A good scene…a fun locals & politician’s Westminster pub. I wish they would ditch all the mega breweries and focus on some great UK craft beer.

I wanted to watch the Queens procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall for her Laying in State. The whole area was cordoned off. Couldnt get near it. I found this pub and comfortably watched it on there TV with a pint of Beaver Towns Neck Oil. It was 100 metres from where it was actually happening. Nice hospitable pub. Helpful and welcoming.

Love the new look, still serves one of the best pints in London.Tom and his team certainly know how to run a pub and are well versed in all that they stock.And of course Frankie the guard dachshund steals the show.Still the best pub in Victoria, even on a bank holiday Monday great atmosphere, great conversation.

Absolute gem of a pub. Great, proper beer, and very friendly staff. Close to Westminster and all the sights, there. No food there, but the staff are happy for you to bring in takeaways from the local Chinese, and chip shop. They will even provide your cutlery!! This happened to me, after my hotel had no restaurant.

I used to visit quite regularly a decade or so ago. Happily the seating arrangement is almost the same. The carpet has been removed which is not a bad event. Tucked away in the back streets of Westminster. Most certainly worth a short detour.

What a good pub this is. Such history and decked out as it should be. Spoke to the staff who were good and had a good bit of natter on them. Will be back for sure.Thanks for accommodating me!

A superb pub doing all the right things, boasting an impressive interior that compliments its historic location. This wonderful wood-panelled venue offers a first-rate pub experience that is just perfect on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Warm customer service that isnt too stiff with a good selection of beers.The absence of TV screens and pop music blaring is noticed and very appreciated, and has guaranteed my return custom!

The perfect pub, busy from 5-7 from home office people, although the pub is really chilled. Amazing staff that remember you and your orders, no food but you are welcome to bring in whatever you like, no problemsIf you’re in the area and want the vibe of a brilliantly run London boozer, I promise you that you NOT be disappointed! X

If you love a pint of real ale then this is the place for you. Outstanding!! I will definitely be back.

I like what they serve, the traditional decorative style they and where they are located. Do not call much attention to pedestrians. It a great place to read your newspaper and grab a drink

Great back street London oub in the heart of the "Westminster Village" of government. Away from the tourist wine bars, this small pub serves a rotating quality beers and at reasonable prices. A regular with civil servants and parliamentarians, the civil atmosphere is quite pleasant compared to the cocky pushy attitude found found North of Victoria Street..

Fabulous little pub, great guest ales. Staff really friendly and a resident sausage dog to boot. Recommended.

This is such a classic pub down the back streets off from Westminster Abbey. They have a large open window which is great for summer days/evenings. The staff are always super friendly. It can become quite packed as there isnt a lot of space but its great for an after work tipple or a quiet lunch.

Wonderful, cosy pub in the heart of London. Feels like you’ve been transported into the past. Great selection of ales, beers and spirits. The bar staff are very welcoming and friendly. Best of all they are dog mad and there are always little doggy treats to be had. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This pub is great. Locals were friendly and we found ourselves talking with people we never met before. A very different experience from your usual pub. Our dog Pedro loved this place. The owner gave him treats and gave him toys to play with. He felt so at home he fell asleep on the leather seats.

This is a fab little place, the staff are welcoming and very friendly. Good choice of wines which was too good to not enjoy, my partner loved working his way through the fab selection on the taps, all followed up by a cheeky cocktail. We loved the boards games which we could use while enjoying our drinks. This is now a place we will try and make a regular. Thank you. X

Tom, Babs, Frank (the beloved poochand the staff are incredibly friendly. This pub his a hidden gem and is well worth a trip for a quality beer and a game of scrabble. Popular with locals and tourists alike.

Far the best traditional Ale House in London. Also a really good selection of spirits, wines and non alcohol refreshments.Love the fact you can bring your takeaway food into the pub and enjoy it with a beverage of your choice. Definitely worth checking this fine establishment out if your a visitor or live locally, you wont be disappointed by the warm welcome and fabulous atmosphere.

This pub is an absolute gem! Found it one day walking my dog to the park and was delighted to find out that it welcomes dogs! Perfect for my husband and I, especially with special ales available. Didnt realise the amount of history the pub has either which was a lovely surprise.Dont miss out on this one guys.

Lovely pub in a great location. Popped in for an after work drink, surprisingly quiet for the time of day. Was served by a cheery cheeky Essex boy manager with whom I had a pleasant conversation about the history of the pub, marmite and how to properly maintain a boat.Nice quiet pub to while away an hour or two after work.

Great beer, a warm welcome and the cutest pub dog - Frank, the miniature dachshund. They dont do food but can you can order takeaway to the pub and eat it at the table.Its a bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit.

Called in today with a friend and was impressed with the refurb since I last visited. The beer was still good and we were warmly welcomed.

Recently renovated the speaker returns with its old school charm. Always busy with Westminster politico types I have been drinking here intermittently for over 17 years and love the cosy friendly environment. Now it has a private room for booking so offers a lot of options for a central get together. Note that toilets are upstairs so not accessible for wheelchairs.
