The Red Hen - Bar in Sionainn, Ireland
The Red Hen in Sionainn
Description
Cool and modern looking bar serving many drinks on tap + cocktails. If you’re visiting Limerick then you should definitely check it out.
MoreToo loud, could barely hear anyone. Cocktails are ok but theyre the same all the time, hunters sports bar has more creative cocktails.
MoreJust didnt like it cant say exactly why it just wasnt my ideal pub, but thats just my opinion
MoreGood atmosphere and awesome coacktails. I recommend.
Not enough staff on a Saturday, and expensive
Went on the Monday, was nice but a bit pricey didn’t mind though, went to go back on Tuesday and was turned away as it was “over 20’s”…. We’re both 19.
MoreEnded up here for food since most other restaurants shut down at 8pm, even on a Friday. Food was edible (bar foodbut the staff was what made this place really memorable. Bar staff was friendly but the front door guys were awesome. Very friendly, happy to chat with us since we came from a place that one of them had visited. As a woman, I felt welcome here without creepy guys leering at me. Also well located to the downtown area.
MoreIts a good place to eat and drink.
Very abusive staffAt the doorWould not recommend this place to anyone
A must place to visit when in Tipperary town. Great pints and wonderful atmosphere. One of the oldest bars in Ireland.
MoreGreat place lovely staff working there
Great atmosphere and music and all, but a little bit pricey though🤷🏼♂️
MoreNice pints but very dark early on in the day
I love this place, its one of the best in the city.
Great place and cozy atmosphere. Love the decoration. Delicious cocktails and great chips. Staff could be more friendly, but overall they are good.
MoreThe Red Hen is a brilliant place to go for a meal or just a few drinks the staff are so nice and very professional
MoreI really liked the ambience and sitting arrangementsof this place. Most importantly music was not that loud. We could easily talk to each other. We had a few cocktails, which were not bad but could be better. I asked for tequila shots but unfortunately they didnt have it. That chicken with hot sauce was not bad either.
MoreFun, mostly chill vibes, great service and great food, though on a limited menu. Great place for a bite and beer if you ask me
MoreMost friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious cocktails
Great craic here! The staff are amazing and so friendly, you can tell theu all have a great relationship. We didnt have food here but were told it was lovely. Will be back when visiting limerick again .
MoreIf i could give below a one star i would ..walked up to the door and refused by bouncer said it was full tonight . Rang the bar and lady said she had a table . Went back up and the bouncer wasnt happy obviously told the lady to say no tables. This hapoened in the space of 3 mintues . Very bad pollicy and obviousky heard our dublin accent and this is why
MoreFabulous spot for cocktails and a bite to eat. Great tunes and lovely food.
The service i received here was second to none... every single member of staff were amazing i will always praise your staff.. just i was to old xx
MoreThe staff were so helpful and friendly. Cocktails were so nice and they do a great pint of Guinness
MoreHad the best night here last night! The service was just superb, super friendly and very helpful!! Didnt catch the servers name we had but he was the nicest guy, nothing was a problem! Cant wait to return for another 5* night!! PS...the nicest, most friendly doorman on the door too!!!
MoreBrianna the head bar tender gave us exceptional service all night, the cocktails were top class and the table service was quick and everyone is so accommodating in there! 5 stars
MoreWent here last Saturday, served by the lovely and friendly Niamh who was really attentive and explained the guidelines very clearly to us.Limited menu available, which we didnt know before we booked. All in all an enjoyable day.
MoreGreat spot to meet up with friends. Staff are brilliant and very friendly drinks and food are spot on. Never had a bad experience. Totally recommended.
MoreGreat lively bar in the centre of town. Extensive food menu. Lots of comfortable seating. Great DJs on multiple nights. Fantastic for groups or a quiet pint during the day. Top choice when I come to Limerick.
MoreBeen to The Red Hen a few times before so I knew it would be a good call! But I have to say the staff are absolutely top notch, and just the atmosphere in the place was great! 10/10 will be back again and will recommend to everyone :)
MoreVery cool place in the middle of Limerick. Had a beef burger and the chicken burger, both prepared to perfection, good offer of beers, even the craft ones. Friendly stuff.
MoreIts a wonderful place to eat and have a drink with friends. The interior design is so gorgeous and interesting. Wherever you look you can see something unusual and cool. Staff are very friendly.
MoreRecently discovered this place in search for sweet potato fries as i was craving for it. Friendly staff and huge place to enjoy during non peak hours. They have good selection of burgers. Tried the vegetarian and beef burger, both were tasty. Have a pint to cap the night.
MoreSince this is located right downtown, we stopped by for lunch during a weekday afternoon. It was modeiteratly busy. We were seated upstairs and we were the only ones up there. We were happy to sit on the couches and just relax after walking around for hours.
MoreLocated on OConnell St in Limerick City Centre and across the street from Arthurs Quay, the Red Hen is a really trendy Bar / Restaurant with a fantastic relaxed atmosphere and attention to detail. We went here for lunch and were greeted by friendly and helpful staff straight away. The menu looked very nice but as it was our 1st visit were unsure of serving sizes etc. I had the Chicken Curry with half Rice / Fries and a nan bread which was so, so tasty and a large portion to boot. My wife had the Pulled Pork wrap and T42 which came in a nice big pot with plenty for both..fantastic food, really well presented and great value for 2 very generous mains for just a little over €23...Well be back for sure...!
MoreTravel to limerick from dublin quite a bit and this is my first stop all the time. By far the nicest cocktails in limerick outshined by the outstanding staff. Staff are always friendly chatty and it doesnt feel forced, great team. Definitely recommend 🍹🍹🍹
MoreVery greasy fish(avoid). Portion sizes have gotten smaller. Food is good but dont get anything deep fried. Went back a few weeks later and got a salad. It was old and yellowed. Had to leave it uneaten. The waiter didnt want to know. Very disappointing.
MoreCosy place ! The first floor is very cool with confortable sofas. You have also a second floor for parties and birthdays. The food is very nice (go for the wings!and the staff is very kind and know the beers they are serving. The smoking area is warmed during fresh evenings and you have a TV if you still want to follow the match while smoking !
MoreWe go there as a treat/date! The food is better and better every time , the wings are to die for!!! People say the best wing are in The Curragower ITS A LIE(well if you like Tobasco and no sides)!!! Best wings are in The Red Hen! Trust me I know my wings well!!!Great staff, nice interior, great pints!!! Food is just ohhh my..! Keep up the good work, you never disappoint us! ❤🐤❤
MoreThe Red Hen is quirky with bags of character and generally the food is excellent. However on my most recent visit, I was very disappointed.A group of us had arranged to have finger food and were being charged €5 per head for just the food. However what was presented to us was NOT good value. We each got approximately one chicken goujon each, roughly 4 cocktail sausages, a few chips and some dips. The chips were so peppery I initially thought I was having an acute allergic reaction. I began to cough violently and couldnt breathe. It was an unpleasant experience. It was a pity because everything else was wonderful.
MoreCozy atmosphere. Good service. Id go again.
Such a great find, the food is delicious and good value. The staff were lovely and attentive as well. We had the beef brisket burger and the chowder. Highly recommended! 💛
MoreReally nice, really friendly, very good beer. Slightly limited food choices but to be fair it was well cooked and delicious. Would definitely go again and would recommend.
MoreGreat quality food, good service, not so great atmosphere
Great for food (breakfast and lunchand staff are friendly. Pub itself is well kept and very clean. Also good for a few beers and cocktails! Popular spot and always has a good crowd.
MoreWe stopped in here on a quick visit to Limerick as we were driving through the city. Red Hen was one of the only places open, but the menu looked good. The atmosphere wasnt ideal for kids, given that its a pub, but they did have a nice kids menu with some healthier options. The other food was really good as well. Service wasnt great, but thats what I came to expect in most restaurants in Ireland. Waiters/waitresses dont check on you much during the meal, and you generally have to track them down to get your bill at the end. Its a bit annoying in my opinion.
MoreBar staff can be quite rude but other members of staff are extremely helpful and polite. Bathrooms are never really in a good state. Heaters dont often work outside. Other than that, would only come in here for one pint and then scoot.
MoreHave visited the red hen on many occasions, the bar staff are very friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere inside. The decor is really cool and the music they play is good too especially if they have a dj on the night which they sometimes do. One of my favorite places to go in Limerick for sure.
MoreStaff was very friendly and advised patiently about the selection of drinks. We had garlic fries (very goodand the hen hot wings (too much sauce for my taste, still good), both for a reasonable price. There is a smokers balcony with heating in the back.
MoreGood atmosphere and nice layout. Cocktails could be good if they havent fallen into the trap of too much ice and sweetness but I only tried the one (it was the Red Hen, very sweetmore research is needed.
