Upscale hotel restaurant featuring area-sourced, French-inspired cuisine in a sophisticated space.
Very tasty, both dinner and breakfast. Our server Iris was hardworking, friendly, and made a number of great suggestions. Brick and brass manufacturing atmosphere down by the water and park made for a nice walk after as well. The hotel was a great place to stay as well.
Beautiful place. The decor is interesting and in line with the buildings history. The food was delicious but took a
I would go to Lacrosse with no other agenda than to eat here
If I could give this restaurant zero stars it would be too gracious. We brought our family to this restaurant while traveling through the area on vacation and the host refused to seat us. We asked if we could be seated and he said he could not accommodate our group. Thinking it was due to the size of our group we asked if we could be seated at multiple tables and he said he refused to seat any one of our group. We are highly disappointed and will happily give a better establishment our business. I should note that there were 14 of us in our group. We were a multiethnic group consisting of adults and well behaved children.
Start with the British Garden and get the French Onion Soup. I landed on the salmon and have no regrets. Perfect flavor and cooked to perfection. This is also a hotel and has access to the... Lakeside boardwalk. The Mississippi River is actually clean and beautiful up here. I live in KC where its all mucky.
Great food, great service. Call out to server Iris, she was knowledgeable, kind and efficient. She made the experience great.
High end dining experience. The food was superb and staff were very capable.
Waiter was kind, food was amazing and we will definitely be back!
Nothing but the best! Great french cuisine, beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff!
Hands down best brunch and great service.
Excellent service. Definitely get the French 85 drink. It was delicious. Great views of the river. Next time we will try to rooftop bar.
Great food, great view and great service. Great choice for a Sunday brunch.
Had a very good experience. My waitress Kendall was very helpful.
Great food, amazing atmosphere, nice portions. We really enjoy the brunch menu.
Had a late lunch at the bar this afternoon. The drinks were excellent. The bartender was very friendly and the French onion soup was wonderful on a cold afternoon!
Solid classic old-fashioneds and the salmon was delicious. Our server Josh was great as well.
Absolutely amazing. I highly suggest ants on a log and the ox tail. Wife had the liver and it was great. Sea bass was Ok but not our style. Can’t wait to come back.
The Cocktails were good!!! One that I really wanted wasn’t available but they were able to make a Caipirinha for me instead!!! Loved the atmosphere. The rooftop look cool to check out in the summer.
Ordered pancakes, they were excellent and quite a full meal. Order with a specialty coffee and its heavenly.
Excellent and unusual food at a brunch on Friday. Very nice view and unique decor.
The Charmount restaurant is now on my list of absolute favorite restaurants by far. The food here is so amazing, and the restaurant has so much charactor. All the little details just brought everything together in such a unique way. I cant wait to try everything on the menu
This was the first time for my Daughter and I to come here. What an Incredible experience it was! We arrived early, so sat at the bar for a cocktail. Had so much fun interacting with the staff! Taylor was our bartender and Joshua was our server. The food was Amazingly Delicious and I complemented one of the Chefs! We Will be back! Thank you for a Special night! Keep up the Great work!! 👍 🤗❤
I have visit this restaurant twice and the service is great, food is good and the place is nice and confortable, definitely and option for a great night.
Great breakfast in a unique atmosphere. Perfectly-prepared corned beef hash, fresh squeezed orange juice and high quality Wonderstate Coffee. The pancakes were also delicious.
Beautiful interior and the like! Friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. The waitress Brooke was in particular amazing! Such amazing service from her!
Located in an old cigar factory. The wood floors are original and add to the lovely ambiance. It has a fantastic open kitchen design and stunning views of the Mississippi River.Oh, I guess I should mention the food! We all had the gravlax but, were watching various dishes as they came out. They all looked wonderful. And, the Bloody Mary was great!Wonderful service as well.
Loved the ambiance. The food was pretty good but very small portions. Im not sure if Id really go out of my way to go again. For people who enjoy cocktails, its probably a good place for a drink and small plate.
I recommend their rooftop bar, amazing drinks and a good assortment of tapas. Overall they have a wonderful atmosphere, elegant decorations in their lobby and restaurant area. I recently went for breakfast and was dissatisfied with their Bloody Mary, flavors were off. Also their breakfast food wasnt served with a side, which left me wanting more.
We had a wonderful breakfast / brunch at the Restaurant; the service was excellent, the Bloody Marys and Mimosas were very good, and the food was well above average. Best of all was the atmosphere, and Id highly recommend it for any occasion.
Very beautiful place, pleasant service and delicious food!! Our one complaint is we were seated by the kitchen which wasnt bad until the cooks had down time and started conversing and laughing which considering this is a fine dining experience was a little distracting.
Stopped in for brunch, ant then later that night for a cocktail.Brunch was amazing, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was unreal. The waiter mentioned it was literally squeezed 15min earlier.Waiter was very friendly and helpful, and provided spot on service.Wish we lived closer.
The space is really nice..impressive in downtown La Crosse. The table service was cordial and adequate, but, nothing more. The food was decent, not memorable. I may try for rooftop pizza in the summer, however, Im not inclined to beat a path back for a meal. I think the prices are determined mostly by the ambiance rather than the execution.
Was there for lunch and Loved the French onion soup... Simply amazing. Been there for dinner and was not overly impressed with the food. For one who in WI serves a bloody Mary with out cheese? Gave 4 star for their lunch menu.
We love this place! The atmosphere, food & service is top notch 👍🏽 Perfection! See you soon ☕🥂🍷
We stopped in and had drinks on the roof top. I must say I was disappointed in the view. The seating and lounge area all face down town with the roof structures blocking the view of the river. But the drinks were strong and tasty and we enjoyed them. After our drinks we went down for dinner. The service was ok. Im not sure our server ever introduced himself. He seemed busy and it took him a while to come back to our table for different reasons. Although there were only a few other people dining around us. But he did give good drink recommendations. Our drinks again were good. The cheese curd appetizer was delicious. The dill sauce served with it was really good. It seemed like we waited a long time for our food to be served. My fiance ordered the steak. He requested bluecheese crumble on top and extra on the side. Were not sure if the server was confused but what we were served was questionable. The steak itself was so dry, for a medium rare it had absolutely no juice in it. The sauce drizzled ontop was good, but not enough moisture to make up for the completely dry steak. My fiance stated that it seemed as though the chef literally rung all the blood out of the meat before cooking it. Plus there was the condiment dish with a chunk of blue cheese we had no idea what to do with at our table. The chicken I ordered was fairly dry itself, not nearly as dry as the steak though. The flavor was good and the veggies were tasty. I crumbled up the blue cheese block and added it to my dish! All in all though we were not impressed and my fiancee stated we would not be coming back.
Lunch was unexpectedly disappointing. We frequent the restaurant, but today things seemed off. The green BLT was bland and all I could taste was the grease from the tomato. The bacon was overcooked and fries were oversalted. I took two bites and didnt touch the rest. Strangely the server never inquired if something was wrong with the sandwich. With that said, the cheese curds were delicious. Just an overall bummer for a place we like.
The charmant was so elegant. Rooftop bar served good local beers and has a beautiful view of the downtown area. We then went downstairs to have dinner, and the charcuterie plate was fabulous! Our waitress was high end and explained all the fancy dish options to us. I wouldnt come here just anytime because Im not made of money, but its an amazing place for special occasions or a night out.
Classy and great servers. Portion was not big (it was the right serving sizebut the food was delicious and filling. We got a card for our anniversary and that meant a lot and we’re planning to go back annually.
We ate here in December and we werent really impressed with the food. Yes the place had a great view of the Rotary Lights and was a bit Glam inside but thats where it ended. Bar was fine but the Wagyu steaks were a BIG disappointment. Not much for flavor and tough for medium and rare. Best thing on the plate were the potatoes. Kind of bad that the steak cant surpass the potatoes. Overpriced and underwhelmed.
The bar staff were very accommodating. Very good mixed drinks. The prices for food were a little far outrageous. Got shrimp cocktail & got 5 of the smallest ever for the price. Left after disappointing appetizer.
Shared at the hotel website.I usually order pancakes but, this time tried the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was cold.We had to keep asking waitress for cream, refill on soda. She just couldnt be bothered.I asked her if I could get a to go box for roasted potatoes, after 10 minutes she came to take my plate to back. I told her I would do it myself. Another wait for container.Oh well.We are here at least once a week. First bad experience. If they seat me with this waitress again, I will grab a coffee to go.Maybe a chocolate.
Lovely, lovely experience. Staff were first rate. Knew the menu and could readily answer our questions. Very accommodating to special requests. Courteous staff from beginning to the end of our dining experience. All of our meals were as ordered and delicious. Would highly recommend it and will definitely fine here again.
We love the food. Usually for special occasions but doesnt have to be. Salmon was great and desert.
Tres chic! The Charmant definitely has the coolest ambiance in town, and the restaurant never fails to impress! For every meal of the day, they offer delicious and unique, seasonal, locally sourced dishes. Service is top notch, and its fun to be able to watch the chefs in the open kitchen. Dont forget to check out the rest of the hotel too! The rooms are gorgeous and comfy, the coffee shop is adorable, and the large lobby bar often has live music on the weekends. In the warmer months, its a must to check out the rooftop bar for a drink and wood fired pizza. Yum! The Charmant has been a fantastic addition to La Crosse!
It was our anniversary and we are greeted with "Happy Anniversary" and there was a card at out table. The food and service were generous and excellent. My husband had the rib eye and said it was the best steak hes ever had. The ambience and views were excellent as well. The main courses are a little pricey but we both felt it was worth it. Highly recommend.
Went to brunch on Saturday had unlimited mimosas and smoked trout Benedict, delicious. My friend had a burger with fries and they were also very good. Lovely atmosphere and elegant setting but I was comfortable in jeans. Highly recommend brunch!
Went for dinner. Shared the goat cheese with honey and vegetables and ordered the Burger. All were really good. Wine was good and the service was great! Also, beautiful ambiance. Rooftop patio was fun, but the cocktail wasnt good and all I got was a gin and tonic.
French onion soup is great. Service was good. Cocktails are excellent but the food was mediocre. The duck breast had an off very gamey flavor and the lamb was very fatty and had a very very very strong lamb/game flavor. Id come back for the cocktails but thats it. What a waste of $100 on a very disappointing meal.
We called and made a reservation for 2:45 on Easter Sunday. They claimed that they had an omelet buffet, a seafood buffet, and a steak buffet. What they actually had was a bunch of lukewarm food in trays. They had mediocre scrambled eggs with lukewarm sausage and biscuits and whatnot. They had Bland barbecued ribs. Their so-called seafood buffet was a bunch of small shrimp that was uncooked. Complemented by uncooked salmon , and no crab legs which they said that they had. On the phone they said it would be $35 a person. So we were expecting a good sized bill, but at the end of the meal the waitress who had facial piercings and had only brought us a total of three different drinks for the both of us let us know that the gratuity was included. We were forced to give her $16 for giving us three drinks while we went to the buffet. The total bill was 102 dollars for a meal I could have had at Perkins, but Perkins would have had warmer food. This restaurant is a mediocre disgrace and I will never go there again. Its no mistake either these people own the Water Front, they should know how to run a restaurant.
We went there last Sunday hoping for a beautiful brunch bar and there was a small menu.First our server stood talking to another server and didnt make it to our table for fifteen minutes. Our drinks came quick, they were great. Our food took forty five minutes. While we were waiting we looked over and a young couple walked in to be greated by one of the three chefs.Their food was at their table in ten minutes. Two of the three chefs werent cooking. The food wasnt great at all.We will not return. What a disappointment.
