Hip twist on a classic supper club offering casual American fare & cocktails in a historic venue.
I left a tip for the cooks and cooks are not part of the tip pool. Even If you like the food here, do not support this business. I watched as the manager took the tip I put on the expo counter specifically for the cooks. She then informed me that the cooks do not participate In the tip pool. Dont worry I handsomely tipped my server too. Do not eat at the Rossi if you value service industry workers. Cooks deserve tips. Fight me if you disagree. She snatched their tip away from them.
A Cozy dark & loud restaurant bar. Decent food, attentive waitstaff. Would recommend for a impromptu meal in a pretty busy area..
Staff is exceptional. Food is delicious. Had a Caesar salad for lunch-croutons and dressing are made right there. Love the decor. Will have to go back for dinner.
We just came in at random and the servicing is epic and the drinks are awesome as well as food .
Wonderful experience, delicious cocktails, and great food.
I went to The Rossi full of expectations and, unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. We went there for the “Restaurants Week” in Columbus and got their menu with a couple of different choice.I was very happy with the appetizers: both the Ricotta and the meatballs were amazing.Unfortunately, the main plates were not so great: Carbonara was very runny and with almost no pancetta… the other dish was also plain and with not a lot of flavor (mainly spice).Desserts also were very average.Service was great and the waiter (it was his first daywas very nice and thoughtful.I will for sure give it another chance… hopefully, it will change my mind!
Stopped here for some great cocktails and brunch to start our night on the town and wow were we impressed.Meatballs, burrata, and calamari were on fire.Wine and cocktails were wonderful also!
The hanger steak was over cooked, even over burned. All you could taste was bitterness. I told this issue to the waiter, who didn’t say a single word of apology, but just “okay”.Well, this is an okay restaurant
Great food, staff and service.
Today was the first time I had the happy hour here at Rossi. Have to say the food was very delicious and was well worth the price. The quality and quantity was at the right price point and the service is very good the waitress really kept checking in to be sure we had enough food and water. I highly recommend the food.
Amazing pizza, it’s was so zesty. High quality cheese and hearty sauce. Easily top 5 pizza in Columbus.
Amazing dinner! Wonderful atmosphere. The manager is on the ball and runs it well. Cant wait to go back.
Food is ok, lamb chops taisted really bad, customer service descent, 1st time visitor, wouldnt think about returning.
Went there before going to a Concert on Campus. Service was really good and food was even better. Thought we would go for drinks and was very surprised how good the food was. Great atmosphere for an early dinner. Have been to many places in the Short North and our first visit to The Rossi was memorable. I recommend this place for couples and small groups.
Stylish decor & ambiance. Experienced bar tenders making house, hand made drinks. Food was delish.
Had our first date here years ago and its still great even after a change of mgmt.
happy hour pizza for $8.50 is bomb. great service/drinks
We were aiming for The Rossi, but you know, running in the door out of a torrential rain just gave us a quick jolt of making it into someplace special. And it is. Has a great low key vibe with subtle lighting and music that’s there, but not THERE, if you get me. The sunset on amalfi cocktail was perfect, mussels were so tasty with just the right spicy kick, meatballs were full flavored, and truffle fries? We just kept dipping into the lemon aioli! So worth the rainy dash!
My favorite restaurant in Columbus. Ham and gruyere sandwich is delicious. I think they have the best pizza in town.Update: June 3rd, 2022Menu has changed and its no longer the same. Ham and gruyere sandwich is gone. I had the mushroom pizza. It was not good. its definitely not the same. Server was nice, manager was not. On a very sunny Friday evening, restaurant was empty.I will never go back. What a disappointing dinner 😔😔
We waited for an hour and a half for a pizza. I asked if they could give it to us in a to go box and when the check came it was compd fortunately. However there was no apology but the excuse that things were crazy that night even though it wasnt busy.
Food and servers were great - manager was rude. A friend and I went early on a Wednesday and the manager asked if we had a reservation (we did not). She emphasized that there was only ONE non-reservation table left. It came across passive aggressive and as if we were lucky to be getting seated without a reservation.I ordered the mussels off the happy hour menu. When the dish arrived it included pork sausage, which I cannot eat. After checking the happy hour menu to confirm sausage was not a listed ingredient, I asked a server about it. She confirmed it was pork sausage, apologized, and asked if I wanted the dish remade. Since it had taken some time to receive, I declined. Oversights happen and thats fine, I just didnt want to wait. The manager then came over and said she heard the dish wasnt to my liking. I said it included an ingredient not listed on the menu which I could not eat. She asked "Didnt you see sausage listed?" which came across as condescending. Apparently sausage is listed on the regular menu. I replied that I had checked and its not on the happy hour menu. She then said they would remove the dish from our bill "as a courtesy" which she again emphasized as if I was lucky. No apology. Its important for the menu to reflect the ingredients served, especially with something like meat in a seafood dish. While the other food was great, I wouldnt go back based on my treatment.
Very friendly staff and excellent food.
The food is always great, if you get it. The service wasn’t the best this time. I had to go to the bar to pick up my own drink order.
Enjoyable and quaint place to try. VERY GOOD COCKTAILS 🍸 and I suggest the spinach manicotti ❤️ All delicious, great appetizers. Ask for Tako, he was quite accommodating!!!
We stopped in for a nightcap. Great cocktails and a nice whiskey selection. High quality ingredients and good technique. Helpful and friendly bar staff, too. A pity the kitchen was closed, but hope to try the food next time.
Came for brunch, made a reservation fairly easily via Google. Decent amount of options for both food and drink. Unfortunately, many items that were on the menu (see photos for QR codewere actually unavailable. Had to have a back up plan on what else to order. Beautiful venue inside with nice large windows facing high street. Perfect for people watching/free entertainment. Food was good and drinks were pretty good as well!
First time visiting, we enjoyed a fabulous meal and drinks, and give special kudos to the staff for getting us a seat at the bar on a very busy Friday evening (Valentines weekend).
My kids went together and bought me a Rossi Bar and Kitchen gift card for Christmas a couple of years ago. With Covid, we really have not been going out to dinner…. Our whole family had all been to The Rossi several times a couple of years ago, and my kids knew, I really liked the place. Loved the pizza. Soooo, I called in, placed a carry out order this evening. I drive down, run in and hand them my gift card…finally able to use the card thoughtful gift from my kids….Joey , a nice young guy runs the card, no value…..? Megan the manager is called over…’oh, so sorry sir, we have new owners, this card is no longer any good’……wow, really? no value, none, zip, zero, zilch…..I almost walked out, leaving the pizza and the three appetizers behind, unpaid for…But thought, no, 2 wrongs don’t make a right…..so I paid with a credit card, left a trip and headed home….it sure brought my high option of The Rossi, the new owners and the management to take a big dive….We CAN do better, and we should!!
I always go for the Lamb Lollipops & Brussel Sprouts!! Very tasty!
Always a nice place to go. Good pizza; great lamb pops; great pasta dishes. The service could be a bit snappier, but still a good place to have some dinner and drinks.
Looked up best burgers in Columbus. The list needs updated because this super dry, overcooked pile of garbage doesn’t belong anywhere near that list. Great service thoug, my server was very friendly.
This is how the evening went. The restaurant is very dark.We were the first ones there for the evening with a reservation and they stuck us in a dark corner at a very small table next to a Christmas Tree that wouldn’t light. However while we were eating they proceeded to restring the tree (which was directly behind me); poor planning. The drinks were very just bad and sour BUT the food was delicious
Quality spot. Good lighting with an intimate ambiance. Not a big red meat eater, but the meatballs were melt in your mouth texture, very good. The marinara didnt disappoint, either.
Ive been here a half dozen times over the last few years and they are consistently excellent. Literal best french fries Ive ever had. Last Saturday my friend and I drove from Dayton to Columbus for a Murder Mystery dinner event, and once we left we went straight to the Rossi, spent 30 minutes looking for parking, and split some very good meatball sliders and fries despite having just left dinner. Worth it.
Great atmosphere, yummy, the drinks were awesome and so is the food I would definitely come back here
Ordered a belvedere martini. the martini tasted a little minty. not sure why. had the Brussel sprouts. Ive had better but it was still good. calimari wasnt anything special.. not overcooked though so good. shared a couple plates. the special strip steak and the pork chop. even though the steak was medium rare, it was still a little tough. the pork chop though was amazing. so flavorful and tender. the sides for the chop wasnt great...grits and greens. the scalloped potatoes with the steak was really good though. so the pork chop with scalloped potato would have been the winning combo. should have tried a dessert but I was stuffed with all of the other food. I will be back to try other things on the menu.
We came her for our Anniversary, We had a few appsBrussels sproutsMusselsCalamariFonduePork tenderloin and fritesZeppoles ( donuts with ricottawith powdered sugar and the BEST chocolate sauce ever. Fondue was good but not exceptional.Excellent atmosphere. Awesome happy hourExcellent Service!!! Excellent value for happy hour. Highly recommend
I ordered a chicken breast sandwich. It was completely raw. Truly completely uncooked. I had already bitten into it, and the feeling of the lukewarm raw chicken stayed in my mouth for a long time. While the staff was apologetic, I cannot recommend to anyone. If that is what is visible to the guests, I am concerned for what goes on out of sight.
We came in around 2. Our waitress was incredibly short with us and very rude. She never checked up on us and we had to ask another worker multiple times for things such as refills and even ketchup. When we left we noticed she was sitting at the bar on her phone. Not suprised. At least the other waiter was nice. My burger was burnt beyond belief. My friends chickens were all burnt and bland. For how slow it was and having only one other table in the table, you wouldn’t expect us to be there for an hour before receiving our meals. At least they did take the burger off. I have never had such horrible service though. She was incredibly rude, never asked us for drinks, and after we asked for another moment to look over the menu it took her almsot 20 minutes to come back, and we were constantly having to ask and reask for things. We should’ve left then. Definately wasn’t worth the $120.
I had the opportunity to eat at the Rossi today.I can sure say that it was an amazing experience!!Skyler was an amazing server always had a smile and was very helpful with the questions we had with the menu. She made our experience amazing, definitely recommend this location.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Shorth North! Their burgers are absolutely amazing and one of the best that Ive ever had. I love the vibe inside too. Its very laid back and cozy. Good spot for a date night or to meet up with friends. I highly recommend checking this place out!
Service was slow during a slow period (3pm). Our server had her back to us unfolding boxes and would walk by us without looking at us or ever refilling water. She was short with us. It took 20 minutes and asking two separate people for a side of ketchup. Seemed like staff was more interested in joking around and talking with each other instead of helping guests.
FANTASTIC place in Short North. Such a bustling area - you have to check it out. The food and service at Rossi were outstanding. The menu had so many great options, but I was drawn to happy hour muscles (delicious and freshand the burger. The meat is sourced from a local chop house, so that made it an easy choice. 10/10 would dine here again. With so many choices in the area, dont over look this one!
Appetizers were great, drinks were great! There were good options fun to sip and nibble and share in a casual environment with the busy high street silently strolling by all in perfect view. It has a good ambience and the staff were more than friendly and helpful. The burrata board and Brussels sprouts were delicious. The pork chop and cheddar grits and collard greens were really rich, balanced flavors and well cooked I definitely recommend. Although admittedly the temperature of the pork was not likely up to snuff and we ended up with slightly undercooked chop (some establishments will cook pork to medium anymore based on the fresh clean source and raising of pork). The veggie risotto didn’t quite work, the stringy green veggies and then the much larger boxy squash sort of contrast poorly. The flavors of the squash and risotto itself are about all you’ll get. The greens just kind of were there and in the way, it could have been creamier. It felt like they tried to create a veg dish for veg persons and took a cheap shot. It ought not be an entree for any reason. If someone was to try this dish and it be there first impression of risotto it would surely be there last.I’ve been before and I’ll come back some day. It really is a lovely Columbus gem, and even with a few small mistakes has lots of potential.
I would say I liked this place. It does not get very busy so it’s good for a chill Friday evening. There are not many options on the happy hour menu. I always compare similar places to Marcella’s and that one would be my go-to, to be honest. I may go back here sometimes. The service was pretty good. The martinis were tiny, and the prices were a bit high. And I did not like the food that I had that much. The cauliflower gratin was alright and the margherita pizza was not good at all.
Get the fish tacos and shove them into your face. You wont regret it. Never had fried salmon before, The Rossi did it well. The cocktails were excellently crafted.
Always been a favorite years ago. I always remembered it as being really busy and filled with all the young hip crowd of foodies. We finally had a chance to go back and it didnt disappoint. The place looked the same and maybe a little worn from years of serving the Short North but the food was delicious. They still have their signature lamb lollipops for appetizers as well! This time we had their prosciutto wrapped ceasar salad and i had their meatloaf. Delicious! My wife had the pasta of the day which was labster mac n cheese... wow! I wont wait as long to eat here again.
This place is so special for my husband and I. We had our first date here and wedding dinner. We go back for anniversaries and always try to sit in our special spot- the really fun round table! We initially went here on that first date because of the food. Amazing! They have the usual staples we always have to get- french fries, lamb lollipops, meatball... But also always a delicious daily special. And the atmosphere unique and comforting and service is fantastic and welcoming.Eat here!
Absolutely incredible! Everything from the food to the service was excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough. My favorite for the evening was the lamb chops. Sara did a great job serving us as well.
The staff is extremely friendly, and food was great American fare. Definitely looking forward to coming back. The burger is quite good, though it didnt feel like it had a signature flavor that made it unique. The Caesar Salad has a great presentation and is served with prosciutto, making it a standout. The drink I had was fine. I suspect the menu cocktails are quite good but I didnt get a chance to try them, opting instead for the bartenders choice.
