Casual, family-owned eatery with a meat-centric menu of dry-rubbed ribs, steaks & burgers.
The best ribs I have ever eaten in my life!!!! Seriously high recommend this place…. Sorry for don’t take pictures… I can’t wait to eat
Friendly no-frills rib joint with decent prices and friendly service. The smell drew me in when I was riding past. If I wasnt on my motorcycle with many more miles to go I would have been tearing up some ribs or chicken. (I try to take it easy on my tummy when Im on the road, especially riding through the desert.)Instead, I went for the pulled pork sandwich. It was huge and tasty, topped with slaw, and had a hint of pineapple for balance. The tater salad was very good and filling. It had egg and mustard like a good southern dish. The neighboring table ordered burgers. They were giant and made me drool. Maybe next time Im in the neighborhood.UPDATE: I returned with my better half and it was just as good the second time around. She loved her brisket and I went with the burger. It was thick, juicy, and well seasoned. Im still dying to try the steaks and ribs. Next time...
“These are desert cups,” said our waitress as she set our massive waters on the table.Such a fantastic experience! The rib and chicken dinners are fantastic. The service was great and everyone was incredibly friendly. It didn’t look like much to look at from the road, but honestly even a year and a half later my fiancée and I still talk about the dinner we had here. Highly highly recommend!
We spent the night in 29 Palms and had wonderful dinner. Old fashion steak, baked potato n salad. Corn bread is home made and not too sweet. Service is attentive. It was smokey outside though.
Stellar food and amazing service! Our server (didnt catch her name, but she was wearing a Watt jersey for halloweenwas attentive, friendly, and stayed on top of refills and boxes and whatnot. The food was fantastic. My husband and I over ordered to have leftovers for lunch the next day, so had the opportunity to try a variety of items. We had the grilled jalapeños and the potato nachos as appetizers and they were awesome. And for our entrees we both created a combo and chose the triple threat ribs for both as well as the filet and shredded brisket with mac & cheese, baked beans, a dinner salad, and cole slaw. The stars were the brisket and the mac and cheese for sure, but everything was lovely. And those corn muffins are bomb! Also have to mention that their made in house ranch dressing is some of the best Ive ever had. Im sure Ill be here regularly while in town for work to stock up on just that and beg them for their recipe. All around an awesome dinner! The one downside were the few obnoxious vehicles revving right as the passed the outdoor dining area, but that is not at all on the restaurant. Just be aware that if you are seated outside, there is the potential for passing vehicles to be rude.
They were not joking when they say it is one of the best ribs you will taste. Please do get the baby back ribs, as they are really tender and soft.We couldn’t help but to order another serving to go so that we can enjoy it back in our hotel.Strongly recommended!!
All the staff are very friendly 🙂We ordered a steak and rib combo and Cobb salad, super delicious 😋And end up the packing almost the whole salad. Its a great place to fuel up before going to Joshua Tree national park 🏞️
The staff was nice, the corn muffin was the only decent thing we ate. The ribs tasted like they were boiled first and then finished on the grill. Had the sampler, some pieces were super dry and some pieces were also mushy. Relied too much on sauce to carry it. Coleslaw was bland and my sons chicken tenders were flavorless and as dry as sawdust. Was passing through no reason to go back.
I’m sitting here right frigin now!!! For the second time in two days. This place makes a bold statement on their menu. That their products are homemade and are delicious. I held them to it and they blew away my expectations. Both times we had wonderful servers, Taylor in particular was friendly and attentive. The food not only tasted amazing but tasted home made. While this place is not a wing restaurant they have the best I’ve ever had!! And their cornbread! Amazing!!!!
This place is unexpectedly delicious. It’s settled in Joshua Tree with a rinky-dink exterior but large interior with plenty of seating and very friendly staff. The menu is pretty big and offers plenty to choose from. I went with the half rack of ribs with two sides for ~$30 and it filled me up! I could not finish it. The ribs were dry and could have benefitted from moisture/a wet sauce, but they were still delicious. The stuffed jalapeños were AMAZING! Definitely a must try and they aren’t spicy. The whole vibe and atmosphere were awesome, and staff were attentive to refills/inquiries. You gotta try this place!
The food was incredible! My husbands ribs literally were falling off of the bone. Service was fantastic! Our hotel front desk recommended this place and so glad they did!
Dude. Ive lived in 29 for over 11 years, and I finally went to Rib Co. It made me realize that Ive missed out on so much good bbq from here for the past 11 years. So much regret. I had the baby back ribs and the triple threat ribs. It was SO GOOD I cried! Just a heads up, their food can be a pretty penny, but trust me, it is so worth it. I was so impressed. Give them a try!!
i’d recommend calling ahead to see what the wait times are because when it’s busy, it take a while to be seated but man is it worth the wait! the food was amazing and it’s the best sweet tea i can find from a local restaurant.
We came here after the trip to Joshua Tree park. This place is really good to recharge after the tired trip. We tried Prime rib steak, beef rib and pork rib, all tasted good despite the prime rib steak is a bit too fat. The service was also really good and quick. Recommend this place if you also came here tour around.
So so so good . Good favor on the ribs. Mac and cheese on point. Cole shaw could have been a little more juicy. But spinach dip and corn bread fire....been wanting to try it for 7 months since I lived here. So glad I finally did. Prices a little on the high side. But you get what you pay for.
Absolutely love this place! great food large portions also freshly prepared on the grill just dont be fooled by first impressions! The best spare ribs Ive ever had.My greatest respect
Bought the baby back and salmon… salmon was $23 and full rack was $33. The salmon tasted great but the price point was astonishing for a small filet of salmon. The rack was just ok and was very dry and not fall off the bone. Not saying this is how this place always is, but as a tourist this is what we got. Have had better ribs at Outback Steakhouse and this place is very expensive for what you get.
First time visiting. I was in the mood for steak so I came here. I was disappointed in the steak because it was tough to eat and I could tell it was frozen prior. For my sides I had the Mac & cheese & broccoli. The broccoli was good but the M&C was subpar & it tasted bland. On a positive note the lemonade was good; just right about it lemon & sugar. Their salmon was good though the portion was very small for the price & corn muffin with honey butter was fantastic! I will return just to try their ribs and if it’s good I’ll upgrade my 3stars rating. Until then; I will return for the ribs & muffin only & I will recommend this restaurant.
My boyfriend and I were visiting twentynine palms on vacation and needed a bite to est and our airbnb recommended The Rib Co. OH.MY.GOD. This is legitimately the best bbq we have ever had. The ribs were absolutely amazing and fell right off the bone. Definitely get the ones with all of the dry rubs and sauces, can’t remember the name but it was phenomenal. The beans were also next level. We still talk about the food months later. Couldn’t have found a better place to eat. 10/10 recommend.
The BEST brisket I’ve eaten west of Texas!! You’ll smell this heavenly place from the road, as they have a giant grill on their front patio making everything fresh to order! They have the most delicious baked beans I’ve had in my entire life. If I could’ve bought jars to take home with me, I would have. Also, all the employees were friendly and helpful. I’ve lived in a few southern states and eaten A LOT of barbecue — and this restaurant was a surprising, delightful reminder of it!
Random stop turned into an awesome find. Started off with a half rack of the house rub ribs and brisket. Ended up going back immediately for a full rack. (Got the last of the brisket with my previous order. The food didnt last long enough to get photos.
Fantastic food, and very nice people! Truly enjoyed the salmon and happy they include a good portion of veggies.
Great meat. Beans were a bit sweet, but also delicious. Beware of the Rib "sampler". Its a lot of food!
Great hostess and sever super friendly!I ordered the 1/2 fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac cheese it was pure perfection deliciousness.
Greeted with a smile. This place is the gem of 29 palms. The brisket sandwich gets an A. The fried chicken gets an A++ super moist chicken while being perfectly seasoned. The slaw is very good, the broccoli is perfectly cooked and the freshly mashed potatoes are excellent. Overall this is a great place for good grub in the high desert.
🍑🐷Sumptuous peach cobbler and great ribs! We split the Triple threat and house rub full racks between 3 people and this was a lot of food, we were barely able to finish them. I preferred the triple threat since I prefer my meat smothered in sauce versus a dry rub but in both cases the meat was excellently cooked and fell of the bone (bones were squeaky clean afterward!). The warm corn muffins and honey butter are were also a great compliment to the meal, especially when the butter melts on the muffin. I recommend getting the peach cobbler and ice cream for dessert (there is always room for dessert!)
Great food at this BBQ joint. Its positive note is also a negative one. The food takes a long time to get to the table. The reason for that is everything is made to order. It seems that the food is cooked on the spot and we waited over an hour. I think thats why it may be pricey as well, to cover the potential floor they could have if food was partially prepared already. But the food tasted great. The baby back ribs tasted amazing and the meatloaf that I ordered was great too!
Holy moley was this good. I grew up in Kansas City and Texas. Rib Co is awesome! The ribs are flavorful and very tender. The sides are good. The staff was friendly and attentive. All the ribs are grilled to order outside.I can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful! Worth the wait! Ribs were fall off the bone. Chicken was delicious! Mashed potatoes were the best I’ve had!
Ordered a brisket sandwich. No smoke flavor (probably cooked in an ovenand kinda on the dry side. The bread was grilled for a little too long, as you can see in the pictures. Ive heard the burgers are good, but I personally wouldnt recommend the brisket.
The ribs were OK however I wish it was a little bit juicier and tender. The sauce is pretty decent and the side dishes are good.
I took my dad here for lunch. We enjoyed the food very much. Nice outdoor seating. Jalapeño with cheese was extraordinary. Chicken wings were awesome. The baby back ribs were good. I just didn’t like the dry rub ribs. Between the 2 of us, the bill came out to be nearly $80. Definitely not cheap but the food was good!
Wow. Just wow. After a day exploring Joshua Tree, we were starving and wanted something hearty... the Rib Co did NOT disappoint. I highly recommend the triple threat ribs (although everything was delicious)
The food was great!! Chicken wings in Tennessee whiskey sauce was awesome. The peach cobbler is a must try!!Ambience and cleanliness can improve a bit. The service was very quick and waitress was a lovely lady!
Stopped by on our way home to AZ. Ordered jalapeno poppers to start. FANTASTIC! Now the ribs...Best ribs Ive had in years! Fell off the bone. Stacy was awesome as well. We will definitely stop again if in the area. Probably want to get there right when it opens if possible.
AMAZING!One of the best ribs I’ve ever eaten, the steak was great and the peach cobbler was straight out of heaven! In addition to the phenomenal food, was the service also very friendly and quick. If you are around, this place is a MUST!
The Rib Company is the best place to get a steak or ribs in Twentynine Palms. The barbecue is out front and you can smell flavorful aromas from the variety of delicious items on the grill when you drive by. They have indoor and outside seating. I’ve been picking up food to go here for years. If you’re visiting in the area, or you’re searching for the best place to eat in town, give the Rib Co a try. The ribs are extraordinary. I recommend trying the stuffed jalapeño peppers. They offer a variety of beers on tap. The steaks are prepared as you like. Expect 20 minutes to pick up. Call ahead and it will be ready when you arrive.
Slow food, but good food. Order took an hour, towards 1.5, but when the good arrived, it was great.Ribs were a bit dry, but meat fell off the bone and was still very good. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend if you have time to spare.
HANDS DOWN....MOST AMAZING BBQ EVER!!! If youre ever visiting anywhere near Josuha Tree CA...you absolutely MUST go a little further up the road and make a point to include eating here a part of your travel experience...if youre new to Twentynine Palms or in the neiboring town, add The Rib Co to your list of must try restaurants. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ♡
My husband took me here for the first time on my birthday, yesterday and I will say, I was impressed. Place was awesome, great servers and really great food. Not to mention, they had wine and beer!
Their ribs as advertised...... fall off the bone and our outstanding. We got the house dry rub ones and ordered a second of the Tennessee Glaze ones (ended up in a box, that was dinner today). Thank you for such a wonderful meal after a brutal hike in the desert!
Had the brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were good, but in my opinion the stars of the show were the sides: french fries and mac & cheese. The french fries were the best Ive had in recent memory.Be warned that the menu on their website (theribco.comhas outdated prices. The actual prices seemed to be around $1 more than published.
Convenient location, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The jalapeño poppers were flavorful. The artichoke spinach dip was a large serving and plenty to share. The chips and bread were fresh and a perfect match for the dip. The barbecue ribs were very tender, meat falling off the bones and full of flavor. The brisket sandwich was hearty and a perfect amount of seasoning. The potato salad was delicious.I was disappointed in the beef dip, the meat was bland and tasted as if it was not fresh. The beans were a bit heavy handed with a liquid smoke flavor.Overall we were very pleased with our meal and we will eat there again.
The food is so good!! Depending on when you go, there may be a wait, but the ribs, bbq, burgers, and steak are amazing. Relax and enjoy! I will definitely be going back.
This place was exceptionally good! The BBQ pork ribs fell off the bone and will probably the best Ive ever had. Plenty of parking the food is reasonably priced, I think they are understaffed, they seemed stressed out but still managed to get everybody what they needed. Ill go back here as often as possible its probably better to order a head or for pickup and I know the lines are long but the food is great and worth the wait!
Roadside BBQ takeout and outdoor dining. Cooked with care, plenty of salads and side offerings. Beer on tap. Things get busy and it might take a while but it’s worth the wait. Staff friendly and food authentic.
Customer service: Waitresses are happy to serve you.Food: OKAY for a hardy meal especially meat eaters. Dry Rub Salmon was my favorite.Environment: outdoor social distancing eating. Also be prepared for smoke to be in your clothes as the food is being prepared near the eating area.Negative: One of the waitresses did pet a dog as she went on check on tables. Need to be mindful of this as they are serving and carrying food.Parking: free and plentiful but its in the dirt.Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
You can smell the goodness before you even see the place! Outstanding food cooked on a large BBQ right in front of the establishment! Small place without a lot of indoor seating so the wait can be long. We ate outside in the patio, in January, in freezing temperatures and it was so totally worth it! Great food, Great Service... I will eat here every time I visit Joshua Tree National Park.
My husband and I love coming here! The staff is always friendly and the food has never disappointed. The triple threat is a good rib choice if you want something packed with flavor, but if you want their classic ribs you wont be upset. They have a tendency to fall off the bone here almost every time. Weve had almost all of the dishes here, and there hasnt been one that wasnt delicious. They also have a new dessert here (picturedthat is a wonderful compliment to any meal.
Absolutely superb. Large portions, flavorful perfectly cooked meat and traditional bbq style sides. Coleslaw was crisp, cornbread fresh and warm and the appetizers were delicious. Our server was an absolute charm and the outside dining option is a plus. Will definitely return.
