The View from The Shard in Charef
Description
Privilege
Amazing view and experience. I recommend to go at sunset so you can see the city go from day to night. The bars are cool and classy and so, extremely expensive.
MoreI went with my mum and we had a great time!! I also love that level 72 is the open air sky deck, so you feel like your both inside and out at the same time! Definitely an attraction that everyone should attend!
MoreWe had tickets for the Shard as a wedding gift.We were very lucky and had a beautiful day to visit at the beginning of October. The views are of course incredible. There are plenty of photo points. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had one drink each but refrained from an ice-cream or any other food. The drinks were fairly expensive but I wouldn’t have expected anything else to be honest.Great experience and enjoyed being on the top open-air level.
MoreStunning views of London, shame weather was poor so distance was limited. Champagne was great, staff polite and efficient. Lift was fast! But nothing compared to the beauty of my wife!
MoreIt was my first visit to the Shard. Booked the general admission tickets online and it is just outside the London Bridge Station. There was no queue when we entered so the process was pretty quick. The staff scan your tickets upon arrival and than we have to scan our bags etc. for checking. After this there is another staff who clicks 4 pictures of you and gives you a code to collect your pictures once you leave. The lift was very quick to level 69th and 72th. It was a bit crowded but the views were breathtaking. Just amazing amazing amazing 👏 you can see the entire London from up there. Also surprisingly their washrooms are also covered with glass windows so you can get a sneak peak of the views from there too. We also had a cocktail which I felt was a bit expensive for what they offer £16 a cocktail. But overall a lovely experience, once you leave the shard, there is a souvenir shop from where you can purchase any souvenirs.
MoreAmazing experience well worth the visit. Views are spectacular especially from the open air deck. Sit and have a drink while you watch the busy ants below.
MoreWow, wow, wow! Spectacular, even on a fairly dull and rainy day. It did start to brighten up so the views improved, but even in the rain it was amazing. A real must do if youre in London.
MoreAnother one of the many great ways to see London from above. Their staff were great and friendly. The elevator ride to the top was so quick that your ears popped (well mine did). The views are insane and really is worth the trip out. There is a bar with drinks available. It is quite fancy so you might want to dress up a bit if you want some fancy pics for the gram. Or you can totally go casual like I did because I honestly couldnt be arsed. Definitely book ahead online and if you want you can pay a bit extra and get champagne with your viewing while youre up there (to add to the fanciness). Their gift shop has a large selection of stuff to buy from the usual fridge magnets and t-shirts to really fancy jewelry and chess sets.
MoreThe views are truly great! You can see so much! The tickets however are very expensive and the buying process is somewhat difficult. It says 28£ online, but when we wanted to go up spontaneously, it was 32£. The lady at the counter seemed like her excuses were made up and also a discount voucher wasnt accepted.
MoreAwesome views of London! It offers a really cool perspective of the city and all the places youve been during the day. Its a little pricey, so Id suggest buying The London Pass, which includes a voucher to get in to The View. Since a ticket for just The View is half the price of the pass, and the pass gets you a bus tour and access to many other attractions, its a no-brainer.
MoreReally enjoyable experience. We visited on a Saturday and went through the entrance very efficiently and quickly. At the top there are bars and of course, amazing views of all of London. Lucky enough to have the weather on our side as well. The gimmicky photos can be purchased when coming back down which are £13 for just the prints.(Be prepared for expensive drinks - £16 per drink!)
MoreMy 5-star experience with the View from the Shard began even before I visited the place!I booked from their website for the 5pm slot with the idea of watching the sunset from the Shard. After paying, I realised I may not be able to make it as I had also booked a West end show.Next morning, I called their customer service and they immediately changed my date without any charge. The views are obviously spectacular, as long as you get clear skies. We got that as you can see from the photos.Their photo package of £25 is excellent value. I highly recommend it. You get a beautiful album plus link to download.
MoreSpectacular views! We did the river cruise and view from shard. We had a great guide (Ziavery knowledgeable about the buildings along the river, you could tell he loved his job.We then went to shard, the views were just spectacular, we had great weather for it, had an ice cream.
MoreBeautiful place the Italian Architect has made an awesome structure, very good facilities except that you have walk up to the open deck by 3 flights up.Lots of panoramic views of London.....River Thames in all its historical glory, all the architectural marvels...the London brige, the Tower bridge, the spires of the palaces and cathedrals, new and old all appearing to make London more explorable with its interesting statues, gardens and awesome heritage.
MoreAmazing Views, We manage to catch it around 7pm so seen it go from daylight to dark which was superb! Drinks was very reasonably priced too considering the landmark and location. Highly Recommend
MoreThe View from The Shard located at a height of 244 metres (72nd floorwas open for visitors on 1 Feb. 2013 by then Mayor of London Boris Johnson. You can enter to The View from The Shard from Joiner Street located close to the London Bridge Station. Booking tickets in advance is highly recommended. Views are stunning and making it worth visiting.
MoreOne of the best buildings to get a superb view of London in all its glory. We went for the 8-10 slot so managed to get some pictures from dusk into the night.
MoreGreat View and a wonderful "London-Expert" in Chris. They could do with more setting thou. The Bar menu is rather pricey too and seems to be geared towards people with big wallets. Would suggest going up just before sun down, that way you get twice as many pictures out of it.
MoreI expected this experience to be "touristy" in the sence where the journey is extended and ruined by queuing and over populated by dragging the experience out. As the empire state building felt (although the end result was stunning)The shard offers a no stress, stay as long as you like tour of the top of the building where you can see as far as the eye allows. It was mesmorising, following the Themes and simply watching the world go by from a very great height. They offer to ourchase ice cream, drinks and tapas type food at the top. I would say the prices were reasonable considering and very tasty.Deffinately recommended to visit the Shard. We went in the day, but I bet the night sky line looks amazing too.
MoreVisited TheView yesterday morning . Entry time 11:30 am , amazing it is worth paying for . You can see as far as your eyes can see .The attitude of staff is excellent . I will go back again in here and will bring my family and friends for a cocktail in the bar .I don’t mind paying for , if I am treated right and these guys delivers the true value .
MoreI absolutely loved the view from the shard. Highly reccomend as you get birds eye view of the city. Wish the weather was better but still a must see. We did have a cocktail pricey but it what I expected.
MoreVery good even on a cloudy day Good shepherding of the Q. Security was top notch thorough but speedy. All staff were friendly. The 2 express lifts to get to top felt like any other lift. Great view from the two platforms allowed all the time you want . Good mobility access and there are toilets at the top with only a slight q. Great afternoon out spoting Landmarks.
MoreGreat views, even from the loos!It was a gift so dont know the cost, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. You werent rushed at all.Although the large man bellowing at you all the time, while you were queueing for the lift, to "Move up! Move up!" Was very irritating & not really necessary.
MoreThis is such an amazing place to visit. The best place in London for a panoramic view. you have the choice of 2 floors to view. Each one better than the other. We took so many pictures. We didnt want to leave! 1 floor is an indoor viewing platform (level 69and the other floor is the out door sky deck (level 72).It was worth every penny! I would definitely visit again and will recommend to EVERYONE I know. The pictures that were taken in the entrance were amazing! We took 2 packs! The digital photos are included with your tickets so make sure you take pictures to at least save them on your phone.Whatever you do, make sure you add this place in your trip to London!
MoreIf you are visiting London then this is definitely an experience you should have. Amazing architecture and stunning views but more importantly, you can get a nice cold beer at the top!!
MorePossibly the best thing in London right now if youre a first time visitor!Truly 360° views of London from the 69th and the 72nd floors of The Shard! Guess what, there is a complete bar at both levels with a great selection of spirits and champagne! You can also get your souvenir photos clicked and printed out at the exit area. And there is also a Shard shop for souvenir lovers.Must go for tourists. Go up there and take in the views with a glass of Moet!
MoreSuch an amazing attraction to London, the views of the whole city are amazing both during the dayband at night (personally prefer the nightstaff are very friendly and great option of drinks to have as well. Just a heads up that on the top viewing platform the table service QR code doesnt work, it only gives numbers for the bottom viewing platform, however the staff walkingbaround are more then happy to take your order instead)
MoreNot only is the view totally amazing but the whole building is too. From the moment you walk in you can feel its a special place, the cleanliness of the place is 2nd to none. Oh and the lifts.... Well they are more like rockets with the speed they get you to your destination!!Also make sure you visit the toilets before you come down as taking a leak 600 meters up looking out the window is something else 🤣
MoreDecent experience, views were as expected. Windows haven’t been cleaned on the outside in a while though.Decent internal items like flower walls to take pics and had ample seating. There was no rush while upstairs.Ordered ice cream cone (£4.5)and there was a long hair dug deep into ice cream, they replaced and gave extra scoop. Tasted nice and variety of flavours, surprisingly I liked the bubblegum, not usually a fan.Two floors had different feels, which was good, one with piano.Upon exit, the standard photo package to buy which uses green screen offers one decent backdrop and another with a backdrop with no landmarks, you have to pay extra to pick a different backdrop. Didn’t like. Bought the basic package of photos.
MoreAmazing view as I would have expected but an absolute shambles with regards to the queuing system. Arrived at 2.30pm for a 3pm booking and as there was a long queue we joined it only to be told to come back at 2.45pm as we were too early. Returned at 2.45pm and queued for almost an hour in 3 separate queus. Didnt have drink upstairs but the bars were all well stocked and the viewing platform was not overly packed which was nice.
MoreReally good views of London from the top, 2 different viewing platforms, the last one is a few staircases further up. Lift up is really quick 3rd fastest in the UK. Was busy over the weekend, A bar at each viewing deck offering alcoholic and hot drinks too, however few seats or tables. Saying that its worth the experience. We spent about 45 minutes overall.
MoreHad a fantastic time, highly recommended. Wow what a perfect 360 degree panoramic view of London. The day I visited was so clear that you could see as far as the Dartford Bridge. A great experience. Lovely courteous staff and very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
MoreTruly amazing experience. But dont forget to make a reservation in advance (for a fee). Definitely worth it. On the top you can order a drink and enjoy your 360 degree view with a bubbles. I would also like to appreciate the staff because they were really nice and willingly took us some nice photos.
MoreDO this NOT the eye, it is a more pleasant experience. Very quick que, advice do not choose a beverage until you go to the top. The choices are vast and the champagne is the same cost. That you photos with the guide. You go up 2 different elevators. First you go up 33 floors then up to 68. To reach the top you climd up and few flights or small elevator. There are maybe 5 bars on those floors total. The cocktails are fantastic, enjoy on whole at the top.
MoreMy sons took Me for my birthday celebration it was fantastic👍brought the photos it was absolutely amazing beautiful views definitely be coming back again. Thanks again to all the Team at shard London. Kind regards Lynn.
MoreExcellent views. Not enough seating in bar area and very expensive. £15 for a bowl of nuts, crisps and 2 soft drinks. Very nice friendly chatty staff. Can spend as long as you want there. Cold at the very top, could do woth outdoor heating maybe.
MoreHonestly I didnt have high expectations but I was so impressed with the experience. Very well done. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Cocktails were delicious. Highly recommended the aurora cocktail. Make sure you visit the loos
MoreIts a pretty unique experience. 👌Its totally worth a visit. Went there a little bit before the sunset and only got out almost at closing time. Couldnt get my eyes off the amazing views. Definitely bringing my family up there next time.
MoreAbsolutely amazing. Weather was perfect. The photos do not give the views justice. All I would say is £85 for 4 drinks is steep
MoreThe view is perfect, probably best in London and one class better than Sky Garden. However, in contrast to Sky Garden, you have to pay to go up and the drinks are quite of higher price (20ish per drink). Also its a bit difficult to take good pictures because of double glass and dirty glass. Still an amazing view though!
MoreBrilliant views on a good day, staff are friendly too. I brought a pass on black friday so got a bargain but now thinking about it the 3 times ive been there, there are never children as it would be just too expensive and not worth the money. One thing I would say is wear a good warm jumper and coat as, its very cold up there in winter, Ive seen a few women dressed up for the occasion without a coat looking absolutely miserable and freezing bless them.
MoreJust amazing, 360 degrees view from london up high. The highest building in Uk 🇬🇧. Enjoy the view with a glass of champagne 🍾. If you are not confident about heights this is the perfect place to go, although it is high enough to see all over the city, the environment is quite chilling and relaxing 😌, actually you wont feel you are that high, obviously that changes when you start looking around. The scenery you get from that height is unbelievable, not even the London eye gives you this kind of viewing. Also check the markers on every window 🪟 it gives clues as to what and where to look in order to see the most iconic landmarks in London.Fun fact, the toilets have retractable shades or curtains, so you can keep them up or down according to your personality or shyness. Anyways it feels interesting being that high in a windowless toilet. Also if you are lucky you get to feel The snow, a publicity stunt from Virgin mobile. It is a large scale frame and fake snow will fall, making it a perfect picture, specially for those in love or trying to be romantic.Go there have fun and please take a seat, enjoy your champagne 🍾 and let your worries downstairs 😉.Btw there are 2 whole floors where you can enjoy the view from up high. 1st floor is mostly a bar with great views, 2nd has no bar but plenty of sofas 🛋, this floor is made for sitting, taking a break and enjoy.
MoreIts nice experience, great view, best to go before sunset so you get view during different lights. They offer mocktails but look too over pricedGets boring after 30 mins to be honest, unless you taking loads of pics
MoreAbsolutely brilliant. Firstly make sure you do not turn up late or you can expect very long queues. Security is airport style removing bags, jackets and belts. There are 2 lifts to get to the top and they bother move at lightning speed. There are 2 levels for viewing. Level 69 is indoor which music, bar and seating. This level is quite tight when busy. Then you can go up to 72 which is an open top view which much more space. We timed it so that we were there for the sunset and got to experience the views in daylight and then the at nightime with the lights. 👌👌👌 Deffo worth doing.
MoreDefinitely its worth a visit. I went with some family members to enjoy the view. We went just before sunset to enjoy it from there. Really nice time and not crowded. We explored the different floors and then we had a bottle of wine sitting by the window while enjoying the view at night. Dont forget to use the toilets - a great view as well! :)
MoreTickets for my Sister and myself were purchased two years ago and then Covid-19 happened. Needing to use those tickets as the extension period was coming to an end, we made plans. Taking into account work commitments, we decided that a Friday evening would be best for us. Luckily the day chosen had good weather and it was not too cold.Metropolitan Line to Finchley Road, then change across a platform to the Jubilee Line to London Bridge. Just sixteen minutes on the second train had us arriving at London Bridge. Heading out of the station, the way to The Shard was very clearly signposted and took only a few minutes.Passing quickly through a checkpoint outside, we were directed up a flight of stairs and into the Ticket Sales and Reception Area. Staff here were very helpful and we were quickly on our way.It became clear that the visitor procedures were clearly thought out with one-way routes and staff providing guidance and instructions on what to do. To get to the viewing areas located at, and above, the 68th floor, it is necessary to get two different lifts. The first takes you from ground level to the 33rd floor and after a short walk, the second takes you up to the 68th floor. Lifts were very smooth with little sensation of the speed we were travelling. A staff member drew our attention to a panel which showed our progress in each lift.Arriving on the 68th floor, it was possible on leaving the lift to get our first view over South-East London. As this was not a main viewing floor it was necessary to walk up some stairs to the 69th floor.Arriving there, those (like uswho had a particular type of ticket were treated to a glass of Moet & Chandon champagne :-). This floor allows you to walk around all four sides of the square building with views up to many miles in all directions. The River Thames, several bridges including Tower, London and Blackfriars, tourist landmarks such as The Tower of London, The London Eye, The Post Office Tower and more modern buildings including those in the City and over at Canary Wharf, all clearly visible on this sunny afternoon. One thing that was quite funny, seen from above, was the number of main-line railway stations and trains. It was just like looking down on a large model railway. Lots of photographs taken and then it was time to climb some more stairs up to the 72nd floor, which is open to the elements. Today it was quite breezy in places but very refreshing. Again, more photographs. After several laps identifying places, it was time to begin our descent. Down to the 69th floor, a couple of laps and down again to the 68th floor to get the lift back down.As before, the journey down took two lifts. Arriving at Ground Level you are directed out via The Shard Gift and Souvenir Shop. More spending here including a cloth bag for £ 1.00. Good quality and very good value. Was this a worthwhile visit ?, certainly a resounding Yes. How much time could you spend here ?, several hours could be spent matching places to memories and identifying landmarks. In honesty, probably not a good place to take very small children. Access for mobility impaired is quite good and there is plenty of space for wheelchair users. Is it worth the money ?, Yes but to get maximum value to need to do more than just look out of the windows. Would we come back ?, Yes.
MoreThis was an awesome experience that I would love to try again. The View was breath taking and the service was awesome too. The staff was friendly from the wntrance to the top of the view. We reserved a table and we were well taken of.
MoreThe view from shard is like a dream. Even in the night time. People can see the half of the city from here. The last floor for the visitors is floor 72. You can have some snacks and drinks in the top as they have bars and a cafe and you will get a security cheak before get in which is same as a airport cheaks. So be prepared to take off your belt and jacket. You can enjoy some snowfall every 15 minutes on the top floor. Its not real though but it gives you a great feel.
MorePurchased the Virgin Experience voucher that incorporated the Shard visit, free cocktail and photos. From arrival, through security, the obligatory photos and lift to the top, the whole process took. roughly fifteen minutes. We were booked in at 19.30, so the night time views were amazing. So far, so good. However, having to queue for forty minutes for your drink is unacceptable. A tip - dont go to the bar on level 68, go to the one on level 71. Whilst undoubtedly busy, the fact that cocktails were being made incorrectly isnt good enough.Once we eventually received ours, they were most enjoyable in fairness. The photos taken on arrival are ready when you depart. You are offered a package at a cost of £25, which from a previous daytime visit is a nice, if overpriced memento. The Virgin package only ensures you receive the pictures you posed for in an email. If we had literally just paid for the view then I would definitely score 5/5. Unfortunately the long delay at the bar sonewhat soured the visit.
MoreReally nice experience. Very efficient process to you from the ground up to the viewing floor. Lifts extremely fast and no queuing at all. Once at the top you have 3 different floors to view from, so no problem with blocked views. Bars to buy cocktails from, so you can sit and watch a magnificent sunset over London. I’ve visited many viewing platforms on my travels, but this is by far the best with London being the most amazing city.
