Traditionally decorated pub with awning-covered streetside tables, real ales and bar menu.
Wonderful Pub with tasty Beers, Finger food and perfect atmosphäre. We enjoyed it every day.
Stopped in starving and exhausted after an exciting all day bus tour. Forgot it was Sunday night games so it was super loud and crowded inside with mostly tourist. I waited for an outside table as long as possible then was forced to take a small spot at the bar. It took forever to get a drink and menu. I ordered shrimp scampi which was fried shrimp tots to me. So turned off by food, service and atmosphere, Im surprised at some glowing revues. Guess it was not my night there even though it was my birthday!
Half the food & drinks we ordered werent available. Then got asked to move as our chairs were in the way of the toilets. Got up & left as all the other tables occupied by football viewers who didnt seem to be eating or drinking.
Limited seating but decent beer and edible pub grub. Some nice but limited outdoor seating too out the front where you can watch the world go by and a handy meeting point if youre meeting folks near Gloucester Road station
Very nice pub!I’ve been there to grab a beer and some small plates!Everything was good! They got one of my orders wrong, but they were very nice changing it.I recommend it!
Very busy,I have a crack glass told the staff they were not happy about it
Lovely pub in the heart of the west end. Walking distance to the station and museums as well as the Royal Albert Hall. Good selection of beers and delicious pub grub
If you’re gonna accuse someone of stealing a glass you better be right.Edit to reply to reply: one of your staff members searched my colleague and my coat to see if we stole pint glasses out of nowhere. We did not.
A pub menu with great variety. Fantastic food and atmosphere.
Nice local pub . Food is decent . Prices are good .it could be busy evenings and weekends
Pubs ok but served a meat pie that was still cold in the middle. They were quick to change it but still disappointing.
Food looked lovely but didnt taste as nice..Had the steak and ale pie and think it was the ale to they used that was the problem
When we walked in here there were very few people but some were eating and it looked nice so we ordered drinks and food. While we were waiting for our food the place started filling up. Our food took ages. Some of the newcomers were served before us. When we asked we were told the kitchen was very busy. It took nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive, just a fish finger sandwich and ham egg and chips. The egg was cold, the fish fingers were cold and the batter very greasy, oil oozed out of them. The bread was dry. We complained and did get our money back but as we were pushed for time we had to then head off to the show without having eaten anything. Would not recommend this place.
Was visiting London for a few days and this pub was round the corner from where we were staying. It’s a busy little pub but with a good atmosphere and the prices are ok for London
I walked in and they had Man Utd on all screens. I asked if they could switch one screen to the West Ham game and to my surprise and delight, they did. What heroes.
Ordered at table with app, 50 minutes later it came... the fish and chips were great though.... service was slow, staff was not overly friendly not apologetic...
Very nice British Pub, you have to eat the traditional fish and chips
I fell in love with this pub about three years ago. Great nachos amazing rhubarb cider normal prices for London and its across the round from Gloucester Road Station so easy to get to and east to get home
A bit loud and the food was hit and miss. Highly recommend the toasties, avoid the burgers.
I know it is zone 1 but, £7.75 for a pint? Overall a good experience, nothing special, just another pub owned by Greene King, definitely better options in the area.
Good food, good drinks, fair prices and nice team. I really recommend going there for a nice fish and chips or some drinks, as youll have a great time anyway!
Great food, great beverages, close to hotels and walking distance to Hyde Park
Classic pub, good vibes! The big fish and chips is massive! Ask it without bread, the bread is tasteless and soggy (maybe because I am french haha)
Nice public house set in South Kensington staff were polite and quick at serving there customers
Cracking place to go for fish and chips for lunch. Generous portions, hot and really delicious.
We really enjoyed our time at The Stanhope Arms! Our food was so delicious and its a got a great classic pub environment. Pick a table then order your food and drinks from the bar! The chicken and mushroom pie had a wonderful pastry and filling. The Mac & Cheese was to die for! It had so many good flavors. We will definitely be back!
The fish and chips were delicious. The portion was more than enough. Great pub atmosphere.
Great food that straddles the boundary between traditional pub fare and stuff thats a little different. Satisfying portion sizes, nothing too big. Pints are a bit on the pricey side but cant do much about that being in central London! All in all great place for a lunch with some decent options even for vegetarians.
Very pleasant pub with good ales. The pub grub looked good although I wasnt stopping to eat on this occasion. The decor was fitting for a pub with history. Pleasant stop off.
Food excellent, great service, friendly staff, toilets a let down, not very clean
Given how crowded it was, I was expecting slow service or chilly food. Nope! Service was lightning fast, food was very good (I had fish and chipsand arrived hot. Nice busy pub atmosphere, close to the tube stop.
Great little pub, nice staff, food is decent and a good range of beers, been here many many times, big screen and two smaller ones showing sport but also good friendly atmosphere and music when sports arent on.
Ordered 2 Beef Sirloin and half chicken Sunday roast but was told only one available, so I took the Hunters chicken so my dad would get the roast. When food arrived it was only a beef roast we got. Spoke to the gentleman behind the bar and said, this isn’t what I ordered. His reply was “these things happen”.** No apology or anything. **Throughout the meal the bar staff stared at me and made it very uncomfortable whilst eating my meal.I asked the bar staff why was he staring at me while I was eating my meal and I was rudely told to eat my dinner.Absolutely disgusting behaviour by any bar staff. I think management need a good look at their staff or more training should be provided.*** I have now wrote an official complaint to the Green King head office regarding this issue. Intimidating a customer who questioned their meal is disgusting behaviour from any member of staff ***
Nice atmosphere, food was disappointing, very greasy. Found alcohol prices extremely overpriced.
Nice friendly pub. Steak & Ale pie tasted nice taste but had nasty bits inside. Cabbage was inedible. Mash lovely. Nice beers
Such a friendly pub. Walked in here after being turned away from pizza express where we were told they were fully booked at 3pm - apparently all the empty tables were going to be filled very soon. Anyway, glad we got to visit this pub. Excellent staff. Reasonably priced drinks. Some drinks, some ice cream, lots of fun
Lovely little pub, staff warm and friendly, food piping hot and lovely. Tables far too close together to make sitting down or standing up easy. Several times our table was bumped with other people trying to sit/stand up at their table, hence 4 stars.
My friend and I enjoyed a brilliant lunch here before visiting the science museum. The staff were helpful, the pub is clean and nicely decorated. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and I recommend the beyond burger!
Called in for a quick pint with a colleague while down in London on business in January 2020.Seemed a nice pub, clean and tidy, and although it was a Friday early evening and starting to get busy we still managed to get a table. Service was okay, and the beer tasted good. Its proximity to the Gloucester Road tube station and local hotels was also ideal.
Pub. Shows sport. Food and drink selection. Beers (currentlyinclude Beavertown Neck Oil and Gamma Ray. Also selection of beers and lagers. Atmosphere is fine. Pub is solid but nothing special.
Nice cafe-restaurant, spacious and cozy, with all kinds of people. Excellent for watching a football match, because there are several large high-quality screens. Prices for a pint are too high though, at £6.50.
Service from the staff was good despite a little misunderstanding over what bourbon was (I think it was our accents). Had the classic fish and chips food was cooked well and the fish tasted fresh. Service speed was a little below par but nothing to complain about
This small pub is located just south of the Gloucester Road tube station. At 5pm on a Monday, it was packed, but we lucked out to nab a small tabletop two. This is a place where you seat yourself and order drinks and food from the bar. My husband ordered and paid, and returned with his beer and an Aspall cider for me. We had about a 35 minute wait for food, reasonable considering how busy it was. My husband’s fish and chips were piping hot and delicious. I ordered the supergreen salad, loaded with shaved carrot and cucumber, with a lovely lemon dressing to bring everything together. I paid for the addition of chicken and it was perfectly cooked.
It is amazing restaurant special for breakfast don’t miss out you have to visit this place wooo
A good pub with solid liquor pours + friendly staff. Several American universities within a few blocks, so a good place to catch up with American co-eds, if that’s your thing. Immediately across from Gloucester Road Tube Station.
First english pub experience - full house, but lucky to get a table. We had fish and chips, a really big portion, drinks and desert. Noisy for not being used to, but it is a very popular place as I saw. Great service.
Its ok. The decor is obviously quite new and there was mostly a tourist crowd when I went. Theyve got a pretty good range of ales including a favourite, Hophead, but unfortunately there was a bitter taste which was probably line cleaner. That spoiled things a bit
Great food and wide variety of beers here. Lovely atmosphere too
We stopped in for a bite to eat and were honestly disappointed with the food, it was a bit expensive, and options were quite limited. The service was okay,We did however stop back later in the evening and even on a Monday Night this bar was busy, so bottom line. Go if your getting drinks, not food.
A British pub that offers food and drink but little else. It has a range of draught bèers and lagers for about £5. They also serve food from about £10 to £20.
