The Troubadour - in Sake, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Great bar for a late night midweek drink. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious cocktails.
Troubadour is a super emblematic pub in Earls Court. It has a unique décor style that mixed with their food and live music performed by changing artista makes it a fun pub to meet friends and hang afterwork. Their garden is also a hidden gem for summer nights. Expensive for the food quality in my opinion.
The volume level of the young revelers the Tuesday night I visited was almost unbearable. I was hoping to enjoy my 1st Shepherds Pie which came with spicy kale and edit pictures in peace. The server changed my table but it wasnt any help. The food was delicious and beer strong thank goodness.
An iconic jazz venue, Troubadour never fails to entertain and delight.Seb De Kroms trip was fantastic and introduced some new talent as well.Brilliant Sunday evening.
Went to the stage to see three artists. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was good. Need to do something about the audience chatting while the performance was on.
Excellent service and genuinely lovely staff. Just wonder if theyve ever taken a duster, broom and mop to the place? The musty smell certainly grabs you by the neck and made my eyes water. I was scared to sit my bare thighs on their seat pads in case of bugs/mites 🐛.Apart from the obvious unhygienic state of the place, its a true gem and a one-of-its kind cafe/restaurant.Ill be back if they undertake some deep-cleaning!
I had the brisket sandwich, very tasty and perfect portion. The fries need some help but they are in the right track, personally I like them crispy. There was a very young chap in there with a really creative hat, he was full of energy and loved music and to share the history of the Troubadour with me. Definitely go and visit.
Love this place and have been a patron and performer for 3 years or so. Food is great and service is excellent. Unfortunately the new security employed last Saturday were overly rude and aggressive. As a performer at the venue I was cajoled and harassed all evening, with several of our party and friends told they cannot enter or that there was some kind of issue or another. Already having stated that i was performing and had a stamp I was told Id need to pay to enter my own performance. As far as Im aware its a bit odd to shout, manhandle and push people with no provocation. On calmly protesting as to their heavy handed behaviour I was told I was racist and that Id need to leave, which is pretty ridiculous. Certainly hope to see new security next time.
1. Nice vibe2. Food is greatOverall really nice place. Only thing I don’t like is benches, after dinner and drink there I had a sore back for 2 days 🙈🙈🙈
Since i do not drink i go to pubs to try their food and feel atmosphere. This place is great for atmosphere but very simple for food expirirnce comparing to other pubs ive been during my visit. I have tried English breakfast and sticky toffee pudding - it was ok (i def can see how it can be great after pint or few). But service was great, very friendly and welcoming people :)
I had an English breakfast and it was terrible, sausage tasted odd and my scramble egg was so little and when I ask if this is one or two eggs in return they said how many I was expecting it to be!
The staff is friendly but the place is dusty and does not look very clean. I have asthma, and I had difficulty breathing inside. The coffee was also very disappointing.
Lovely, romantic terrace area. Perfect for a date night drink 🍷 Will definitely be returning to sample the food, as well
Fantastic and unique pub and music venue drenched in history. Great food too!
Great spot not too far from the stations. It has a nice terrace and a room entirely dedicated to Bob Dylan which was an added surprise.
Super intimate venue for live jazz and other music. It also serves good food and has a nice cocktail menu. Outdoor seating which is ideal in the summer. Good place for a night cap. Highly recommend it.
perfect food and drinks🤤though we didnt reserve a table the waiting staff let us stay before the guests come
Excellent service, great atmosphere, good food! Music downstairs was amazing!!! My only complaint would be people being too loud and having no respect for musicians who worked so hard
Local independent cafe bar with quirky interiors and live music, we arrived a little too late for the evenings music but enjoyed a quiet drink amongst a bustling Tuesday night crowd
Went for breakfast, food was OK, vego sausages were really nice, coffee was terrible. Seems like it would be better for a glass of wine in the evening than breakfast or skip the coffee 🙂
I may be one of the few people to talk bad about this place but I felt really uncomfortable in there. I went there for lunch today and all the waiters (except a South American woman who was really kindseemed very annoyed at me even before I asked them anything. Let’s not talk about when I asked if they could tell me where the bathroom was, just a ton of bad stares, they probably where too busy doing something else I guess.
A surprising venue. Quirky and not what you expect from the outside. Bar, restaurant, garden and basement music venue. Thriving atmosphere and well worth a visit.
100% awesome every time.I’d only turn up in London if it were promised I could spend an evening here too! :love this place (:
Food was decent, but little overpriced. However, the event space is great and often has some cool music on
Nice little underground live gig with restaurant and bar upstairs.Nice central spot and great vibes.Have to be quiet in smoking area due to neighbours above but otherwise lovely.
Great place if you enjoy being shushed and told where you can and cant sit all night. You cant even get a drink unless youre sat down in the right place. Felt a bit like being at school again...
Beautiful authentic interior. Cozy dining area round the back with great food and even better drinks. Friendly staff.
The older lady waiter is rather rough... Kept trying to kick us out despite 1.5hours before closing - great night though! Great band too 🎉
Great, intimate venue. Excellent sound. Tonight we saw a brilliant band too - Reme, check them out!
Super cute and there is this secret garden that is so relaxing and nice for a Sunday morning. The service is amazing!
This is a great restaurant to go with great atmosphere, lots of history, wines food and spirits, and a rocknroll soul. Live music on the weekends too. Love it!
Excellent staff, great music and atmosphere, and by far the best burger I have ever had.I will be back, thanks to all the team. Highly recommended if you are on the area.
Classic and stylish, not a pub, more a wine bar. No music despite the Bob Dylan Room. Great location for meeting up with a first time date, however seats are limited.
Excellent either to brunch or lunch. Is also nice as a pub ar night. Best in the zone
Interesting place on the main drag. A bit dirty inside and seams a little dated for the modern age. Lots of instruments hanging over your head while you are having your coffee. They have a Bob Dylan room at the back, with information about Bob Dylan. They also have a small back courtyard area open.
Nice food that get served quickly, great selection on the menu for both beverages, foods and lighter bites - all of which you could enjoy outside in their own garden. Perfect for those warmer nights! Highly recommend and will certainly return.
Below average food in a charismatic interior. The setting is quite nice, with wooden walls complemented with a range of musical artifacts. The menu was also quite promising, featuring alsacian tarts. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was quite low. The dough of the tart was way too thick and soggy, the breakfast sausages also being rather mediocre. The service was average. My rating: 3.0
Feel the history of music and rock there. Good place. A bit small stage but I guess thats intended to keep the mood more intimate with the artist
Cozy backyard in London City, great place for a relaxed dinner 🍽We had the Camembert and the Salmon Flammkuchen, very tasty and good quality but maybe a bit over-priced.I do recommend ✅
I dont even have words to describe how amazing this brisket burger was. What made it more amazing was the wonderful staff and gorgeous garden in the back nevermind the fact that its quite cheap too!! This was one of the best meals I had in London, no question!
Love the little courtyard garden. Large drink menu - we didnt eat but food sounded good too. Will be back
So much fun if you’re a music fan! Great spot for a few drinks. Excellent history too. A must see if you’re in the area!
Fantastic and rightfully famous venue that dates back to 1954 and is the only remaining coffee house where you can experience the atmosphere of the British folk revival of the 1950s and 60s.Just some of the musicians who have played here:• Charlie Watts 1961• Bob Dylan 1962• Joni Mitchell 1970• Jimmy Page and Robert Plant 1975• Jimmy Hendrix 1970s• Morrissey 2012The folk musician Tom Paxton’s song "Leaving London" includes the line "Last night the Troubadour was so full they barred the door", from one of his many visits to London.Over the years The Troubadour has expanded to include the buildings either side, but the initial building retains all of its intriguing character and the cellar venue hosts regular live jazz. Nice.If you found my review helpful or interesting, please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thanks!
Decided to have a dinner at The Troubadour on a weekday due to high reviews on here.I ordered a burger and a Moscow mule, which were both pretty good. However, the service here was really bad. The waiters are not attentive and kept fraternizing with each other/ regular customers while two tables including myself were waiting to be served. I ended up having to wait 40 mins until I got my food and drink on the table.I understand this place has a historical values which I guess makes it a place to visit, but in my opinion I would not come back here again.
Lovely garden in the back, friendly service, the food is also good - loved the goat cheese salad. One downside is the amount if smoking in the garden, which is fairly small and has covers so the stench of cigarettes is everywhere.
Would give 10 star if I could. What a beautiful gem in the rough.Amazing live music, amazing sound quality, Ian the booking guy deserves more money for the quality of the acts he puts on, also that sound guy, he deserves a pay rise too, all amazing.Didnt eat, but really really wanted too as the food looked and smelt sooo good. Really top quality drinks too. Amazing service from all of the super lax and really cool staff there. 10 out of 5 for me. Absolutely recommended!!Cant wait to return, already looking in my diary.
Intimate music venue in the basement, quality sound and emerging acts. It must have been refurbished since the pandemic, as the stage used to be in a corner with 2 lateral viewpoints. Good seats are now more limited (similar to The Social in Fitzroviaand very close to the entrance that could cause noise in case of late admissions. Also, better not come earlier than doors time, restaurants tables are often fully booked so you may have to wait outside.
One of my best local discoveries in Earls Court. The English Breakfast was tasty, the coffee was well made, the atmosphere as well as the furniture was pretty unique and the staff were friendly. I would definitely go there again. It was not very packed on Sunday morning at around 11 am and the music was lovely.
Been here on a concert. The beer was great, the sound was perfect .. but omg the place downstairs is so unfit for large groups of people. Nowhere to sit, nowhere to stand, toilet behind the scene, so that you cant get in there while the band is playing. There were only 50 tickets they say, the venue is fine for 20 then.
Unique quirky restaurant and bar. They serve food with a French twist. We ordered few plates to share and a glass of wine. Pretty reasonable prices and good service. The decorations inside the restaurant are very eclectic. There are old signs hung on walls and mandolins and teapots decorating walls and ceiling. If you like some music, you should check out the club downstairs. They have live music few times a week. Book in advance if you can.
