The Terrace Cafe Bar & Bistro - Bistro in Bradford, United Kingdom
What’s happened? Used to love the Terrace. Bits of food left on tables from previous customers, asked to wipe down but forgot. Starters were limited and weren’t great. 2 out of 4 orders came wrong for the main. The kebab was cold when arrived, we upgraded to a better steak and it wasn’t good at all and slightly warm if warm at all… as we were upstairs we had to go get a waitress to order more drinks. White wine was room temp… no ice in the cooler just the bottle? We passed on the desserts as we were not impressed at all. Unfortunately that will be the last time we eat there now. Shame as we used to love it. What’s gone wrong?
Enjoyed 2 lovely brunches here and also and evening meal.
Disappointed with poor service. Sat outside and never told the system was to order inside. Only had toast and had to ask for the preserves
Very nice if wanting a baguette steak and your appietes not big do as a share was gorgeous but too much for me. The Victoria sponge fab.
Never been to Bradford before, was playing against Yorkshire CC on thevSunday found this lovely little boutique place to eat, great food.. Nothing too much trouble.. Luv dat!
Love this place, the food is amazing!
Excellent cafe, good choice of food and value for money.
Called in on a whim to celebrate our daughters birthday. Great food, friendly, attentive service and a lovely, if slightly quirky atmosphere. Do they make kebabs on the fencing swords? Who can say!
Great breakfast and very accomodating of vegans as well. Happy to alter the vegetarian breakfast and add new additions like tofu and spinach.
Lovely place. Plenty of seating. Food was decent. Would come back.
Amazing food and service. The perfect place to enjoy a nice meal and some lovely cocktails!
Vegetarian burger was discusting needs taking off the menu, the patty is mushed up veg and tastes like baby food and spinach made the whole burger wet and soggy! Absolutely vile! This should not be served!! only option for a vegetarian burger! The staff did not ask how our meal was even though it was not eaten so we paid and left unhappy
Great food and service, from the phone order to collection. Would love to dine in but dont think dogs are allowed. 10/10.
Nice setting, food was good although the scallops are not king scallops as on the menu. Friendly staff
Very good Food. The Arancini and Italian Burger are delicious. Very welcoming staff.Tad expensive for what it is as Ive had very similar for cheaper however it is worth a visit.I wouldnt revisit until the prices come down a little.
Very cozy and authentic French style cafe/bistro always a good atmosphere. The owner is a very friendly French man who makes you feel welcome and service is excellent.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere and the staff are helpful and friendly.
The previously amazing takeaway burgers have significantly fallen in quality; dining in is still a delight, but the chicken burger we received was made with sandwich style chicken meat and the other burgers were of significant lower quality to what they had been during lockdown.
My new favourite place to eat. Fantastic food & friendly service
Sorry but this is fair, not just based on latest visit. 11:30am booking (so initially quiet& yet again, just not listened to re Vegan diet. The homemade veg burger was 1 very thin miserable, tasteless patty- Id wager not homemade at all (I was looking forward to a tasty homemade one, dont usually order burgers when Im dining out, but the description in the menu sold it to me). DISAPPOINTED doesnt cover it , uncannily like the very much cheaper versions available in Asda / Morrisons/ Iceland etc. At £13 & only 1 patty on the plate - mean. Id asked for wedges rather than fries - again v confusing as my plate had literally a small handful of fries- then we recd a bowl of wedges (?). The side salad (which Id normally devour with my mealcame with a milky looking slick of dressing - over every salad item. No explanation as to what is was so I left it as I guessed probs not vegan. Id asked for another drink once all meals were served. Id finished my meal & by now was gasping so went downstairs to ask again... Still nothing 10 mins later. The waitress appeared upstairs attending to another table & I was forced to ask a 3rd time. No one had come to check on us / meals etc during dining. Wont be going back. Had high hopes - shame.
We went around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon but didnt make a reservation. We still got a nice table for two upstairs and ordered lunch (they also have an all-day breakfast menu too). Weve been there a few times now and the food and service are always great. The place is always bustling, which is also a good sign. Im not a big burger fan but the French(?burger I got was divine and has changed my mind about ordering a burger when Im out! Reasonably priced compared with other cafés of this type in the area. An all-round lovely place.
Just called in with family for coffee and toast, very nice. Would love to visit on an evening as reading the menu and seeing some of the food being served it looks amazing.
Lovely food and atmosphere and great service. Had both takeaways and eaten in the restaurant and both have been great.Highly recommended
Just had a delivery via Deliveroo, and its quite possibly the worst burger Ive ever tried. Theyre charging GBK/Byron burger prices for something that is worse than a McCheeseburger. They also package the chips in burger boxes but not the actual burger itself (wheres the logic in that?). The burger itself was wrapped in foil, and was squashed + soggy when delivered. Give this place a miss for takeaway burgers.
Very very disappointed. My partners panini and nachos came out cold . I went for the gluten free healthy salmon salad which was plain bland and had absolutely no flavour . It was watery and sickening, couldn’t finish it . They couldn’t even serve my coffee with out spilling it . Not impressed
Called in this evening with my wife. I had the Fish soup starter and lamb kebabs which were delicious My wife had French onion soup and butternut and wild mushroom risotto which was also very tasty. Lovely attentive staff and cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Yorkshire.
Very friendly helpful staff and good food at sensible prices. Ill happily return if Im in the area.
Great food, excellent service, friendly staff. Dishes quite substantial. Recommended.
visited for a Saturday evening meal, all I can say is both the owner and the chefs should be very proud of themselves. the atmosphere is relaxed. and definitely something different and the food is incredible
Eat here a week last Friday evening and had a lovely meal for the money. First time since lockdown and still the same relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff and tasty food.
Had eggs benidict for brunch.Partners eggs were overdone and sauce had split.
Expensive and staff pushing for additional orders. Not very organized we were asked to pay additional money for no good reason and had to show our receipt. May visit again for a glass of wine 🍷
A decent little French style bistro in Saltaire. The inside is cosy and welcoming and the staff were really nice. The menu is quite diverse, with lots of classic French or French-influenced dishes. Randomly also a lot of burgers (although the Mexican one was delicious I was told).I had the French onion soup which was really authentic. We also shared a baked Camembert (always a good idea). The confit duck was ok, a bit dry and the whole dish was a bit underwhelming. The slow cooked beef was really nice and had a good depth. The cured pork belly with star anise was really nicely cooked.
We met with friends for the first time since lockdown. You had to book and they were very accommodating, they have outside seating too. The food was fantastic and plentiful.NB. There is no downstairs toilet for disabled people.
Exceptional restaurant. Came as visitors to the area and were made to feel so welcome. Staff were attentive, friendly and hard working. The food selection had something for everyone and was at a superbly high standard. Can absolutely recommend this place for the quality of food and the warmth of the staff. Thank you!
We called in for a mid morning coffee and a sandwich and were very impressed with both the decor and the refreshments. The decor is rustic French and helps create an easy going convivial atmosphere. The food was fine; my wife had a breakfast sandwich served in a brioche bun. She says that the sausage, in particular, was excellent. The coffees too were good. The price was good too - I even queried the bill when I went to pay as I thought I had been undercharged.
Fantastic food and staff, booked for 7pm on a Friday night, for two and had the table all evening. The french style fish soup starter was delicious, that would have done me as the portion was v generous, but had to find room for the v tasty lamb and potatoes too. Highly recommend.
Absolutely brilliant!Went in today to pick up an UberEats order and the staff work so efficiently around eachother. Making sure everyone is sat distanced and keeping themselves and the customers generally safe and Covid safe.Talking to eachother well to make sure everyone is sat at the right table and all happy and comfortable.Definitely recommend coming here if ever in Saltaire.
We had pre-booked a table for three outside. On arrival at correct time there was no available table outside so we had to sit inside on a beautiful sunny day. Breakfasts were ordered, they arrived on very cold plates, the sausages were cold, baked beans were luke warmObviously the plates of food were just thrown together. We were extremely disappointed and will in future take our custom else where in Saltaire
Good food and service with French Country Decor. Does brilliant Full English breakfasts also. Has some tables outside. Also own Tallulahs Wine Bar next door.
Stopped by for lunch recently and was very impressed with this Bistro. Great food, excellent service and very reasonable prices for the quality provided. Will definitely be giving this place a few more visits - highly recommended.
Ordered from here twice, food is ready for collection so quick and is absolutely delicious. Had a different burger each time and cant wait to try them all! Great onion rings and seasoned chips too. Definitely recommend!
Just ordered delivery through Uber Eats. Ordered a burger and a nicoise salad with poached eggs so we were a bit apprehensive if it would arrive in an edible state!! Ordered and delivered within an hour. Still warm. Poached eggs were beautiful. Best take away Ive ever had. Good work guys !!!!
Very friendly and efficient staff. Food is amazing. Excellent selection on menu and specials board. Picture of Persian lamb with yoghurt, pitta bread and fries. Wasnt a thing left on my plate. Yum yum.
Tasty food, large portions and does feel like a touch of France.
One of my absolute favourite place to eat out, especially breakfast. Been going here for years now with its friendly staff and very affordable delicious freshly cooked menu. If you are ever in the area you wont be disappointed.
Ordered takeaway burgers for collection yesterday. Absolutely perfect. Real chips aswell. And the blue cheese steak sauce was amazing, I might go back for that even when cooking steak at home! Food was also freshly cooked ready for when we collected so was still piping hot when we got home. Highly recommend - we will be ordering again for sure
Vegetarian breakfast was delicious, piping hot and yummy. Partner also enjoyed his full English.Staff efficient and friendly. Didnt have any cakes today but looked gorgeous. Will definitely be returning and would recommend.
Great little cafe for a bite to eat at lunch. The sandwiches are fresh and taste great. The coffee is really nice too. Well worth a visit
Great french food as well as some other flavours from around the world. Perfect decor and atmosphere, fools me into thinking im in Paris. Good service. Some dishes slightly overpriced (18.50 for lamb and an extra 2.50 for the sauce, which i thought was a bit much). However good sized portions, although a bit clumsy/ unsophisticated presentation (perhaps too many chips, and thats coming from a chip lover!Would recommend the french onion soup and frogs legs and creme brulee! Great restaurant.
