The Unicorn Restaurant in Dublin
Description
Privilege
If i could leave 0 stars I would, rude barman and manager who refused us legal service. Absolute disgrace. Avoid at all costs.
MoreWorst meal Ive had in Dublin in 2020. Over priced, lack of atmosphere and staff were extremely rude. Would not recommend anyone who likes Italian food or pleasant service to go here. Much better places to eat in Dublin.
MoreOne of the best culinary creatives Dublin has to offer and great staff to boot. This little gem is part of City’s heritage and deserves every accolade going.
MoreWe had a fantastic Saturday afternoon lunch with my daughter and her partner the service was very good the wine was lovely and the food was excellent we sat outside and atmosphere was lovely and pleasant this is a gem of a restaurant tucked down a lane way just of baggot st. If your in Dublin city you should really give it a visit
MoreSuperb Italian restaurant tucked away just off Stephens Green. My first visit was just after Covid19 reopening. The food and service (by Italian waitersis excellent. Such a shame to see it so quiet on an August Bank Holiday though.
MoreLovely food. Great service. Staff are very helpful and friendly
Solo meal with charm. Heart throb Italian server with no reserve adds to the romance of an evening alone in Dublin. Fabulous menu.
MoreAmazing food and atmosphere. The red pesto with the italian bread selection was unreal amd the tiramisu was up there with the best i ever had.
MoreWe visited the Unicorn at around 17:30 pm. I thought there might be an early bird menu, but I think it wasnt available in December. We were given the a la carte menu so we paid more than wed intended but had a very nice meal. We shared the Unicorn Antipasto Misto di Terra, which was very generous and had fabulous cold meats and cheeses. My friend had the Rigatoni Ragu and I had the Risotto ai Frutti Di Mare. Both were excellent. We finished off with a shared Tiramisu. It was a very nice meal in a lovely location. Service was excellent, attentive without being pushy. Weve eaten at the Unicorn before and I would definetely live to visit again when Im Dublin.
MoreNice place for a lovely dinner. Waiters were really friendly just as the global restaurant atmosphere. Good wine menu and fine dishes. The only negative point was that my dishes was too spicy and I dont think it was mention on the menu but it was nevertheless delicious.
MoreWonderful! Simple interiors, delightful staff and brilliant food - every ingredient in my paste tasted marvelously fresh and the tiramisu is exceptionally tender!
MoreFantastic service. Food was lovely. An amazing restaurant with fantastic staff.
Spectacular. Try to eat outside if the weather permits. Beautiful.
The service was first grade, very courteous. But I found the food blend. It is Italian - it is supposed to be tasty. The mash had hardly any taste. How do you add fat and potatoes and manage to get almost zero taste? The same for the ice cream - how does sugar and fat equates to no taste?? On the other hand I did like the pasta, that was delicious.
MoreSlow service and very loud. On a Thursday night with the entire left room and part of the tables empty, we still waited over 15 minutes until our drink order was taken, then several more before the drinks were delivered. Due to service delay and unpleasant noise level, we paid our bill and left so I can’t comment on the food.Maybe just a bad night?
MoreIncredible food and great service. Those are hard to achieve together. The lady serving us was very friendly. Definitely a hidden gem in Dublin
MoreGreat value, great food, super ambience with cosy rooms and a small outdoor area.
MoreNice and cosy, went with a large group. Service was great and staff was friendly.
MoreWe had a great meal. The food was delicious. The service excellent and the management accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend.
MoreWhat an experience!Unicorn Restaurant is a little off the beaten path, yet it was packed on a Wednesday night - that usually speaks for the quality, in my opinion. The atmosphere was lively with a hint of sophistication and history. If you want to feel transported out of the busy city for a night, this would be the place to go.The food was sensational; Burrata, Ravioli Tartufo Bianco paired with a glass of Passo Antico 2016, and finishing on the Amalfi Lemon Tart! The staff was delightful and very attentive. We will be back!
MoreGreat food and service. Name a bit misleading though, I imagined decor to be something more special... Typical small restaurant decor. Nice and cosy though.
MoreAmazing service, great food selection and wonderful flavors. Wine selection was very representative of Italy, and everything we had tasted fabulous. Definitely a "Highly Recommend"!
MoreDelicious starter. Bouillabaise was tastey but had tomatoes in the sauce....optional???Maybe I should have tried some of the Pasta dishes on the menu instead.Dover Sole was dry.Lovely staff gave us a table for 2 in the corner even though we hadnt made a reservation.
MoreGreat food and lovely service. Lunch was a treat.
Excellent food in a lovely setting. Very enjoyable. Great service also, if a little quick.
MoreReally loved it here, the service was so warm and the food was authentic and delicious. My husband had little Irish clams and they were so sweet and tender. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Irish hospitality is lovely.
MoreLast time I was in Unicorn was 11 years ago and had great memories of it so the bar was set high for my last visit. It did not disappoint, food even better than I remember and service was excellent too, Ill be back soon!
MoreGood plat but serving a tiramisu that is liquid...thats awefull
Excellent food here and great value set lunch meal can be had all day. Lovely surroundings... Linen tablecloths ..high end great service and good wine choices. Il
MoreThe food was alright, we ordered chicken breast which originally comes with spinach but we ordered without. However, we got with spinach. We also ordered a portion of sweet potato fries and one with regular fries. What we got was two portions of sweet potato fries. We talked to three different waiters. One who took our reservation, she greeted us nicely and told us that the dinner menu where able from 05:30 pm and that we were welcome to arrive early but then we had to wait a bit for dinner if we ordered from the dinner menu. That was not a problem for us! We arrived 15 minutes early (05:15pmand another waiter greeted us. When she came to take our order she wanted us to pick from the lunch menu and told us about an offer with a starter. Which was nice of her, but we preferred ordering from the dinner menu. She didn’t take that very well and tried to walk away before we could order a side dish to go with our chicken (the fries). As soon as we had told her our food order she walked rudely away, at this point we had not gotten to order any drink. We had to contact another waiter to order a drink.Later when we got our food, the waiter did not say anything to us, barely look at us. When we asked for the bill it came straight away but the waiter once again barely looked at us, as if she wanted us to get out of there as soon as possible. As a conclusion, the food tasted alright but we did not get what we ordered and the service was not good.
MoreTasty food and gorgeous setting for atmosphere. Wide range of choice and dishes. I felt my Pork Belly starter was a little dry but yet still delicious. The deserts are light and tasty. I recommend the desert wine also, a sweet nectar syrup. The staff were very accommodating and willing to work with any dietary requirements our table had. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
MoreVery good seafood and wine. Cute and cozy upscale restaurant in dublin. Lovely atmosphere catering to higher-end cuisine. Much more space to have a relaxed meal than the pubs and restaurants nearby.
MoreLovely place, very friendly staff. Very good food
One of the best if not the best Italian Ive had in Dublin. The food is full of flavour and everything seems fresh and good quality ingredients. Even the presentation doesnt lack inspiration. The deserts were amazing, but you have to trust me on this one as I forgot to take pictures. Prices are not too bad for this kind of food and prime location in Dublin.
MoreFood was good but our server was clearly overwhelmed. They were really understaffed. They had no bartender so all the servers were pouring wine and making drinks themselves. We could see them rushing back and forth just trying to keep up. The food was pretty good - it was authentic Italian but was disappointed they didnt have squid ink pasta that night for the seafood pasta I ordered (which said squid ink on the menu, I still ordered it anyway with regular pasta). The ambiance of the restaurant was nice although we sat in front of the door which meant we kept getting hit by a cold breeze every time someone walked in. I wouldnt mind visiting again as long as I wasnt in a rush and I would probably make reservations next time especially if its at peak hours. We got there a bit early and the restaurant wasnt too busy but all the tables were full by the time we left. Its also not a really big restaurant. Btw, this restaurant has nothing to do with unicorns lol.
MoreGood food, servers are friendly and nice.
I was visiting this place with my husband last Saturday. I found it expansive, however , its the avarage price for this kind of restaurant in Dublin. My pasta was amazing, very tasty, nice tiramisu, wines with quality.I liked the service , in my opinion it was friendly and helpful.
MoreWhile the food was tasty, the service was inconsistent, which lead to my bill having another tables wine added to it. When I queried this with the waiter he was insistant that it belonged on my bill. I cant say I will be rushing back.
MoreA week ago we had an after-civil-ceremony-wedding lunch and all I can say is that we had a great time!Valentina was very kind and patient with dealing with all of my questions regarding the reservation, table decoration and surprise cake for newly wedded couple.Graziano - the Manager and Gianni were very professional, patient and kind; always making sure we had everything we needed throughout the lunch, frequently checking back and paying attention to detailes at our table.Congratulations to The Chef - the food was amazing! It was our first time in that restaurant, but definitely not last! Looking forward to visit them again!Thank you all for making my best friends day even more special then it already was!
MoreGreat Italian food but I’ll get more conservative foods too if u like. Their Cod is fantastic and so is their filet. I loved all the food we got from here. Service was good. Price is a little high but in my point of view, it was worth it due to the quality of food and consistency-I got food from here quite often this past month.
MoreLovely setting and. Had the early bird. Not up to scratch but still nice. Really fresh food. Got busy and the service got inconsistent and waited for service and bill. Waitress nice . Wine more expensive then two cours meal. Wonderful setting and would recommend it if you don’t expect to much ..
MoreGreat italian restaurant in Dublin. Very nice meat and dessert
A great and reliable Italian option in the city. High quality cooking with modest portion sizes that still leave you satisfied. Not overwhelmingly Italian either (I had cod and hand cut chips last time I was in)
MoreHad dinner here 23rd September for birthday. Choose this restaurant as it was top of the list in trip advert. It was over priced and draughty. We were given a nice seat but then they decided it was too warm and left a door ajar to let some air in. Where we were sitting was down the end of the restaurant near the toilets in an alcove which by leaving a door ajar cos they felt hot made no sense and no effect on the restaurant. I was about to ask them to close it but another couple came in and sat nearer the door and they questioned why it was opened and said that it was fine. So as I sat there eating my dinner (dont know how the couple who were sitting at the door feltI was in a draft and all my food went cold. Got a glass of white wine my choice and paid 7.50 euros for it. Bought a boll the in my local shop the previous night for 8 euros. The glass was big but the contents was really small. The food overall was nice but the portions left a lot to be desired for the price we paid and what we got. Wont be going back in a hurry I am afraid. Also online menu read different to the menu we got which was a bit of a disappointment 😟
MoreA good and cool place in which you can try Italian food
I will not be returning to this restaurant. I was in for lunch (just before the rush at 12.30and service was incredibly slow - i ordered chicken and my lunch mate ordered pasta which took 45 minutes to be brought to the table. Even after it was explained that we were in a rush- I was told the chicken takes a long time to cook (a chicken breast taking 45 minutes?!!. When my meal did arrive the order was wrong but it took so long to arrive, there was no point correcting. If you are serving a lunchtime menu- be aware that most customers dont have 45 minutes to wait for their food.
MoreAbsolute favourite when Im in Dublin. I love the terrace on trendy side street with great atmosphere and amazing friendly service. The antipasto was superb and lobster linguini is a treat.
MoreVery fine if not the finest place to eat. Reservation is required mostly. Had very nice food and the best squash soup ever and very nice desserts.
MoreI was recommended this restaurant by friends, and it was okay but not as good as I hoped it would be. The food was good, but considering the price I would have thought it would be better. Also we waited nearly an hour until the food arrived, however I have to add that the restaurant was quite busy so I guess that happens. The ambiente is nice though.
MoreWent on a golf trip with 10 other guys. Had our last dinner on Friday night, August 2nd at Unicorn. Great meal, fair price and awesome service. Vonah was the best server I have ever experienced. A Rock Star!
