The Quarry Restaurant - Restaurant in Cowra, Australia
Fantastic. A bit pricy but the food is top quality and the staff are very friendly.
Great restaurant with very nice food. Very friendly & polite staff.
My mum and I had a lovely "Ladies day out", we had lunch at the Quarry Restaurant Cowra and it was exceptional. Perfect customer service, Kate went above and beyond. Food was amazing, creme brulee was to die for, great atmosphere and I loved the selection of gorgeous soaps and lotions available in the ladies. Very luxurious!
Fabulous setting, really delicious food and good wine list. We travelled to meet friends for lunch and had read reviews that the portion sizes were small. This couldnt be further from the truth! Portions are very generous and everything we ordered was stunning.Kate was the perfect host. We would definitely highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.A real gem
The entire experience was perfection! From the second we walked in the door to a lit fireplace and comfy chairs, we were greeted with welcoming faces and made to feel like we were family. We were treated to an exquisite vegan menu at our last minute request and we were not disappointed! Will absolutely be returning.
Really nice people. Cocktails were great. Loved so many wines by the glass. Beef had a very good flavour.
Gorgeous setting, very cosy with lovely attentive service and delicious menu! Well worth a visit to Cowra and enjoy The Quarry
Service, food, and wine, were excellent. Vegetarian options were few, but tasty. We enjoyed ourselves a lot.
Great setting with great food and very good staff thank you.
Great food, lovely setting and excellent service. Everything you want from a restaurant
Went back here yesterday after refusing to go back after awful attitude of the previous ownersUnder new ownership of Kate & Ian I must congratulate them on the Top Quality food that I was served yesterdayIt was a Michelin Star effort yesterday and I can see this restaurant earning a Chef Hats award going forwardFantastic to have a top restaurant back in Cowra, service was slow but as explained by Kate the head chef was off with CovidWill be a regular haunt from now on
First class local ingredients and wines prepared without cheffy excess.
The new management is fantastic: very delicious food nicely presented, lovely atmosphere and charming staff. We had a wonderful evening and can recommend The Quarry highly
Meal was absolutely amazing . Highly recommend a visit to the Quarry if you are looking for that amazing tasting meal. Very clean, beautifully set out ,efficient service , delightful friendly staff,Peaceful relaxing atmosphere. Superb local wine . Awesome place
We visited The Quarry to celebrate 2 family birthdays. Wow. It was excellent. The ambiance was lovely, the service was excellent, food was faultless. Compliments to the chef. The wine, delicious and local. The staff were wonderful, and went out of their way, with special service for the only child (4 years oldin our group. I would recommend this restaurant for a famy or group celebrations.
Exceptional food and the service was immaculate. Would highly recommend the visit for anyone who is in town!
Although the menu is a bit restrictive, the quality & presentation of the food is very good, the atmosphere is quite pleasant. Worth the visit.
Consistently good food and excellent service. We have celebrated a lot of big milestones in this restaurant.
Amazing service, food is amazing! I am coming back here often!New owner Kate, is just what this place needed!
Lovely atmosphere - a bit out of the way to find at night but no problem with GPS. Food was lovely, and sensible size servings. (Plenty but not too much). Set prizes - all entrees $20, all mains $40, all desserts $16. Good wine range
Lovely place and staffHave wonderful lunch in hereNice experience lunch time
I typed "best restaurant in Cowra" into google search, and it didnt lie.Good service, sensational food. All local produce, relaxed atmosphere, food came out in a very timely manner with perfect portion sizing. Local wine and dessert were amazing. Definitely worth a re-visit.
A fine dining experience with exceptional customer service. Youll love The Quarry. Greeted as soon as you enter and immediately offered a refreshment is a sure sign of attentiveness. The meals are beyond what youll find anywhere in the area. Group bookings handled with ease in our group of 19 no-one was disappointed. In fact we were made to feel so comfortable it was hard to leave. Top notch.
On a road trip from Sydney... saw all the great reviews and we were really looking forward to a special and delicious evening. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. Lets begin with the positives... husband had prawn and chorizo linguine to start which he says was lovey. The wine was superb. The environment was welcoming and stylish. Now... the king prawn in panko breadcrumbs was really really poor. The prawns had been sliced in half, were mushy and tasteless. For mains we had the Cowra lamb rump and the lamb ragu. The lamb rump was tough and the ragu was not the delicious slow cooked melt in your mouth experience I was hoping for... both meals chewy. I am more than happy to pay a premium price for premium food in a classy atmosphere however this place does not deliver.
Absolutely brilliant. Four of us met in Cowra for Sunday lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed three courses each. Every dish was perfect. Meal sizes were spot on and quiet good value. Wine was very good too. Service and hospitality was outstanding. Looking forward to a return visit!
Lovely placeFriendly staffsTasty foodWorth to try
Fabulous food (and I am hard to please!). Lovely setting, service attentive and friendly despite the lack of skills. Pleased to meet the owner as we will most certainly return.
Had a fantastic evening - food and service was all very enjoyable. The soufflé and the lamb shank are exceptional. Thank you Anne for your hospitality.
We travelled from Sydney and eagerly anticipated our Quarry Restaurant experience. What a jewel it turned out to be. Fine dining at its best. The location and ambiance fits the town of Cowra. The dining room is spacious yet cosy and nice and quiet. The service was fantastic with unobtrusive attentive staff. The food. The food. I had three courses as did a number of our group. Lamb was fantastic and pork belly superb. We then did a wine tasting of local wines (we only had local wines with the mealall of which were sublime. We bought a case of the local Vedhello and Shiraz, both reserve issues. We bought more from the cellar door.A top lunch with personalised service.
Just had a lovely dinner to celebrate my birthday. Lovely food and very helpful staff. Thank you for a great night
(3.5 stars)Set amongst the gum trees, the warm wooden dining room of The Quarry Restaurant in Cowra is popular with locals. The conservative menu—available as two-course ($60or three-course ($75)—celebrates the produce of the Lachlan Valley region.Dotted with red grapes and walnuts, the twice-baked gruyere & blue cheese soufflé is the highlight of my meal. It outperforms a generous serve of dry-aged sirloin with sautéed potatoes, mushrooms and eschallots in red wine jus. A Cowra lamb shank braised in tomatoes and red wine on potato mash is simple but enjoyable.Local area wines, like the 2017 @alexderosnay Rośe ($35), are well-priced, though this exemplar was a fraction sweet for my liking. Overall, this restaurant is putting out competent bistro-style cuisine in a nice setting.
Situated just a few minutes from Cowra town centre lies this little gem. Featuring an array of tasty and refined dishes built around local produce, we enjoyed the juicy and perfectly-cooked Cowra lamb along with a few glasses of local cold climate wines. We dined in the outdoor garden setting rather than the wood fire-heated dining room as we had a four-legged fur friend accompanying us. We each had three-courses and can not recommend enough any of the six dishes we tried. We will definitely come back when we are next in Cowra.
Extremely rude and discriminatory staff would not recommend at allEdit for owners response: My visit was with my father and our cousin who is on the autistic spectrum, upon arrival at your business we were immediately refused service and told to leave as you were closed despite other customers being present and no signage or notice of closure. No other reason was given to us.We chose to leave politely rather than cause a scene. I suggest you speak to the staff member attending the front, I posted this review shortly after leaving.
My partner and I arrived without a booking for a Friday Lunch, after checking in via QR code for covid19, we were warmly welcomed and seated quickly.entrees, mains & desserts were cooked to perfection and plated beautifully, we asked for recommendations for wines to match our meals and were more then happy with the suggestions, with each wine complimenting our chosen dish.Entrees were the Pork Belly & Cheese Souffle which was decadent yet light and fluffy and full of flavour. Our mains were the Cowra Lamb Rumb & Chicken Surpreme which were both cooked to perfection, And Dessert we had the Banofee Pavalova & Milk Chocolate Mousse w/ Orange & Hazelnut Semifreddoas a chef myself, I can gladly recommend the Quarry to any Food & Wine lover living or visiting the Central West Region, providing a quality and service, rarely found anywhere, let alone in a country town such as Cowra.
Enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch here. They have a lovely fireplace to sit and relax and have a drink before your meal. The cowra lamb for main was very good and the dessert a chocolate lava with vanilla ice cream was fabulous !
The location is very pretty, lovely open fire and tastefully decorated. Staff are friendly and professional. Service excellent. Both agreed the entree and desserts were fabulous. The main meal however, Cowra lamb, was tender and cooked well but was just ordinary. Lacked a flavour punch. Veges were the same. I think the addition of some signature sauce and a little something in the veges (butter and herbs maybewouldve lifted the main meal
A lovely afternoon with exceptional fresh food and local wines. Staff were engaging and proud of their local area and all it has to offer. Truly a must do when your in the area.
Lunch sitting was busy on a Saturday long weekend. Although we had no booking we were welcomed in with a warning that service might be leisurely. The place was close to capacity with a big party occupying much of the room. The high soft ceilings ensured that the atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy. Service was well paced and the food was all well presented and tasty. Seeing sizes were obviously catering to hungry farmers and very generous. Wine list was quite extensive and offered a good range of local product.
Food amazing, staff very accommodating. The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic. Stopped in for tasting at their cellar door and stayed for lunch. Wines are reasonably priced the food is on the expensive side. However worth the price it really was delicious.
Good customer service but absolutely horrible food.Extremely overpriced and small portions. Do not go here if you are hungry.Ended up paying $40 for a small bowl of noodles, and the pasta seemed nothing fancy but some tomato paste brushed on. I would never go here again. I’d rather drive to orange and find something there to eat.
Outstanding in every way. Food, drinks and especially service was simply outstanding. We were there as a big group and loved everything about this restaurant. Thank you
Excellent food. Very few starters suitable to vegetarians and vegans but what is available is amazing! My peach salad was stunning
Its a fine dining restaurant in a vineyard. Probably it is the best in Cowra. Sincere service and good food. The dessert is delicious as well.
Excellent restaurant with great food and fantastic atmosphere. The place in to take your significant other for an impressive evening. Expect your wallet to be a bit lighter when you leave though.
Consistently good! Nice wines pair well with the food, good service, good menu, always cooked well and nice quiet location. Sweet chilli jam (house-madewith their crunchy wedges is one of the best Ive ever tasted
It was so easy yet, so difficult to choose from this menu. In the end four of us chose four different entrees and four different mains (no room for dessertand we all enjoyed our meals. Great service and a lovely place. We will be back.
The BEST food in Cowra by far. I now live overseas after growing up in Cowra and living here for 25 years and this is the only place worth coming back to with exceptional food and service. Husband and wife team never fail to please!
It was a nice spot. A little to pricy for what i got. Id be happy to pay that if the food left me wanting more. Alcohol was over priced. If the drinks were even $1.50 less, i would have gotten 2 instead of 1. The atmosphere is lovely and if youre not a big eater and just want somewhere nice to go, then its worth a visit.
Lovely ambience. Delicious food. Beautiful setting just outside Cowra so convenient for tourists and locals alike. Try the chocolate lava - it is heaven on a plate!
I had a lovely meal in the Quarry - the desert was awesome! All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and the service was excellent. Great location just outside Cowra on the Canberra Road, lovely wine.
