100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608, United States, Universal City
Laid-back, counter-serve fixture with a medieval motif providing British pub grub & outdoor seating.
Very fairytaly decor; very well finished. For food in such a place, I was afraid for ridiculous prices (such as the entrance ticket and the 30 dollar parking ticket), and mediocre quality. But it turned out to be reasonable prices with surprisingly high quality fast-foody slow cooked ribs! Also the giant smoked turkey wing tasted delicious, and fits the atmosphere of Hogwarts very well actually.
Probably the best restaurant at Universal Studios Hollywood. So many unique items on the menu that you cant find anywhere else in the park. Large portions too. The interior is so beautifully decorated it really does look like from the movies. The inside does get really crowded and most of the times tables are all taken in there, but luckily they have a bunch of tables just behind the restaurant. It might seem there are no tables but theres actually a lot of them outside!
Be prepared to spend at least 2hrs here on weekends. The lines are long and food takes quite a while to come out. The portions are huge, so order accordingly. The short rib for example was two racks of four with a mountain of roasted potatoes and a full corn cob.
Spent 95 + dollars on dry ribs and unflavored chiken. Butter beer is over 9 dollars and its just cream soda. Not worth the hour long wait for you food and having to try to find seats.
This is the only place in the park even remotely worth going to. Universal, as much as I enjoy it, is severely lacking in the food department; this is the only place that I don’t regret eating at afterward. The theming is excellent, and the menu actually offers a majority of good dishes and desserts as well as your classic butterbeer. If you’re gonna get anything to eat at USH, get the herbed chicken or the fish and chips and thank me later.
The menu isnt large, or cheap. They only had frozen butter beer, which was good but hard to drink without a straw. The food tasted great but was overall a bit dry. The corn in particular was so dry it was inedible. A little butter would have helped but there was none to be found. Pity.
Barely edible cafeteria food. For the price it is beyond disappointing. Potatoes were chewy like they were reheated in the microwave. Corn was going brown. Ice tea was good.
A really long line. Really crowded. But food are at reasonable price and taste good. Decoration is quite nice and make you feel like in the three brooms in the movie. Based on the bad reputation of english food, the food here are beyond my expectations. Lol.
Great food and setting. Everything is just perfect and the attention to detail is outstanding. Highly recommend! A great place to eat with a variety of foods that you wont find anywhere else around the park. The platter for four is a good deal if you go with family. 4 chicken pieces, 4 ribblets, 4 🌽 and 2 sides of vegetables and potatoes.
The Three Broomsticks historically has been my preferred place to eat inside Universal Studios (much better options outside in the City Walk). In general, this is one of the few restaurants inside the park where you can get a full meal (not fast food). Since I always go with my family, one of our preferred plates is The Great Feast, which provides enough fun food for the whole family. Unfortunately, they have changed the way they serve the salad, before it was a big bowl of salad with a nice dressing for everyone to share, and it was part of the cost of The Great Feast (it was considered the first course), now is charged extra ($4.99 per portion), and is not worth it, it does not have the same rich flavor but it seems like they split a small salad pack from the supermarket into 4 or 5 portions. The salad lacked flavor and texture, but the main course (chicken, ribs, potatoes, vegetables and cornwhere as good as always. Special mention to the roast potatoes which were superb in my last visit.
It’s the best food in the park! You can buy hot butter beer here and it actually tasted even better than the iced ones. The shepherd pie and toffee pudding was really amazing, we enjoyed the spacious indoor and outdoor dinning space with the castle view.
Love this place! You don’t really think about the quality of food when it’s come to fun parks but this place changed my perspectives. The portions was huge and abundant, yet so tasty & very fresh.
The roasted chicken and roasted potato side and the fish and chips were delicious (there was even Malt Vinegar). The kids finished their Mac & Cheese and Chicken Tenders. This was not your typical theme park food. It was genuine tasty, hearty, keep us going at the theme park food. I wish competing theme parks would consider having food this good. Oh and our friend had a vegetable (vegetarianplate with veggies which looked great! Thank you for a very good meal!
Got the Bangers and Mash, and a Pumpkin Fizz on the side. The meal was filling and good. The English sausage were not at all greasy. The mash potatoes were flavourful as was the thin gravy. The peas benefited from a few packages of black pepper.
We enjoyed our visit to Three Broomsticks. It was cool because it fit and blended in with the Harry Potter theme. We ordered fish and chips, shepherd’s pie (came with a fresh salad), and chocolate trifle. It was all pretty good considering it was in an amusement park. We came during a warm July day so it was a nice, cool, and relaxing spot to sit and eat.
A nice self service dining place. They sell butter-beer here. The choice of food is not a lot but good enough considering it’s located in the universal studio. The environment is great, make you feel like you are sitting in the hall of Hogwarts. The price is also reasonable. There will be lines but usually moves quickly.Plenty of sitting with outdoor seating available.
You can get hot butter beer here - tastes like toffee milk which is comforting but not much special. The fish and chips were crispy and fresh!
Kids loved eating here. Shepard pie was really good, small but good. Wife had fish and chips that was good too. Those were the two highlights for food, everything else was "meh". Kids loved the chicken tenders, yet the Butterbeer wasnt to their liking. They preferred the pumpkin juice instead. I will admit though, the frozen Butterbeer is 100 times better than the regular.
Definitely charming. Its got the usual small portions and high prices but the food is passable and suits the theme. They have a different breakfast menu as well before 11am. The butter beer is mostly just cream soda but there are other offerings. For beer, Id recommend going next door to Hogs Head and trying the Wizards Brew.
Best food and value in the park. We had the great feast, which feeds four and includes ribs, roasted chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes and roasted vegetables. All of it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
Obviously food at a theme park is going to cost more, but this restaurant offered pretty fair prices and good portions. Its right in the center of the Harry Potter area which makes it convenient.
Thought it was already overpriced, but they just significantly reduced the amount of food. The shepherds pie was already small and now the fish and chips only gives you two small pieces and a few fries that barely cover the small cheap plastic plate... Service and quality heading in the wrong direction! You can do better Universal. And you should do better as it is getting harder for people to spend their money.
Second time eating here, so I decided to try something new. The overall food quality was highly disappointing, and it was a one-way ticket to diabetes and a bland meal. The ice tea/lemonade tasted like sugar water. It seems like the ribs had not been seasoned at all. Yes, they were tender but lacked flavor. The bbq sauce was also very sweet. The potatoes also lacked seasoning and did not have the texture one would hope. The desert, again also very sweet. The corn was okay. It would be great if the food had seasoning, hot sauce was available, and if they would cut down on the sugar. It does have ample seating inside and outside on the patio. The meal cost was $33.65; I would not repurchase it.
The food was ok. Nothing to rave about. Turkey leg was a bit tough, the bangers and mash was decent, the fish and chips were also ok. Butter beer is best cold in my opinion. The prices were reasonable for being an amusement park.
There is one thing I hate the most and that’s bad and expensive food. This restaurant was that. I got the fish and chips, and it was horrendously made. The fish had a weird texture and the skin wasn’t crispy enough to be redeemable. The chips were fine, if you like flavorless pieces of wood. I don’t however, and it took copious amounts of ketchup to even be salvageable enough for me to eat. I wouldn’t recommend because it was 18 dollars for a child’s serving, and four dollars for fake apple cider. The cider I expected would be warm and tasty. This was just glorified apple juice. I don’t recommend.
I would have to say the best place to have a themed sit down for a meal. Really beautifully designed to remind you of Harry Potter. Lots of options to choose from and pretty reasonable prices! Only issue we had, the shepherds pie barely had any meat in it (was pretty much a pie of mashed potatoes). We went again the next day and the bangers and mash was much better for the same price!! Highly recommend for a meal!
This is the best restaurant in the park in my opinion. The portions are good and everything comes out fresh. The menu feels well thought-through and thematic. The interior is very accurately designed and there is a wonderful outdoor eating area where you can view the castle. I recommend the shepherd pie, and to avoid the fish and chips which is mostly just fried batter.
The ribs plate was good, a little more of the potatoes would have been worth the price... Next time would try the chicken.
You can wait in line for food or go straight to the bar for drinks. Can you guess what we did? We opted for cold Butter Beer and spirits on the side. On a hot spring day, the cool, refreshing and sweet taste goes well after spending a couple hours on your feet. Bring your drinks to the back and sit in the shade while you sip on your drinks. Sweet!
Hi universal visitorsDefinitely choose this restaurant in your journey!Fresh, delicious, gorgeous staffsHave fun
Food here is fairly decent. Probably the best option here at Universal to eat. The food is thoroughly cooked but the flavors could be better. There is plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors.
I wasn’t expecting much because- come on, it’s theme park food. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised that the food actually tasted quite good, and it was nice to have a cool place to rest while feel like you were living in your dream.
The decor is excellent and very immersive. The food is mediocre. The butter beer is just cream soda with cheese foam (like at bubble tea places). Butter beer at $9 is extremely expensive for what it is.If you have 4-6 adults, the feast is a good buy for what you get
I have been to the three broomsticks twice. Once in Orlando and once here. The food in comparison to the price, definitely not good. Cafeteria style but expensive like restaurants. Food prepared in a large scale, nothing is gourmet at all so don’t expect good food here. I ordered bangers and mash and Shepard’s pie, as you can see in the picture it’s just not appetizing frozen foods that were warmed up. Just expect it to be amusement park quality food. I liked the place only for the atmosphere and the ambiance of the Harry Potter franchise. Of course the butter beer, pumpkin juice and the butter beer ice cream are to die for! The 2 stars are lost on the food. Everything else is good! Please improve on the food!
We ordered the fish & chips, holiday turkey meal, frozen butter beer and lager beer. Lines from cashier to food pick up was quick. The table seaters, on the other hand, sucked. There was one staff member manning the line. Another staff member comes by and announced that the dining area was full and will take 10-15 mins wait for a table to free up. Some folks behind us shouted he has a party of 2 and the staff member showed him to his table right away. We shouted hey, we’ve been waiting here and also party of 2, we straight up told him and his staff sucked. He then hurriedly showed us to our table as well. Then I looked around there were 4 empty party of 2 tables. Why would you announce that we are full when you have tables available? Maybe for party of 3 and more? Please be more attentive and ask parties in line how many they have before you assume we are part of some group. There was a party of 3 in front of us, the guy never asked how many did our party have? Their incompetence ruined our moods. After we sat, we notice the spacing of tables were so close, I can reach over and touch the table next to us. Some lady ran in between the tiny aisle and knocked my arm over while I was eating. I feel like I was in a zoo. What’s the rush lady?!!Maybe they should space tables apart by 1-2 ft. We were so close to other people that we were forced to overhear peoples’ conversations. Overall I enjoyed the interior decor but we would probably sit outside next time. Food prices were well priced, $16-19. Butter beer was $8, will probably skip the next time around. It was too sweet for my palate (tasted like caramel slushyLager was $16! Not worth the price and wasn’t even that great. I will only come back again for their fish & chips. Turkey dish with their side of Brussels sprouts were heavily salted, luckily there were carrots and cranberry sauce to offset the saltiness.
Excellent quick serve theme park food. Try the English holiday dinner roasted turkey sourdough stuffing ginger glazed carrots brussel sprouts bacon wrapped sausage turkey gravy cranberry sauce for $15.99. enough for two!
Three Broomsticks in Universal Studio Orlando.Harry Potter themed restaurant.Visiting from NYC.The good:- Authentic Harry Potter, old world British Pub.- HP sauce. The not so good:- the food is very standard, microwaved frozen food.Overall the theme and experience of the Harry Potter world is the reason to eat here. The food is very cafeteria quality, but understandable, since this is an amusement park restaurant. For Harry Potter fans, eating here is a must, not for the cuisine, but for the overall HP experience.
This food is AMAZING! We got the rib plate to share, and it was the perfect amount of food for both of us. Ribs are very meaty and seasoned well, potatoes are delicious, and you can tell the corn is very fresh! The butter beer is so fun, we liked the "frozen" version the most. Plus youre eating in what looks exactly like Harry Potter!! It was SO much fun, and I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was!
Great food and great service. Atmospheric story-telling is truly magical here. Gives off a charming tavern-like vibe. Definitely worth the visit.
It was like stepping through an imagination gateway and straight into the books. Give or take a thing or two. A wonderful experience and delicious meals. We had lunch one day and breakfast the next, because, well, we really wanted to try that Traditional English Breakfast! They clean the tables after each guest with fresh wipes from a container and everyone is very friendly and the service is quick and accommodating. You really are transported into Hogsmead and I cant wait until our next visit!
The fish and chips were spot on it’s not cod thank god but it was a great. Also ordered the garlic herb chicken. Which was great except the fact The corn was a dissapointment as others mentioned we had ours dry as a bone but if we paying 16.99 you best bet i still ate it. The bread pudding let me say this it’s not what I expected thing was so hard I felt like the plastic spoon was going to boomerang and smack me in the face. I was like the hell, we paid for bread pudding not actual bread but I’m pretty sure it’s good when it’s cooked right. So if you are coming here def get the chicken and ask for the corn to be soft and as well as the fish and chips making my stomach grumble. The interior is alright, our table had a cherry stem and some pieces of food where it clearly states to make sure you leave your mask on but other then that customer service was great
Counter order and pick up food at window. I had 3 plates, and 2 drinks, and no trays were available so I had to be creative to carry while my wife and son.Bangers and mash were tasty, my boy had chicken fingers and fries and my wife enjoyed her chicken salad. The frozen butter been was sweet and creamy blended perfectly. The hit apple pie topped it all off and now we need a nap.
For what its worth, Comcast Universal made an attempt to adjust to the COVID crisis with their limited opening of their theme park, emphasizing on shops and food and using a ticket system for food (5 tickets for Adults, 3 for kids). The food, however, is also limited to select items. The shepherds pie was decent in flavor but the ground beef was hard in some chunks. I wouldnt recommend using a ticket for this particular item unless you enjoy mashed potatoes and gravy...that was the star of this dish. If you get Butter Beer, add butterscotch schnapps to it for a kick. The rating is for the food establishment for keeping the area clean and positive customer service.
We were so excited the second we came in here, they made the decorations and atmosphere to be almost exactly like in the movies. It’s a must to dine in here or at least have a Butterbeer.Food wise, though, not great. We order the food IKEA cafeteria style, very few selections of main course, small portions, and expensive. The taste is just okay, too.A small Shepherd’s Pie costs $13, regular Fish & Chips costs $15. The best out of three is probably the Beef, Lamb & Guinness Stew for $14.
Had the ribs...lots of sauce and tender, but the sauce was so-so in flavor. The cheese toasty platter was a good sandwich...not amazing. Overall, the novelty and atmosphere far outdid the food.Butter beer and pumpkin fizz always a hit!
The food came out fast and all but I was a little disappointed with their menu. I was hoping they would have a more mysterious and Harry Potter-themed dishes instead of just a typical British/American platter. I must admit the food still tasted good but the portion were small and it’s not cheap, either.
I ordered the enormous grilled chicken salad which was nicely presentable with the arrangement of the cucumbers and grapes. My wife ordered the herb chicken dinner, but she found it disappointing with the undercooked corn on the cob. The Harry Potter environment is awesome inside with sounds of a wild boar stuffed behind the bar.
We were in LA celebrating our son’s 13th birthday which of course included a visit to universal. Usually, we chalk theme park food up as being over priced and not that great. I saw the positive reviews for this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We had the fish and chips, roast chicken platter, apple pie and of course frozen butterbeer. Everything tasted wonderful
Nice selection of British foods and movie themed beverages, great place to get away from the heat for a while. Came here for lunch and was able to get food and get seated without any wait. Im glad they let waiters bring guests to the tables instead of having guests fight it out for themselves. The food was tasty enough for amusement park food and I appreciate that they had kids meals available too. It was nice being able to get butterbeer without having to wait in line outside.
Very spacious and very tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Definitely the best quality food in comparison to the other theme park options. When we visited, 2 adults, 1 teenager and one toddler, we were able to share two of the herb chicken plates comfortably! Breakfast includes a drink like coffee. You order and pay as soon as you walk in. Food is ready pretty quickly and then you decide where to sit. High chairs available.
