The Siam Zaa - Thai restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Several birthday parties were going on, so it was quite noisy. Big downside was they accept cash only !
Ordered crispy pork with egg.all I could taste was white pepper burning my mouth followed by salt about a weeks recommend dose.and no egg.place wasnt busy as it was only 6pm on sat evening. Mates meal was OK but just ok
Great food and value
A lot of the dishes are authentic Thai tasting, reasonable prices, homey vibe, with Singha beer on draught. the day I went, it was a bit busy though, so the food took a while
Great authentic tomyam seafood. Pad thai was average. Service charge is automatically included in bills but is actually optional. Doesnt accept cards payment but allows bank transfer.
Visited Siam Zaa with friends after Zaap rejected us(they closed at 10 but refused to seat us at 8:30pm)Their good was super fresh, 100% 🇹🇭 style, good spice level and overall much more delicious than Zaap. Would recommend highly!!If you are here would recommend the fish!! It was SO GOOD!!
Authentic with reasonable price!

Amazing authentic food. Friendly waiter.
Amazing food . Amazing staff great time.
It was a MN amazing. I have been there 4times and it always better each time
This place has a 0 hygiene rating. Eat here at your peril.
Tom yum koong easy to share with others on table, rice dishes also delicious. Really recommend the thai milk tea too! Seemed authentic.
The food wasn’t nice at all.!!! I don’t know who had left the previous reviews but I’ll tell ya right now,,,,,, they’re lying.! The meat was a funny colour and the flavours bled into each other, like they’d been stirred with the same ladle...! I wouldn’t recommend at all,,,, Our bill came to almost 100 pounds and wasn’t worth it.!! Do NOT recommend.!!
Best Thai food in the North East! Authentic and reasonable price!
Great Thai restaurant. Delicious food, great beers. Spacious tables, comfortable chairs
Probably the best and only authentic Thai restaurant in Newcastle. Highly recommended!
Authentic Thai food, highly recommend!I was craving for Thai food, and want to have smt authentic and spicy.. like REAL spicy. And this restaurant literally save my life.I ordered somtam, seafood spicy soup, and raw shrimp, they all tasted sooooo Thai! I could tell no different compare from street food in Thai tbh. So if youre Thai, you wont be disappointed or if youre looking for smt authentic and real, this is the place.
Amazing Thai food. Best in Newcastle!
Authentic n delicious Thai food. This place is my fave, love it.
Good taste. Stumbled by accident and was surprised such a good place was empty on a sat night. I wish the restaurant will have stir fried vegetables dishes on the menu.
Friendly staff..nice decor...food was "ok"..I had the pad gra Pao. .and there was a "lot" of lemon peel in there..and I mean a "lot"...good job I like lemons!
Phenomaonal authentic Thai food speedy service chilled environment and extremely good value for money will make this my regular go to
Great, authentic Thai food and a reasonable price.
Food was great! Had yum woon sen, tom yum sea bass, grilled squid and jungle curry, and every dish was awesome.
Do you know? I have absolutely no recollection of eating here. I probably did though. Ill have to go back and refresh my memory.
The restaurant in the basement is cosy and it can cope with large group. Quality of food and service is good, however, it might take a while for the food to come.
My first impression was not great as it was down a staircase and the restaurant was a little dark inside. However, once the food came i was happy as it tasted very good and was also a good sized portion.Very authentic taste too and good selection on the menu.My wife, who is Thai really enjoyed the food too and wants to go back again soon.
Price were quite high but the food there were super good and traditional. The raw prawn was one of the best in Newcastle and definitely a food you should try.Staff were really friendly and the menu was so flexible which you could choose variety of meat for you curry/fried rice/stir fry.
Authentic proper Thai food and taste.Look further the plain decor, youre here for the food, arent you?The best Thai place in town so far and they dont need to be place in Eldon...
This is largely authentic Thai/Isaan cuisine. Nothing like the chain Thai restaurants. Though there are dishes like the one photographed, there are dishes you may not be familiar with. It isnt particularly busy normally, but you will always be outnumbered by Thais in the restaurant. Follow the chilli ratings. Some 3 chilli rated dishes are pretty spicy. Main course are £9 to about £16,.
My family and I have been to Thailand on a yearly basis, the food is indeed authentic. Sumptuous and the portion is very generous. We simply love it.
Amazing Thai food and friendly staff! We live near The Siam Zaa and go there often and are. Food is authentic and service is excellent. A hidden gem on Waterloo Street :)
Great food for a great price. If you have a lot of guests, just ask for bowls and order a variety of things to share.
Delicious food, friendly and lovely staff, great venue. Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner!
Great seafood options, good quality, amazing service.also suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Better book in advance if going in a large group. The place is cash only
Excellent and quite authentic Thai cooking. Laab Moo as good as in Issan!Exemplary service.
Ate here tonight before concert at metro arena.Food was amazing, packed with flavour.Staff were very friendly and attentive to us and our children. Can not think of one fault. Thanks againWe will be back to eat here very soon.
Here visiting for a couple of weeks for work. Coming from Melbourne where Asian food is everywhere this was some of the best Thai Ive had in a while! I had a red curry and they didnt hold back on the spice. Will be back before I leave. Cash only.
Absolutely stunning thai food! It was very authentic and the taste ~heaven~. There is very spicy and very mild food, something for every taste! The most impressive dish was the tom yum seabass, very nice presentation and comes in a sea of perfectly spiced sauce. 10/10 would visit again! The outside could use a renewal, but dont let the looks fool you and try the food!
Was there on Friday . Have never eaten better Thai food . Everything delicious would recommend the sea bass if you like fish done in a tasty soya type sauce . Easy 5 stars for me for friendly atmosphere and quality . Many thanks will be back.
Food was fantastic, slightly more expensive than other similar restaurants, but I overlooked that due to taste, friendly staff, only minor down side was a group of drunken women trying to ask myself and my wife questions in thai whilst we were eating.
Food was good but we were the only people in the place at 11pm on a Friday night .. Dont know if thats good or bad
Ever since the day this place opened I try to be there at least once a week. The food is excellent and the chef is willing to go the extra mile to prepare something different! Thanks to the Grainger parking just opposite one can have a nice evening without worrying about parking.
This is the best Thai restaurant.
Tasty food , although not very well advertised. Plus prices could be better
Ive been to Siam Zaa for the fourth time and this is without a doubt the best Thai food in Newcastle. Freindly efficient staff. Highly recomended.
Food is amazing! Staff and service was excellent and friendly. Nice atmosphere as well. Will be going back for sure! Thank you
