Old school in the good wayDont slack on your outfit they do have a dress code last time I went at least (ex. no shorts n tees)Definitely more of special occasion place for most but worth trying out as a Columbus institution

Excellent food on all dishes ! Will order the salmon again. . The steaks were cooked perfectly. Service and attention to detail top notch!

We love The Top, so Im saddened to say we were so disappointed. My prime rib was over cooked and my broccoli was undercooked. The ribs were not up to par either.But the atmosphere was delightful and we love, love, love Dave Powers!

I will preface by saying the food and drinks were delicious! My disappointment came at the end of our evening which was around 10pm. I went to the ladies room and there was a puddle of something on the floor that resembled urine. The other stall was occupied and I shouldve left, but I really had to go, and when I sat down the entire toilet seat was wet! I felt so dirty and disgusted and couldnt get out of there fast enough! My husband and I come every year for my birthday or our anniversary and spend obscene amounts of money for the experience, but I have seen cleaner restrooms in the convenience store gas stations. I hope this is not the norm. I dont think Ill even venture in the restrooms again if we come back.

If you like dives, this has the atmosphere you will like. Dark and crowded at bar. Waiter makes excellent drinks, but I have had much better food for the price. Kitchen is slow.

Service was reasonable but the prices were ridiculous. $32 for an over cooked dry fois gras, just for this dried out piece of fois, on an over cooked ribeye. First, last, and only time there.

We love it here! A special occasion for us for sure, but we love the ambience, the service, and the food explanation point!

five stars for the ambiance and service! one star off because the french fries were bizarrely terrible — soft and floppy. hope they can work on that!

Service and attention was great considering that they were a little understaffed due to the status of the labor market today. Definitely tried to negate the problem that seems to be affecting most service businesses in todays marketplace.

It was okay. Back patio is beautiful. Not necessarily kid friendly. Hard to get a parking spot. Our bread and salad came fast however it took very long to get our meals so by the time we got our meals the two young kids were ready to go.

Delicious steak and fantastic cocktails. Ambient dim lighting with a ritzy rat-pack vibe. Great fancy date night locale.

Loved the atmosphere, but very noice in the dining room. Could not hear my husband talking to me and vice versa. So looking forward to a great steak but so disappointing in what we received. His ribeye did not taste like ribeye and my prime rib was very bland. The mashed potatoes I believe were instant and the bread crust was very hard, not able to cut with steak knife. It was my birthday dinner and I could have had better at Longhorn. We complained twice too deaf ears. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. $146.00 down the drain and we had no drinks. Oh we drove an hour to get to this place, not worth it at all!!

Still a wonderful old steak house. We celebrated our 50th anniversary with another couple, and we all got different meals. Porterhouse, Petite filet, prime rib and pork chop. All were cooked to perfection, and delicious. Highly recommended.

We were so excited to come here for the first time for our 40th anniversary. What a disappointing experience. Our food was cold when arrived to the table, lobster was tough and rubbery and definitely not worth $60, steak was tough, salad looked old and wilted. Extremely disappointing and a waste of saving up hard earned money to be let down.

There are a lot of restaurants/steakhouses serving very good steak dinners in the Columbus area. However, I would rate The Top as one of the very best in terms of food and service. It has the vibe of an older steakhouse and the staff are extremely professional personable. It was a pleasure to dine there the other night.

This place is a Columbus landmark for a reason. The food is, of course, amazing but the setting is so retro mod that youd think youd time traveled back to 1960. Easily one of my favorite places to go

Have been going to the top steakhouse for decades and I have to say that this was the worst service Ive ever had there. We ordered an appetizer and and the salads came out before the appetizer and then the appetizer came out as we were eating our salads and then before we finished with the appetizer The main course came out. I also ordered a glass of wine to have with my prime rib which he never brought.

The Top was wonderful. The decore is very dated. But that adds to its charm. An the food. Omg there may not be a better dry aged ribeye in the city. Everything we had was cooked to perfection.

Was there Saturday evening. First time I was ever disappointed. Food was just ok. I had never had just ok food before. Server was not friendly. Went for my birthday and was disappointed. I know they were busy and will give them another chance but will ask for a different server. Hope next time will be like it has been in the past. I had invited friends but they couldn’t go to a medical emergency. I am glad they couldn’t go. That is how bad it was

This place is exactly what you think of when you think classic steak house. Our waiter, David, was great. Will be back!

The drinks are top notch! Service is consistently great. There are so many good choices on the menu for a quick meal at the bar or a celebration dinner! It’s my fave for our anniversary.

I was shocked that their coke products were all flat (no co2)All Manager has to call Coke or NuCo. Both operate 24/7. At this price point, this restaurant should operate better. What other details in the kitchen are they not handling. My friends brought here for a celebration. My first visit. Not impressed

The mac and cheese was something to write home about. Everything was grand from start to finish; our waiter even showed us the small private room suitable for about 12ish people (though they said theyve fit 20 in thereand a secret door...super cool stuff.Fair warning, the entire womans restroom is very cumbersome to move around in.

Visited for dinner for my bachelor party; not only was my meal excellent, but Emily was a huge hit for our table. Two of my party received overcooked steaks, one word to a busboy, and there she was to make everything right. Id say our experience was improved by the drama. Its refreshing to receive such excellent response to a complaint these days. Shout out to Emily and Hannah for doing everything they could to make it right!

Wonderful dining experience! The grouper literally melts in your mouth and the pineapple/cucumber salsa was the perfect compliment. The service was excellent, with so many to help pull us under cover from the rainshower that popped up. The patio was beautiful. All around excellent experience!

My wife chose The TOP for our anniversary dinner. Although a bit pricey, the steak was superb!

This is the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Truly delicious. I had the Fillet, and the cheesecake for dessert. I should also mention our server was amazing. She had darker hair, freckles, and a couple tattoos on her left arm - I forget her name but she deserves to be mentioned because the service was excellent!

Let me preface this review by saying the service we received was spectacular. This review is all due to the food & drinks.We had reservations inside, unfortunately had to go outside due to a table staying longer than anticipated... inconvenient but was no issue. The manager was very accommodating and offered to give us a free appetizer, and thankfully, those all tasted wonderful.Ordered an old fashioned, somehow it was made with sweet vermouth, our wonderful server rectified this and brought the correct drink. Not a single steak was cooked correctly, I ordered a ribeye, and I received a NY strip. I told our server, she checked her order and confirmed that I did, in fact, order a ribeye and she took my plate back to the kitchen. She returned saying the chef assured her this was a ribeye ...it was 100% a strip. (I purchase half cows direct from a local farmer and have my entire life, I am very familiar with cuts of beefSo I ate it anyway not wanting to complain and I was starving. After I had almost finished my steak, they brought me out a new steak, a ribeye. I genuinely appreciated this, as I stated, incredible service. They even comped my steak.The entire tables potatoes (mashed and bakedwere dry, overcooked and unappetizing, the vegetables had zero salt or seasoning, steaks were bland and underseasoned. Had it not been for the service this would have been a zero star experience.I dont know what happened to The Top, but this was absolutely atrocious food quality for the cost. Something definitely needs to change.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at The Top. I have spent years telling him how amazing this place was, and it did not disappoint! The steaks were perfectly cooked. Our waiter, Daryl, was extremely attentive and even gave us a free lemon bar (with candles!to take home for our special occasion. An amazing way to spend our evening.

Had a lovely meal at The Top with my children. Everything was wonderful. The cocktails were good, the food was delicious, the wait staff was great, and the atmosphere was so nostalgic. My only complaint is that I could not find Don Draper anywhere! Or Frank Sinatra. Not even Dean Martin!

I was skeptical going in... but where to begin?This was a fantastic experience. Outstanding food, cooked and seasoned to order; charismatic and efficient servers, ready and available when you need something; Expensive, but worth the dollar spent. I would highly recommend anyone, with good taste, to eat here at least once in their life.

Love the classy atmosphere at the Top. We will definitely be back! The food was prepared expertly with large portions and our waiter Daryl was so attentive and fun he made our night special! Even the cheesecake was light and delicious.

Luke warm soup and steaks all cooked the same whether you order well or rare. I hate saying this but, go to any Cameron Mitchell restaurant and you’ll get better food and service for a lower price.

Well we tried the Top and it was kind of underwhelming to be honest. The wait was long. Our reservation was kicked from 730 to 8pm but we were given complimentary drinks so that was nice. My steak was overdone (not mediumand the sides were just not good :- the mushrooms were odd tasting and the green beans had too much bite. The staff was very warm and nice. The restaurant itself is clean and the asthetic is nice but its very loud inside the dinning area.... Especially when they are busy, you can barely hear your own conversations so that was not very pleasant. Another issue is the closeness of all the tables, staff often running into each other and nearly on top of each other when just walking down an aisle. All together the people working there? 5/5. The food? 3/5. The environment? 3/5.

Been here a handful of times throughout the years. Came again tonight with family for our annual Christmas Eve, Eve dinner. Our meal was fantastic and our service superb. Probably the best visit Ive had.

First time I have been here in a very long time. We actually had a party of 5 people. We made reservations for my fathers 70 year old birthday party. The reservations were made weeks in advance, but our party literally sat for over an hour waiting to be seated. That sat me directly beside the piano with about 10 inches of space. If this is 5 star service I would hate to see anything less than this. If I was any closer to this piano player I would be sitting on the bench with him. Save your money. The experience wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

I have been wanting to try The Top for several years now but we never seem to make it over to this side of town. This year I said screw it and told my girlfriend that I wanted to come here for my birthday. Our experience last night was very good overall and our server Cheralene was exceptional. When we received our meals (both ordered NY Strip, mediummine was cooked perfectly while my girlfriends was quite rare. Hey, it happens, no big deal. Cheralene immediately took care of the issue and then some. We will definitely be back.

From the outside, this place seems slightly shady. Once you enter though that changes completely. The ambiance in the restaurant and also on the heated patio is amazing. The waiters/waitresses are really attentive and seem to really care for their guests. The prices are slightly high, but it is a fancy restaurant ($14 for potato au gratin, up to $45 for a steak).The reason they got 4 and not 5 stars is because after the waiter explained the specials we thought it sounded great and the price would be about the same as their normal steaks. Maybe even a little higher. We were in shock when the bill came and our two steak specials were $75 each!!!! Our total bill for two basic cocktails, potato au gratin and 2 steaks was $220!!! Thats CRAZY. The food was great, and I might even say the price was worth it......but I hate being blind sided by the fact those steaks were so expensive. If the prices are THAT drastically different from the most expensive steak to the special steak, then they should at least say SOMETHING. And it could be argued that maybe I should have asked and not assumed. And yes, thats true. But I didnt think a restaurant would blindside its customers like Top Steak House does. I know better know and will remember to ask.

The atmosphere, steaks, and drinks were great! I ordered a lobster tail as the “surf and turf” option. The lobster was extremely over cooked. My steak knife couldn’t even get through it. The manager took half of the price off our bill which was nice. I brought it home and even with significant amounts of butter and covering it in macaroni and cheese, it was still inedible.

Made a reservation here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and The Top delivered in every way!!! Hannah, our server was warm, inviting and saw to our every need. The food was well presented and delicious!! The restaurant has a certain charm that will draw you in and make you want to return!!

Its name speak for itself because it is Top of the line quality flavor and taste. The food was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I wanted to kiss the chef and slap everyone in there, thats how good the food was. It was worth every penny paid, dont be cheap and not tip the waitress/waiter a decent tip! You will not be disappointed!

Went here for the first time tonight and we had an extraordinary time. Our waiter was amazing and he was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the restaurant. He helped me pick a drink, my wife the right wine, and helped with my entree. The cowboy steak was excellent, the Creme Brulee was good, and the Crab Cake was to die for!

The atmosphere and ambiance cannot be replicated at any other restaurant in Columbus. The food was delectable, the portions were abundant. It is worth every penny. The decor is classic and still stylish. A truly hidden gem.

The best meal I’ve ever had!!! Ripeye steak and onion rings are below my mind😍Steak was cooked medium well and onion rings were crispy but not oily at all. Love their soufflé too,crispy on top but soft inside. Good vibes with old songs and bartenders treated us well. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely come back

Hands down one of the best steakhouses in town. Great old school vibe sets it apart from the chain steakhouses downtown. Reservation is probably a good idea every night of the week unless you get there as it opens. Great list of classic cocktails, wine, selection of fantastic steaks, and lobster. The Oysters Rockefeller are awesome. A definite must visit in Columbus.

One of the best steaks Ive ever had. If you want to go to old Vegas but cant travel back on time, this is the place for you. You can almost see Frankie and Dean smoking in the corner booth. Great service and the food is terrific

OVERALL: Low lit steakhouse that is priced nicely to quality and quantity of food.MENU: Small menu but done right. They know what they are about and they do it well.STAFFING: Our waitress Emily N. was rude and sarcastic. Her attitude didnt start that way and only went down hill when we didnt order neither wine/beer nor appetizers. For that, this place loses two stars.MEAL: Huge portions from what I typically expect from an elegant steakhouse. Ordered a rare kansas city strip with a side of green beans and roasted peppers. Both were beautifully crafted and the meal came out quick for as crowded as it was and as thick as the steaks were.ATMOSPHERE: Place is upscale but typical volume from other customers voices exceeded beyond the ability to hear my peers talking across the booth at normal volume. This is of no fault to the restaurant.CLEANLINESS: Seems like an older building but looked clean enough in the low light.
