Quaint local tavern with a patio offering an all-day menu of traditional pub fare, plus live music.
service was very good for a Friday night server was very polite
Great food and amazing staff. Lovely atmosphere
Came in 4 a quick drink and the lady behind the bar was so friendly definitely recommend
Food exceptable, Sevice requires improvement
Excellent pub. Karen behind the bar is awesome. Good priced beer.
Good, food a little expensive for a pub but good quality
Quiet and tidy for lunchtime / afternoon visit. Outside seating a boon. Reasonably priced "pub" food (fish and chips / steak/ roast chicken etc.)
Lovely decor and good choice of drinks. 2 cocktails for £12 on Fri and Sat. Food menu available and offer for greater goers. Overall, great pub.
Met my daughter after work we had a lovely meal here before going to the Palace theatre, the staff were great,it was pretty busy but didnt wait long for our our food which was amazing and good value for money, its a great place
Lovely food Im going back there fir another classic quarter pounder delicious xxxxx
Very pleasant. Food excellent!
Love going there l. The food is amazing
Disgusting and upsetting behaviour by staff refused to serve a friend of mine with an allergy to nuts saying that they did not have to serve her saying there are laws in place the only rule I am aware of is natashas law which is all to do with packaging not pubs to give information on menus I will for one not be using again or any other chain associated with the east anglia group
Some great local ales, and reasonably priced. But traffic noise can be disturbing at times.
Nice vibe as you walked in busy food looked good but had Indians booked or who have stayed
Very nice place but unfortunately understaffed on the day we visited also the beer pumps were all not working correctly as told by the staff been like this for a whileNice pint when got it though
Had a lovely roast, one of the best I’ve had. Friendly staff and great atmosphere! Recommend a visit to this pub for locals and non locals alike!
Nice roast dinner and service. Shame that the only veggie option is a nut roast. But the halloumi dippers were delishious!
Absolutely love this place.Friendly staff, love the little touch of the free bar snacks as in photo.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Popped in with all my old pokemon cards only to be met with weird looks . No one there wanted to trade a thing other than money for alcoholic beverages and/or food. So I got drunk and ate a burger. Was alright.
Friendly staff definitely. Book early because it gets busy thats testament to the service and value. Spotlessly clean and well worth a visit.
Good food, 20% discount if you have theatre tickets and the manager works tirelessly to ensure everything goes smoothly. Huge credit to this guy.
Very accommodating visit after our meeting at.the Palace Theatre once a month
Great quality food with good sized portions. Food was tasty and freshly cooked. Decent price. Excellent table service. Will visit again
Good food. Good value. A bit cramped in one corner.
Always a great place for a few beers and the foods good too,so glad it has reopened 👍👍👍
Great to see The Trading rooms open again. This place is a much needed venue for Westcliff because it offers a high level of food and a decent pint for a reasonable price. The trading rooms absence I think has made many locals realise how important it is for the local area. I went in last night Friday and it was as claimed, very busy. We still managed to get a table and order some food no problem. I chose a burger, nothing special about that I suppose. My son had the same. The best burger I ever had was in New York until yesterday. Yes a burger is a burger. But to get the meat as tender as that burger was. Well I have never had a better one. All three of us had main and desert the service was efficient and friendly from the moment we walked in. And I recommend the Guinness which is sublime. Well done guys and gals the Trading rooms is most definitely back .
They should update their online site. The pub has been closed for nearly a year and doesnt show any signs of reopening. Shame..it was a great place whilst open.Went passed there today...theres a notice on the doors that its reopening on 4.11.21. Looked through the window and its been cleaned and tables set up. Hope it comes toback to its former self!
Staff polite and sticking to the current covid rules well, clean, met friends for lunch. Food was ok nothing special considering the price, £14 for a burger with small portion of chips, add a pudding and I hit £28 for lunch! Our waitress was lovely.
Went for a meal after work. Everything very clean and socially distanced. Meal was excellent, as was the service. Good value. Good selection of real ales.
Very polite staff, the girl that greeted me was informative and helpful, they keep to the covid distancing and was an enjoyable experience..the beers were fresh and the whole place was clean to a near mirror finish..classy interior. Will happily drink here again and will order food next time as well :A+++++
Eat here on a regular basis as pub is easily accessible for my friend in a wheelchair. The staff have always been very kind and considerate. Summer means eating outside watching the Westcliff-on-Sea world go by. Only on one occasion we found our meal slightly tepid , chef immediately apologised and after 20 minutes we were presented with a freshly cooked meal which met the usual high standard. Very disappointed today to find pub hasn’t opened after lockdown. First outing for my friend since March and Trading Rooms was my first choice which in itself speaks volumes.
Food was lovely only shame was when we ordered four cocktails they had run out of glasses so served these when we said one was much smaller apparently its not so just had to lump it.in whose world are these the same size
We were here on new years Eve and had the most delicious meal. The staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive. The band on the night were superb. All of this made our evening memorable and enjoyable. Thank you to all the staff. Keep up the good work.
All seemed lovely until I started feeling ill shortly after and was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. Kitchen obviously isn’t hygienic. Avoid, or at least avoid the goats cheese sandwich! ***This is now an add on to my original review. I’am now on day 6 of what is now confirmed severe food poisoning and no end in sight. I have googled their hygiene rating and it’s 1!!!! No wonder I’m so ill and this was back in February they got this 1* and they obviously haven’t done anything to improve this!!! Please don’t eat here. Ever.
Great catching up with an old mate in the local. Today they had the Cheeky Girls serving behind the bar. Leigh beers good, pretzels good 👍
Had a lovely early dinner, love the new decor. Food was fabulous, had the perfectly cooked salmon with a prawn cream sauce, great service and very reasonably priced, will definitely be back 👌
My work colleagues and I pop in here after work sometimes. The beer is usually pretty good and the gin is very good, if a tad expensive. The service is great, barstaff remember us and chat to us. There is a friendly atmosphere and there is a good pub quiz one night a week (though sadly my colleagues and I have never arrived early enough for the beginning of the quiz).
Absolutely disgusted with the cleanliness of this place. We sat and smelt urine I told the staff on 2 occasions and one said thats why the air fresheners are there. There was 8 of us and we was going to order hot food but decided to have just olives bread etc and made a quick exit to spaghetti junction.
A very nice traditional boozer - smart, welcoming and comfortable. Good selection of beers, decent pub food and quality live music on the last Saturday of the month.
Staff are exceptionally accommodating and friendly, helps that Im a regular probably, food is always delicious and of a high quality, not to mention the roast dinner on Sunday. Was by far the best meal here, go for a chefs platter on a Sunday, its 2nd to none! Would have liked the sound on for football but people were eating I guess...
Generous portions and friendly service. Roast dinner was good value for money and comes with pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese as standard! Spencer and Sophie were our servers and both were very helpful.
Delicious! Had fajitas, they were amazing and the chocolate fudge cake was also really special! Staff so lovely, even went to buy Tabasco when I asked for it and they didnt have any, really above and beyond service wise. Also 2 for 1 mains on Monday and Tuesday which is such an amazing deal!
I have yet to be disappointed. The service is always great, the food is always lovely - I highly recommend the Sunday roast! Daily specials are available, and if nothing there satisfies you there is plenty on the regular menu to choose from.
For my first visit to The Trading Room and it seems like a nice pub. The food I had sat outside on a sunny bank holiday was delicious. I fancied sausages and mash with onion gravy and it was delicious. Cumberland sausages are my favourites. Mmmm yummy. A lovely traditional pub.
Fantastic beer, BUT, the senior staff do like to talk to their friends, so you may have to WAIT FOR A WHILE, TILL THEY CAN BE BOTHERED. This is a great pub, but the senior staff appear to let it down.
Here is my honest opinion. The food is great, as long as the place is reasonably busy. The wine is decent and pints are clean. Staff could be trained better, however have so far been polite and very accommodating during each visit! The Trading Rooms is under rated! A good local!
Cant speak for the food as only go there to drink. Good range of draught lagers and (realbitters. Nice wines. Up-market decor and pricey with it! Can be rowdy at weekends/holidays etc. Have been in pub several times when fights have broken out.
We held a surprise 50th birthday party here for my husband. I was very anxious when the staff said they would prepare everything (including the decorations suppliedbut they did an absolutely fantastic job! Everyone who came to the party said they had a fantastic time in a great venue. The staff and manager could not have been more friendly and helpful. We would like to say a big thank you to Danny and his team for making it such a great night for all.
From the moment I clasped my eyes on this atrocity of a building I knew I was destined for the most abysmal pub experience of my entire life. Yet still, in the name of fairness, and with god by my side, I stepped across the threshold into the unknown. As I walked in I was greeted by dull, featureless bar staff whose lifeless, scowling eyes, filled with thinly veiled contemptuous rage, followed me suspiciously around the building - I strongly suspect theyre mostly small-time players in a murky criminal underworld, or at the very least, Illuminati spies. The clientele? Pah! Perhaps the sorriest looking, rag-tag group of reprobates and rapscallions this town has to offer. Perversely plotting, and drinking what appeared to be some kind of fermented vegetable drink? They had it in for me. I knew it.The unearthly stench of putrid vomit, blood and despair permeated my olfactory senses as I approached the bar - this place hadnt been cleaned in months, possibly even years. It felt as if death stalked the very air around me, and the catacombs of hell were only a drink away. The filthy, emaciated barmans beady, reptilian eyes bored into me with vicious lust as I ordered an ale from the meagre, classless selection. He merely grunted in response, then, with his blood stained claw-hand he thrust forward a pint of what I suspected to be a concoction consisting primarily of recycled dregs from the numerous half drunk glasses collected at closing time the evening before. Sadly, it turned out to be far, far worse. I wretched as I gulped it down. Poison - as I suspected! I hastily made my way to the lavatory, weaving my way through the prostitutes, criminals and Illuminati spies as I felt the toxin slowly coursing its way through my veins. Upon entering what I can only describe as a disease ridden cesspit of filth and corruption, my bowls relinquished their dignity and I collapsed, sweating in putrid puddle of my own, now toxic, excrement. This place; a disease ridden pustule on the anus of humanity, I whispered to myself in impotent rage. Surely I wasnt destined to leave this cruel world in such an undignified manner? I flirted with conciousness for an unknown duration of time. It could have been minutes, it could have been hours. It may well have been years. Ill never know.
