The Top Penang, Theme Park Penang in Butterworth
Description
Privilege
Poor manageability.Serving customers while looking at phone.Wrong schedule advice which lead to customer loss. Not recommend to visit, all open door park are none refundable due sudden weather change.Even it is refundable, it only provide a weekday ticket which mostly people are working.Feel like get scammed.Sadly Google not allow to put zero star rating
MoreIncredible views of Penang. Had to wait to go up to the skywalk because of the weather. Eventually, I was able to go up to the observation deck but had to wait a little bit more to go up to the 68th floor. The rainbow walk was closed but was still able to walk around and enjoy the views. Would like to go back when the weather is better and the top floor is back to normal operations. FYI, you dont get a refund if the weather doesnt allow you to go up. I took the risk and luckily it reopened after an hour.
MoreWorth a visit to view Penang from above. Would recommend the rainbow walk. We went around sunset. However, a friend went at night and took equally good shots. Open till 10pm everyday except Tuesday.
MoreWent to the Observatory Deck and Rainbow Skywalk with my family. The staff was friendly and the view was nice but the Skywalks floor was really hot (even though it was only 10 something in the morningto the point it hurt our bare feet (you are not allowed to wear shoes while walking on the glass floor areaso I recommend you bring/wear socks. Unfortunately, the family photos we got from the RM 110 souvenir photos package were extremely mediocre. My grandparents were not even captured in frame properly in their photo and all photos were taken without the camera exposure properly adjusted. I hope that The Top will train/retrain their staff on how to properly take photos so that future visitors will be able to get wonderful photo souvenirs.
MoreSuggestion to the management..1Please close at sharp time.We arrived last station 10 mins early, but boutique aquarium been closed. I saw some others customers didnt manage go in also.2The staff should trained well and dont argue with the customers saying that "if u come early around 11am,u should be finish all tour before 6pm" and make the blame on customers.3)If the park need to close earlier at 6 pm because of Halloween event(normal closing time 7pm), should make the announcementat least half hour before closed. The staff didnt inform to every customer when we purchased the ticket make us confusing on closing time.Anyway, the manager is understanding and still let us in at last.or else there will be a trip with kids disappointment.
MoreThe theme park doesnt seem exciting like the others given that its an indoor theme park. Limited options available and the attractions doesnt seem worth the money, only several attractions are interesting enough such as Gravityz and Tech Dome, others are mediocre and to me is not worth it. If you want to spend your precious time with your small kids then this place might somehow satisfy their excitement.
MoreYah kinda cool but tbh kinda overpriced and overhyped. I want to try the gravityz package but the staff who incharge for that are not friendly and not helping at all. Were literally at the counter of the gravityz and she asked us to go to the other counter to purchase. Once we arrived at the other kaunter, the staff at that counter told us we need to purchase at the counter we came from. We literally go back and forward from these two counters and not get any progression. All i want is to try the package. That one staff literally using her phone while talking to us. Idk, if youre on break, just say so, well find those who willing to help us out instead of troubling us like that. And yah we end up didnt try the packages. 😌 Please train your staff to become better customer services. Thanks
MoreGreat views when you are at the Top. 68th floor is my favourite. The seats allow you to enjoy the strong winds. There wasnt a crowd when I visited so it was enjoyable to rest there awhile. If you have a time, there is a public restaurant on 68th too. I imagine it would be nice to dine there. We didnt try it because we didnt have the time.
MoreTherere lots of things to visit here.. Like rainbow skywalk.. Dinosaur.. Muzium.. The gravity.. Foodcourt also have.
Morewe bought all in package ticket. if u are planning to go to all attraction make sure to come as early as u can. we are staying at Jen Hotel beside komtar. u can go in and out because the ticket valid for one whole day. if u are government servant bring along your staff ID so that u can get discount for the ticket price. but this was during 2019. im not sure whether they still have that kind of promo. can call for confirmation
MoreNice city view at night with romantic atmosphere. Rm68 ticket price per person with Malaysian IC. Not really crowded (went there around 8pm). But the restaurant at the top was quite busy. The only cons was that there were no proper guide to the top. We just asked around the way to go there, plus they didn’t switch on the lights in some areas inside the building which makes it seems like they are not operating. But overall it’s worth it.Take a lift to 6th floor, pay for the ticket at the counter here, can ask the security or staff which way to go next. From here go to 65th floor for indoor walk(outside view, souvenir booth), proceed to 68th floor for top view. There’ll be staffs waiting outside the lifts on 65th floor and 68th floor. They’ll open and close the lift for us.
MoreWonderful experience. Over my expectations.A lot of stuff at Tech Dome to experience.Rainbow skywalk is excited, walking at glass that you can see everything below 65th floor...scary but fun. You MUST try this.Several attractions is close, like 3D Discover Motion :-(If you brave enough walk outside from level 68.... you must try THE GRAVITYZI would skip JURASSIC RESEARCH CENTERAs for PENANG BOUTIQUE AQUARIUM...is OK
MoreI didnt know this place exist until I saw a large protruding Dino neck from outside of the mall. To get here, in the mall itself is quite confusing. So you have to ask shop owners how to actually go to The TOP. Suggest for the business owners to put foot prints sticker on floor or more clear signage. The lift is at parking area that leads up.Paid RM98 for one adult ticket w 9 attractions. Was worth it. Kids enjoy it. Spend all our day there. If u have a kid, suggest to do all attractions first and Dino Gym last (because Dino gym is extra payment and only one time entrance). They have carousel, house of zombie, ufo ride, house of mirrors, dinosaur enclosure, science exhibits etc.My only unhappy thing is the toilet (thats why u rate it 4 stars). Its run down. Smells. No changing table for babies and no proper bin to dispose diaper. Realised the bin is actually Outside the toilet. Ended, people actually throw smelly diapers in the cabinet below. Urghhhhh.
MoreBought the 3 attractions pass worth Rm 70+ for adults and RM50+ for kids . Overall it was a good experience. Went for the Jurassic research center, boutique aquarium, and the rainbow skybridge... Jurassic research center was quite good and has some good amount of dinosaurs. Boutique aquarium was nothing special, its just aquarium with fishes. I could have gone to the Batu maung fish aquarium to see it. Rainbow skybridge was a "mini rainbow". You have to lineup to go through that short route ... It was not really that fascinating.. anyway for the price, I think it was worth it
MoreParking is difficult. MB is the only f&b available around tge attraction. Kid friendly of course but not stroller/wheelchair friendly.
MoreVisited the aquarium, Dino park and the rainbow walk here. The maintenance and upkeep of the attraction definitely have seen better days. However if you happen to be in the area and have some free time it might be worth it to check it out. The view from the top floor is amazing, especially if you are there at sunset.
MoreHighly recommended. Specially the Top deck where Atmost The entire city is visible. Price a bit more 68 MYR for observation deck and the top but considering its very high and good place to click photos so worth.
MoreThe Top Penang is an indoor theme park and edutainment center in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located inside the high-rise KOMTAR Tower and has 18 different attractions that are an exciting blend of education and fun. These include an aquarium, the Jurassic Research Centre, Tech Dome, the Rainbow Skywalk with stunning rooftop views, and more. It’s the perfect destination for a family-friendly day out.
MoreNear komtar bus stop. But the building and facilities looks old. Bought a discount ticket pass from their website. Theres a fancy restaurant at the top
MoreGives you 360 view of Penang. We came at around 3PM so we only enjoyed the observatory at level 66. The open air deck at level 68 was way too hot to be enjoyed at that time. Its better to come later in the evening so you can enjoy the sunset. We came on Saturday but the place is not that busy (maybe because we come when its still very hot).
MoreAmazing view at the top of observatory desk ( level 65). The top Penang give us 3 attractions & parks. Such as Avenue of adventures, rainbow skywalk & Tech dome Penang. Locals & tourists will enjoy so much. Close on Tuesday unless on public holiday.
MoreThe Top Penang is located in George Town. It’s a Theme Park with so many indoor activities. It has the Jurassic Research centre for kids who love Dinosaurs, Magic Mirror Maze, Aquarium, UFO-X , zombie outbreak, Tech Dome a science centre etc. A lot to do for both kids and adults . Can’t finish in a day but it’s best to go early and spend the whole day .
MoreWould give it ZERO stars if I can!!! Dishonest business and zero customer service. I bought some tickets through their website. Once the transaction was through I was shown an error page. Thinking that my transaction failed, I tried to buy again and again was shown the error page. Later on the email came in that my card has been charged both times. After contacting the staff, I was told that I will be refunded for one of the transactions. Till today, nothing was done and it has been over a month! Call the hotline and nobody was there to answer the calls and voicemail was full. Is this how the biggest attraction in Penang makes profit? Totally dishonest!
MoreRecommended for family with young children, especially Jurassic research center with indoor/outdoor dinosaur theme and the aquarium. Great views from the Skywalk. Not too crowded as we went on a weekday.Female toilet was dirty, wet, cubicles did not have tissue. Staffs were limited to certain areas/elevators only, not sure why.
MoreThis place is pretty cool tho I kinda think the price for their theme park can be slightly pricey, also if they have more shops/eateries open at the entrance then the place wouldn’t look a bit dull
MoreBest experience in my life time, at level 65th and 68th sky walk you can see amazing view of city, two Penang bridges and sea.Go there and enjoy.
MoreThere are a lot of things to do. The ticket price was worth it. I love the observation deck, the aquarium and tech dome. Visit this place.
MoreWorst organisation ever. Walking around the mall following signs only to find no staff and everything closed. Finally get to the entrance only to be told we need tickets yet the ticket counter is closed with no staff. Wasted an hour to find the enterance and then finally it started raining.Restaurant on 5th floor don’t have English menus.
MoreDid not visit the attractions at the top floor so I cant comment much about that. The amusement park at level 6 is not worth a visit though. The tickets are quite expensive if you just visit one or two attractions and do not get the combo deal. We visited the zombie outbreak and it was just a small museum that displays a few models of zombies and we were out within 5 minutes. The ghost museum at Georgetown is much better. The arcade games for children are a rip-off at RM3 for one token and some machines were out of order during our visit. Dun bother about the bumper rides too which only operate 4 times per day and cost $10 per ride.
MoreFirst of all,Do have a another counter just for KLOOK to scan their QR code and redeem the wrist band asap.Instead, people who want to buy their ticket at the counter (take few mins to decideand people who have bought the tickets at KLOOK all Q at the same line.Cos the line expand till the car park parking.-I only get the rainbow walk and observatory deck ticket. But nothing to shout about. Some of the windows have stains all over it.-Staff is friendly 👍🏼But I won’t be coming back again for the ticket price and poor maintenance facilities.
MoreThere are several packages available and I bought a combo pass that cost RM75 for 3 attractions - The Rainbow Skywalk, Top Boutique Aquarium & Jurassic Research Center. The place was not crowded when visited during a public holiday. However, there is no obvious signboards or instructions to indicate the entrance as it really took us quite some time to search for the entrance.
MoreHad a lot of fun here with the skywalk , Gravitaz which is on the 65F. Apart from the great views you get to go for several challenges . We chose the half challenge which was 79myr. The instructor who guided us was quite professional and a nice person, he ensured our safety and putting on the safety gear. Overall looked the challenge. Also there’s a viewing deck on 68F which we didn’t get to go this time
MoreIt has an amusement park for those who are afraid of heights. ❤️❤️❤️The views from the 65th and 68th floor are very amazing. There are 2 glass platforms where these challenge people who is afraid of height.Best to go during sunset.
MorePenang dosnt have a spectacular skyline so the view is nice but nothing special. I wouldnt say its a must do.
MoreEverything OK but I felt dissatisfied with their admission tickets counter. They should set up a lane specially for online purchased redemption.
MoreAn Indoor theme park located in the Komtar building. Easy to find and park inside the building itself. Few many attractions to choose as a package. Skywalk is also located at the top floor of the same building. Staff are friendly but entry tickets are a bit pricey though.
MoreWorth for the visit at dinosaurs park. The size of each dinosaurs is based on 1 to 1 actual size. Choose the time in the evening when you can watch the scenery on The Top before lights appeared in the darkness of the city.
MoreThe best place to see penang from highest iconc tower in penang. You can enjoy sunset if you lucky too.
MoreEnjoy the views and the glass walkway, the rainbow walk. It was not busy so we did not feel crowded so we were able to take our time. Due to Covid restrictions the number of people in the elevator is restricted so plan to wait in the line a little longer.
More3 hours and rm300 worth of lunch for 5 persons. Superbly worth it as it includes the entry ticket as well. On top of that, because you have a reservation at Top View restaurant, you get the chance to go up via VIP lane. No need to que at all. The meal ? Fantastic. What a way to enjoy a tasty meal with the best view from level 68. Must try !
MoreThe Top Penang, Jurassic Research Center is a must to visit for those parents to take their kids and family while visiting the island.😁 The Jurassic Research Center is an indoor and outdoor entertaining theme park that bring more than 200 dinosaurs back to life in a such educational way for both kids and adults. If your goal is to keep the family happy, engaged and entertained, then you have reached the right place. Totally recommended👌.
MoreFirstly, for any newcomers wanted to come to The Top, please take the lift near the carpark. During my visit on 23/11, there are no signage asking us to take the car park lift and we waited in front of the Main Entrance and the side entrance in Komtar waiting for it to be open, but thanks to the guy that own a shop near there told us to take the lift.- The Top AquariumNot really as good as Aquaria but its good for me.- Jurassic Research CenterHmmm... I swear there was an indoor intro show before proceed to the outdoor of the Jurassic Research Center but we were told to straight move to the outdoor section. Kind of a bummer since there is no transition from our world to the research center like we hope for based on some videos on YouTube. The Dinosaur animatronics is good some seem better days and the theming is actually good too as if Dinosaurs is invading Komtar but I really really hope that at least make a lake section or anything that has water since it was really really HOT during the afternoon so at least the water can cool us down- The Top and Rainbow SkywalkThere is an indoor section and outdoor section. The indoor section there is also a window glass floor that you can take instagrammable pics. Sadly, Gravityz is not opened during my visitOn the outdoor section, the skybridge there will be a photographer take pictures of you and your family but dont worry, after the take pictures of you, you and your family can personally and freely take pictures using your own camera. And later, if you want to buy the pictures that was took by the photographer, they will ask you to pay RM100 for two pictures and a folder, from my experience, just straight ask for a soft copy which costs RM25, they will not tell you until you exit from the photo booth.
MoreRm150 for 3 attraction for 2 adult. Gov servant can get 10% off. Top view, dino and the aquarium. Best place to bring along your family and kids.
MoreGood to spend weekends in one location, comes with play station. Skywalk is awesome, if you are dare enough try out the gravity... Good for kids and family too. Tickets are quiet expensive but they give discounts for government sectors
MoreNice view from the top open air. 360 view only at observatory deck. The dinosaur research centre was below expectations. The aquarium is good. The tanks are well maintain. Water is very clear. Also very unique with old antiques in the tank.Main entrance is closed. Be sure to scan the QR code for directions. I got lost searching around.
MoreWent to Penang for just 2 days around October 2019 and visited this place, it was really nice. Luckily it was very close to our hotel that we went walking. A little pricier than expected for expats in particular but it had A LOT of places to cover. Make sure you go early so that you have enough time to really go through everything and wear comfortable shoes, theres a lot of walking.
MoreThe Top allow you to stand on the tallest building in Penang and enjoy the Penang view. There is a entrance fee need to visit The Top Penang. Inside the building you can find some other interesting place such as aquarium, Jurassic Research Center and etc. Good and nice place for family and children. Friendly staff and clean environment.
MoreThis probably the nicest place in Penang to visit! The structure is so great! The view is soooo nice! The experience on TOP is one of a kind! You should never missed this place when visiting Penang! It is breath taking! Its a bit scary to look down from the Top but the heart beat it gave was so nice!!!!
MoreA variety of shops , resturants and entertainment for the kids to do and all in one building. Take the lift to level 68 and checkout the sky walk, amazing views, even a restaurant up the top. We then checked out the aquarium and kids play centre. Great day out with the kids.
MoreSo many attractions here at such an affordable price. More discounts if youre a government staff. They have Jurassic Park, a very large Science based attraction, 7d theater, fish aquaria-like, observatory walk at level 65 & 68, etc. A must visit and spend one day there. But be aware of the time. Some attractions close earlier and has schedules for shows. Most recommended place to bring your children along for learning and fun!
