The Red Fort Indian Restaurant & Bar - Indian restaurant in North Shore, New Zealand
Taste was decent, but it was too oily. It was dripping from the container. Could do with better portion sizes too.
The best Indian restaurant in Woking IMHO. A good selection of really tasty food and great value for money. I would highly recommend everyone to try it.
Food quality is great 👍 customer service also good,,,,
I cant comment on the eating-in option - this review is for the Red Fort takeaway. It.is.INCREDIBLE. The first time I ordered through Just-Eat (now switched to ordering direct from Red Fort as its cheaperwas purely by chance. They were cheap so I went with them, with low expectations due to the price. Oh my god was I WRONG!! Every single dish was full of flavour, and beautifully cooked, from the perfect onion bahji to the soft sheek kebab. But the main point to note is the lamb they use. If youre of a certain age you will remember when EVERY Indian restaurant used those lovely chunks of lamb, instead of the miserable, cheap and nasty marbled strips half of them use today. Red Fort use CHUNKS of lamb, that are so soft they almost melt in your mouth. And ZERO gruesome white tubing either. Absolutely incredible quality of food for the price.Dont be fooled by how cheap Red Fort are - support a wonderful, top notch establishment that REALLY make the effort to get their food right.
Staff polite and welcoming as usual, wanted the lamb mirchi but unfortunately this was unavailable, waiter suggested an alternative that was as flavourful and good.Service was good, no hovering, and waiter was able to define the dishes to our US colleagues who were not as familiar with their style as we were.Time to prepare was not to long. All in all a favourite of mine and recommend their restaurant to all
Lovely meal served hot and staff very friendly. Will definitely go back again
Gorgeous authentic food that reminds me of my grandfathers cooking. The atmosphere inside is calm and inviting. Hygiene is of a high standard, which Im sure anyone can appreciate now more than ever.
Worse Indian restaurant I have ever been In, I would not recommend this restaurant if u are looking a good night out and meal avoid this place at all cost, there is so many other nice restaurants next door to this place.
Probably the worse Indian in Woking omg food was dreadful and the staff are so rude especially MD, there is so many other nice restaurants in Woking avoid this place if u don’t want to have a bad experience
one of if not best indian meal I have ever had and I have a few.. if looking for authentic very good tasting food this is the place..
On a recent fortnights visit to Woking, I returned many times to this wonderful, family-run restaurant. The friendly hosts were very welcoming, and ready to share their knowledge of the exquisite food on the menu. Every dish I had was delicious, and very satisfying.Make sure you pay this gem a visit! You wont be disappointed.I look forward to the next time.
Ordered food an hour and a half ago and Im still waiting... So annoying wasnt a difficult order even on boxing day shouldnt take this long. Still waiting!!
Booked a table here for 8.30 today for a party of 6. Arrived 8.36. Upon arrival I heard a guy say oh its not them is it then all of a sudden there was a leak on our table, even though the restaurant was full. We were then rudely told to wait 30 mins. I dine out daily and Ive never had this type of horrific experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Do not get your hopes up for a night here as they may give your table away!! We were lucky the priory sorted us a table!! If not night ruined after hours of travelling!!
Would have to give the bengalis the credit even though it comes under Indian cuisine I could write so much good things about this place but I rather eat here then type lol.💯🙌🏾Ali
What a lovely restaurant and meal. Food was fresh and flavourful. Prices were very reasonable with large protions. Staff where wonderful. Will definitely go agai !Thank you
Recommend bring ya mates especially Tuesday and Wedensday sit in special. So Im from Woking. Ive eaten here so many times.Last 16 years I live in Thailand so I was so looking fore ward to a good curry when I got to England.I had to wait 2 years to be able to travel back to Woking. Im so happy red Fort has survived the carnage of covid.Any how my sit in main meal was great very nice flavours and armours with excelent side dishes and all served in a good time. With attentive staff looking after me.. Super happy thank you red Fort.. C u again soon
Tried chicken bhuna for the first time, tasted exquisite full of flavour along with a nice fluffy naan bread, to top it off the customer service was great will defo be going again soon!
The food was fresh and well cooked staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend
We ordered a meal it arrived 1hr 30mins later we were so hungry, also curries are so sweet (awful). Oh well wont use them again.😩😩
Despite having lived close the The Red Fort in Woking for many years, it was only this week that I decided to eat there for the first time. They had a five-star food hygiene rating, and a website where we could check the menu in advance. It was a quiet night, around 10:30pm, with around four tables in.There was one gentleman running front-of-house and he was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I was eating with my partner and we both felt the customer service was great. We enjoyed the usual drinks and poppadom, followed by the mixed meat platter to start. It was hot and tasty – what more can I ask for! When it came to ordering mains, I was tempted by my go-to, a lamb madras. However the gentleman serving us recommended I might like to try one of their signature dishes – I believe it was the Nepali Ghurka Lamb. I was not disappointed – it was delicious; with plenty of decent quality meat and a really nice flavour that was a nice variation from a lot of the regular Indian dishes I would usually go for.The speed of service was in line with what you would expect for the time of night, and the food came out hot and well presented. With regards Covid safety, the staff their wore masks when attending tables, and there was plenty of space between us and other guests. We were able to use the NHS check-in app when we arrived. In terms of value for money, we found it to be about average – and were very happy to leave a tip for the warm, friendly service. My only complaint would be that the chairs in the restaurant are shaped in such a way that they are not the most comfortable for those with a larger rump! But – that didn’t negatively impact the overall experience. Will absolutely return.
Ive not had a great deal of experience to be able to comment on how authentic a dish is. All I know is that I came in expecting to have my taste buds excited, and excited they were. The food was lovely, the staff friendly and professional, and it was a nice atmosphere for late on a Tuesday evening. Very pleasant experience and I look forward to being able to return.
Don’t, just don’t. I can’t ever remember having a worse meal anywhere in the world. Service was slow and appalling and how much had one of the staff had to drink?….totally disheveled and uncoordinated. As for the food, I had cat sick yellow coloured butter dish that tasted worse than a Homepride cooking sauce out of a jar. We will never return, as Gordon Ramsey would say… “what a shame”
Im going to give 3*. The food was decent. However the food arrived very late. I would say the onion Bhaji was rather greasy and the butter naan was soggy. The lamb Madras itself I would give 4*. I will try again in the future. As It was pretty good all in all.
First time order from here and the food was lovely. Had a few dishes as always and all was very tasty, looking forward to restaurant opening so can in eat with friends.
Dont bother with there food! Jaipur is way better trust me guys. My food arrived cold and tasteless!!! Avoid at,all costs the chef must have a addiction to using alot of oil!! Absolutely swimming in oil! Wouldnt feed this to a dog
Absolutely fantastic curry. I had the pathia. Sweet, sour and rich tomato based sauce. Meat was excellent quality. Friend had the lamb dhansak and was also incredible. Best curry Ive had in while. Would give Camberley Tandoori a run for its money!!
Food was lovely! Our first time eating in (we have takeaway from there oftenand it was great! Nice service, tables well spaced so we felt safe. We will definitely be back.
Has to be the worst food we have tasted in Woking so far. We ordered chicken achari fusion and to our surprise founds bits of achar in the dish, this was a shock. Half of the dish had achar with only 6 cubes of chicken. You better come to us and we will teach you how to make that dish. Portion is awful. Naans were soggy as well. A definite no go for us.Update: We have fallen ill after taking these items.
Not good at all, Staff is rude, food is not Indian style at all. Next day i got stomach pain. So i would say dont visit this. Not worth of money at all. Better visit Jaipur restaurant. It is close of this.
Great place in Woking town centre. Loved the dinner with my mates out there. I like their special chutney with papadoms. Absolutely have to try their traditional dishes as well as.
Feisal was very friendly and offered us an excellent customer service beyond the duty of call. He simply treated us so well and in return, we visited this place more than once for dinner. Highly recommend for authentic Indian Cuisine. If wanna eat authentic Indian food, this is the place to visit in Woking. Thank you.
Delicious food and very welcoming staff. Great vegetarian and vegan options. An authentic Indian Restaurant nearby which I will also use for delivery :I
It was biggest mistake to pop in this restaurant for dinner . Totally rubbish service , restaurant was fairly busy but everytime we had to search where the waiter is!! There was only guy on the floor I found and (no offensehe was a struggler . However, recommended all the curry found really expensive and there was nothing special to say about those dishes , actually everything in their irrelevantly expensive!! poppadoms, chutnies and drinks everything over priced and compare to price service was totally opposite . And finally when we asked for the bill they added more than 10% service charge by their own which I found offensive . Local customers should be aware from their wrong strategies . Terrible , my god !!
Nice place in Woking Town centre. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed (Indian music plays in the background, but its not overwhelming). The staff is very polite, and the food is good. The menu has a great variety of dishes, from starters to mains, and everything is quite filling! Maybe is a bit pricey (youre just in town centre), but overall is a nice restaurant. They also deliver at home.
Having previously ordered from this place and enjoyed it, my partner and I were looking forward to having it again. However, this evening everything was different, I had to check if it was the same place! Nothing had taste, nothing was cooked with care, it all tasted like MSG. I feel groggy and robbed. Never again.
Absolutely gorgeous meal. Very welcoming, smiling and friendly service. I was recommended to have Red Fort Special rather than Chicken Madras. I must say that the was amazing ever !!Will be back, definitely.
Beautiful place, good food, good service. Keep it up guys, doing a great job. Kala Bhuna is a top dish. Won’t be dissapointed. Will bring more friends next time round.
Food arrived quickly however I wish it hadn’t at all. Poppadoms were dry and tasteless and the curry was far too greasy – half of the container was sauce with an equal layer of oil on top. Inedible
Worst food.... Got stones in chana masala... Rotis are half cooked ...avoid it if you can....just go other indian restaurant nearby
I never write reviews, yet we are really ‘foodie’ as a couple. I felt I should review, as these guys agreed to deliver to us, despite us being slightly out of their usual area, and they really deserve a shout out. This was the most delicious Indian takeaway we have had, possibly ever. We have eaten in a couple of London’s supposedly best Indian restaurants, and this was on a par. Really delicious, full of flavour, couldn’t fault it! Recommend Aloo Gobi, Nepalese Lamb and Achari Chicken...so far, anyway!
Nice food. Naga Lamb is really good and spicy. Some menu items I have never seen before do always good if you enjoy new things.
This is a very welcome addition to Woking. The food here is honestly the tastiest Indian food I have had around Surrey for a very long time. The place was very atmospheric, comfortable and the staff polite and well trained in the menu. The price was also not overly expensive and the wait time was just right. Can;t wait to visit again.
Delicious food!Exceptional service, and the Main Lamb dishes along with the Naan Bread were absolutely amazing.Atmosphere is formal, yet there is no strict dress code, as I was dressed very ordinarily. This is the best combination in my opinion.Very nice wine selection, and also astonishing was how clean the toilets were!!I would say it is almost expensive, Naan bread could be cheaper and the water is £5. Poppadoms with chutney could possibly be complimentary and they could have an option for more chutneys with extra cost.Overall, I am well beyond pleased, and will most definitely be visiting again!
I found it to be a very expensive takeaway experience - among the most expensive two curry, one rice and two bread takeaways Ive bought - and, despite the above average taste quality of one of the dishes, I thought it was not good value for money.I was very disappointed to see that despite ordering the takeaway in the shop and collecting it, I was not given the 10% or 11% collection discount. If the discount is for online orders only, this needs to be stated prominently or at least an explanation given at the point of in-shop ordering. Its possible Ive misunderstood something but it did seem I was charged restaurant eat-in prices for a self collected takeaway. For me, this is about respect for me as a customer. Simple service in this regard would have earned Red Fort a very loyal and regularly returning mid-week customer, whereas now I wont be returning. There was no complimentary poppadoms or chutney provided. Thats fair enough. Just an observation. The food was above average in taste although the spicing of the bhuna lacked nuance and depth with far too much sweetness. The base sauce is clearly good quality but the dish specific layers of spicing on top of that are shallow. The vindaloo was good in terms of taste and a laser like concentration of warming heat. There was a lot of tomato in the taste but somehow it just - only just though - worked as one of the nicer Woking vindaloos Ive tasted. The cubes of lamb were however too small and there wasnt enough meat. I was hungry at the end of meal which is a very unusual experience for me.Ultimately I think its a shame that a restaurant thats able to produce a better than average quality of food, falls down on value for money. This is subjective and just my opinion.Maybe town centre restaurants have it too easy and dont have to try too hard for customers. Most people, or at least those who work hard for their money and for whom a mid-week takeaway is a hard earned treat, will probably want more value for money (and more food for the moneythan is on offer here.
Having used a number of takeaways in the area over the last year, I still hadnt found one that was consistently good so thought Id keep looking and gave The Red Fort a try. I wasnt disappointed! Great food at a competitive price for the area. Recommended.
My partner and I visited this newly launched curry house in Woking. The whole experience was great. I oedered the mix sizzler and it was one of the best curries I had for years. Highly recommended 👍👍
Got the leaflet through my door and ordered delivery from them it was excellent and food was hot too. Curry price was really decent and affordable. Liked this new local Indian restaurant called Red Fort👍 👍
Fantastic food and staff . Abslute splendid atmosphere , due to the staff and the decor . The few food is very delicately made and i know that because and i tasted them regularly . Must try Woking !! And Kazi is my favourite Waiter there 👍👍
Thanks to my office colleague Ian who recommended me to choose The Red Fort instead of jaipur . Really worth it to popped in here best curry 🍛 house in Surrey I reckon. Really great food excellent service and 5 star atmosphere. Highly recommended👍👍
Excellent food, beautifully prepared, plenty of it, and tasty! Good value for money with friendly and helpful staff. Was late arriving for lunch booking due to parking and weather issues, and although they were due to close, they kindly served us and allowed us to stay with no hassle. Cant thank them enough. Sadly Im not local, but would travel to eat there again.
