The University Club at Queen's Inc. in Kingston

My husband and I got married here last Saturday and it was absolutely perfect! Even though we are going through a pandemic, the staff made every effort to keep their staff and all my guests safe. The staff were amazing! Very friendly and very professional. And the food!! Everyone couldnt stop talking about the food! Chef Kyle did an outstanding job. My theme of my wedding was "simple, yet elegant" and The University Club nailed it. I highly recommend this place for any event. Nina and Debbie were such a pleasure to work with.. answering any silly email and question I had. Thank you so much!

The University Club is incredibly classy, well staffed, and everything is in perfect order. The views overlooking the lake are impeccable, making this the perfect spot for a small gathering.

Married my wife here this past Saturday. The club’s staff was professional, prompt and so versatile. Can not say enough good things, I’ve already recommended the venue to future couples looking to get married. Only knock, is the size of the upstairs main area. I personally think it’s of adequate size but if your plan is to host 110+ this may not be right for you. On another personal note, the amount of compliments we received about the food that night was outstanding.

My family was planning to hold an anniversary party at the University Club in August. When we booked in March I indicated we had a certain budget and staff agreed they could put on the party for that amount. A few months later a food list with prices was emailed to us and it was clear that the cost of the food was going to put us well over our budget. We were told if another party books the rooms we would receive a refund, but then a month later found out the same rooms were closed for renovations so no else could book them. They refuse to give back the deposit. Be very careful and get everything in writing!

Hello Ive eaten there before! Ive just joined and Im looking forward to many events there! I recently attended a cream tea it was wonderful! A good friend of mine hosted the tea! Thank you very much! The staff are fantastic and they know your name!

Reasonable food on campus for events

I couldnt be more pleased. The entire experience was perfect. The staff are the most professional and helpful Ive ever encountered. I recommend The University Club unreservedly ! My daughters wedding was easy, affordable and a joy, thanks to them.

I joined the University Club in the late 1970s. With the exception of a few sabbatical years I have been a member ever since. The basic requirement to join is that you have worked at Queens University or were a student. You maintain your membership by paying an annual fee.The University Club sits on King Street and overlooks that portion of Lake Ontario that lies between Kingston and Wolfe Island. On a warm summer day, its very pleasant to have lunch on the patio or, when available, on the lawn facing the Lake. The Club can also be rented such as we did when it hosted our daughters wedding and the following reception.Sunday Brunch for all three of our generations is a family tradition. Beyond a weekday lunch with a friend or colleague, we also take advantage of numerous other events such as pub night, seafood dinner and Valentines Day dance.The University Club was originally a private residence. When purchased by the University, it was expanded on the Stuart Street side to accomodate a large dining room, kitchen, and bar. Parking is found in the nearby underground parking lot during the day and a parking lot next to Club in the evenings or weekends.What makes the Club work is the long serving group of professionals such as Manager Debra, Chef Kyle and Bartenders Daniel and Paulette. They in turn are supported by a volunteer Board of Directors.

I have photographed a few events here, including - most recently - a wedding, and have nothing but positive things to say. The staff, in particular, are incredibly accommodating (they held on to a piece of left equipment for me!). Its a spacious venue that has many features, and therefore can be used with a lot of versatility, from hosting dinners to weddings, to charity events.It is also stylish and elegant, both inside and out.I had a very positive experience while at the University Club at Queens!

Held our wedding here this past weekend, and were so glad we chose this venue. We received many compliments about the regal feel of the house, the garden, and the service. The staff couldnt do enough for us - from the manager, to the event coordinator, the service manager, the serving staff, the bar tenders. We felt so cared for throughout the planning process and wedding. Couldnt have had a better experience.
