Airy, contemporary space offering an all-day Mediterranean menu & views overlooking the river.
This is a great spot for any occasion. Plus when staying at the hotel. The staff is great the chef is fabulous. Highly recommend. The prices vs the amount of food is perfect.
A great place to have dinner by the river. We were seated outside, had happy hour drinks and appetizer first, then tried Arugula salad, chicken thighs and the burger. And had goat cheesecake as a dessert. All of them were delicious. Would love to revisit one day! If youre looking for a nice place to take your guests for a nice dinner, this is your place in Reno!
Margaritas were delicious and classic. We had the blackened salmon tostadas and they were a perfect bite.
They have no real vegan options. Even if a restaurant doesnt have an item on the menu thats vegan by default, waiters will usually offer suggestions for substitutions, but they couldnt even do that. Pretty surprising for a restaurant in this day and age to not have at least 1 solid vegan meal on the menu. Definitely wont be returning.
Wonderful atmosphere, we ate on the patio.Really good gourmet food. Very good drinks. I had the watermelon jalapeno one, it was AWESOME!
The most French toast ever served to human beings. All of the food here was on point and amazing! Great service and the patio is a fantastic place to experience the morning in Reno. I highly recommend it.
Great service and decent selection on the menu. I ordered the flat iron steak medium rare and it came out medium, but otherwise everything else was great.
Great view and GREAT bottomless mimosa price but service was really slow even though there many empty tables. Took an hour to get our food and then about 30min to get drinks. I ordered chilaquiles and they were delicious! Put birthday in reservation for 9 but there was no acknowledgment of it. I would come back but take into consideration timing of everything. Mimosas were great!
I think this was the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and they even had gluten free alternatives!! Definitely will be back the breakfast potatoes were amazing and it’s a very beautiful location
Excellent service. The food was perfect. Atmosphere was stellar. Can’t think of a single negative thing.
My wife and I joined them for happy hour. We enjoyed the house Carbernet and toured the happy hour appetizer menu. The bartenders provide excellent service and stayed on top of all of our needs.
Great cozy place for dinner. Friendly staff. The dishes are presented very nicely and were really tasty. The waitress missed our appetizer, apologized heavily and offered a free dessert. Dinner for two cost us about $100 which is quite reasonable for a place like this.
Stopped by in the afternoon for a few drinks. The bartender, Dan was amazing. He made the best Old Fashioneds & even went out of his way to ensure we had the large artisan ice cubes. He just really took care to ensure high quality. We also enjoyed chatting with him and hearing recommendations of local places to check out.All of the staff at The Renaissance really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable!
My husband and I had a date night out and away from the kids for the first time in over 3 years. We had a concert and chose to stay the night at Renaissance. We chose The Shore simply for convenience but I’m so glad we decided to eat here. We had one of the best meal experiences we have EVER had. First off, our server Nia was AMAZING. She was kind, GENUINE, and attentive without being invasive. Thank goodness we are locals because I will gladly go back just to have her service. On top of that the food was to die for. I have some current dietary restrictions and Nia helped us pick out the Gluten Free Laffa with Melitzano. Do not pass up the chance to try this!!!!! I had the Pan-Roasted Verlasso Salmon and was not disappointed. Every single bite was perfectly cooked and made me melt. I had the Verdi Venture cocktail with it. As someone who enjoys gin drinks fairly regularly, the flavors were perfect and not sweet (in a good way!). My husband had the T.S.R. Burger and while he expected a run of the mill burger, he was extremely impressed with everything from how perfectly the burger was cooked, to the flavors baked into the potato bun and the aioli as well. We will be going back to have this meal again.
Two stars, one for the view and one for the food. Im big on first impressions and the host/waiter we had the misfortune of having was not it. He was standing at the host booth, no hello, welcome, smile, greeting nothing. This is on a Tuesday at 2pm - the place was near empty. We ask if we could sit outside and he shrugged his shoulders and said sure, wherever and pushed 1 set of menus at us - dismissed. It took 10 minutes just to get us water and another 10 to ask if we wanted drinks. I asked for another copy of the menu so we didnt have to strain between the table and he said theres a printing shortage and walked off. 😤 For the pricebpaid for mediocre food, they should be able to afford printing menus. We ended up ordering about 5 appetizers that started staggering out 30 minutes later!! If we werent conversing and enjoying the weather, I would have flipped my lid.Shrimp cocktail was basic with a bite as the cocktail sauce had quite a bit of horseradish in it. Meatballs came with 2 balls and pita bread, the sauce was flavorful. On the fence about the fried ribs - it definitely has unexpected texture and flavor with the aioli sauce. Tzaiki and pita bread was basic. The chicken tacos were my favorite but definitely not worth the price or the poor interaction we had.
We chose this delicious restaurant for our post wedding lunch. They were so welcoming and generous! I had a delicious spinach and arugula salad and my new husband had the chicken sandwich. As a wedding gift the waiter comp our lunches and the manager gifted us a bottle of brut!!! We plan to come back and stay in this beautiful hotel for our anniversary! Thank you all for making our special day even more special.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary for a brunch on Tuesday. The drinks and food came out in a timely manner, however we were only there for about 35 minutes total because the server rushed us. As soon as we received our food, we got our check at the same time. I eat slower than my husband and he was finished with his food. Server came back in the middle of me eating and asked if I wanted a box to take my food to-go. I kindly said no thanks and as soon as I put my fork down, she snatched my plate. I was still eating... I have never experienced being rushed like this at any restaurant.. I was not done eating and the whole experience had us feeling uneasy. So uneasy that we decided to let it be and leave.. The food was good. But because of the service we will not be returning...
Easter Brunch was WAY over priced and even more disappointing was that the food was just ok, not a great selection of for $75/person and no alcohol was included unless you wanted to pay extra for all you can drink mimosas. For $75/person mimosas, bloody Marys should have been included plus house red and white wine. Will never go again.
This used to be one of my favorite hidden gems in Reno but, like most things, has fallen victim to the time we live in. Our server had trouble remembering we existed, blaming the kitchen staff for our thirty minute appetizer, and when we finally got food, it was no where near the quality the price point insinuated (the boar chop was small and tough, i dont recommend it). The bar is still great, but overall, the experience was a complete let down.
We went for breakfast and were very impressed by this restaurant. The food is amazing and something different from every other place here. The ambiance is nice and comfortable and the staff were all wonderful. Definitely suggest them and this will be a place we will be frequenting!
After a long day, I just wanted something great to eat but didn’t know exactly what….came to The Shore Room at the Renaissance and was waited on by ( NIA). She was very pleasant with a great smile, her recommendations were spot on. When you get a chance to come here and you will…. It’s going to be worth the trip.
Im not one to typically write a bad review because I understand how hard it is being in food service, but I have to mention this experience. To start, they have this new policy where all members have to be present before seating, otherwise any late members will not be seated afterwards. A little strict, but I can understand the reason.Next, it took about 45 minutes from the time our food order was placed to the time it arrived on the table. First, the chilaquiles is $17, but the portion was noticeably small for the cost. Second, most of the food was either noticeably overcooked and most of the items were notably cold on arrival (scrambled eggs, french toast, poached egg). The cherry on top was finding a hair in my gravy on my potatoes.Ive been here a few times before, and those previous visits were flawless. I gotta say, Im disappointed with the quality of food right now and I dont think I wanna come back.
I ordered the Humus, very flavorful and the bread was soft and easy to tear apart.Ill go back, for sure.
This place is so relaxed and comfortable. At the time I went there was no pressure. The expectation for camaraderie was small and simple, which for me was refreshing and vibrant. Im sure it gets busier later; however, I hit the early happy hour and my experience was tranquil.
The average plate is from $20-$40. Put the biggest steal in the city. They could charge double that. It is the best single bite I have had in Reno and I have lived here for 30 years. I recommend the octopus. It has a perfect crunch and it tender inside. I also recommend the pork shank. Omg good. Heavy spiced but not spicy. But it is Soo good
Amazing food, love how they had my lady friends favorite wine that got her loving melbec on their wine list..Great service very intimate atmosphere..
I got the Brioche French Toast, and it was delicious. Beautiful window seat overlooking the river. Great spot! So glad we stopped in
Great bar/restaurant with seating outside along the Truckee River. Breakfast is awesome. Bar menu is terrific. Im typically not a hotel/restaurant fan. This restaurant does not disappoint. It helps to have one of the best food/beverage managers in the entire industry on your team too. Michelle is a new addition from The Bay Club Renaissance in Walnut Creek where she rocked the restaurant and kitchen for many years. SHE is one of the reasons Im so loyal to the Marriott brand.
I had the flat iron steak, it was good but in my opinion not worth the menu price. The brownie for dessert was fantastic, the house made ice cream is amazing and the brownie itself is super rich. I only ate half of it because it was so sweet but definitely took the left overs for later
For starters we waited almost an hour for bacon, eggs, pancakes. Not busy. We watched a couple come, eat, and leave, while we were waiting for our breakfast. We both had bottomless mimosa. When we got our second mimosa, they were in dirty glasses. Waitress assured us that they were our own glasses, but she also had someone elses dirty glass in her hand. Covid or not, thats dirty. Wait until you see their idea of "thick cut bacon" (well you can see the pic.My potatoes were not breakfast potatoes like I saw in the pictures we saw when we googled the place. They were French fries. We eat somewhere new weekly. This was a real thumbs down for us.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Another Reno gem! The menu selections are balanced from breakfast to dinner, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Most importantly (in my humble opinionthe food is amazing, to say the least; visually appealing and very, very flavorful. Needless to say, The Shore is well worth a visit (or more).
Very cute outdoor seating atmosphere, with view of the river. The chicken fried steak is delicious and a huge breakfast. The corn beef hash is also good. Latte and cappuccino is whatever, if youre into specialty coffee. Wouldnt pay $5 for a cup here and just get coffee somewhere else after (would be amazing if they can work on the latte art and make their drinks stronger). Service was great. Very very convenient if youre staying at the Marriott and amazing if you get free breakfast for being a platinum(?and above member.
The view is the best part of the restaurant! The coffee was very good. The food wasnt anything special and we went for brunch. The potatoes could have used more seasoning and the eggs benedict hollandaise and muffin could be improved. Sadly it took 10 minutes to get an umbrella for our table in the sun.
Came for happy hour/a light dinner and was very impressed! The blacked salmon tostada was our favorite, we ended up ordering it twice because it was so good. The grilled octopus salad was also delicious. The scallop appetizer was good but for $18 we wanted 3-4 scallops instead of 2. Happy hour drinks we’re just okay, once you start paying full price for the cocktails they definitely pay more attention to detail. Waiter was very nice. We wished we could have sat outside, apparently the patio doesn’t open until May. Overall a great experience.
Barry, Sergio and Ashley are just the Best, please be sure you are sitting close to the kitchen and just go to the bottomless mimosas and live your best life! Sunday funday and Saturday are the best!!! College kids can ruin your vibe but it’s ok, we are ok!
You cannot go wrong with JUMBO shrimp cocktail at this location. The cocktail sauce had a perfect kick of horseradish mixed in.If you like Eggs Benedict then you’ll love the smoked salmon edition. The best SSEB I have had!The coffee was a great compliment as well.
Highly recommend this restaurant as our waiter Jo was absolutely amazing, and same with the food. We ordered scallops and lamb rack lollipops as an appetizer and asked for them to be medium well, and they were a little too charcoal leaving a bad after taste. We did let Jo know that way our entrees wouldnt come out the same and those came out perfect.
Wow, This place was beyond our expectation! Highly, highly recommend for brunch. We were staying at Renaissance and this place was actually the only brunch place available on Christmas morning. We got gravy&biscuit, salmon Benedict, and french toast and all three dish were sooooo delicious. Not to mention that the service was great, it’s also dog friendly.
Lovely decor. Wasnt expecting something as upscale as this. The appetizer Laffa with Skordalia was delicious. The flat iron steak with garlic mashed potatoes was amazing. Was a little let down after two such wonderful dishes by the apple galette. The puff pastry seemed a little overcooked and put a poor flavor to the apples. When I got to the center where it was just the gelato and apples it tasted great. Little pricy of an establishment but great service. And the entree was well worth the price.
Beautiful, sunny afternoon -- where would you like to go? How about The Shore Room. We can sit outside and watch the water while sipping a fine Rose and enjoying some healthy Mediterranean food! YES!We were seated in Ashleys area. My lunch companion was a few minutes late and I was seated, with a glass of wine and just about to order some appetizers when she arrived. She had the crispy chicken sandwich - and I had a salad with a crispy, delicious piece of salmon on top. We shared the flat bread with the garlicy dip and chatted the afternoon away.Food was wonderful. Service was top notch. Why dont more people come here? Free parking - or Valet.Great food with a fun staff. You should come here!!
Hands down the most favorable small eats Ive had in some time. My only complaint is the scallops, although complimented very well with great flavors, could have used just a pinch of salt and pepper. But overall, 4.99🌟s
The best eggs Benedict I have ever had, I great views, great service. French toast was to die for. Great for Sunday Brunch.
The best rib eye Ive ever had! Oh! The fries were also amazing! Everything was amazing!
We had an excellent dinner here all around. I had the Greek salad with a small plate Greek meatballs. The salad seemed small, but I was mistaken, it was quite filling. The flatiron steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken thighs on a bed of mixed vegetables had an excellent sauce and the vegetables were cooked perfectly.
Everything was excellent. The food was flavorful, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the drinks were delicious. There wasnt a detail missed in the entire place, right down to the pleasant scent of the building.
Amazing bar staff and great local beer selection. I love the mood of this place.Yesterday I had the fish tacos, and they were to die for!
The place is very sophisticated. Large windows with view to the Truckee river and part of downtown. Modern bar with cool bottle/glasses display. Friendly staff. The food took a little long to come. Food and drink didnt really impress but not too bad. Took us (2pplalmost 2h to do lunch. Restaurant wasnt busy around 1pm, on Wednesday. Our bill was $39, (pics).
Theres a difference between eating and dining. This place is for people who want to dine. Small but attractive portions. High prices. Roasted salmon was intentionally not cooked through. Service was good. Atmosphere includes dim lighting and the river right out the window. Its good overall-- probably great for diners-- but as someone who likes to eat this wasnt really my thing.
This review is for Pips Pass in The Shore Room. There are a total of 8 seats at the Chefs counter and they offer 1 seating a night on Fridays and Saturdays. Each night offers a multi-course dinner with optional wine pairings. The menu changes frequently to bring in seasonal ingredients. As a guest, you get to interact with the chef, and all of the staff. The food was amazing from start to finish. The wine pairings were unique, and we were guided through each course. Go in with an open mind and enjoy the ride. Trust that you are in good hands that want you to have a special experience. We already have reservations to go back again!
I had a phenomenal meal and got to sit at the kitchen bar to watch all the action as the meals get prepared. The Greek salad was more like a vegetable festival for the taste buds! I loved it!I had the gnocchi, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Not easy if you have ever tried to prepare them. Overall a fantastic meal!
