lively and are great if you like a dance! Theres a broad selection of drinks with generous measures. The bar staff, door staff, DJ and management are always attentive and friendly. After 10 years of visiting Vineyard, I always find it to have a great atmosphere and would highly recommend it for a good night out with friends!
Great selection of cocktails in a character full bar and cosey area. Staff are always attentive. Bar has a worldly feel with a awesome music selection.
Spanish feel. Not to big but really nice, good staff, good wine and good prices. You can get cigars.
We are tourists and we visited this place for the first time, and the security person told us that we have to wait outside (In the coldas they have a limit on people entering the place. While we were waiting there, a few English people were allowed to get in. Then 3 people left the bar, and we asked the security man if we could get it at that moment. Another person(looked like the managertold us that they could go outside to smoke and return in half hour so we still could not enter the bar. If we would not be allowed to enter you should tell us in the first place, and also you should tell us the reason too. Very rude and racist staff!
The people who run this bar are the worst sort of people. Claim publicly that people who are poor lack ambition. The bar isnt even that good and there are much friendlier and better quality establishments where you can buy quality alcohol without the terrible attitude throughout the city centre
I love the caiprinha they do here. Its not a cheap bar but its a lovely place and worth splashing out for a really good couple of drinks
BEST BAR EVER! They sell the best rum ever, which is obviously Old J! The lovely owner got me two Old j t-shirts! Best bar staff!
The place is very friendly.. One should try different types of cocktails.. And very diversified people out here..!!!
Always visited this place until tonight where the security man told us that we have to wait outside (In the coldas they have a limit on people entering the place. After waiting for 10-15 minutes, four people were let in, without any ID checks. When I asked the security person why we have to wait outside while other people are let in, we were told that "the rules change according to the weather" and that "its his business".
Good selection of cocktails. The bar can get very busy on weekends. Not much in the way of seating.
Good international selection of music, staff and regular clientele seem friendly, a great place to go for unusual cocktails and spirits.
A specialised Winebar for connoisseurs...Lovely Place , Great wines and Best Selection of Champagne , its a Winebar so dont expect to have a beer ..Only Duvel available...So Bubbly :)
Visited on a tuesday night and accordingly it was quiet. The only beer available was Duvel. But then not everyone likes seven percent Belgian beers...
