Went for lunch and got some sandwiches, a rum and Pepsi, and wine flights. Wines were okay, one tasted watered down. The rum and Pepsi was also just okay Disappointed in the number of beers available for tasting. The wife and I agreed food was good and worthwhile for the visit.

Sorry but they made a mistake on our order, no rush to remake it, then sent us home with a to go box with inedible food because the rest of the party had finished by the time they could grill a piece of chicken.

Probably will not go backEDIT****Let me add this the morning after our meal at The Toasted goat, After driving one hundred and eighty miles, I was looking forward to a steak dinner. The service was very good and our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. The drinks were good but the new york strip was tough at best and the tuna appetizer was the size of my finger and cut into 8 very tiny pieces with a teaspoon of seaweed salad. We were grateful that there was fresh basil growing in pots outside on the patio as it gave the garden salad a burst of flavor. We were pleased that we received a 1/2 rack of ribs in exchange for the steak but frankly felt like the bbq sauce came straight from the bottle. Maybe Mondays are off days for the chef...Thanks to the owner for inquiring about our review, it shows he cares enough to make improvements

My husband and I were staying in the area for a couple days for our jobs. We heard this restaurant was very good, but we were not impressed, sorry to say. We had dinner there last night. My husband had the fish and chips. I had the buffalo chicken panini with the house-made ranch chips. Personally, the chips were my favorite part of the meal. The buffalo chicken panini was mostly cheese with a tiny bit of small pieces of chicken and very very little buffalo sauce, which tasted like it was on dry toast. The breading on my husbands fish was dark brown, and the fries were way over-salted. The waitress was friendly enough, but she seemed as if she was in a hurry to take care of what we needed and rush off to wherever. Additionally, I dont necessarily think she needed to wear anything fancy, but she looked like she would if she spent the day working around her house. Mind you there were maybe a couple more tables of customers and a few people at the bar, so the place was not packed.

We visited this place for brunch and to watch a soccer match while on vacation. The restaurant is located within a historic hotel and all the decor was cute, quaint with old world vibes. The staff is excellent. The menu is southern comfort and very good. We had the quiche of the day and biscuits with gravy. Best eggs we had in a while! Toasted Goat also has a sister winery. We didnt taste the wines but they seem to be popular.

It says this restaurant is also a winery and offers 6 tastings yet when we went to do a tasting they didn’t have 6 wines to taste.Food was ok but nothing to rave about.Once and done.

Excellent food--locally sourced--and great vibe. I came with my dog May who was immediately served a ceramic bowl of water by John the waiter/bartender who was very friendly and welcoming. I got the Toasted Goat Burger and the local raspberry Weiss beer. Chill music and home-brewed draft beer topped things off perfectly. If youre passing by Frostburg, dont miss this little jewel of a restaurant/brew house. Oh and the prices were definitely fair.

The food and atmosphere was ok to good. However the staff seemed very preoccupied. It is the restaurant recommended by the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad as you pull into Frostburg. However, I get the impression that they are not used to serving people from that train line despite likely having done so for several years. There were three in my party and we ordered three separate things. Two of them came out and at that point we were told that they no longer had the third item. I asked for something that would be quick so that we could finish up and get back to the train, however that did not come until everybody else was finished and we were ready for the check. I had to take that to go because we needed to get back to the train for the ride back to Cumberland, as there is only one train back per day. It may be an acceptable place to dine if you were in Frostburg for an extended period of time, but I would not recommend it if you are doing so as part of the railroad trip in Western Maryland.

I enjoy the atmosphere of the old Gunter hotel and the cocktails are pretty good. We have not had good experiences with the food or house-made wines. My wife had the caprese chicken and I had the fish tacos at an event a few weeks ago. Both were okay, not great.

The owners have done a fantastic job with this property. The toasted goat is amazing as is the speakeasy. The cowboy pork chop is addictive!! The cocktails are all very well done. They make their own line of spirits and wine.. and all of it is wonderful!!This is by far the place to go to in town for the best lunch, dinner and nightlife!!

Very nice place, historic and they kept that intact. Beautiful entrance with a stunning staircase. The bar/dining area will keep your attention as you look around. Beautiful pressed steel ceiling I believe to be original to the property. They use to bring prisoners to the holding area in the lower part of the building while the officers stay in the upper part which was a hotel at the time. It has since been converted into luxury apartments. The food is good, craft beer is also good. Price is good. This is worth the stop. I will return again when in the area.

Wonderful starting point after getting dropped off by the free shuttle from the Western Maryland Railway from Cumberland to Frostburg, MD. They offer what looked and smelled like an amazing brunch. It is inside The Gunter Hotel and part of the whole Western Maryland Railway experience. Sadly we had breakfast the day we went and were in the mood for something with a bit more spice. But I will be back to try it out and do the whole railroad trip allover again. I cannot recommend it enough. Amazingly friendly staff, great prices, and a fun day for adults and kids alike.

We sadly didnt eat here but we did stop in and check it out. It is inside a beautiful antique hotel in downtown Frostburg. If you ride the Western Maryland Railway from Cumberland to Frostburg, this is where you will be dropped off. Technically in the rear of the building, which leads you through an old jailhouse in the basement, past a speakeasy/distillery with phenomenal moonshine, and many displays ranging from museum quality relics to a wall of craft beers. The hotel is stunningly beautiful with antique furniture and stunning oriental rugs. The staff at all locations on our outing were amazing. I cannot give the day justice in one review. Go experience it for yourself! Adults and kids will all have something to enjoy.

Chose the place based on previous reviews. Crab cakes are good, perfect is a step too far. Burgers are good. Service is good. Do not get the red Irish draft though- not sure what kind of beer was supposed to be but it wasn’t.

Nice restaurant in a cool location. Went on a Sunday, so there wasnt much around to venture to. Food was good, not great. Limited menu, so choose wisely. Not much of a kids menu and one of the items couldnt be served at the time, so my child had to get cinnamon rolls for brunch. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times with the food not coming out hot. But it was still delicious. Loves the house chips, that were seasoned nicely. The seafood salad sandwich could have used a Kaiser roll for better appeal. The crab dip was excellent. Place hasnt been open long, so I guess the menu will expand over time. But still a great visit.

We did the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad train ride to Frostburg and then took the free shuttle to Hotel Gunther. The Toasted Goat is the hotels resident restaurant and it was incredible. Lots of tasty lunch options and an extensive cocktail, martini and beer list, as well as soft drink options. We thoroughly enjoyed dining here with our group.

The cook and bartender know what they are doing! Wow. 3 out 4 of us ordered steak, and all were very pleased. The quality, cut, and flavor of the meat was tops. 1 of us ordered the tuna--medium, it came out a bit closer to welldone but the flavors were superb. Mashed potatoes were good. Didnt much like the elder elixir but smoothies were perfection. Happy for the recommendation to eat here from the vintage store shop. 😋 thank you.

I am in Frostburg today for a meeting. A friend recommended this place. I read some of the reviews and decided to try it out. Parking out front was limited, but out back they have an outdoor patio seating with ample parking. From the back you enter through the hotel lower level. You have to check out the hotel "jail" (photos included). The restaurant has ample social distancing space. I ordered an iced tea and the Muffuletta with fries. Excellent sandwich, the fresh cut fries are highly recommended, and the iced tea was fresh. Five stars for the Toasted Goat. I will be back.

Was a little confusing to get in from the back entrance but was worth the effort to find the restaurant. Food was excellent, portions were plentiful in my opinion, excellent selection of wines and beers, plenty of options of soda pop as well. Loved the ambience of the interior including the planter that had geraniums planted in it, will make it a regular stop in the future when we are visiting.

This is our first time trying the Toasted Goat. The food was wonderful. For an appetizer we had ranch homemade chips which were very good and crunchy. For entree, I had the blue crab filet (filet with crab and melted blue cheeseand it was fantastic. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were also very good. My husband had the blackened Ahi tuna which had mango and avacado salsa on top. He said it was excellent. They have house made wines and a good beer selection as well.
