Very beautiful park to walk and relax and enjoy the sun.
A really amazing place to visit the different sculptures! The place is well maintained and windy! Really a nice place for picnic. We took quite a fair bit of time to find the “Angry Boy” sculpture. Haha! But it’s a good experience. I will definitely be back again!
A must see for a weekend trip to Oslo. Spend an hour here and enjoy Vigelands sculptures and the beautiful park as well. But where can we buy ice cream here - anyone?
Lotta grass, lotta áss, lotta sculpture, lotta flowers. Very nature, much water, nice time! Good park 10/10 would park here again.
Such a beautiful artistic place. Each sculptures are a masterpiece. I enjoy each and everything. Well spent weekend.

Oslos Iconic park . visit park in early hours, and floral season for gorgeous ambiance.
Beautiful park with ton of sculptures
I love such places. Full of nature and art. Clean and perfectly cut grass everywhere. You can see the tremendous amount of work put into this place. Very nice and inventive sculptures, everyone sees something different in them. They stimulate the human imagination. Everything is thoughtful and interesting there. You can calm down and relax here, and it is difficult to find such places in the capital. For families with children, couples and solo people, its also cool that a lot of people sit here on blankets and have a picnic, play games and sports, which is why there is so much energy here.
Very beautiful and spacious park with many sculptures worth seeing that represent the cycle of life. Admission is free and the atmosphere is especially wonderful in the evening at sunset.
Nestled within the grounds of Frogner Park, the installation of Vigeland sculptures is one of Oslo’s premier attractions. Although locals and tourists tend to refer to the area using separate monikers (I.e. “Frogner” vs. “Vigeland” Parkit is equally popular among both and the two are essentially indistinguishable. The works of art were created by Gustav Vigeland and completed between 1907 and 1942. The 214 bronze and granite sculptures cover an area of 80 acres and are accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no entrance fee.Initially, this wasn’t on my list of “things to do” but thanks to the SAS strike granting me a few more days in the city I passed through here on multiple occasions. The first was a more thorough, somewhat regimented visit starting at the main gate and continuing down the 930-yard main axis. The Children’s Circle was the first stop before crossing The Bridge on the way to The Fountain and Monolith, with a visit to The Sundial completing the survey. I then branched out a bit to see The Clan to the northeast and The Triangle to the southwest. Several future visits were spent returning to particular sculptures I found of interest or merely wandering around the various areas of the park before having dinner at The Manor restaurant or visiting the associated museum (see separate review). People watching is a must, as is watching the sun rise or set (or ideally both). In summary, it is easy to see why this is the country’s most visited tourist attraction. It can be appreciated on multiple levels: as a green space with pretty surroundings, a place for quiet contemplation in the off-hours, an academic exercise in artistic expression, etc. One could spend an entire day just studying the bronze reliefs around the fountain’s outer edge or the granite-carved groups around the monolith, or spend a half-day having a family picnic and throwing a frisbee around. My advice? Pick your routine and enjoy. Or just show up and go with the flow. Or both. Either way, it’s a fantastic experience.
Vigeland Sculpture Park was very moving. You can see the vision of the sculptor everywhere in the park. It was very nice that we had a tour guide to show us everything. Best sculpture park Ive ever went to. A must see.
Such a peaceful and huge park. Beautiful place to spend an evening
Free of entry. Large and Well maintained park with lot of sculptures. One of the tourists worth of visit places in Oslo. Every sculpture is a peace of art. I enjoyed the visit. To see all sculptures and visit Park it would take 20min.
Wonderful public park with many scapulars inside. The park itself is amazing. It was a sunny day and people were sunbathing there and some were barbecuing. The atmosphere was super and very relaxing.
Dope park, what a wonderful expression of different human emotions and interactions in the sculpture.
We visited the park as part of a tour and have to admit I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would! Our tour guide was amazing and she had great stories and explanations that brought the park and it’s art to life for us.
A must see here in Oslo for locals and tourists. The park is really clean and full of statues of Vigeland that represents stages of life: youth, adulthood, happiness, sadness and life itself. Absolutely recommended!
Beautiful park with free entrance. A good place to relax
Very beautiful park, each sculptures has their own unique details. Surrounding is very well maintained, filled with long green grass and well maintained roads. Overall, an excellent park to visit.
A must see when in Oslo. Definitely helps to have a tour guide to explain the creation of the park, its history and the uniqueness of what you are viewing. Allow at least one hour, this is all outside-open air. Not an event for a rainy day.
very interesting place, beautiful sculptures, very large gardens to take a nap in the sun!
It is really nice park, especially in sunny days you can enjoy the sun while observing Gustav’s sculptures. There are some of my favorites. It is recommended to go there via tram or electronic scooters :)
A very nice place. We visited in a Sunny day. It was awesome experience
Vast park with interesting statues. The cafe is delightful. Clean, well maintained but rather busy for a Monday mid morning. Lots of tourist groups snapping pictures with nude statues.
It was FREEZING COLD but I had good walking time here.
Vigeland Park / The MonolithThe sculpture depicts 121 human figures clinging and floating together. Theres women and men of different ages, and the top of the Monolith is crowned with children. The sculpture has been interpreted as a kind of vision of resurrection, and our longing and striving for spirituality.Vigeland Park is within Frognerparken (Frogner Park), the largest public park in Oslo. A popular spot in all weathers, Frogner Park also has an open-air pool, a cafe and restaurant, plus the biggest playground in Norway and the biggest collection of roses in the country, with 14,000 plants of 150 species. It is the largest sculpture park by a single artist in the world, with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron by acclaimed Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland, whose realistic work represents the cycle of human life and all its emotions.
A green oasis in the city 🏙🌳 Lovely for a walk 🐾 with lots of paths and space for a relaxing atmosphere 😌If you’re into art and sculptures there’s lots of things to check out and admire 🗿It was quite a lot of school classes and small children when I visited 👧👦 and of course it’s a popular place for selfies, me included 🧸🤳😉
This park is a true gem of Oslo! Take the time to enjoy the sculptures and the beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed the various sculptures and of course the monolith with stunning views all around. Highly recommend you take the trip. Easy 2-3 mile walk from the opera house.
One of the best visiting place in Oslo. If you do not visit Vigelands park, then you are not in oslo. A best place for recreation. Entrance free.
Really big and nice statue park. I never seen so many sculptures at one place. I would love to walk my dog in place like this. Every statue has a deeper meaning. Really cool park.
Must seen in Oslo. Sculptures are very original and give you a lot of thoughts. It is amazing that they were all made by one artist.
- Really amazing and you can spend the whole day there- I went in the winter- free entrance- good for Picinic
You cannot go to Oslo and not go to the Vigeland Park...I went there in December 2021, the light in the sky was truly amazing and it was magical with the snow.Vigelands art is not for every taste but as for me, I loved it and the park is really nicely arranged. The pictures speak for themselves.
The park has different look in 4 seasons. I like the one in the winter which is covered with snow. Also, there are lots of children sliding down the snow hills. It’s definitely a good place to visit with kids.

The park is beautiful, interesting statues. It is good to make exercise or only to shot down. Much green ... wonderful place.
If you want to see the nice and interesting sculpture you must visit this place. So huge and naturally. I love this park so much that I visit every time when I visit Oslo.
Nice place in Oslo to relax and have a fun.Great spot for picnics with family.
An interesting area to walk around if you want to enjoy the Oslo weather as a chilled pace. The statues are unique and equal parts intriguing and baffling.
Vigeland is a place on the list that recommend to come when you visit Oslo, this is a magnificent place with a lot of statues, which display people without covers. The architect of the parks is not only special by the statues, also the designed gates, how the tree lines are planted, unlimited view. This is a good place to walk, to talk, exercise, especially enjoy the nature. Norway and Norweigian is master in connection with mother nature, you ‘ll feel it.
The Vigeland Park is the best and the biggest park in Oslo. The nature and sculptures are fantastic. I were there in early spring and in summer and the colours were great. I highly recommend to visit this incredible place
