37 people in our group had great meals, no one was disappointed. Service was excellent, prices 20 to 27 dollars what more could you ask for

Nice food and better service, good stuff

I went there for drinks and a pizza last Friday eve. Been here before and food was better then. Not really impressed. Not very attentive staff..Chicken Pizza was OK but not much chicken on it just a load of cheese so not really tasty and tasted a bit burnt from the few pieces of prosciutto ontop that was burnt made it really bitter. Unfortunately my friend paid too fast or I would hv complained

Fantastic food, really enjoyed my meal, a pretty good variety on the menu.. Ill definitely return

Great service, really friendly staff. Brought out a fresh iced dish of water for our fur baby Daisy. Good selection of beers and wines. Can keep an eye on the kids in the playground in the outdoor seating.

Good views across the bay. Pizza specials were good value but taste wise were only OK. Standard pricing for drinks with a decent choice of beers, wines and cocktails.

This place is terrible and dishonest . They have a set menu on the outside but different menu with more expensive prices on the inside. Overcharging us . The 2 young girls working today was very rude and had no customer service skills and gave us attitude when we ask them why do they have 2 different prices on the same pizza . I will never go back to this place!!!

Rude staff, despite having been here a dozen times both staff and management are extremely rude, often ignoring us and serving "locals" that have come in long after us first... A few other friends have had similar experiences and just made to feel very unwelcome.

i would give 0 stars if i could. terrible service from wait staff. the waits for a table, drinks / food were all way too long & every waitress that came through were unfriendly & simply seemed like they didn’t want to be there.when we came we experienced an annoying occurrence when trying to order drinks- the waitress looked at our id for about 5 minutes for no reason and then got another lady to come and look?food was bland, mediocre and not worth the price. the pizza was also very lack there of when it came to toppings.seemed busy because it’s one of the few big restaurants in browns bay but, let me assure you reader who may be about to come here: don’t.

Always good food and drink range. Lovely atmosphere, great place for families and couples or friends gathering.

Large menu, and small share plates are actually quite big. Wings good, wedges meh and arancini amazing. Good drinks selection at reasonable prices. Outdoor high tables are too close to road - people get out their parked cars literally next to you (less than 30cm), like they have joined your table

Loved my meal. Ive looks beach. Bar on other side. Very popular.. Great night catching up with friends so good for conversation.

Pretty good food, nice big meals so make sure you are hungry.

Went on a Saturday night and was expecting more people to be dining at 7.00pm, but the restaurant was not overly busy, and the waitperson was very pleasant and secured our drinks orders and explained the specials on the menu - great. The atmosphere was "warm & friendly" and being one of the very few dining establishments so close to the beach (literally just on the park side of the reservea pleasant way to finish the meal with a stroll along Browns Bay beach - even though it was dark !.

I give a 4 star rating due to the outstanding level if service and professionalism of the staff. Super friendly, respectful and helpful. Food was good too.

Thank you Velvet Gypsy for great food and drink - after our Team social event. The guys were thirsty and hungry. Love your outdoor area - great for team functions and the platters and pizza were yummy.

Only bought chips. Was a bit more expensive than normal. BUT it was AWESOME! The chips wasn’t too oily, outside was really crunchy, and the aioli was really nice. I know where to get chips next time I am in the area. $ well spent.

I’ve eaten at the Velvet Gypsy on several occasions and have always found the food to be consistently great and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. The view overlooking the beach is an added bonus as is the extensive wine list. I would highly recommend the Velvet Gypsy to anyone looking for a great place to catch up with friends/ family in Browns Bay.

While I was at The Velvet Gypsy Bar And Restaurant, my family and I ordered two original Monteith beers, two Tohu Merlot, one original Cokacola, and a portion of garlic bread to share; this came to nealy fifty dollars. We sat on the couches outside but found it too windy, so we went inside; When we sat down we saw seven peices of black and white, old fashioned artwork of browns bay when it was first founded.

What an amazing little café! The prices are great for the quality and quantity of food and service you get there. Its atmosphere is homey and comfortable. The staff were friendly, happy and ready to serve you no matter what was going on and just an overall wondeful place to be. Definitely my favorite place/café in Browns Bay now
