90 St Martin's Ln, Covent Garden, London WC2N 4AP, Salisbury
Victorian pub on former prize-fighting site with original etched glass and carved mahogany.
A decent pub with beautiful glass windows. Its worth visiting just to see the decorations inside.
Nice environment, place was busy so had to go to the bar to get your drinks.
The Salisbury Pub is located in the heart of the theater district on St. Martin’s Lane in Coventry Garden not far from Trafalgar Square. It was opened in the late 1800’s and is one of the most beautiful Victorian pubs in London. This historic pub is on the historical national importance pub list due to it’s quality and opulent etched glass mirrors and gorgeous carved bar. This pub is a great place to grab a pint of beer and visit with the locals. It was very crowded and lively when we were there around six in the evening so we grabbed a seat outside and people watched. The bartenders are professional, polite, quick and attentive. Love this place!
Always reliable with a very decent selection of hand pulled beers. A cut above the average for a Greene King.
Great experience! The waiter help me a lot to choose the drink and about the food.Everything was great, and the pub has a great decoration. So glad we found this place :)
Superb characterful interior and well served list of beer, wines & cocktails on the menu. An authetic and upbeat West End atmosphere is well maintained by the owners and staff. Always a pleasure.
As a Londoner, Im surprised at how good this pub is given its central location. Excellent! Great staff. Wonderful old gin palace interior. Great selection of drinks. Didnt try the food but it all looked top notch
Lovely sparkly real pub. Good drinks prices and hardworking staff. Would definitely go again
Great Atmosphere, impressed with the many Tap Beers. Camden IPA delicious.
Good bear but not very good food. Had the large fish and chips which was only like warm and over cooked. Curry sauce was cold as if it had only just come out of the fridge. Go in for a pint though the bear is great.
Very nice atmosphere. Got the possibility to taste the beers before my order. I will come back!
Great atmosphere.. good location near theatres.. a must see
The place is well-decorated, its a nice place to have a drink but probably it is not the best one to have a lunch or a dinner. It is not the best food in London, the beer is good, and the service could improve a bit
Very beautiful pub. Enjoyed our visit a lot! Great beer selection, food came fast enough and it was tasty. We got fish and chips and steak pie, both were delictious. Staff really helpfull and friendly. Would definitely recomend visiting if you around Covent Garden area.
Nice atmosphere just dont eat. Seasoned chips with no seasoning (not even saltand apparently seasonal greens is a bowl of cabbage refer attached!!!). Burger was basic with no frills. In saying that it was a good atmosphere if you want a pint.
Lovely pub in the centre of London. Wide ranging food menu and drinks to suit most palates. Will visit again.
Good atmosphere and bar staff. Prices are reasonable and good location especially if you want to go to a club or another bar.
Best pub in west end. The pub has a very good variety of draft beers and even a new weissber from Germany. The Salisbury is great to have pre and post theatre drinks thanks to it’s location. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. All in all best pub in central London.
This review is for the food only. The bar lady was excellent as was the cider.Scampi and chips for £12.29The scampi was cold and the portion of chips was a very small and under cooked. Chips looked nice but we’re soggy and soft. Shame as the food in this place used to be excellent. Feeling ripped off and conned. Will not be back again. Left my meal and no mention by staff if something was wrong with the meal as I left most of it. Now in another pub eating a lovely portion of fish and chips.
Great pub, lovely traditional interior, nice choice of drinks. We had bar snacks but food was really good. Friendly bar staff, brought our drinks to the table when we were eating
What an incredible pub! Great lively atmosphere, delicious food and beer. Sexy bartenders!!!
Lovely pub, so quirky with lots of traditional accents. Highly recommended for a quick pint before theatre!
The food was nice but cold on arrival. Its an overpriced, outbreak of poisoning waiting to happen. Had just as nice in a (good forbidWitherspoons, but warmer.
Edwardian era pub in Covent Garden. Nice ambiance, good beer selection on tap. Pub food menu. Had the fish and chips. Large piece of fish excellent chips. Recommended.
Really tasty fish & chips and delicious pint of Guinness with kind service. Little bit noisy pub.
Beautiful old pub with an interesting history, ordered via the app and food and drinks arrived quickly even though the pub was quite full. Standard pub food with a good selection of sharing options. Clean toilets.
Barman was lost, big queues. Staff didnt care about empty glasses being everywhere. After bell and lights up still people were entering pub and same time we were suggested to leave as they closing.
Locals singing songs, nice pints, and a sample platter of the best offerings = fun times. Also, its location lends itself to more exploration of the city.
Lovely pub but staff werent so hot at service, serving others before those who had been waiting longer!
Lovely staff member I chatted to for a while after shed realised no one else was serving me, food was ok, but took a very long time to get served even though many staff walked past me, not that it was busy, and you cant really miss me. Came in a few days in a row and was better served the next time
Lovely pub! I loved the interior and as the staff told me, its all preserved from the 19th century, so its really impressive to sit there. They were quick and helpful in making my choice. I was served by Simon, who I thank for the narration and choice of drink.
Living in London for a year now and visited many different pubs here. However, this one is special. The interior and the range of ales and beers is big. The service provided here is super friendly which is unlikely in other places. The bartender, Simon who works in this pub was very friendly and professional. He helped to choose the best ale according to my preferences and taste. He told me the story of the pub and its founders which I found really fascinating. Overall, great service and nice beers and ales.
Good for food and drinks! Enjoyed our time , very friendly service and helpful staff. Plus pub is spectacular!
I like this old and fashion pub in the heart of London where you can breath the air of all England. Well furnished with the finest beers, and the right place where you can eat the best fish and cheeps.
Nice traditional pub. Friendly and helpful bar staff. We sat outside and there was an overhead heater. Really reasonable prices and excellent selection of drinks. We always visit when we are in the area. Definitely recommend it.
Decent assortment of beers to choose from and we ordered the traditional steak and ale pie which was delicious. Pub is outdated but that’s expected in terms of ambiance. Service was slow and there was no at table service (order from the bar or you’ll be waiting a while!).
Great Classic boozer, lovely selection of brews, good vibes. A suspicious amount of smiley, drop dead gorgeous ladies, they seem very friendly! Hold on, it seems they may be ladies of the night. Great all round!
Great pub right in the middle of the theatre district and Leicester Square. Friendly staff and great drink offering. Old school English pub, well worth a stop!
Obviously living in 21st century this pub hangs on to traditional London. Mirrors & glass everywhere. Brilliant atmosphere, huge selection of Whisky. Would have loved to spend longer!Update January 22. Still love this place. Full of atmosphere, great service and a lovely evening in The Whisky Room!
Nestled on the corner of St Martins Lane and St Martins Court this famous Old pub is a well preserved relic of Victorian life, packed full of history. Call in for a beer! The mahogany bar and cut glass windows and panels are magnificent. What makes any venue is the people and the staff here are terrific; so kind, so helpful. We had a Festive buffet lunch for 7 in The Whisky Room. The food was good and there was a wonderful atmosphere in the whole place. Not so easy for wheelchairs everywhere in the pub but possible. The loos are in the basement via step narrow stairs. The whole place is fun and reasonably priced for theatreland. Thank you staff of The Salisbury we had a great time.
Visited at Christmas, really lovely atmospheric pub. Didnt stay for a meal but the menu looked great.
An amazing pub I would visit it again when I go to LondonI tried fish and chips and it’s very delicious 🤤
Just stopped for a quick drink and something to eat as was passing. Sat outside, quick service and food great, we had the shared platter
Amazing pub,the staff is very friendly, the food was great and the service very good.
A historical pub not far from Leicester square, the interior have a really vintage look, and they bring you back in the years, they have a large selection of drink. The staff is really fast and helpful. Even if the place is already big there are a lot of big mirror and they make the area even bigger. There are plenty sitting place and even a second floor. There are other pubs in the area, but this one defenetly put the level on a extra step. I didnt try the food on the day but definitely when I will have the opportunity I will go back here.
Rarely can you beat a pint of Timothy Taylors and The Salisbury is a great place to start a few beers in London. Tucked down the lane behind The Wyndham Theatre, its easy to get to and with a great interior full of character. Pleasant staff and many corners to maintain a good atmosphere even when busy.
this pub has not just real atmosphere of real British but, but also amazing beautiful interior! Feel as if you are having a pint of real cask ale on royal premises. Great location, nice stuff - you wont regret visiting it
Stopped in here for a snack & drink while out walking around London showing a friend the sites. The pub is just off the main street and a nice spot for a break. It was much bigger inside than l originally thought.
The food was great and the service very good. It was very busy - late lunch on a Friday - and the staff did their best although I had to ask to have them wipe our table. Good range of ales and a good "pub grub" menu.
One of the best looking pubs ive ever been in. A great traditionl British pub. Great selection of beer. The staff were so friendly and chatty. We only popped in for a quick drink on our way back to the hotel so we didnt try the food. We loved it and next time we are in London im sure that we will pop in.
