Karl Johans gate 17, 0159 Oslo, Norway, Oslo
Dark wood, 4-story pub with bar menu, big screen live sports & weekend, late-night DJs.
Lost a star due to terrible service from one barman. Other staff were excellent and food was nice
The worst bar I have ever been in, the staff are horrible. The barman was lucky I didnt punch him the way he treated my wife.
Good little pub, nice ambince, good service. In a central location on Karl Johans Gate.
I thought it was some kind of tourist trap, but in fact it was a great place! 😊👍
Nice, always better if będę is 0.6 than 0.5:)
The beer was fresh and the fish and Chips was really good.
Bartender was quick and friendly. Patio was good for people watching.
Was over in Norway with my eldest son for my younger sons wedding. A day out in Oslo was amazing..We went into the Scotsman & thought how authentic it was inside. The service from the staff was great, they were friendly, toilets reasonable, could have had a little more care & attention but very usable. We enjoyed it & stayed for a couple more beers before we left to carry on our sightseeing trip. Would go back again..
Good food, beer, and staff. A lot of great atmosphere.
Great vibe and karaoke. Would give five stars if my feet didnt stick to the floor so strongly it literally pulls my shoes off 😆 Do they ever mop upstairs?
As I eat in this HIGHLY disappointing restaurant, I will review it in Google and Tripadvisor. Lets begin with the basics - half the draft taps are dry! No fish and chips. Unfriendly bar staff, I wanted to see other beer options that are way behind the bar and I cannot see. Now, the meal, why bring the appetizer and dinner out at the same time? The steak is fatty, the salad is tasteless, and fries are cold! The appetizer is passable. This is bar to avoid. If you are in your 20s and want to get drunk, go for it. Anyone else, avoid it! Poor staff, poor management, and poor execution.
Was enjoying the karaoke but they kicked me out for no reason "appearing drunk" after two beers because I was dancing?!?!Beware ladies!!! Dont dance!!!!!Totally sober and now I will not come back to Norway or go out again. Now I have a bad impression of this country.... There were very drunk guys in this bar so I dont know why they picked me to kick out when I did nothing.
A fantastic ambience with friendly staff. Great bar for live and intimate band performance. Perfectly located in the City Center of Oslo
A friendly pub, centrally located, nicely decorated, with friendly staff and good food
A pub with long tradition in Oslo. If you want to meet with people from the northern part of Norway, this is the place to go. Despite long tradition the atmosphere is perhaps not the best. Theres a few outdoor tables right next to the main street in Oslo so its a good place to grab a soothing beer and watch people passing by.
Very Nice bar, but soooooo expencive🍺.. 😮😧
As expected. Good beer and good music 🙂 Everything (almosta man need😁
Good trinks nice food very good
Must see bar to visit in Oslo. Drinks are perfect and much better to enjoy than food.
Nice vibes and staff. Would recommend if visiting Oslo!
Very good place with pool tables and live music and the atmosphere is fun and the place was crowded on weekends
Very nice place. Great Guiness and live music😊👌
The bar is in a great location. If I was served a pint of guiness half full of foam like that in Scotland or Ireland there would be a riot.
Nice staff and atmosphere.. lots of nice quiet corners to sit and catch up with friends. Comfortable and nice seating outside 👌
Average considering everything! Burgers are small, you better order two if youre really hungry.Recommend: noWill I go there again: noBased on one visit.
Top Location in Oslo
Crowded place but good place to have fun to those who love karaoke and dancing.
Strong beer. Stronger than in Czech even it has the same Pilsner beer.
Nice place for sports and especially to watch Man Utd football. The Second floor is the Red Armys bar. Lots of screens and Man Utd decorations. The food, type burgers, are really good. I retract a star as they serve Irish coffee with canned cream on top.
Nice atmosphere, there are TVs inside and You can watch football or other things while enjoying with glass of good beer 😊
Extremely rude service , me and my partner had 2 drinks here and we were kicked out as my partner was deemed ‘too drunk’ to come inside and use the bathroom (he was sober). Completely unreasonable and impolite service that rendered us totally stunned and confused . Wouldn’t recommend to anyone
Great service, great food, tasty beer!
Really nice pub and really friendly staff!I ordered the skagen toast it was amazing! My only dissapointment was that my friend ordered his skagen toast 30min after me, and it really looked like he had a bigger portion (larger slize of bread and more skagen). The plating was different also. I mean I know im paying 180 and im in Oslo, but comeon at least give me same portion as my friend mate :))))
One of the oldest brown pubs in Oslo City if not the oldest. You have two or three floors where you can mingle with people. A lot of TV s to watch sports mostly football I would say. Huge variety of beers and a good food menu. Visit this place please. Enjoy the stay and drink a beer for me 👊
Good food (I had the fish and chipsand cosy pub. Enjoyed watching the football here and chilling out after a long day sightseeing. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is the bar staff need to learn how to pour a Guinness (see pic)
Nice pub...fish n chips are good. Remoulade and pickled onions are way too sweet. Obviously done to suite the Scandinavian taste buds... Maybe be a bit more bold and do fish n chips the right way? After all it says "the Scotsman" not the "Scandinavian". Slight lake of boldness in terms of identity but all in all a decent pub.
Nice Scottish style pub. Tasty food, very quick service and friendly staff.
Very nice. Very good life music. Very good people. I felt really comfortable. BUTI did not like that the waitress took my glass from the table with out asking me and it was not empty!!!! I WAS SPEACHLESS. The secong glass was alwais on my hand!!! . She trayed to take it again. I got mad. She shoul ask and wait. Nex time i will complain to the manager
Nice pub, friendly staff. Burger was good and gin and tonic also :)
Friendly staff, excellent location, a wide variety of drinks, ales, beer and spirit also good food on options too. Authentic pub design. Excellent overall !
The food was absolutely delicious! The staff super nice, and the place itself really cozy. Possible sitting outside - heat lamps
I have been there already several times when I was on business trip in Oslo. It is the perfect location to drink some beers 🍺 / also other drinks and listen to music or live band.Of course when there is a football game they show it on many screens. The bar has two floors and an outside terrace where you can smoke. The Barkeeper and Security at the front door is always friendly. One tip: play shuffle board. Funny game and not expensive.
Inwas inOslonfor world and was looking for a place to watch Celtic FC play Hearts in Scottish Premier League game and say this place and gave it a try.The Scotsman is well done with atmosphere and ambiance. Good mix of locals and tourists alike.Feel like youre in a Scottish pub. Good quick service.
The pub is a great place for a pint of Guinness, but the chicken wings are only the drums not tips.
Very happy place with live music, the only place tha were occupied with people around 23
When we are in Oslo we always visit it. A nice choice of beer, especially, dark which I am a fun.
20% off for Oslo pass - decent fish and chips for the British traveller - the Christmas bellied pork was also on point. - caution beer is £10 a pint but pretty standard for Oslo. But this is a nice warm cosy homely atmosphere, with classic British taste. Recommended.
Dumped in to the Scotsman right in the middle of the last game in the 2018 World Championship of Chess :-The whole bar applauded when Magnus Carlsen won and defended his title! Nice place, ample seating, very good beer selection, including Norwegian as well as international specialty beers. I look forward to my next visit... wonder what sports will be on the big screens then?
As with all other reviews for the Scotsman the venue is really good, the beer options are great and the staff were nice enough however the Hamburger we both ordered came out very undercooked (yes both burgersand left both of us feeling unwell at the realisation wed gotten into it before noticing and is sole reason for the low rating. Costs alot, at least cook it.
The waiter is rude and indifferent. The service make people feel so angry, that they havent any mood and appetite to eat the food. The food is also mediocre. They put too much pepper in the burger meat, just aim to cover up the bad quality of the meat. But actually it mackes the meat become more disgusting.
