The Sleeping Camel - Hotel - in Banamba, Mali
the welcome was very warm
Amazing 👏
Hippie style restaurant with a usual good menu. Good vegetarian options to which chicken can be added :-). Nice cocktails and good juices.
Great food and nice atmosphere.
BEST RESTAURANT IN MALI very very very very very very AMAZING and amazing people very entertaining and make new friends
Didnt stay at the hotel, just visited for food and drinks but its a fun spot. Good food, cold beer, good environment. I recommenda visit when in town
Very nice restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and the best sandwiches
Nice place. From the outside, it looks just like an ordinary village house but once you step inside, it feels like youre in a different place altogether.
Great place to hang out and have a drink and a meal.
Nice place. Good security
One of the very few easy going relaxing places where to have a drink and some decent food in Bamako. They have aircon and refreshing spraying water which is a lifesaver during the hot season.
The best place to relax after a hard day, under the stars in the middle of the garden, with few but selected food menu and drinks, inexpensive and good value
NOT a boring place...!The Sleeping Camel seems to be a Bamako Institution: a regular meeting place amongst locals and expats alike. The accommodation is basic and limited but clean and exactly what it says on the tin: a backpacker crash pad.The bar is relaxed, the music always mellow and the beers always cold. The food is surprisingly good: if Bamako had a gastro pub circuit, this would be on it!The best feature is the people to be found chilling at the Camel: often lively, sometimes enigmatic, always interesting!
Simple accommodations in a nice secure and chill atmosphere. Private room with bath and AC around 38 Eur. Free Wi-Fi that works better in the common areas that you really wont mind hanging out in. Friendly staff who are very helpful particularly the Front Desk. Restaurant on property that keeps pretty business as this is a popular dining spot for guests and locals. Most menu items around 5000 CFA although you can get a delicious vegetarian lentil dish for 3500 CFA. This place was definitely a great choice for my stay in Bamako. Easy communication through WhatsApp and they can arrange for airport pickup (12500 CFAand on-site PCR Testing (40000 CFA). I wouldnt hesitate to book here for more local Bamako experience.
Lovely vibe, clean and food 🍲 is the best.....
The Sleeping Camel is a must stop location if you visit Bamako. The management and staff treat you like family. Their prices cant be beat and you will be hard pressed to find an atmosphere as laid back as at the Camel. For first timers I recommend the Smash Burger Camel style, or show up on Tuesday for tacos. If youre in town for an extended trip, talk to management and ask to be added to their Whatsapp group to get updates on the many different events they put on weekly.
Nice outdoor restaurant and bar with daytime outdoor cooling system and insect repellant at night. There is also a swimming pool available for customers. Perfect place to cool off and have a nice meal or cocktail. The menu is available in English and the staff also speak good English.
Visited the restaurant today. Enough staff available, but despite fewer customers, not able to serve in a timely manner. the manager is on holiday and the staff is overwhelmed. Hope it gets better with the service in the future?Ps: they forgot my food and after 1.20 h wasn’t in the mood anymore and headed to my appointment
One of the nicest and best value places to stay in Bamako. Rooms are 15,000 cfa per night with ac and hot showers. Unfortunately they no longer have a dorm
So if you find yourself in Bamako for whatever reason life has presented to you, this is the place to visit. You will find adventure minded clients and managers of the establishment alike. Have a good time buy some shots for your mates and the like. You might run into various aircrew of different back grounds to tell a spectacular story or two. Have fun.
The owner is English, good place, no vegetarian food available, they have only 2 shisha, swimming pool is so much dirty
Great spot nice food friendly staff easy on the pocket
Always a pleasure to eat and have drinks there! :)
Best source of American cuisine in Bko. Real onion rings!
Its always good to go for a drink after work, you feel super relaxed and you eat very well at a reasonable price
I loved the setup and the management of sleeping camel. The food the interior deco and the service was just on point. Thanks I guys hopefully see you again
Nice place with an relaxed atmosphere. Good place to hangout for a beer and be amazed by the bunny rabbits hopping around.
Very nice place to stay and clean and food is so tasty and the stuff is so friendly i really enjoyed staying there for 5 days and sure will come back again and thx to mr filip the owner of the place is so friendly and helpfull
Incredible good, great ambience, affordable drink. I highly recommend the Camel to anyone visiting Bamako.
The Sleeping Camel is a good place to sit and chill with friends while having a few cold ones. The dining experience is terrific, an incredible menu and extremely generous portions.
Good food and setting...recently relocated so still perfecting...management great.. Enjoy and relax...be thankful...lot tougher places to be in Mali...
Great ambiance, very good pub food. Great hangout in Bamako. Friendly staff.
Didnt stay at the hotel. I was at the bar then I took a boat ride on the Niger. It was nice.
Excellent atmosphere and ambience, good service and quality bar food. Sports available also to watch
Great service, great food, great security. Nice place to chill after work. Kitchen closes early at 9pm.
Great food, nice environment, beautiful experience.
Very good hotel. Rooms are big and cleaned everyday. Staff also Very friendly and helpful. There is a taxi service right in the hotel. A/C in every room and good food too.
Best place in town!! Chicken strips and chips are the best!! Don’t forget to ask for beer pitcher!!
One of the best options in Bamako. Simple but clean and spacious rooms. Great food and awesome people.
Very cool place near the Niger River. The security outside is tight, so you can relax and have a good time. Menu items are diverse and the quality is equally good from the Ozzy style burger to the local dishes. Absolutely worth your time! They also have quiz night on Thursday’s and river cruises on Sunday.
We camped here. Good security, easy to get taxis close by, rooms are good and clean but not more than budget. Food is OK but very slow.
You are cut off from Bamako by the high walls and layers of security. Necessary for a high profile location, but there are alternative lower profile locations. The food is good but expensive and aimed at the expat NGO/embassy crowd. Unfortunately there isnt any basic kitchen available or much of a community to buy street food and supplies in walking distance. The staff is nice and you can eat your own food in the restaurant. The washing machine is cheap. The people that pass through are interesting and they have rabits roaming the grounds.
My experience here at the sleeping camel was sensational. Great staff, great atmosphere, met plenty of interesting amazing people during my stay. I highly recommend it.
Great place for backpacker and its value. Also for expat community. Wifi slow, but food is good, reasonable, and great staff. It is lovely to ramble along the river and watch out daily life of people doing veggie garden, fishing...
Very relaxed and laid back. Service is outside w/ some internet & TVs to watch sports on. The food is consistently tasty and inexpensive. The service is slow and the staff are friendly. I love going on a Saturday just to hang out and grab something yummy - Highly recommend their chicken pesto panini, onion rings, and fish burger.
Great meeting point, great food, and very reasonably priced , the owners are gents !
Nice place to hang out, western food and a nice bar, reasonably priced rooms, camping ground.
Safe, international place with clean toilets and good, affordable food. They have great events such as pub quizzes and game nights.
Quiet place to meet friends. Nice food. Cheap prices. Live music. Very recommendable.
Nice, cozy and safe place with clean toilets and great food that wont break your budget.
