Windsor Rd, Egham TW20 0AG, Ati
Off the London Orbital Motorway, this modern hotel on the banks of the Thames River is 3 miles from Thorpe Park Resort and 5 miles from Windsor Castle. The trendy rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, tea and coffeemaking facilities and minibars. Duplex rooms provide a second bedroom and a separate entrance to the garden and riverbank. The hotel offers a choice of 3 restaurants serving either buffet meals, causal dining or lighter fare. Other amenities include both an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a spa, a gym and tennis courts. There's also a business centre and 13 meeting rooms. Parking and boat mooring are available.
Amazing hotel. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Had a river view which was very calming and beautiful. Evening buffet had lots of choice and staff were very attentive and polite. Celebrating my Birthday and was surprised by a dessert and Birthday candle, lovely touch. Good quality breakfast. Will definitely stay again
I popped by to visit a friend who was staying there. Made use of the bar and restaurant. The staff were rude and unprofessional. As soon as 6pm came, I was asked to leave by the rudest of staff members. Quite frankly it was just an awful place to meet and relax.I do question all these positive reviews, seems a little suspicious to me.I certainly will not be visiting again, my friend said pretty much the same too.
Staff are just the best, great team and the managers really know their stuff, I have just held a function for Herschel Lodge without a single complaint from any of the 95 attendees which speaks for itself.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Runnymede. It was super clean, the facilities were excellent and the staff were really lovely. They even left a sweet little treat for me in my room along with a birthday card! Very thoughtful.Nonetheless in the future Id steer clear of ordering any room service as the quality of the food was absolutely unbelievably abysmal. It was so bad that we called to complain and asked for them to make it again but it was still horrible and inedible!5 stars for the room, spa, staff and breakfast. 0 stars for room service!
The perfect balance of excellent service without being stuffy. From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out I felt welcome and well looked after. A fabulous breakfast too with brilliant, attentive service.
Overall the experience was good. But I consider this hotel overpriced for what they offer. Not to mention the huge spider that came into the room when the window was open. Someone needs to clean the outside parts of the building and the windows and I dont mean just the glass but around the windows too. This country needs to pay a lot more of attention to that. Plus, the smoking shelter is meant to be for people smoking there and not the spiders. It is all covered on spiders web.
This place used to be a well established family orientated restaurant. The Leftbank buffet style restaurant, a particular highlight. However, with new ownership, the restaurant has changed the rules and become a shadow of what it once was. Such a shame!
Very poor performance having travelled 6000miles for a reunion lunch and to be told that the dining room is off limits as it is only for corporate clients. It remained half empty from noon to 2 pm. Fortunately the situation was retrieved by a helpful member of stall who got us outside service on the terrace. There is confusion amongst staff as to whether you should pay up front or later. We were billed both ways for the first second and third courses as well as coffee.
Went to the hotel for a belated 40th gift for a spa day experience. Staff friendly & can’t fault that but it’s definitely not a spa. It’s a nice hotel with leisure facilities. Paying for a spa experience from 10am - 2pm which involves lying by a pool listening to a very loud 45 minutes aqua aerobics class is not at all relaxing. Builders walking in and out to repair the men’s changing rooms is also not what I would describe as a relaxing, chill out day.The therapist was lovely & gave a really good treatment but I left immediately after as I didn’t feel there was any point going back in to use the facilities. The regular members are obviously all looked after really well and greeted nicely by all the staff so perhaps a great place to get gym membership. Not trying to bash a lovely hotel but I would not recommend this as a spa day location but more a nice place for lunch and a treatment.
The main thing about this hotel is the location. Perfect for that evening or morning walk down the river, past the docks and into the park. Beautiful area but for the price, services were lacking just a tad.
We had a very enjoyable two night stay at this excellent venue, just a few miles from Windsor. The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms comfortable nicely decorated and the facilities and spa were available should we have wanted them. Our only complaint was the evening meal we had on our first night. It was a very average and expensive buffet carvery. Whilst there was ample choice, I personally found the cuts of beef under cooked and tough and did not expect the chicken to be in lumps rather than slices. I also find it hard to understand how the hotel can add a service charge to an already expensive meal when the customer has to serve themselves.I toyed with giving a four star rating but overall I cannot really complain, apart from that one meal.
Comfortable and spacious rooms, kind staff and very good breakfast. Close to Wenthworth Golf club, around 10/15 minutes by car and also close to Heathrow airport (around 10 minutes too)
A weekend away in a great location on the banks of the Thames. Wonderful walk along the river to the park.Staff were helpful and attentive even though there was a large wedding taking place while we were there.
We spent the weekend at Runnymede - and had a lovely time. The archery instructor was amazing! The service was personal and thoughtful and the pastry chef produced the best cakes we have ever tasted - A really outstanding baker!!
Rooms and other offerings were great. Be sure to book spa treatments well in advance, as we struggled to find anything a week prior to our booking, understandably. Also the dinner buffet was less than amazing, but the breakfasts were excellent with everything you could want. So maybe our dinner experience was a one off. Overall I would recommend and hope to visit again.
Great hotel with lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They helped me book a taxi, explained how to reduce the powerful air-con in my room and even gave me duck food when I went on a walk! I had an excellent facial in the spa and really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Thank you - I will be back again soon!
A burger that did not disappoint me with a well kept pint to wash it down whilst watching the boats go by! A Surrey summer evening, great !
4 of us came to the riverside restaurant yesterday. We sat on table 56 and had lunch. We were served by Rebeccah who was fairly new to the job, but she was most helpful and polite! Unfortunately we didnt leave a tip and we would like to pick her out for excellent service and praise. Please apologise to her and next time we visit which will be in October, we will recitfy this omission!
Nice place for a snack and a coffee. Service was good. Chloe was really attentive as were the other staff. Recommend the place
Although lobby chairs and beds are comfortable, the service is friendly and the breakfast is ok, the hotel needs to fix some very important issues to justify the price of 250 € per day and 4 stars. The rooms has a bad old smell, the flush doesnt work, rubbish in the drawer, dirty spoon, some corners in the bathroom are rotten or dirty (see pictures), the showerhead hangs to low so you cant stand and have the water run over your head, water doesnt drain properly and floods the bathrooms floor, room service takes two times longer than promised on the phone, inside the Spa the air is way too heavy. The hotel is situated right next to a highway which is very busy 24/7 and Heathrow Airport is very close. So you constantly hear the noise of the cars and starting airplanes.
It is a lovely hotel to stay at. The spa is very good. The food is also very good. Highlight is in the summer having a glass of wine outside overlooking the Thames.
Outdoor pool good. Rooms clean Bed comfortable. Breakfast great .Information re facilties and menu for food could have been clearer
Very pleasant and engaging hotel and restaurant, staff are very attentive and professional. Buffet was varied and catered for most taste. Overall a very nice evening was had by all.
Popped in to The Runnymede Hotel today for a meeting and was pleasantly surprised by all the outstanding customers service by all the care team!I was very impressed by how observant the exam members were offering me a chair when I stopped to say hello to the GM. Evening menu was good too.
The room was very small. Pool has a booking system and was fully booked so unable to use. The breakfast was ok however the service to clear the plates was slow. The process to check in and out was slow. The hotel is however set in a nice location.
Its okay but quite expensive - we had discount as we knew the couple getting married there... I did not like the shower, it gets super hot or super cold, hard to find the right spot... Also, the TV has no smart capabilities so you cant just stream things - it charges for movies lol
Scones for vegan afternoon tea were dry and solid really dreadful. For the non vegan afternoon tea Scones were good.Vegan cakes were all very sweet. I was disappointed. However my party enjoyed the day. Service was good and staff friendly.
So close to Heathrow airport, crazy lovely classic British set up. Room was a little small but everything was so comfy, staff was very cheery and helpful, restaurant is very satisfactory with a lovely view of the river. Overall, a great stay.
I recently stayed here overnight on a business trip but have had the opportunity to have drinks and food in their restaurant, lobby and outdoor area several times. It’s a great hotel right on the river . It’s lovely to sit outside and have a drink or a bite to eat. The rooms are great with nice amenities, comfortable bed and linens. The breakfast was as great with many options. The staff is all very nice.I will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.
The location is outstanding. But the room are outdated. They have no thermostat and the aircon wasnt working. The food wasnt great. All bland.
Came to have lunch here. Poor service and due to covid restrictions you can only use an app to choose food, buy drinks and pay due to covid restrictions. Our table had not been cleaned properly and service was non- existent. Pity as this could be a nice location.
Wish I could give it a zero star, the rooms are far from what a 4 star should be like, the premier inn or travel lodge are much better, the rooms are worth no more than £60 a night maximum! , the owners must be really greedy to make the rooms this small and cheap looking
Horrible Customer Service - had a spa session purchased for me with an expiry date and had lost the certificate - only to find it a few days before the expiration date. On the certificate it says , to redeem this voucher , call the number before the Expiry date - doesnt say that you have to actually have your appointment before the expiry date. I was met with a computer says no receptionist who claimed I am unable to book as they cant get me in before the expiry date and there was no flexibility even when I offered to purchase more business from the spa. Worse customer service I have ever seen and will never ever give this place a look see ever again. I was thinking about hosting a corporate event there but no more. If you are looking for a great customer experience I would avoid this place at all possible. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
Stopped here for a work meeting and coffee.Cant comment on restaurants or rooms however if the seating and cafe area is anything to go for, Id imagine its a very nice place to stay.Great location, great parking availability and lovely interior. May just stay here in the near future!
Arrived here on a sunny afternoon walk by thd River, what a lovely spot to stop for a drink we thought.......we were given a drinks menu by a waitress one of three who were milling around. We were told we had to scan the bar code and then download the app to order our drinks. Unfortunately once we had done this the drinks we wanted vpuld not be ordered on the app. So we asked if we could give the order to one of the waitresses ..oh no thats not what they are there for ! We had to go to the bar and order drinks .....but we were not allowed to order at the bar we had to take seat and then the waiter would take our order !!!!!! So I walked three feet from the bar to sit on a sofa and then stood anyway to order drinks , I was then told they would bring them out to us !!!! What an absolute debacle of a mess of lack of organisation in total it took twenty five minutes to get three drinks by which time we could have walked to the Swan in staines ordered three drinks at the bar and sat by the river one word shambolic !!!
Rooms are tiny and bathroom is super small. The lounge area is nice and service good. The spa area is big and complete
Went for the Sunday buffet lunch and was really impressed. Arrived a little early but offered a drink in the cosy reception, whilst the children looked at the painted ducks!Selection was of really high standard and plenty of it. Some of the group though the meat was a little rare, but I didnt mind it! Great for a treat or special occasion.
I bought Vouchers for my 14 year old daughter to go on a parent and teen Spa day for her birthday in January 2020. Her mum had passed away and it was away of getting her closer with her older sister. Covid Came and the hotel was not accepting guest to the spa for around six months. then when the did re-open it was not allowing guests only members for a number of months. We tried Booking in early July 2021 and were told the earliest they could do is September 2021. My older Daughter then went travelling from end of August 2021 till April 21st 2022. When we tried booking the spa they advised we couldnt use our Vouchers as they were nearly 4 months out of date. They have refused to extend them even though of the 2 years on the vouchers we couldnt have gone for around a year as they were closed or not excepting Guest/Young Teenagers. This is not an honourable way of treating customers the vouchers were not a discount i paid £130 for a £130 worth of vouchers quick enough take our money!!!
I would like to thank everyone (especially Craigat Runnymede on Thames. We had an excellent weekend spent at the hotel - and a fantastic boat trip. The food was great, the service was excellent throughout & the hotel truly made our weekend relaxed and easy.Thank you
Wow this is some serious retreat venue! And the boat ride all the way back & forth to Windsor castle is superb (plan for 4-5 hours rental). All staff is delivering a wonderful service! Id definitely stay again, time ran out way too quickly! Cheers
It has had a fantastic refurbishment around the reception and bar and restaurant areas. Wonderful spot on the river Thames too impress outdoor, indoor pool and gym and spa facilities too. We dont live far so often visit for lunch /coffee / drinks or business meeting venue. Have also stayed here though and recommend it
We booked ahead to moor our boat before we left Windsor that is a must! All went very smoothly unlike some previous comments I have readThe all day food menu has very nice selection we both had the beautiful club sandwich and two glasses of the very nice French white wine that was on offer! All told the river view with our boat moored was lovelyVery good service from allThank you all!
Stayed for 3 nights with a young family. Generaly very good. Had an adjoining room which was helpful, well fitted and clean. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, so the only option was an all day buffet for dinner. Which at £38 for an adult and £19 for a child was pricy. Especially for a 6 year old.We enjoyed a variety of things, though Im not a fan. Encourages over eating and a lot of waste. Plus there was a 10% service charge, strange to include this as its self service. Found out after we could have used the room service menu. Which is quite extensive. We used this another night for 3 pizzas and chips. Though the pizzas where quite small at about 10inch, for a £18 margarita.Pool and spa was good. Nice position next to the river. Good for long walks.
Didnt stay at the hotel, but had a meeting in the lounge area. While the drinks were fine, I did have to wait about 20 minutes just to be served at the table (table service only). Need to be pushy to get the attention of staff.
Had a cream tea excellent service they looked after my wifes allergies nothing was to much trouble. We were seated by a window looking over the river just an excellent view. Good value for the money plus no rush so an ideal way to relax. No room review as we did not stay as we are local to the hotel. We will go back but be advised you need to book.
Overall genuinely the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at before! Great service, beautiful location, delicious food, friendly staff. The gym and pool facilities are really good too. You can tell how much pride the hotel takes over all sides of the business. LOVELY STAY! would definitely recommend! (plus the best Sunday roast dinner we’ve ever eaten in our life)
My partner and I stayed here for a few days last week. Our stay at the Runnymede was above and beyond expectations. Staff are incredible and make you feel really welcomed. The rooms are lovely and sweet with a comfy bed. The location is beautiful with lots of local attractions and activities provided by the hotel. The Runnymede does a wonderful job at making you feel comfortable and relaxed. The spa facilities are brilliant and the food is wonderful as well. You can really see how much pride they have in running such a great hotel. Thank you so much for having us.Highly recommend the Sunday roasts! They are outstanding. Best roast I have ever had.
“Hotel & Spa” should be taken with a big pinch of salt. This is a very family-focussed hotel, and it should be advertised as such. The “spa” area was a glorified kids pool for most of the day - there was nothing on the website that indicated that the “award winning spa facilities” would be packed with children until 6pm (open for another two hours but mostly over the available dinner times….). Very misleading. The restaurant was similarly heaving and loud. It was an extremely expensive trip to what is not dissimilar to a leisure centre. The photos and content on the website make it look much more adult-focussed, clearly encouraging trips for friends or couples, which is unfairly misleading. We are pretty disappointed and I would urge anyone who isn’t interested in a kids’ getaway to reconsider. This should have been made clear, and it was not. I hope my review will help warn anyone looking for a spa weekend.Having said that - the food was excellent, and our room was pleasant and quiet. Perhaps it is more relaxing midweek, but I would keep the loudness and busyness strongly in mind if this is not what you are after, particularly given the description on the website.
Champagne afternoon tea, great friendly, professional and attentive staff!! Made the experience even better. Vegan afternoon tea, great sandwich selection, no dry scones and nice cakes. All in all, value for money lovely afternoon, not rushed was able to stay from 2.30 until 5pm. Recommend!
Where do I begin, booked the Christmas package and have had a wonderful stay from Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day!!! The room was lovely, the food was consistently exquisite (a particularly highlight was the poached salmon). And the staff, all incredibly friendly, attentive and helped make the stay even better. Anna and Davey particularly stood out, regularly engaging in conversation with us while ensuring we were always well looked after, but every staff member we spoke to across the weekend was just brilliant!!!The hotel is just stunning. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. This was my first stay but will no way be my last. Thanks to all the wonderful staff for your hard work in making this a wonderful Christmas for all your guests!!!
