Amazing atmosphere comdey is always great a lot or talent passes through here love this place...

Im not really into the pub scene but this was a fundraiser. Since this post Ive become a regular for the Sunday Blues Jam. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys live music, appreciates good food, and friendly service. The Queens is the place, you want to be! Oh yes and the dance floor is open again🙂 Theyve also added an Asian chicken burger to their menu and it is delicious!

Best spot in Nanaimo. Saw Hawksley Workman crush a 3 hour set. Also got to see Dope Soda own a Sublime tribute then rip their OG material. What a place!

Had a great early evening dance fest with my friends. Band was incredible, staff outstanding.

Lots of fun. Good bands and fun shows. The staff is always wonderful.

Led Zeppelin tribute band and you know theyROCKED THE HOUSE !Even playing until 2 am! Sound system was excellent as well.Great show for $20 bucks

Very friendly staff. I enjoy the layout quite a bit and appreciate the wide diversity of music they host for an affordable amount. Big thumbs up 👍

How awesome is this place??? Drive from Comox (140kms.to enjoy a incredible night of live music. Excellent service and prices. One of the coolest things is the drinks are not watered down at all!!!!!😃

Our server Buffy was the absolute best. Food was on point, the washrooms were clean and nice. Tasty craft beer. Looking forward to our next visit.

The food was great pub good and the luve music plus the trivia contest was really very fun. I would return during live music evenings.

Incompetent staff and our table had about 10 coasters under it. Had to add more as our table was still shaky! Generally a disappointing first impression

Do not get the food! 1/5 for the food, chewy stale, cold fries and inedible calamari. Very dissapointing but it is a more of a bar so I guess its to be expected. The events are awesome however, a great variety of things happen here! Some hosts for events are hit and miss and unorganized but the events themselves are good.

Amazing talent performing at the Sunday afternoon jam today, and only $10.00 cover. Try the fabulous Queens burger, but only if you are hungry!

I happen to come when several live bands were playing - an occurrence that happens weekly! A door fee of $5 allowed me to listen to three amazing blues bands. From old favorites to brand new music, it was lively to listen to! The place was packed. Food potions are small but very delicious. We tried the wings and wontons.

Came to Nanaimo for the night for a staycation, at 11pm on a Saturday in mid August this bar told us they could not accommodate us even though the bar was practically empty. Really sad they treat visiting guests like this. Best of luck to this pathetic excuse for a business.

Took the family for the indie night show. Had a fantastic time. The kids loved the live music. good selection of beer on tap and great food.

Amazing build your own Poutine! Tater tots beer cheese curds fat chunks of bacon and crispy chicken! This place has it all! Come down to the queens and say hi to the sexy Kate and order a drink and the most epic build a poutine you ever could imagine!Thanks Kate and the chef in the back whomever you are! Stellar time!

I just want to thank the staff at the Queens; particularly Kate. I left my change purse with about $20.00 there on a Sunday Blues Jam. They kept it for me until next Sunday. Thanks for you integrity and honesty. Jude

Food was good, especially the bun on the burger, but they messed up my order catastrophically. It was a busy night but still ... I didnt get it fixed because i did not want to wait that long again. Good layout but when its busy it is very tight.

The house band is fantastic, the food is great, and the stage is big and easy to see from all seating. Only drawbacks are that their isnt much seating, its very dark, and the patio is small.

Every Sunday between 4 and 8 there is the blues jam and it is absolutely incredible! A variety of highly talented local Blues musicians get on stage and rock the joint. The dance floor is pack for the whole event. Its a very friendly welcoming place. It has a 100 year history. Come to the Queens the best old Town bar Ive ever been to. And its super safe.

Great venue. Staff was super nice, plenty of local beers on tap, and the sound for live performances is fantastic. Will definitely be back.

Had a great experience before. This time we entered with 6 moms on a night out and once we paid discovered it was punk rock. We exited within 2 mins of entering and asked for our money back which was denied.Our fault for not listening in first but was disappointed with the lack of flexibility when we were very obviously looking for a different kind of night

We went there for the first time to enjoy the Blues Jam event on a Sunday. I was amazed at how good the food and entertainment was.The atmosphere was warm and safe, staff and patrons all were super friendly. The patrons were mostly middle aged.The Blues event was well put together, bands were friendly and played perfectly in sync.Food was incredibly delicious, we both had burgers and thoroughly enjoyed them. Expect to spend about 3 hours dancing from start to finish. And spend maybe 60 bucks on food and booze.....AWESOME! GOING BACK FOR SURE!!

Beautiful bar stellar acoustics... And some very very inebriated patrons. Best place in Nanaimo to go dancing if youre over the age of 30. Not completely full of kids ...

Best sound system for live music in downtown, AFAIK. Lots of great local and touring bands come play here, even the likes of Daniel Wesley, Delhi To Dublin, and other well-known names.Decent size dance floor, lots of lasers etc. nice staff, and overall fair pricing. Beer is a tad expensive for the good stuff, but its worth the extra couple $ IMO.Usually there is a really nice crowd too, lots of kind, interesting people. Good times here, my favourite bar for live music and/or billiards/pool.

Incredible concert venue! Definitely somewhere to check out. Excellent sound, decent food, well-priced drinks, good service, and a lot of fun! Came for one band, stayed for 2 more

My father has been here a couple times and he took me to see Jack Semple last weekend. The venue is great, audio was spot on and performers were amazing. To top it off the staff and business itself were really into everything. Such a great place.

Brilliant place offering live music regularly. Wonderful friendly staff and excellent daily deals on drinks. A great place for meeting local characters! Would highly recommend!

This is my absolute favourite live music venue! The staff are all fabulous! Working with the Queens doing shows for Sweet Tooth Burlesque Revue is such a great experience.

We go here for the Sunday Blues Jam on a regular basis. The staff are great. The atmosphere of the old building is perfect for listening to the blues. The music always ranges from very good to truly Great!! Nanaimo is lucky to have such talented musicians and is lucky to have the Queens as a venue to enjoy it all.

Great place for drinks and live music by local bands for a low cost. Good young crowd too. Call them before you go because the dont always have a live band

A cool and interesting nightclub. I was at a live music show here, and its a pretty good venue. There is plenty of seating, both near and away from the stage. Drinks are pretty cheap too.

The Queens has the best Blues bands playing & mixing musically, on the Island. Most of the best Musicians from Van Island meet up here, every Sunday 4pm - 8pm. The place is always packed with all age groups, up to 70. The dance floor is always full, & the Sunday Blues is becoming veerrry well known. Billie is the speedy, friendly, bartender & Sophia is one of the prettiest, best & fastest servers on the floor; that Ive ever experienced anywhere in Canada - or the States!
