The Sayville Inn in Sayville

Was there tonight, walked in tonight it was packed. I was there before and it was amazing. I forgot that there kettle is fake. Ordered 2 kettle martinis and bartender needed a new bottle and walked in kitchen and came out with a bottle already open. Was waiting for a table of 2. Was told it was a 35 minute wait. It was an hour before I gave up and left. Customers that were there after me were seated. I went up to hostess stand a few times to be lied to. Face of business should not be the hostesses or the bartenders who were shy and timid and inexperienced.

Im always looking for different places to take my friends for lunch. This month, I chose the Sayville Inn because of its interesting history on their website. What a pleasant surprise. Its a wonderful place with such good, caring people. Excellent food, friendly service and reasonable prices! Thank you, Karl and staff for a great afternoon! Well be back.

My son and I both had the coconut shrimp with the corn salad, both were great.

We were looking for a cool classic place to eat. Decided to sit at the bar - excellent choice. Bartender recommended tasty local beverages and a few things on menu. Chose flounder sandwich, clam chowder, peel/eat shrimp. All were delicious. EXACTLY the experience we hoped for. Thanks Sayville Inn.

This is the perfect spot for happy hour! The bartenders are very friendly and always chat with us. The drinks are good, but the food is excellent. I might be biased because I love bar food, but theirs is some of the best! They always have new specials to try, but I definitely recommend the buffalo wings/shrimp, fried calamari, and crab cakes.

Carl and his one waitstaff that attended us were both exceptional in their making my husband’s and my family comfortable with dining. It was a perfect venue and private as well with our own bathroom and enclosed patio for kids to play. I was planning this event for months in advance from where I live in VA now and Carl assured me of precautions and availability of proper space. He even provided two vases for the two bouquet of flowers my mother in law and I received. I am so happyI chose the Sayeville Inn. Food was american fare nothing exceptional, mozzarella sticks were tasty!

Low key atmosphere with a nice friendly staff. The salmon taco was delicious!

Hosted my daughters birthday party in the cottage in the back . Everything was absolutely perfect from planning the party to the actual day of. Booking the party with Carl was great and he was super accommodating. He was able to do everything I asked for and more to make my daughters day special. I couldn’t recommend this local gem more. I know me and my guests will definitely be returning for dinner and future party’s. Thank you so much Carl and the Sayville Inn.

We went here for a wedding and it was great! It’s a blast from the past on the inside and the food is good.

Fall is holding the warmth of Summer with a perfect Sunday for watching the game or having an afternoon lunch. The speciality cocktail, a Cinnamon Whiskey Sour was fabulous- cool and refreshing. The outdoor seating was generous and worked well. Service was friendly and fine. A long time restaurant that continues to serve well.

Absolutely loved this place! We had a small luncheon in the Cottage and everything was perfect! Great service, great food, and a private patio! Ill definitely be back!

Food was ok but I felt like I was bothering the wait staff and I was asking a lot for the basics. Not impressed.

I went there for dinner. While sitting at the bar waiting for my date, I had a Guinness and was overcome with how noisy it was. I could not hear myself think. I called my friend, left my unfinished brew and went to another restaurant nearby. The place is a laid back. It is not big. The menu was good. I will try it again and review during a lunch session to be fair. Enough parking.

Staff was friendly. Went for my husbands 40th during restaurant week. Made a reservation and had the table set up when we arrived. Disappointed no candle in his dessert though

The Sayville Inn is the quintessential local place. The owners and staff are very friendly, the food is good and the atmosphere is lively and fun.

We go here almost once a week! The burgers are great and there’s tons of vegetarian options! Love the “Sayville Sauce”, nachos, waffle fries and decent beer selections. The apple crisp dessert is our favorite! The waitresses are always polite and the management staff is super friendly.

Had the scallop, rice and corn salad special. It certainly was. The corn salad was excellent. The rice was a bit over cooked . The scallops were mostly cooked well. Some were over cooked and sandy but , you know seafood. There was an abundance of them however, 8. Then had riverboat pie for dessert. Coffee ice cream with chocolate crust. It was fine. Nothing to rave about one way or the other. The hostess Emily , was nice and personable. The wife had steak taco, which she thought was excellent. It was a little on the spicy side though. Also had a caramel martini which she liked. The service was good.

I was thoroughly satisfied with every aspect of this restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is family friendly. I thought the food was great. Will definitely visit again and will tell my family and friends about it.

The Disco fries, Wow so good! Thats where the good part ends. The rest if the food was good but not as special. Sorry, but the family friendly atmosphere was way too loud. We could barely hear each other. Snobby patrons on either side of us ruined it for us and the service was so so.

An unremarkable experience. Six meals were ordered. The fried chicken special was poorly done. The crust tasted like soggy corn flakes. The chicken was dry. Cole slaw was spicy and the string fires were not worth eating. The two bergers that were ordered were at ok as was the tacos. The kids meals were ok.

We love this place. My husbands favorite place to eat. Stopped in for a gift certificate and decided to stay for lunch. We had their burgers, Middle of the Road Burger and Tusan Burger. Both were cooked to perfection. My husband rarely finish a meal, He finished burger and salad.

Its a popular place in the evenings. Food is good, family atmosphere and friendly service. Nice place to stop after a round of golf.

All I can say is it was wonderful. We celebrated my mothers 80th Birthday there. The Staff was awsome, everyone in our party commented on it. I made my reservations with Carl. He called to follow up and did everything he could to make the night perfect, and it was. The food was awesome. Everyone in the party was happy with their meal. We were happy with the prices. Great for a party or just dinner. Everyone was so nice and no one rushed us.

Great, warm atmosphere! Justin tending bar Saturday afternoons and nights...the best! Tom is terrific on Fridays too. Delicious food...fish tacos to die for. Carl the owner runs a great establishment!

Great place to grab a sandwich or burger. They also have entrees for a bigger meal. Service is very good and friendly too.

Probably one of the best burgers Ive ever had. Beer selection isnt great but at least there are a few choices. Service is wonderful too.

My wife and I went for dinner and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. We had a couple of the specials listed on the wall with the prices shown. The prices were very reasonable and to our surprise the food was great and exceeded our expectations. This restaurant made our short list.

Great pub food..more upscale than your typical pub fare...burgers are my favorite there...on an English muffin with crinkle cut fries... awesome..Mussels are great too...ask for Buffalo style ...its not in the menu but they will whip it up!!

Overall terrible experience. I went there with my family for dinner, crammed into a tiny spot, uncomfortably close to other guests eating. The service was horrible: extremely slow and the waitress was not very friendly or accommodating. The worst part about it was the food, every member of my family was completely dissatisfied with their meal. Bland, tasteless, with no flavor. I got the margarita pizza appitizer which was not even close to what a margarita pizza is supposed to be. No sauce, just chopped tomatoes and balsamic dressing on a stale pita... absolutely horrible. Terrible wine selection as well. Service was painfully slow and the food was way too expensive for the quality of it. My whole family was very unhappy when we left and felt like we had been cheated... will never go back here again. I dont usually write reviews for anything, and I have never written a bad review for a restaurant before because I usually cant be bothered, but I just was so upset with this place that I had to voice my opinion to warn others not to go here.

I first came here with Maureen Becker in 1965 when it was The Lamplighters Inn. It was my first dinner date- suit, tie, and dancing to live music. Today we celebrate our "52nd" anniversary - still in love in the same spot...❤️

Burgers and apps are bland and not worth the price. Service was absolutely awful, place was positively packed. 2 waitresses spilled drinks all over guests and our food came out cold. What a mess.

Every time my husband and I go to Sayville Inn, with or without a reservation, we are shoved into a tiny space between other diners. Sooo close...its uncomfortably close. Kind of like having dinner with strangers. We even brought one our daughters out on date night just to get a booth and we were told we would be shoved between diners yet AGAIN. The food is mediocre at best so I dont see the the uncomfortable seating arrangements are worth going there. Last weekend we decided to take our business else where. We went to Cafe Joelle and the seating was great...the food was great and the service was great. So these long time Sayville residents will be going there instead. 😃

Wow- what a change since the new ownership. Menu was great, food fresh and delicious, and service personable and attentive. I asked for something special off the menu and, not only did he not mind, our waiter made great suggestions to go with it. So excited to have yet another great restaurant in our little town. Will definitely be back.

Under new ownership since it closed 2014. Great neighborhood bar and restaurant. French dip Flatbread sandwich was excellent. Friendly staff.
