Generous portions of egg noodles, momos & other Tibetan fare served in a relaxed ambiance.
Good Tibetan food and a non-slip ychoice if you had enough chilies for a while :)
Authentic Tibetan restaurant. Momo plater is good. But Fried rice contain lot of cabage and onion. Beef roast and chicken garlic was below average taste.
Had a noodle soup and steamed momos. Were a bit greasy, but decent. Good for those cold evenings where you would like something warm
Great food. Have varieties to choose from. Price also ok. No toilet facility available. Congested space also.
Tried some Chicken Wantan Soup,Mix beef chowmen,Chicken chowmen, Fried beef memos, Steamed chicken Momos. Soup was great.Overall the food was good and this place is a must try Tibetan Restaurant. The space is little small
Good restaurant to have your lunch.
Try the Beef Chilli and Tibetan Bun. Also the potato cheese momos hit the right spot and send you straight to bed after.
Good food. Prices are affordable. However copious use of oil might not be good for everyone
Momos are great in taste here . Soups are really good. Noodles are not tasty . But every item they serve will be in huge amount. All the dishes are Slightly at a costlier side. Waiter is so much polite and active. Had a nice experience .
Its a small shop whicn seems crowded but actually the food is of good quality and service is also good .........but its a little bit expensive.Food is of good portion
Excellent food. Enjoyed a lot.Price is nominal. Excellent service
Good place for lunch and food are delicious. Authentic tiebitean foods are awesome. Momos , chicken noodle soup and chilli beef are must try
Tried manchow, beef fried and momos. Manchow was really good and beef fry could have been better in terms of flavour. Momos is regular. Small space decent ambience on that location. Enjoyed the hospitality by the owner.
This outlet was run by a old man in his late 70s. He resides on top of his restaurant in a small patchy house. I happened to see his difficulties in going up stairs, having food and washing his own stuff. I really wanted to help this man, hence went and had lunch there. Hmm The food is tastier. You shd all give a try. Lets help the poor old man sustain his life. Even if its not great according to you, one avg meal for us wont matter. But this hardworking old man will earn his bread and live happily. Pls Contribute to the old mans happiness. Believe me the food offered is good.
Very average quality of momos, filling was also not that good. Seating is not great and it is tightly packed.
Authentic taste 🤌We ordered chicken veg noodles and chilli chicken boneless , both the dishes were really good and fresh😋.
Small and cosy restaurant. Very polite staff and super fast service. The authentic food is tasty and there are many choices on the menu. Best Tibetan restaurant around.
Ordered a take away for veg momo steam. When I opened it in my hotel, it was stinking. They gave stale momos. The momo was undercooked too. Could see the blotches of maida on the outside. After waiting for 30 minutes got undercooked and stale stinking momos.
Excellent food at a very reasonable price in an otherwise costly tourist place. I am not sure if the taste is authentic Tibetan, but definitely suitable for Indian palate. Their Tibetan bread and fried rice were excellent. Our original plan was to try out this place for one day but we ended up having lunch here the next day as well. Must visit restaurant in Kodaikanal.
Awesome food. We tried veg cheese momos, mutton momos fried and chowmein, sweet corn soup. It was very good. The best was the ginger honey lemon tea which was perfect for chilly weather. Loved the experience !
TastedChicken fried riceTibeten bread🍞Chicken 65🍗Beed fried chilli 🍲Everything tastes amazing and espessially the beef with tibeten bread combo is 👌
4-Nov-2021. Went there around 3 PM after reaching Kodai. We tried- chicken fried momos- beef steamed momos- chicken egg cheese chowmein- beef crispy fryJust amazing. You wont be disappointed in there. The food is quality.
I visited this place during my Kodaikanal Trip and had some fried veg cheese momos. 8 pieces were served on a plate with a couple of chutneys. I loved the momos with traditional momo chutney. There was a considerable amount of cheese inside it and they were made very well. The service was pretty fast and quick. The ambiance is very average though - nothing special about it.
Nice wee Tibetan place to grab some momos and thukpa for a quick meal. OK, so maybe they add a few Indian touches to the thukpa like a dash of turmeric, but the end result is still good and the quantity of meat in the dishes is better than the other nearby places serving similar food. Beef noodle soup & chicken + cheese thukpa were great tasting.Beware and Make sure to take cash, as they dont take card or UPI payments, though cash machines are located just up the road if need be.
Good food at reasonable price. Tried fried momos, but it was oily. Prefer steamed momos.
Authentic and excellent Tibetan food. Everything we had was exceptional. Had to wait for almost an hour on a weekend. Better reserve tables beforehand.
Lovely cozy place which entices us with the aroma even before we enter. Fast service and yummy food in a very cheap price. The quantity is a Lot, inspite of splitting the noodle soup into 3 there was so much quantity. Must try in Kodaikanal.
Restaurant is good and in nice ambience of Tibet. Rates are costly compared to other restaurants. The dishes are good but not so excellent. We can get better Momos for cheaper rate even in some other restaurants. So definitely this is not the best shop for Momos. Just a decent one to give a try. Service is good. Friendly persons. Varieties are good but costly. Can try once. Soup was really good and Chicken Noodles tastes too good.
This tiny Tibetan food joint took us by surprise. We had Thukpa and Momos (fried and steamed). I was a litle unsure of how the food would taste because the cooks, yes I could see them in the kitchen, looked like locals. But to our surprise both dishes we had were fantastic!
Okay food. Very bad ambience. No hygiene whatsoever. The sauces on the table were kept open since God knows when and they expect us to eat momos with that. Table was dirty to keep hands on. Food was good in taste but the meat put in it was questionable. Asked for chicken but highly questionable to what it was. Very congested if it gets full. Rates are very less which is a good thing but the least one can expect is to maintain the place. Very dim white lighting. Food is served so quick that you think it was prepared couple of hours before. Literally took less than 5 minutes to get my thukpa and chowmin. Literally! Do not try spring rolls they are way too deep fried to enjoy. Chowmin is good. Thukpa is nice. Momos are good.
Excellent food... crowded place but worth for the taste.I ate soup, chicken chowmein, chicken wanto.old place but cleanness and services too good.
We wanted to try Tibetan food and heard this place to be good for try.. Tried plain chicken soup, chicken momos and also chicken chowmein.. It is the first time I tried chowmein and it tasted good.. But it would be very good its little more hot.. Soup was very good and momos is good but quantity is less for the given cost.. Can try for once if you are interested to try out Tibetan food..
Its a cozy restaurant on the first floor. Yes, it is small and packed but other than that. The taste is outside the world..The waiter was nice enough to recommend me all authentic Tibetan style meal. We really enjoyed the food there. They can improve the vibes of the restaurant since the food isn’t cheap either. The restaurant is a bit too packed sometimes and one can not enjoy the meal peacefully..I would recommend anyone to try the food, if its super packed, you can take it away anytime 😃
I think this restaurant is riding on the coattails of the reviews from the past and no longer cares for quality. The food is very sub par. The only thing worth trying is the chilli beef. This dish is good. Dont order the Momos. Take my word for it. You will only find the flour wrapping with nothing inside. For the price, thats a big rip off. The rice aint of good quality either. The noodles are decent. The place is small n dingy. And they dont have any payment option except for cash. As a tourist, anyone should try the local cuisine instead of going to a Chinese place.
It serves dishes like no where in the world does. Awesome time have heavy lunch. All dishes are too perfect and delicious.
Tasty food good but bit expensive... must tryfried momos (chic & veg), chicken chesse chowmein
Best place to grab Tibetian food and dare I say the best in the country. Countless reasons and some of them are in house noodle which are larger in size, the mix in the momos are flavoured brilliantly, the chilly beef is actually spice other than just chilly powder, the fried rice is perfectly flavoured all the way through and finally the ginger lemon tea finishes the meal to perfection.Ambience: (4/5)It’s a small space with traditional table cloth and lighting. Only a few tables so you can expect to have a wait here. There is also a chance of things getting over, so suggest going in a bit early around 7:30pm.Food: (5/5)I would easily give this place a 6/5 or more. The food is brilliant in terms of flavour, appearance and quantity. It is also serviced super fast. Started the meal with a tomato egg drop soup which has had this flavour since I have a little kid almost 25 years ago. Moved on to the momos. This was the first time I tried veg momos, but they were very very good. Cooked and seasoned super well. Then moved to the chowmein and the chilly beef. Both of my which are my all time favourites. Had a fried rice to try something new and finished with the ginger lemon tea which would help digest all that was eaten. All the flavours are so good especially the chowmein, the home made noodles and the oils that are being used made it tasty brilliant.Summary: (5/5)Best Tibetian food hands down. If you are in kodai, this is a must visit. Coming from someone who grew up there for 18 years, this is one advice you should take. Have a fantastic time here.
Food was great nice experience . The Cute old couple has been running the place.
I am sorry but my friends and I did not have a great experience here. We ordered momos which turned out to be chewy, mutton noodles with no mutton pieces in it, chilly fried beef but filled with only gravy and the chicken thuk which was just chicken broth and boiled noodles which did not catch the aroma or taste of the dish. Server was always in a hurry. Our only consolation was the honey lemon tea which turned out to be great.
Awesome food and good place for Chinese and Tibetan food varieties. Noodle soups are must try
Food was really great. Service was excellent. You will be welcomed by the Tibet man with a Big smile in his face. The bearer was so responsive and charming. We tried Hot & Sour chicken soup which was mouth watering, then Fried chicken momo which was also good with the flavour sauses. Then the main course was Chicken cheese Chowmen/Noodles which was also differently good.Overall my rating is 4/5 😋
A good choice to your taste buds. Crispy beef and chilly beef are must try. Noodle soup was different from our usuals and tasted good. Despite of the size of the shop, menu and food was good.Location 4Service 4Menu 4Food taste 4Ambience 3.5
If you give ambeince a priority then this is definitely not a place for you. Food is good but my advice is to stick to soups/ thupka or momos if you wanna avoid oily food. We ordered non veg wanton noodle soup, Momos and garlic chilli chicken with the Tibetan bread. Soup was gud n Momos were of gud quality but chilli chicken was very oily and tiben bread is nothing but deep fried batter of white flour.
First time trying Tibetan food and the experience was wonderful.. Started with chicken noodles soup which was good and then ordered Tibetan bread chilly chicken and both steamed and fried momos.. The taste was delicious..Only drawback I experienced was while ordering second time I took a lot of waiting time for the order to reach us.. Otherwise everything was good..
Excellent place in kodaikanal where you can have tummy full tasty food without buring your pocket. The restaurant is on upstairs and interesting thing is that they wide range of items in menu at much affordable priceTop : There is another Tibetian restaurant nearby with similar name and menu items, dont go there because it tastes yuck and damn expensive. This is from my personal experience.
Good restaurent for food lover . Taste and quantity is good , staff is helpful. Fast service. Soupes , Momoes are good .
If theres one food place in Kodaikanal that I would recommend that everyone try before leaving town, its The Royal Tibet! After the first time there, I make it a part of my agenda every time I travel to Kodaikanal. As I do with all my reviews, heres the pros and consPros -- Ridiculously delicious food- Quality will be seen in every bite- Generous portions- Cozy dining space- Very hospitable serviceCons -- Limited seating available- Parking will be a hassle on the weekends due to tourists piling up- Occasionally youll have to wait for seats and service due to space constraints
A must visit place for momos, it have some very good variety of delicious Momo extremely tasty yummy. Very friendly and humble stuff, compares to the others near by shops.... the behaviour is the key thing and they have it Ran was very kind and well mannered.....theenu is big it also have parathas too I took veg Momo which were yummy, I am vegetarian and was wondering others will have and o will get nothing veg, felt good to get the veg momos.....thanks....
Small place, but dont let the appearance fool you. We tried a couple of noodle soup bowls, and the fried momos. The portions are generous, the food delicious and the service quick.
We had dinner twice at this place during our four day visit. The staff as well as the owner always are pleasant and the taste of food is excellent.
