Classic, iconic public house serving beer, wine & cocktails in a 3-floor setting.
I went to this pub after I did the Ripper tour. They serve a great gin and tonic.
Absolutely loved this place. brilliant service and and overall a fantastic pub. Loved the history and the vibe and would 100% go back.
Great place to stop in for a Drink!! Cheers!!
Came here from a Jack the Ripper tour after being told this pub has remained functional since and was sadly one of the places one of his victims drank at.Beyond that its got true character with a pub on the ground floor and a cocktail bar on the upper floor. Ill definitely be back!
It was good but quite noisy, beer was great
Had a Christmas party here and was a fantastic place. The 4 floors made it fun to be up and down with different atmosphere on each floor.A great pub that is usually busy as its a great London boozer for after work drinks.
Very nice London Pub, good drinks 🍸 👌 Jack the rippers local haunt 👻
Nice place. The stairs to the toilets are "fun", especially if youve had a few.
Youthful atmosphere in a place heavy with historical atmosphere. Should be on everyones bucket list!
Had a great time. Good music and a fun experience going down the old wooden stairs to the bathroom felt like I was back in the late 1800. Price of drinks wasnt bad for London either
Amazing pub full of history. DJs play some of the best music and they now have Beavertown on the bar, what more could you ask for 💚
Absolutely a Shoreditch classic - seems to be better every time I go back. Tons of beers and friendly staff - great atmosphere
Personable and professional staff, enthusiastic and knowledgeable in their field and the history of this fantastic venue. Very well worth a visit 😊
Really nice pub, looks out onto Spitalfields Market, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff
Vibrant pub with friendly staff, exciting atmosphere and near a beautiful church. The decoration is great and there are several paintings of the corner in Commercial Street where the Ten Bells is located. The music mix is great to the extent that the barman was praised for his DJ functions by a merry customer.
Full of history. It’s preserved very well. Good prices too.
Historic London pub great size & central bar layout, great beer selection with street standing oppositeOld Spitalfields Market.Excellent vintage architectural features.
Great old school pub vibes with a decent selection of ciders and beers. Note there’s no grub but they do have a selection of crisps and nuts to go with your drink.
Had a good evening in the 10 bells. Efficient staff, warm welcome and generally the people drinking there were chatty and friendly. I guess its just slightly more expensive than other pubs but thats expected due to the Jack the ripper connections. I would happily go back to this sociable well run place
Nice pub with cheerful and nice staff. Good assortment of beer. A bit worn down but maybe that only is good for the atmosphere.
After a meal in Brick Lane we finished off the evening with a couple of drinks in this East End pub. Friendly staff, large selection of ales and in a great location opposite Spitalfields Market.
Iconic pub in London close to Whitechapel. Beautiful inside out with a great selection of beer. Shame that they do not have any alcohol free beers.
Good Beers and Atmosphere20220620
Busy east London boozer, standing room only on a say. Ice place but not the best pint,go for the atmosphere it the beer.( Beer was ok just not the best).
Quality east end boozer where the workers spill onto the pavement of an evening. Great selection of Beers served amiably by the staff and the perfect spot for a sundowner. Pull up a rustic bar stool and plant your elbows on the copper table tops for a proper chin wag me ol’ fruit.
Good pub, well located nice beer and a welcoming staff...ticks all the boxes
Always amazing - been coming here since 2003, though the crowd has changed!!!
Nice historic pub with excellent beer and cider on tap.
It has great atmosphere if you like Victorian pubs. The service is good but unless you come with a group of friends its basically have a pint and go.
This is a great pub/bar. Historic and well loved. I had a magical night here in the winter of 2010 during which I met new friends and fell in love with the area.
Posted a 4 by accident. Great atmosphere, decor, location and service visiting on a bank holiday Sunday night after a Brick Lane curry. Great selection of craft beers and cider. 5 out of 5.
Its such a shame when a nice historical pub is ruined by a power hungry small minded Bouncer that was not just rude, but also racist. He wouldnt let my Muslim friend get inside and when the hole party of 15 left because of that, he started asking for forgiveness. That is not how the world works my friend. The pub itself deserves a 5 star
Awesome place. We come here every week for the pub quiz! 7:30pm every Tuesday. £2 entry! Sometimes it’s very busy so best to book a table if you want to come to the quiz
A little disappointed as it is a one room pub and expensive given the connection to Jack the Ripper which attracts people. All upstairs closed when we visited, if youre not in the area then dont bother.
Good beers on tap but lack of spirts.Nice staff. Close to spitalfields market for any shopping. Old fashion decor that gives plenty of character. History involving Jack the ripper. Has three floors and outside area for drinking. Toilets are a bit treacherous, beware.
Nice historical pub with friendly staff and a good selection of beers but not many spirits to choose from. Was a shame when we went that upstairs was closed
Great historical pub with traditional interior ,used to be called "the Jack the Ripper". Good value for price, friendly bar staff, definitely worth a visit.
Historical pub in Spitafields which retains its Victorian interior, full of history and overlooked by Spitafields Church. Steeped in Jack the Ripper history.
Great pub. Excellent location and a very pleasant atmosphere. Its nice and compact inside but the large windows makes it feel bigger. There is a great selection of drinks and several interesting beers on draft. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return
Old and historic!! Great atmosphere! Its changed A LOT in 10 years. Lost a lot of the "old world" charm but still worth it. VERY crowded and hard to find a seat.
Lively corner pub next to Old Spitalfields Market. Fair selection of beers but only three cask ales. Good place for a pint though! Many visits later and still love the place, just a great place for a pint and a chat. Staff are welcoming and enthusiastic, a great team! An extra star for opening up after the great plague!
Cute pub with traditional interior just outside of the covered area of spitalfields market. The upstairs cocktail bar is worth a visit! fast service & theyll make you an espresso martini even though its not on the main menu. But if your doing cocktails do expect London prices £9 a glass.
You will never be disappointed by visiting this old pub. Always buzz of local people. Londoner and tourist. Lot of rush always better go on first floor to get a seat. Located at 84 Commercial Street (at one time known as 33 Church Street). Difficult to get parking and very few seat for sitting so outside drinking is popular in this bar.
Great wee pub to pop in. We went for the history and connection to the Ripper victims. But its such a wonderful space. The tiles are gorgeous and the effort to maintain the look of the pub I think is something so worthwhile doing.Theres not much seating but the place is small. There is room upstairs but it wasnt open when we visited. The toilets are downstairs with no easy accessible option that I could see.The pints are pricey, 2 cost us £12.They offer sharing boards with 3 options and that seems all there is for food, but its a nice choice if you were going to stay for a few rounds.Very glad we popped in.
Historic pub in Spittlefields, next to Christ Church; the home of the bells after which the pub is named. Also a less nice connection with two of Jack the Ripper’s victims. The pub has floor to ceiling tiled walls with dark wood surrounds and a small area of the pavement for fair weather drinking. Very popular with after work drinkers. Definitely worth a visit.
Myself and my work team came to the Ten bells for their weekly pub quiz which is every Tuesday. Would definitely recommend booking in advance as it is in quite a small room and the tables all get booked up.The quiz itself was excellent. Drinks were usual London prices. Great atmosphere and the pub has a lot of character and history. Will be returning!
Great historical pub. Can be busy after the work day, but so cool. This pub is right in the area where the 1880 ripper murders happened.some even suggest the ripper may have taken a pint in the pub. Also to note this place has not changed much since.
The Ten Bells is a fairly standard British style pub opposite Spitalfields Market. Always a good sign, The Ten Bells is pretty much always busy. Theres limited space inside and near impossible to get a seat downstairs, but usually theres some space upstairs. The customers tend to stand outside, in all seasons, even during winter. The atmosphere is usually good, lively in a everyone having a good time sort of way.
Popped in for a drink here. Busy and noisy downstairs but chill and quiet upstairs. We went upstairs for the gin cocktails, they are mostly the same with grapefruit and rosemary but they were very nice and served by nice staff. Love the decor and the feel of the place and will definitely be back for more. In a popular area with a lot of choice this place is well worth a visit
Nice bar in the heart of Shoreditch. Just a stone throw away from Spitafields market. The beers averaging around £5 a pint. The seating was very limited and the staff could have been more accommodating. But overall a standard pub with a young vibrant atmosphere. I would go again but not in a hurry. The toilets are not wheelchair accessible.
