BELOW STANDARD!I’m sorry I’m not usually very critical about places but I had one of the worst experiences recently not just once but twice! The first time we didn’t even get the chance to try the food because the person serving was so rude saying we couldn’t dine in because they closed soon when there was still an hour and 15 minutes left, after we said we might go elsewhere because we where looking for a place to eat in at because it was a cold winters night the guy rolled his eyes at another staff member! Only a few weeks later we tried a second time as we wanted to give them another chance because we thought we might have just caught them on a bad day because I understand everyone has days like that, but no once again they still made a deal that they close in “an hour and a half” so we have to eat quickly! Not very inviting! The eating area upstairs looked really good and cool but it was super cold and dirty and the food was not worth waiting for either! Sad and bland :(As much as I really wanted to give the standard a good review and a second chance they just didn’t do it for me and I really can’t recommend this place! Hopefully sometime in the future I’ll give them a 3rd chance and it will be a much more enjoyable experience and I’ll rewrite this review to a 5 stars but for where it is at the minute it’s sadly a 1/5 stars from me :((

MORE EXPENSIVE ONLINEThe burgers were great, especially my chicken burger. But we ordered online from The Standards website when we were about five minutes away -- figured it would save us a bit of time waiting. But first there was an online payment fee and then when we got to the store to pick up our order, we also found out the burgers were more expensive online than if we had ordered in-store. So we ended up unnecessarily paying an extra $4.20 for two people. Just something to be aware of, as its not obvious from their website.

Very good! One of the better burger places Ive been to. The burgers are often flavourful and made with effort.The staff are friendly and the aesthetic is inspired. There are arcades also available though money is required to play which is a bit dissapointing considering youve already paid for the food.

Wait times can tend to be long here which can be okay if youre not in a hurry.One time my thickshake was half melted but they were nice enough to make it fresh again right away when I asked.I used to really like the pastry cream pie things they used to do. Fantastic burgers and fries, gave a great feeling of the Sydney/Melbourne burger craze without too many compromises.Was really good to go to a bit tipsy and get around a large burg. Yum yum.

This is the best burger joint in the country, discovered it years ago when my ship pulled into Hobart and it was just a hole in the wall down an alleyway. Now its a multi-level store with excellent decor. I flew from Canberra with my wife just to prove to her how good it was and we ate there everyday of our holiday. 5 stars isnt enough and I wish there was a shop in Canberra.

Have been previously and it was okay, not rave worthy.This time, order was messed up, we were the only ones in the place. Son refused to eat his burger after 2 bites, said it tasted strange.I tried it and found it bland and the taste was just the overpowering burnt bun.My burger was like it was cooked in Heinz yellow mustard. The onions were the only other flavour, that patty was impossibly thin.The wifes grilled chicken burger was the worst of the lot. Inedible.And you pay top dollar for this. Its not worth the money at all.

looking for places to have a decent burger I was surprised when I saw this place on the list bc I would always passed by and would be empty. So I decided to give it a try: oh, boy how I regret bc Im addicted. Best burger I had in ages! Honestly! The burger patty is yummy, its weird we have to mentioned but its actually good meat patty not something mixed with flour. the chips was on point, so crunchy! And the staff was friendly 10/10

Food was great. Music was my vintage and unexpected but appreciated and unexpected in this time.Staff friendly and while our order was mucked up it was delicious and very filling.

Visited while staying in Hobart after researching where to find a good burger and I was not disappointed. Seriously I think this was possibly the best burger Ive ever had.Bun was nice and soft, and the patty was cooked perfectly and with the melted cheese.. YUM! Not to mention the fries, I dont know how they do it but everything was excellent!Dining space is pretty cool, with a main dining room on the first floor, and a balcony on the top floor.

Ordered the standard. This was not like any burger I’ve ever seen. As one of the previous review called it a” beef waifer” Which was so thin all the edges were burnt and crunchy. No love and no taste. My order was cold. These are worse than McDonald’s. Onion rings were ok. Disappointing.

The burger there are soooo tasty! Definitely one of the best burger shops in Hobart! Not to mention the super friendly staff and the cozy environment.Highly recommend!!

Delicious burgers and fries and milkshakes, outstanding retro styled venue with great music, 3 levels, one roof-top part that you can go up to when it isnt raining, unfortunately, its rained everytime Ive been. Highly recommend!

Found this place wandering while visiting Hobart. Quiet night but food was great. Chips a little on the crunchy side for me but still tasty. I got the double standard. Was really good. Patties were thin but would have been too much if there were thicker. Decent beers and softdrinks to wash it all down aswel. Would came back.

Great Burgers 🍔 & friendly service. The Animal is my go-to source of protein, with two smashed beef patties, onion, tomato, pickles, American cheese 🧀 + Animal sauce. So delicious 🤤

Waited over 25 minutes for a sub standard burger. This used to be the place to get the best burgers in Hobart, maybe Australia... Now they are small with a super thin beef patty. My burger was barely warm and had almost no flavour. All my friends warned me that they had lowered their quality, I now see they were right. I will be sure to never return!

My partner came here twice during our stay in Hobart after reading great reviews. The first time we came was during the week where they were doing takeaways only, which wasnt what we planned on doing originally, but they were delicious anyway! The burgers were tasty and the the chips were amazing! We then went back on a Saturday night when they were doing dine-in, and the burgers were amazing yet again, and service was great. The place has a really cool atmosphere too. If you like burgers then youll love this place!

Ordered the cowboy. Find it difficult to call this a “patty” by any standard. Perhaps “beef wafer” is a better description!

My partner and I ate here today after reading reviews about how great this place is.The vibe was great but the food was poor.Undercooked chicken in both the burger and the popcorn chicken. The only thing we could eat were the fries. Waste of money and won’t be returning.

What happened to this place, it used to be one of my favourite burger places in Hobart. Today my burger was like something from a corner shop. Soggy lettuce which had gone brown, the stalk end of a tomato, burnt greasy patties. The chips were so salty as well. Really disappointing.

Great burgers. Meat patties are thin as paper but I suspect it helps with stay tender and can’t fault it being really tasty. Love that they have a few options including bunless / vege if you wanna be a little ‘health conscious’.

Moved to Hobart on Tuesday. First thing I ordered when arriving was The Thunderbird burger with fries. And it was top notch! Juicy chicken, lots of sauce and plenty of fries!! Will become a regular :love TAS!

Good food, good service, bang for the buck.Thunderbird is definitely the best burger they have. The KFC burger (korean fried chickenwas okay, if you’re a fan of kimchi dressing.I went during not so busy hours, probably wouldn’t find a table to sit if there was a rush though.

If you want a guilty pleasure burger, this is the place! Nothing healthy about any of it, but the food is always great and they have a good range of burgers, sides and drinks.

Terrible service. Provided with this patronising message and this monstrosity. No number to contact, nothing provided in compensation. $17 worth. No sides included even though photos when ordering feature sides.

I had the double standard burger, which is their signature burger, and it was delicious!! The shakes were ok, but need improvement.The real let down for this place (and it may be a one time thing), but there is a strong odor of B.O.Whether it was the clientele or the venue itself, this place had an odor which had me change my order from eat in to take away.That being said, I would definitely go back! But instead call ahead and place my take away order.

This place has an awesome vibe and the burgers are quite good. Unfortunately, the staff member forgot part of our order and we had to go back up and remind them 15-20 minutes later. Anyway, we chilled out and enjoyed watching The Matrix while we were there.Its not the best burger in Hobart (Stevos Takeaway is #1), but its certainly better than most.

The atmosphere of the almost food stalling restaurant is quite unique with neon logos and coke in a glass bottle (always preferred). With no tables, we had to eat out on benches and the eating experience was a bit messy. The burger itself was satisfactory. Bun is toasted however lacked a bit of structure and kinda crumbled after a period of holding. The beef patty was well cooked, rare in the middle and juicy enough. Nothing of the budget particularly stood out to me, nor did anything would cause me to dislike it.

Burgers are pretty tasty but the single beef patty on my burger was TINY! I knew it was thin but my tomato was legit thicker. Go for the double if you want to taste more of the meat. On the plus side, milkshakes are huge here!

GREAT burgers and a warm, simple atmosphere super chilled place. Love it!
