The Swine That Dines - Modern British restaurant in Leeds, United Kingdom
Unpretentious food, excellent flavours and unique combinations. There is a very cosy vibe - I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in as it isn’t the most swanky restaurant but I was really blown away by the food.
First time dining at the Swine that Dines. Homely, relaxing atmosphere, Fantastic food, attentive friendly staff. We will be back 😊
Amazing little restaurant. Food was so well thought through, incredible flavours, well presented. Great choice even on a smaller menu. Service was fantastic. Lovely team who clearly enjoy being there and care about their customers. A small number of covers gives a lovely atmosphere. Wonderful experience with great wine and desserts. If youre in Leeds, highly recommend booking a table here, you wont be disappointed.
Great place lovely food and the best staff, keep up the great work
Amazing, it always is! Fav place in Leeds
I had an outstanding meal here last night, from home cooked bread to amazing goats cheese souffle followed by warm Brisket, wonderful desserts - I will be back
Brilliant food, awesome service, will definitely be back.Dont tell your friends as I want to be able to get a reservation 🙂This is the reason I dont give other places 5 stars.
Completely misunderstood what this place is about because of the name! It’s in fact a very unassuming, fine dining restaurant. The food was clearly lovingly prepared and absolutely delicious! The staff were kind and accommodating. Highly recommended!
Nicest food I have had in Leeds. Stunning seasonal menu and even better service. Will definitely be coming back again and again
Cannot recommend this place enough!! My fav restaurant locally. They make you fall in love with your vegetable side dishes like never before! Visited many times and tried many different dishes and always blown away. Very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
Really tasty small menu, had salt cod and duck. Would recommend!!
Had the most amazing meal. The staff were super friendly and the service was amazing. We visited on one of the pie Sundays and enjoyed a deliciously rich and well cooked venison suet pudding. They were very happy to help with my mustard allergy and I was able to eat all items on the menu. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again.
Had a fantastic meal here. Love the nose to tail ethos and Jo the owner is wonderful
Incredible food and a wonderful atmosphere. The duck was sublime! One of the best meals I’ve had.
The food is divine, the menu is small but perfect! And very friendly service.
A real gem of place the food and service were excellent. It is a small place so I recommend booking but it will be worth it.
Another fantastic meal at The Swine That Dines. Having flexed throughout various lockdowns they are still producing amazing food - including a smoked haddock dish that was delicious, and a repeat order of their signature custard tart. Very good wine list too.
Fantastic food with a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. Like going round to a friends house but one that can really cook. Felt at home from the minute we walked in and will definitely go again. Also really good value for money. I cant fault it.
Ive visited The Swine That Dines on a handful of occasions over the years and never been anything but delighted with the whole experience. Last night was no exception, despite the impact of the pandemic on the hospitality industry. Service from Jo is warm and welcoming with the emphasis on being treated as a guest rather than just a customer. The food is seasonal, contemporary and without a hint of the pretention that often accompanies modern cuisine. Stu, on his own in the kitchen, demonstrates his skill and passion for ingredients without putting a foot wrong in any of the dishes. The seven hour shoulder of hogget with anchovy mayonnaise is an unalloyed triumph. Taste this and you will never again give a rack of lamb so much as a sideways glance. This restaurant deserves to not just survive coronavirus but to thrive. Im confident it will do just that.
Had the three course take away for two last night - which was excellent. Nicely packaged, simple instructions, and easy to get ready.Very nice combination of tasty food! Definitely recommended!
Warm, friendly and exceptionally great food!
One of my favourite meals of 2019!Cannot rate this place highly enough. The food is incredible. Great prices. Warm friendly staff & a lovely venue. Not to be missed!!
If you haven’t been already you need to visit The Swine That Dines on a pie Sunday! ... Such lovely staff and a great choice on their menu (Which does change frequently). I went for the ham leek and cheddar pie, we shared a side of greens and mash between two! For pudding we had the cherry jam roly poly with boozy cherries which was delicious! ...This was my first time visiting the restaurant but I will definitely be back!
7 course tasting menu for £55 for 2 people.
This restaurant has many thing going for it that make it perfect for me. Small, friendly service, an interesting fixed menu the bring your on wine. The food was excellent, with familiar foods served in new ways - tempura broccoli. Over the 7 small courses we were treated to some lovely food (it changes every month). The service was very good and really complemented the meal, with knowledgable staff able to explain each course and answering questions with enthusiasm. Highly recommended.
We had heard good things about TSTD, but our experience last night far exceeded our expectations. It started as we walked through the door, the aroma coming from the kitchen excited our taste buds and boy the food that arrived on our plates delivere. We had the seven plates tasting (standard), and we added the polenta dish and custard dessert. We enjoyed every plate, but our highlights were; chicken livers, chickpea, potato and ox tongue. On top of the food, the service was exceptional and the restaurant felt homely. Given most ‘fine’ dining restaurants can be quite stuffy at times, this was refreshing. Great price point too. This will be a regular on our dining rota in the future and we look forward to coming back.
We booked a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We didnt know what to expect, except that we had to take our own drinks, for which there was a £5 corkage fee. As we were shown to our table we were told that it was a vegetarian restaurant offering a 7 course tasting menu with optional extras. As each course was brought to the table, we were provided with an explanation of the dish. We chose to have the optional mushroom dish, which was really tasty. To finish, we had English apple cake with cider sorbet and nut brittle. Altogether, a really great experience and something completely different. Well recommended.

Lovely food in a great setting. Im always a little sceptical of small plates but there is plenty is go around and I could not fault the combination of flavours, just exquisite! Sofia was so personable and a great host. Great evening all round with a very reasonable bill. Looking forward to returning to see what other combinations the chefs can put together!
Absolutely well worth a visit, extremely good food, very well presented and the staff couldnt have been more friendly.I cannot rate this place well enough, and a really good tasting menu for £25?Worth every penny!
Superb great value family run eatery serving 7 course set tasting menu which changes each month. Prices below are for two people not each! What it lacks in choice it makes up for in the quality and ingenuity of the cooking. Amazing flavours and combinations. BYOB with no corkage for a quality evening out. Booking essential and worth travelling a considerable way for.
Really great spot, 7-8 courses to share were all delicious, service was very friendly and helpful and unpretentious relaxed atmosphere. The fact you can bring your own wine is a bonus.Definitely be back
We visited in a family group - two adults and two children (12+). The restaurant offers a set menu of 7 dishes and they were able to amend or replace some of these dishes to accommodate the one vegetarian in our group. The food is focused more towards an adult palate (there are no children’s options). The dishes themselves were beautifully presented and the flavours were amazing. As the restaurant is very small I would definitely recommend booking (the booking is for just under 2 hours which we found was plenty of time to linger over the meal and sample some of the desserts too). The restaurant isn’t licensed so you can bring your own alcohol and in the evening there is plenty of parking available on nearby roads. Would recommend as a great place to start your evening with friends or family.

A brilliant experience. I’ve been here twice now, and both times have been impressed by the wonderful food, and exceptional service. On both visits we loved the range of dishes with some weird and wonderful things to try. The fact that the owners are serving and cooking the food adds a great personal touch too. The only improvement for me would be the seating area and toilet needing a bit of TLC to match the rest of the experience.
First time visiting, and what a great experience! 7 courses served mainly in pairs, plus we added a couple of extras at the end. The food was fab, the service was wonderful and the small amount of tables makes it feel very intimate. On top of all this its incredible value for money! Well definitely be back again next month!
Stupendous tasting menu of small plates to share. The menu changes on a regular basis and the dishes are all interesting and delicious. Of particular interest was a lemon mash which was light and citrusy and worked surprisingly well with the texture of the mashBYOB and the staff could not be more engaging and idiosyncratic, really really hospitable
Was expecting good things....and Wow was it so much more! Amazing food, great ambience, friendly team. If I could give 6 stars!
I thought Id booked a table, however I forgot to enter my bank card details so the booking didnt go through. But when we arrived at the restaurant they were so accommodating and found a table for two for me and my wife. The food was really interesting and the flavours were excellent.its such a small and lovely dining experience I would heartily recommend it to anybody that really enjoyed their food. (Plus been able to bring your own booze makes it a heck of a lot cheaper then it would be otherwise). I will definitely be going back.
A fabulous place, the vegetarian breakfast was probably the best I have eaten The portions are more then enough, so to who ever complains the portions are small must be gready pigs. No complaints with the coffee either, good and strong as it should be. 10 out of 10.
Excellent place to get breakfast in Leeds. Small place so get in early. Coffee is pretty good, but the food is awesome. Veggie friendly options available! My favourite option is pancakes, bacon and maple syrup!
Their full English breakfast (7 poundswas not too bad, but there was only one rasher of bacon, one sausage, and one egg. The plate was also not warmed so everything got a bit cold.On the other hand, the mushrooms and toast were of high quality. The ambience of the place is also great. Overall, not bad, but could be better. 3.5 out of 5.
Food is decent and cheap. They make a great vegetarian breakfast. coffee isnt great. Very popular and there can be a wait at peak times. Staff seem friendly enough. Probably one of the best brunch spots in the centre when it comes down to it- I just wish the coffee was better!
Having read reviews decided it was worth a go! I had standard breakfast which Id rate as fine but not anything special, £7 also did not seem that cheap when you only get one rasher of bacon. Mrs. had pancakes and maple syrup. Pancakes were good n plenty of them. All in all felt it was okay but wouldnt bother walking the couple of mins from centre to visit again. Easier to go to Debenhams or somewhere given cost in my view.
Amazing food from local suppliers, great coffee and really friendly staff. I had the veggie breakfast which was amazing, worth the price particularly as coffee was included. My friend had their well known pancakes and fried chicken - the pancakes were honestly the best Ive ever tasted. I highly recommend The Greedy Pig for breakfast!
Ive had lunch many times here and finally got down to try their evening menu too. I was NOT disappointed! The owners have an amazing vision, and the talent to pull it off. So if youre looking for lunch or dinner at the weekend, or even just coffee and cake - this is one not to miss!
Outstanding food ! Transforms from high end cafe in the morning , to extremely delicious exotic small plates in the evening under its alias The Swine that Dines . Book early its very popular, for good reason !
So i Google mapped breakfast in Leeds centre, and this place seemed attractive. I was not disappointed in the slightest. Lovely staff, truly incredible food and i mean that.Id never tried the maple syrup/bacon combo before, and Ive never been a huge fan of pancakes. I am converted.I will be back whenever i meet a friend for breakfast in Leeds again. Only draw back is that seating is limited, not a huge space but we were seated promptly and comfortably. Highly, highly recommend!
After rave reviews and national press hype, I was expecting a lot more, the food is innovative, but was not very well executed a touch of seasoning goes a long way. Also the size of the café was an issue, the kitchen is only deprecated by a room divider, and the ventilation is inadequate for such a venue, I found my eyes started to sting from the fryer oil....Sorry, I really wanted to like the Greedy Pig
Vegetarian weekend...first weekend of the month offered a superb taster dinner menu for two. Honestly the best tapas style dinner Ive had, vegetarian or not. Friendly personal service. No piped music...winner!
