Riverside inn with original Delft tiles, oak panels and fireplaces, serving a menu of pub classics.
Service was fantastic! Waitress was friendly, polite, helpful. Suggesting food options as they had sold out of the mains dish my friend wanted & also the desert we wanted. Nothing was going to spoil my day! Restaurant in a beautiful setting by the Thames, would love to go again when Im in the area.Food was delicious.
Nice environment, but the food is not that good...Big parking place.
Visited the Thames Court on 11th September for a birthday meal, there were eight of us. When the meals arrived the the food was cold, two of our party sent their roasts back, and all the chips were cold. Will no be going there again anytime soon
Amazing spot to have a dinning experience, enjoyed the food and great service by a lovely waitress!! Only thing that took away a start was, on arrival we asked to be seated near the window as there were 3 tables free and we had made advance booking but the woman at the booking area said those were reserved and seated us more towards the bar which was not that great. We were there for nearly 2 hours and saw just one of those 3 tables near the windows get occupied. Otherwise the food and location is great.
The service from our waitress was excellent, but unfortunately, we were served broccoli from the kitchens that was yellowing and covered in aphids. It has very clearly not been washed and was going off. Absolutely terrible.
Our second visit in 2 months. Good food although the menu doesnt always reflect what is on the plate. Staff are helpful. The pub is huge so sometimes the queue is long. Nice riverside setting.
Chicken pie was very nice. As was the sticky toffee.BUT chips were cold , sandwich was minute. Waiter kept trying to pass food across people and neither me very of staff were interested when we mentioned our food concerns.
Luxurious. Beutiful location. Large outdoor seating area. Close to boat moorings. Delicious food, good comprehensive bar. Comfortable seats. Everything is Super clean. Fantastic and friendly staff. I think this place is fantastic. 😍🤩🥳. But dont tell anyone or itll get too crowded. 🤣
The staff are very friendly and very efficient even when they were fully booked. The food is absolutely amazing and I highly recommended going here and look forward to returning.
The location and views are amazing, right next to the river on a summers day. Go for a drink as food was rubbish. We went for Sunday roast and it turned up almost cold and mostly burnt like it had been sat in the oven all day.
Lovely spot, on a great day beautiful to sit outside and see River Thames.Sunday lunch as equidistant between Herts / Sussex.Staff service was a bit hit and miss depending on who served you/you spoke to. Despite having answered the question about allergies the starter came out different to that advised so it had to go back to be re-done : waiting staff helpful but their quip, whilst we found jokey, subsequently demonstrated their ineffectiveness for another 2 requests - we ended up asking other staff, who did it immediately/timely.Three meals - fish, Sunday roast (turkeyand plant based. All OK. Disappointed the side salad (in lieu of chips AND burger identical (lettuce onion tomato - cucumber on saladso didnt eat salad! Raw onions too many!.Reasonable prices. Orderly at bar and staff friendly.
The location of the pub is fantastic right by the water, but sadly the rest of our experience today was not good. We ordered a burger and a sandwich, which took over 55 minutes to arrive. There was no mention when ordering that the wait would be this long, and no apology from the waiter when it did finally arrive. When the food came, they had forgotten to remove the onion from the burger as requested and forgot to bring the chips to come with the burger. This was rectified by the waiter quickly but after such a long wait we weren’t best pleased. The burger was good but the fish finger sandwich was average - the fish was mostly batter and felt very oily.To the pub: if you know you are very busy, please tell your guests that there will be a long wait before they order. If we’d known it would be an hours wait we would have gone elsewhere as we were in a hurry. Also if your customers have been waiting for nearly an hour for their food, at least apologise for the long wait when it does finally arrive. We won’t be returning.
Location excellent, Staff were very friendly and helpful , Was with large group and unfortunately food was poor, my hot brisket sandwich on sourdough which was toasted and possibly reheated as it was beyond crisp, my wifes was even worse . Person who arranged was a frequent customer and was embarrassed to have suggested meeting there. Would not eat there again but nice riverside pub for a drink
Massive shame, beautiful location, probably a one off experience but was informed to order from app or at the bar. Ordered on the app at 15.13pm and at 15.40 I headed inside to chase drinks, nobody is as aware of the order, so they manually looked it up and printed a receipt to pick the order from. We had already eaten our food which came prior but the catering staffs answer about drinks was We dont deal with drinks, just food. There was another issue with other customers which the venue responded about so Ive removed that part of the review.
I guess after an extremely busy Sunday lunchtime, things are likely to be a little less first class but we went at 19.30 on Sunday 31st July and food was pretty disgusting . The vegetables were revolting, broccoli I would have thrown out as it was going yellow. Roast potatoes black and soggy, parsnip and carrot shrivelled to death. Actually the meat was very edible, but that was all.My daughter was paying for this and I will not let her know how lousy it was. I have had better food in other Vintage Inns but I doubt I will ever use any of them again
Very good if you are in a group, you can easily pay for just what you want on the App without leaving the table or arguing about who had what when the bill arrives. Definitely not for anyone on a budget, both food and drink are quite expensive for what you get.
It has a very nice patio area and view of the river. The staff are friendly and cheerful.Unfortunately the food took ages to arrive, about an hour. the two full breakfasts had obviously been left to stand and reheated because the hash browns and toast were rock hard and the fried egg was solid. One of my guests thought his portion was minimal and I had to agree. The vegan breskfast was served with a poached egg. I believe the manager made a refund for that and the requested jug off water was never delivered. I had to mend the umbrella which Fell to bits while were sitting thereOverall it was a very poor performance and I had to apologise to my guests. I also heard people on another table talking about how poor it was.
Fantastic view, great vibe, brilliant service and great food … what more could you want? But yeah … don’t all go at once … I still want a free table! Hannah was fantastic. There honestly is no need to go anywhere else when there is such a gem locally. Cannot rate the place, food and service more highly … sometimes you just stumble across somewhere that blows all expectations … and this is one. Amazing work to the team!
Just got treated to a meal here from my partners parents and it was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes are absolutely fantastic! The food is just wonderful and the staff are super helpful and very welcoming!!!!!
Nice pub by the river with lots of outside seating. Unfortunately the Sunday rush caused a problem with our food. Two out of four meals were delivered and that was it! We waited and waited and finally went to the bar to ask about our food. Something had gone wrong in the kitchen! An hour later we still waited for our burgers we finally made contact with the manager who was very apologetic, he explained the issues with staff, got the burgers out to us and took their cost off the bill. A good recovery! We will go again.
nice pub on the river...had Sunday lunch ...roast beef, Turkey, and sea bass...good service by our waitress, hannah...very polite and helpful..nice food n good choice of desserts ....reasonable price...recommended.....
Great atmosphere lovely staff and great food. Hanna was our waiter, very friendly and bubbling. Will definitely come again, William from hillingdon Middlesex.
Staff are rude and unapologetic. Food came with a hair in and meat was full of gristle.Ordered drinks that took over half an hour to arrive because of an “app glitch”We ordered a main and desert but the desert was served first?? Really disappointed for a birthday meal out with 7 people. Wont be returning.
I went here with some family on Saturday 2nd July 4 adults and 2 children. We chose from the lunch menu. I had the pear and blue cheese pizza it was gorgeous. There was a lot of choice on the menu and the kids had pizza too which they love. I had the brownie for dessert. The waitress was very friendly and great with boys too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back
Beautiful pub, near the river.sadly food was served cold. We returned the chips, as told it would take a few minute to get hot ones, but had to wait so long that we had finished our main meal before the fresh chips arrived
Good quality food. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Very forgiving people (if you give them a review that was ment for someone else).😁
This place refused our request to book a table on a Saturday for 13 people saying they dont take booking s at all on the weekend and only in the week for only 8 at a time. They dont have a specific set up for people with gluten allergies. The food we had this lunchtime was limited due to the allergy problem but very nice all the same.
The food was back to its good standard from pre-Covid times. The service was excellent. The location great. Very pleased.Only negative. When asked could I have my meat medium to well done, the response was “it’s only one way, as it comes”. It is not much extra effort to meet a request like that.
I have been coming here for years. I used to live in Walton but now live in Devon. Every time I come home for a family get together we always book to come here. It was a great favourite with both my parents. Food very good and good value. Service attentive but not intrusive. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant and outside. Great in the summer with a view over the river.
Truly one of my most favourite English pubs this visit to England. The menu is great, the setting is superb, the pub outside and inside very well appointed. What a delight. The food was fantastic, and the service impeccable. Our waitress, Abbey, was on point, had a cracker great sense of humour and impeccable service engagement approach. We had just collected my mum from Heathrow and had brilliant news to celebrate, best place to have had our dinner!
As much as the food looked and tasted nice the service was terrible we asked for the starters to come out with the mains as someone was eating them as a main course. The starters was delicious, loved the garlic bread but as we’re eating the starters the wrong mains come out twice! An hour and a half later our mains finally came out stone cold. As soon as we complained the lady behind the till just shrugged her shoulders and said have a nice day… all day the wrong orders kept on going to the wrong tables, teach your staff the table numbers! very disappointed, won’t be coming back anytime soon
We were a group of four sitting outside. It was a lovely hot day and the atmosphere was great. We were served by Hannah, she was exceptional. Very professional, welcoming and she had personality. She made the day even better.
It wasnt obvious where we should have waited to be seated, so we hovered near the bar and several minutes elapsed before a member of staff realised we were waiting, welcomed us, and showed us to our pre-booked table. The tables in the dining area were nicely spaced, and the room was light and airy. Our drinks quickly appeared whilst we studied the wide choice of meals in the menu. We werent particularly attracted to any of the starters so both ordered main courses of gammon steaks which arrived within an appropriate time. The steaks, fried eggs, and chips, were all cooked to perfection. My brothers "small" dessert of Eton mess was actually very generous, but I felt my baked cheesecake portion was rather small (though delicious); the cappuccino, supplied as part of my brothers dessert, arrived sprinkled with chocolate which was a bit disappointing as he had declined when asked if he wanted chocolate on it, but he drank it anyway. There was a considerable wait before we could attract anyones attention to get the bill. Despite the minor observations, we were very pleased with our visit.
Lovely riverside pub. Bit of confusion over our booked table but we found one outside anyway. Sea bass and cheese and ham sandwich were great but country chicken sandwich a disappointment. Overall great service at an extremely busy lunchtime. Will visit again. 👍
Paid £40 for 3 drinks and 2 meals. The food was a signature burger and vegetarian burger. Both buns not soft but were partially stale or over cooked, the onion rings had hardly any batter on and the chips were obviously reheated after being previously cooked and most were rock hard. The was nothing signature about it at all. The reason I am being critical is because I have just come back from Zakynthos where better meals are served on the beach, they were amazing and put the Thames Court food to shame.I certainly wont be eating there again if they are serving this rubbish for the prices they charge.
Lovely pub in a great location by the river.Lovely food here , I had the pear and blue cheese pizza. It was absolutely lovely. It’s a lovely spacious pub and seating indoor and outdoor. Beautiful views and relaxing atmosphere. There is loads of choice on the menu and when you are sitting outside you can order from your phone.
Our waitress was friendly.Hannah was her name.Nice ambience to the place.
Ive been to Thames Court quite a few times. Christmas Dinner, Sunday lunch, mothers day and of course the occasional sunny day as the outlook over the river here is pretty much perfect. Especially on a sunny afternoon. The food is always very nice. My experiences vary but there is always a long wait so I wouldnt come here if you have somewhere else to be however it is always worth the hangryness you may succumb in-between! They do have a lot of tables and a large carpark so although its usually busy when I go, Ive never had a problem getting a table or a space for the car. Service is good and the staff clearly work very hard. They do serve Curious brew which is a favorite of mine and a bit harder to find than other drinks so definitely give that a try if you do go here. Its one of those nice places you would take your mum too.
You’d be forgiven for thinking this place is some kind of posh, highly priced restaurant/bar on the waterfront. It’s actually just a nice pub that happens to be in a nice spot. Prices are perfectly reasonable and in-line with the food.I’ve been here a number of times over the last few years, the service has always been good, the manager is always whizzing around trying to please everyone.Only couple of negatives and one is on previous occasions I haven’t been able to order my first choice of dish from the menu, and one occasion had to go with my third choice! But I guess if they’re busy and run out then not much they can do.Also, when we were here recently I was stood at the end of the bar waiting to order when two waitresses were squabbling over taking food over to a customer, both refusing to do it…. Not ideal.Car park is ample.Great location, can get busy so pick your timing. We recently had burgers…. Very, very nice… come highly recommend.
Nice location but far from perfect.Sandwiches are very small and over priced.Waiter left our sandwiches and went off without asking if we wanted anything (like salt, ketchup, napkins, cutlery, etc). They werent even that busy, so I cant think of an excuse except poor training. Will not be returning.
We booked a table for a family event over the weekend. The experience was superb, lovely food, nice and friendly staff, great host from Hannah. Highly recommended! The location of the pub is absolutely stunning.
Location is excellent - perfect for a stop along the Thames path, and offering a great view of the river and weir - standard slightly gastropub ambience, drinks are ok but they seem to have a problem with cocktails (possibly licensing?despite the well-stocked bar - to be clear, do not go and expect any sort of cocktail beyond a G&T. Food is decent and reasonable value.
Been to this pub before and absolutely stunning views/location right next to the river.Friendly staff, good selection of beers/drinks and the food, even though limited on veggie/vegan options, is really delicious. On this occasion, I tried the spicy pepperoni pizza & triple cooked chips and loved every bit of it.Highly recommended pub and will definitely visit again.
Stumbled across Thames Court whilst exploring the riverside. Excellent beer choice and decent lunches. Spectacular views across the river. Top recommendation for this area.
After saving enough to treat ourselves to a meal out, my son, daughter and I went here on Saturday afternoon for her birthday.Having been previously a number of years ago we were really looking forward to it.However, the meals available were not as advertised on the website. There was little to choose from and what were available were very small and sadly, substandard. The “8oz” sirloin steak was awful as was the gammon steak which was undercooked The “side salad” looked days old and I advised my daughter not to eat it..I spent yesterday in bed unwell, nauseous and unable to eat.I don’t like to complain but considering it all cost £148, I expected so much better. So disappointed.I have emailed Thames Court and awaiting a reply.
Location/view are superb. Our lunch sandwiches were very disappointing, as were the childrens sausages. Beer (Session IPAwas very good and the kids ice cream and chocolate brownies were wolfed down.No salt and pepper on the tables (it was needed for the meal!); Vegetable sticks ordered for the child meal looked as if they had been plated up at least a day before, so too the mash potato for the other kids meal. The brisket sandwich was bland, dry and presented on over-toasted bread.Looking at other food on offer the next time I visit, if we do, I will try the pizza as those did look appetising.
The views from this pub are unreal. A gem of a place and always love coming here for a couple of pints in the sun. We ordered food and that was tasty as well. Will definitely return.
Went for a roast dinner at 1pm on a Sunday. Great service, our waitress Sarah was fantastic, really friendly and helpful a complete credit to the restaurant. The roast Turkey was delicious although probably could have done with being a tiny bit hotter. Sadly the cauliflower cheese wasnt worth the money or effort, no real cheese sauce to speak of and very watery.
We had a lovely festive meal with some friends and thought our food was delicious, especially the steaks.Cooked pink, full of flavour, the gravy that came with it was divine.Kids also loved their meals, they had seabass with chips instead of potatoes. The pub itself is cosy and this was the 4th time I ate there, each time the food was beautiful and the service friendly.
First time at The Thames Court and I am happy to say it was superb. This is a very large pub work ample outdoor seating as well. A friendly welcome followed up by absolutely superb service from Hannah. Food was excellent and priced very fairly. We will be returning!
