Amazing vegan food in a cosy pub! The pie and mash was sooo good.
The food is gooooood. And Im so happy that I could have a White Russian. I loved this cocktail before going vegan. Thank you all for making this beautiful place
Cool pub with a bar vibe serving all Vegan menu. Friendly bar team. Super pool table area.
Back in London and had to make the journey across town for a vegan roast! 🍽I had the Nut Roast and also tried the Beet Wellington, with Leek Gratin sides. The Beet Wellington was my fave, tasted amazing. Nut roast was a 3.5-4/5 (its cooked in a cabbage leaf so its more of steamed nut roast).Thicker gravy please, would be 👌🏾I recommend the sticky toffee pudding vs the crumble🥄Service was great, did not rush us and very friendly! 🌱
The only vegan pub in London! Delicious food with good coffee and vegan Sunday roast. Superb interior with a garden. Highly recommend!
Sunday roast “beet Wellington” was phenomenal. We’ve also had a BBQ plate here that was extremely good. “Ribs” and corn on the cob. Can’t say the same about the service unfortunately, as the waitress walked by us about 5 times without approaching, and I had to order at the bar.
Really nice vegan pub with friendly staff. The food is really good as are the drinks, highly recommend!
I really wanted to like this place. Lovely looking pub, friendly service. Orders were taken quickly and food came in a reasonable time frame but taste wise I just cant justify giving more than 3 stars. The gravy looked very anaemic and had little to offer other than being super salty. I would have preferred if it came served on the site rather than poured all over. Potatoes were average at best, root vegetables looked pretty but again average and whose ideas was it to make a giant slice of celeriac the center stage of the roast. Sounds like something meat eaters would normally come up with. As for the yorkshire puddings: I know its hard to get them exactly the same like real ones but these were just like a wet dumpling and not crispy at all, probably not helped by being drowned in gravy. The only redeeming features were the greens which were really nice.
What a lovely pub! We had Vegan Sunday Roast and it was scrumptious. Great vibe with good selection of mocktails. We shall be returning!
I was excited to visit a vegan pub - great idea - but having been twice to give it a proper chance I was not impressed either time. Most recently we had a ploughmans board followed by pie and mash. The ploughmans was fine but the cold pie included was tough, difficult to eat and didnt have a flavor. The pie and mash was disappointing too - our mash was watery, the pie filling was an weird texture and flavour and instead of gravy it was topped with a strange green soup? I havent tried Sunday roast yet from the other reviews roasts look fab so Ill have to try.Cocktails were delish, staff were lovely - service outstanding despite being sat outside. Thank you so much.
Late dinner for three couldnt have gone better. Great place for well thoughtout vegan food. We had a real test of the menu with two little plates for shared starters, one for a small main and two of the big plates, plus a few deserts. The soup, fennel, and tarte tatin were our savoury highlights and the chocolate tart rocked the deserts. My only gripe was the sticky toffee wasnt sticky or rich enough for me and the room could do with some noise management. The waiters were great; attentive and helpful. Really stylish place. Will definitely be going back!
Not great. Im not trying to be negative because Im not vegan but going with my vegan friends, Ive always been open to trying good food vegan or not. Unfortunately what I found was the service was good but the food was not. Price was relatively high ~£15+ for mains and it felt like I was eating mush the whole time. My other half also found the same experience although she would probably rate the food even lower than me.As a message to the vegan food industry, definitely need to work better on flavour, texture and generally taste otherwise, you wont be converting the masses anytime soon especially with that level of pricing. The only solid thing at the pub outside of service was the aperol spritz which was very good.
Vegans!!!!!! GET YOUR SUNDAY ROAST HERE. We got the nut roast, beetroot wellington and the celeriac and potato roast. Would recommend 100%
Sadly the Sunday roast was too salty to enjoy or even taste the different flavours, dessert was good though.
Outstanding food and really lovely staff. Amazing vegan pub. Chicken of the wood burger was brilliant
Fantastic pub, great selection of beers and a completely vegan and delicious menu! Staff absolutely lovely
Great food, very tasty despite being a meat eater. Good selection of beer and friendly staff.
Nice pub, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Full vegan menu, but one of the places we go with meat eating parents because they do a solid selection of stuff!A selection of craft beers, including their own lager. Well worth a trip.
Just had a great meal at this pub. Shared four of the little plates - herb omelette, aubergine, sundried tomato felafel and crispy potatoes. All delicious, generous portions freshly cooked and distinctively flavoured. Best meatless meal for a long time. Plus friendly service and good beer. Recommended.
The most amazing pub! Had a leaving do for a friend and had 2 4 1 cocktails until 1 am. Absolutely amazing! Seriously, just come here! We loved it!
Lovely bouncers, lovely staff. Good beer. Half price cocktails. Perfect for a group of people. Dodge the other local dumps.
Food was unbelievably good. Possibly my best ever meal. Great atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend a visit :)
Ive been to The Spread Eagle several times now... a slightly different experience each time I go. Today was Sunday Roast... last time I had celeriac... it was Amazing... made better by the best horse raddish sauce... today I had nut roast tasted ok but was sloppy... its actually a steamed parcel of nut roast mixture in a cabbage leaf... nothing roasted about it. The horse raddish sauce was a total disappointment... I wondered if the brought out mayonnaise instead. We had oversea visitors... a bit of a let down
Dreadful experience tonight. We are chickpea fritters @ £8.50 as a starter. Took ages to arrive and was dry and flavourless. Our mains of artichoke and samphire plus Korean mushroom burger were over priced and totally lacking in quality. There was one quarter of an artichoke in the paella which tasted mostly of paprika. It looked like it had been reheated from a tupper and devoid of any chefs hands. The burger was mostly sauce and the fries were skinny, white and bland. Both mains at £14 should have been delicious in a vegan restaurant, they were totally mediocre and very late in coming. It wasn’t exactly busy but the chef seems to have been asleep. Shame as I’d heard great things. Won’t be back.
Great vegan pub with an amazing Sunday roast. Can’t wait to try their regular menu.
We went to have Sunday Roast and we ordered one of each. The walnut and cashew nut roast was okay better than the celeriac one that I had. However, the pudding was small and rather dry.The fact that we waited almost an hour for the food, we expected the food to be top-notch. Hence the 3 stars.
Overhyped and overpriced roast! The roast is nothing to write home about.. the roast potatoes were okay, nothing great. The veg was under seasoned, the gravy was thin and a bit watery. the Yorkshire pudding was a good effort but not fully successful and very small. The puddings were also small portions considering the price, the custard was as thin as milk and not a good taste either. Overall for £32 (including servicefor two courses (without drinksis not good value at all. We also waited about half an hour between main and dessert which wasn’t great. Overall, I would not say it’s worth a trip!
This place is excellent! The food was great, the drinks were great (would recommend the Jubel Grapefruit Lager), I love their overall vegan/no waste approach and the service was nothing short of excellent. I will definitely be back soon and cant recommend it enough! Thanks :)
Great all vegan Pub! Went there as with my gf and had the vegan Sunday roast with some cake and ice cream as dessert. Cozy and inclusive atmosphere. People incl. the service were super nice even the place was packed. Maybe consider making a reservation. Highly recommend!!!
All vegan pub with tasty Sunday roast menu for all eating habits. The staff are very nice, the food was good (the caulifower chese was underwhelming, but the sticky toffe pudding was great!), and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Be sure to make a reservation in advance as it can get busy. I’d recommend this place for vegans and non-vegans.
Good quality vegan comfort food. Flavourful and priced well. Would recommend for Sunday lunch.
Id highly recommend coming here for lovely cocktails, service and ambiance. The Sunday Roast was average, we got all three varieties on our table and we were not overly satisfied. The Yorkshire Puddings were almost cake like. The ice cream was lovely but tart, not so great. I would definitely recommend the cocktails.
Great vegan course menu and mom alcoholic beer on tap! Had a lovely soup, followed by but roast and the plum custard. Will be back!
Couldnt recommend this venue more for an event. Great communication with Tom from the start and he answered any questions I had. The venue is beautiful, I am ashamed to say out of all the times I visited the pub I had never been seen the function room. It is the perfect size for my 35 guests and it was gorgeous. Particularly love the cool neon sign!I pre ordered drinks which were already stored and chilled in the fridge. Table was already decked out with glasses and cutlery. And the food arrived on time and was delicious.Attentive staff throughout and couldnt do enough to help. It was drawn to the event location because they had such a reasonable booking charge compared most venues across London.Big thank you Tom and the Spread Eagle team for making it such a successful night. We will be returning for future functions !
Nice vibes for Sunday roast. We all enjoyed and none of us are vegan (yet). Really enjoyed the Bloody Mary’s with the mega pickles
Great all vegan pub! We went on new years eve & really appreciated being squeezed in without a booking. Service is friendly and attentive. Try the cocktail menu. On Sundays they do 3 variations of a roast and the beet wellington is the best vegan roast I have had!
Disappointed, I was really looking forward to a nice vegan meal, all I got was a mediocre mushroom "hamburger"completely overpriced, in a hot dog bread that probably was bought 2 days ago, with a "salad" that was literally lettuces leaves with some dressing on top, not ever cut 🤷🏻♀️. The fries were the only good thing!Great place for drinks but the food was terrible and complety overpriced
Fabulous find, 100% vegan food & drinks, all 100% delicious, lovely setting and friendly staff too. Loved it.
Lovely vibe and a nice outdoor setup. Food was delicious and good value (for London). Will definitely be back.
My partner and I visited The Spread Eagle for our first meal out after lockdown and had an incredible vegan Sunday roast - I had the nut roast and my partner had the pot roast, and we also split the cauliflower cheese and a sticky toffee pudding - all super tasty and we ate every morsel! They have managed to keep traditional flavors and dishes while making them vegan, which is amazing! Staff were super friendly and attentive with good service, and we sat outside in the lovely little garden area which was socially distanced from other tables and had a great ambiance with plants and sunlight in the early afternoon. Also they had an excellent drinks list. Wonderful experience overall and cant wait to visit again.
The best roast of my life. Dessert was great too. Inventive and substantial all-vegan food, with traditional flavours in mind. The gravy was incredible and the roast potatoes just perfect.Clean space and funky decor. The drinks looked beautiful and sounded very well thought through, hopefully they will add a more consistent mocktail section in the future.Service was attentive and friendly. I wish there was a place like this in West London!Well done to the whole team, showing that plant based doesn’t mean tasteless or boring is a real feat.I will be back to try the third Sunday roast option AND the weekly menu!Thank you for a truly great experience
Amazing vegan pub with outstanding food - can’t recommend enough, I will definitely return to try everything else on the menu!
Known as Londons first 100% vegan pub. It was my first time at The Spread Eagle in Homerton. Great pub, friendly staff, Very good efficient service, and very good vegan food with a variety of options that hits the spot nicely! Good drinks selections. Portions could be a bit bigger but overall a very satisfied customer that would highly recommend a visit here for anyone that appreciates good quality vegan food.
I may be biased as this is right around the corner from me, but this is a delightful pub with a great range of craft beers on tap. Went for the vegan Mexican food which was delicious - got all 5 tacos of the moment, my top 3 were chorizo, bacon and tofish. Dont be fooled, menu is 100% vegan, but 100% tasty for vegans and non vegans alike. You may want to reserve a table as more than half the pub was reserved or occupied at 7pm. A little slow to get served but may have been due to being a Tuesday, staff themselves were lovely.
London’s first 100% Vegan pub. Lovely pub in centre of Homerton. Beautiful atmosphere with really great crowd. The pub itself serves Mexican food which is also VEGAN so a wonderful treat. You even see people with dogs inside which is another plus - totally animal friendly. Reasonable prices and it’s possible to reserve an area including a beautifully neon like area at the back. Very recommended to visit at least once but definitely do come more often.
Great place for drinks, proper local pub atmosphere and if youre into vegan food then this is one of the best in the area (amongst many other new vegan restaurantsThe Club Mexicana menu is delish, especially the tacos which tasted exactly like the ones Ive had around Mexico. The only thing that didnt live up to our expectations was the deep fried avocado but maybe I was just expecting too much. Definitely coming back and trying the burgers next time.
Lovely staff and very good vegan food. We tried 4 dishes and they were all delicious. The tofish tacos were probably the best, but everything was so good its hard to find one thing to single out.
Great vegan food, very busy but quite pricey. It seemed everything was very spicy also, no mild options! Something to note if you are not a spice fan.
A surprisingly delicious fresh food and ambiance experience. We went here for a friend’s birthday. Had the popcorn chick’n - 100% vegan and tasty. Cocktails were great and fun and creative artwork and general good feel.
