The Villa in Anuradhapura

Reasonable place. Clean and comfortable bed and room. Warm water with low water pressure just enough to shower in. A/C okay only, used ceiling fan also. Excellent welcome drinks and a fresh crepe with lemon and sugar. Dinner of rice and curry was superb, restaurant quality presented nicely. Candles on the table and mosquito coils burning made it lovely to eat outside. Breakfast disappointing as no flexibility, too much continental (white toast, margarine & marmaladeit fusion (western & Sri Lankanbreakfast food and too light a meal for us active people cycling all day. On a mainly dirt road from one direction A20 but a sealed road from Anuradhapura A12, so take the A12 route.

Chambre très agréable, literie confortable, salle de bain spacieuse. Villa au fond dune rue très calme. Jardin fleuri avec des paons dans le voisinage. Les repas sont délicieux et servis dans sur lagréable terrasse. Il vraiment recommandé de les prendre à cette guesthouse car la villa est excentrée du centre ville, bien préciser not spicy car certains plats peuvent être assez relevés (possibilité de commander de la bière malgré ce qui est indiqué dans un précédent commentaire). Le petit déjeuner est délicieux. Hélas pas de piscine. Votre hôte vous remettra une carte et des indications pour visiter la ville sainte.

We really enjoy our stay ! Its clean, the owner and his wife were really nice ! The dinner was really good and the breakfast was so good. We had a nice time

Nous sommes restés 2 nuits. Sanjeewa, le propriétaire se mets en 5 pour satisfaire ses clients. Rien a redire bien au contraire. Les repas sont succulents, la maison est située dans la forêt, etc, etc...tout était vraiment parfait!En téléphonant directement, Sanjeewa vous accordera une bonne remise.Seul petit bémol, pas de frigo dans la chambre et pas dalcool servi a table.

We only stayed one night here and wished we could have stayed for more. Sanjeewa is such a helpful host and goes out of his way to make your stay as relaxing as possible. He is also an amazing chief so dont miss out on the evening dinner if you stay here. Very comfortable bed and beautiful view from the bedroom window.

The best home stay we stayed in. Fantastic food for breakfast and definately opt to take the additional evening meal too. A great oasis just outside town to explore the ancient city. We will be going back.

Stayed for 3 nights here and I still want more. The owner is a friendly and honest man, he tried to help me as much as he can. Room is comfortable and spotless. Breakfast and dinner are the highlight. The home cooking is traditional and delicious.Will surely come back in the future and I think they are the role model of all guesthouse in Sri Lanka

Cucina eccellente, stanza pulita, posizione comoda. Proprietario molto disponibile. possibilità di noleggiare biciclette per visitare le aree di maggior interesse della città.Ci ha anche procurato un driver per aeroporto di negombo ad un prezzo molto vantaggioso.

The man running this place is super professional and a very friendly person. The room was also excellent and the bed super comfortable. We stayed here about one year ago and we still remember his kindness and his excellent breakfast and dinner! The best we had in Sri Lanka!! :)We love this place and will come back for sure if we visit Sri Lanka again!

Best place to stay, very friendly and helpful host. Best breakfast and dinner you can have in the guesthouse. Really worth staying here. House owner also helps with what to see and arranging tuk tuk driver to get you around. Only thing is that those driving services might not be the cheapest you can get, but they do the job really good. Would recommend to anyone.

Theres so many 5*s for a reason. Incredibly hospitable hosts, 5* luxury bedroom and Top quality restaurant-style food. Could not ask for anything more. Thanks so much!!

This place was fantastic, incredible value for money. Sanjeewa was a great host, cooking up the most incredible breakfasts and dinner in the three bedroomed villa. The room was very comfortable with hot water, good shower, massive bed with proper bedding/duvet. He even did a laundry for ja and allowed use of bikes for quick trips out.He organised our tuk tuk trips to Mihintale and around the old city too which were excellent. Highly recommend this place!

Schön sauber, Riesenbett, sehr engagierter und freundlicher Host.Liegt ein wenig abseits, ist vielleicht auch gut so.Unbedingt dort Frühstück und Abendessen nutzen, lohnt sich.Erstklassiges Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.Must do: Fahrradfahren !

The real star here is the food. The owner worked in professional kitchens abroad (Singapore or Japan, if I remember correctlywhich nurtured his love of cooking, and brought it all back to start his own place. The food is outstanding, worth it for that alone (esp considering that there arent many decent places to eat in Anuradapura). Which is not to say that the rest of the place gets short-shrift. Its clean, personalized, very friendly - highly-recommended.Only downside: The bikes we rented from them were serviceable, but could have been better maintained ...

Unbelievable great food! You cannot miss it!! The family running this place are special, they will do everything to make your stay perfect.

The Villa is a wonderful place to stay, because of the attention to detail but mostly because Sanjeewa makes you feel so welcome. The Villa is beautiful, the food excellent; all in all probably the best place to stay in Anuradhapura!
